Roll up, roll up, it's the Dec 11 new thread.
Prepare to be upgraded (if you can catch them!)

Ds is still in his cot bed it is mahoosive for him and the cot sides are staying up as long as possible!! He's not tried to escape yet thankfully utterly dreading the day he does as he thrashes around in his bed and will be on the floor in minutes Grin also he will not be in his room with his gate closed without epic tantrums.

Dh gone out to see a friend so evening to myself glass of wine and crap magazine to read lovely!!

NorthernChinchilla · 01/08/2013 20:28

Right, this is what was meant to have been posted last night!

Oh heavens Queenie how worrying. I'm sure, given that it happened at lunch and they only called you later, and that Sky is fine in herself, that it will be just a precaution. Hopefully it will just be a case of reminding the member of staff how to do things properly and/or formally disciplining her, rather than it being malicious.
But you must be so worried; let us know what they report back. ((Hug))

Xiao, the swearwords were at the level of teenagers sadly, with extra venom thrown in that you only get with family members who know each other well and know which buttons to press...think divorce, childlessness, etc.

The text from the eldest was hilarious though, as my DP says, "can you smell the whiff of burning martyr?" Grin
And to the outside world, they're such a naice family...
Oh, and so with you and Hop on the monster/angel complex that they have going on- we're getting hysterics at the moment if we won't let him stand at the sink and run his hands under the water.

So, today work was horrendous, again. So many people leaving, think tipping point has been reached in terms of being able to function. Am off to bed very shortly!

NorthernChinchilla · 01/08/2013 20:28

And now for today's....

NorthernChinchilla · 01/08/2013 20:48

That's definitely not good news seven. Although not an expert in the criminal justice system itself, cases get passed up to the Crown Court as there are limited offences the Magistrates deal with. Magistrates also have limited powers of sentencing.
All cases start in the Magistrates, but some go up to the Crown Court as they are more serious (people can also request it in 'mid-level' cases, to ensure trial by jury).
Given it's Crown Court, plus that this is a second offence AND he's been on the Register before, it is very unlikely he'll get a community sentence- my guess is custodial, but it could range from weeks to years.

How completely dreadful for you: I can't remember the details of the two instances, but I remember it being unpleasant. And the even worse thing is the family denial, plus the fact that you'll be the one in the 'wrong' if you don't believe that BiL is innocent. Sad

That's funny Peril, co-incidences like that are really freaky! Bet you twitched when you heard his name!

We meant to get a cot bed, but owing to a very, very long saga involving my father, a collapsing third hand cot and a pre-ordered mattress we've got a cot. I'll keep him in it for a while, especially if we're moving.

DP and DS just set off up North, feel a weird mix of 'oooh, the house to myself Grin!' and 'waaaaaaaaaaah Sad!'

QueenofClean · 01/08/2013 20:48

Northern hoping your relaxing with a glass of wine.

Well apparently it was one of the agency staff covering holidays who reported the member of staff..there was a meeting this morning and she will not be returning until the investigation has ended as they have classed it as inappropriate behaviour. I feel sorry for her as it's like a temp has put a spanner in the works as this member of staff has been at the nursery since Darcie was there and that was years ago. I dunno everything happens to me :(

On a high note tho I'll be picking up my Darcie tomorrow morning 11am and I can't bloody wait...missed her sooooooooooo much Grin

SevenReasonsToSmile · 01/08/2013 22:51

Thanks northern sounds like they're in even more denial than we thought then. I worry that MIL would struggle if he went inside, he still lives at home and I know he helps financially, she's a 78yo pensioner with no savings living in a council house. I'd like to believe he's innocent but its not worth it. Not believing him results in losing contact with a family member we're not very close to anyway, but believing him, allowing him any contact with the DCs and getting it wrong just doesn't bear thinking about.

Aethelfleda · 02/08/2013 13:53

I am typing this vaaaaaiiiry quietly while laid next to DS's big-boy-bed-with-new-bedguard (thank you Argos) as he had to be persuaded to stay in it for his nap...he is now napping...our days of cot containment are over .....

Hope Darcy enjoyed her trip!

OP posts:
Figgygal · 02/08/2013 14:09

Am also typing this mid boy nap he's asleep in the sofa which usually isn't allowed but were waiting for nil to bring 4yo niece round as she wanted to see him and he just zonked out.

Weather is very confused today warm and sunny then wet and windy so hunkering down with my gone girl novel while I get a chance

QueenofClean · 02/08/2013 17:00

My bean is home Smile she's grown in the week she has been away. She's had a brilliant time and is looking forward to the weekend away to Butlins in April.

Check out and like my FB page for the cake I did Darcie...www.facebook.com/GemsCakes1355

GaryBuseysTeeth · 03/08/2013 04:34

seven, hope the entire BIL situation isn't stressing you all out too much, like Northen says given the history, unless he has a bloody excellent defence (presuming he's guilty) it sounds like he may get custodial, however they don't seem to give the longest sentences for 'just' possesion so I doubt he'd get longer than a year (don't quote me on that, just from past experience).
It is possible to download child porn without being aware of it, but I've only ever known it occur when someone is downloading other extreme porn/the illegal stuff (again, don't quote me on that!).

DH wants to go for a job in the department that deals with all the computer based crime but I've asked him not to...I'd rather he didn't spend his work day having to look through that sort of thing, which makes me feel really selfish as he's got the perfect skills/mentality for dealing with it. :(

Aethel, big boy bed!? Our babies are growing up! Hope he slept well tonight.

Queen, glad DD2 is ok after her experience at nursery & that you've got DD1 home!
Finished Christmas Present shopping for Ds1 (Boots have some happyland stuff half price atm) so I'll join you in the organised camp!

Hope you're having a lovely time in Italy mopsy!

In other news, completely forgot you're not on fb Northen so apologies for late update; DS2 arrived on Tuesday morning! Grin
He was 7lb 4 & 52cm at 38+3 (DS1 was 7lb 6 & 52cm at 39+6), and is doing well. However he does appear to have his bottom front teeth coming through (if I remember, DS1 had his first tooth at about 6wks, full set by just over a year) so I appear to make toothy boys!
He's sleeping atm, I'm only up as my milk is in (formula feeding) & I'm in a bit of pain...labour was lovely compared to DS1. Feeling so much more human than I did after having him.
DS1 has accepted he's here to stay & waved good night to him last night!

BJR · 03/08/2013 06:38

Congratulations Gary, glad to hear it went well and DS1 has accepted his brother is here to stay! Enjoy your newborn snuggles, makes me all broody remembering how yummy they smell when they're tiny!

Figgygal · 03/08/2013 06:51

Congratulations gbt remember to come back and tell us the name when u have it!! Glad it all went well Grin

QueenofClean · 03/08/2013 07:49

Congratulations Gary Smile

QueenofClean · 03/08/2013 08:01

Gary well done on the organised front Grin I got another present this week so doing well so far.

Got DH anniversary present...Tickets to see The Lion King in London. So hope he likes it.

thekatsatonthematt · 03/08/2013 08:24

Smile Congratulations gary

Envy 40+2 here with no sign of imminent eviction. By 7.32 this evening I'll be more pregnant than I've ever been. Grin

If I can manage to evict baby tomorrow then it'll be 10 years to the day since my dad died. Which will make naming a boy easy...so I expect I'll have to be induced in 10 days and it will be a girl Wink

thekatsatonthematt · 03/08/2013 08:25

Off to check out boots com for happyland bargains....

Faffin · 03/08/2013 09:06

Congratulations Gary Grin

Hope you don't have to wait too much longer Kat

SevenReasonsToSmile · 03/08/2013 09:07

Congrats gary I hadn't been on fb. Glad to hear youre both doing well.

kat hope its not too much longer, you must be so uncomfortable in this heat and humidity!

I need to check out happyland bargains too.

Figgygal · 03/08/2013 09:33

Kat hope u not got too long to wait now my friend was due Tuesday and it's driving her mad having been induced when I went 2 weeks over I remember the pain!!

Have introduced DS to toy story this morning he has sat and watched all of it so far and we 40 minutes in. Dh emptying babies out of a fish tank so needs DS to not be under his feet and as im still in my dressing gown outside activities not an option Grin taking him to the national arboretum later to tire him out. I don't think I've ever actually watched toy story Shock

Aethelfleda · 03/08/2013 09:51

Hey, many congratulations Gary!!
Flowers , Flowers and a nice cuppa Brew

and I'm sure your time will come v soon Kat!

DS managed well, came to find us for a drink at midnight, though woke at 5am (medal for DH who played with him for 2.5 hours then we swapped. The early Grand Prix on telly I'm sure had nothing to do with his selflessness :). )

NorthernChinchilla · 03/08/2013 09:52

Oh congratulations Gary! Wonderful news, and hello little toothy boy Grin
So glad it all went well for you, and can't wait to hear all about him.

PerilousStiletto · 03/08/2013 21:02

Congratulations Gary!
Fab news!! (Aw! Broody!!) ds2 - it must be so lovely to be able to write that (dc2, dd - it's all just very lovely!!). Enjoy this wonderful time - we all know now just how quickly they all grow up! X

Xiaoxiong · 04/08/2013 00:05

Yay congrats Gary and welcome DS2 and his teeth Grin Hope all's going well feeding and winding and sleeping and newborning wise.

Kat I feel your impatience - I'm only 31 weeks and I am desperate to have DS2 and then never be pregnant again. I feel like Jabba the Hutt.

Figgygal · 04/08/2013 08:33

My friend had a baby at 4.47 this morning she was 4 days overdue and she was going bonkers as her DS was 3 days early .......sickeningly jealous!!

Peril last week u had potential pregnancy rage has it calmed/AF arrived or may a test be on the cards?

New thread needed soon Grin

PerilousStiletto · 04/08/2013 13:39

The pregnancy feelings had subsided, so I decided it must've just been me being REALLY crap.
AF came on Friday, however, it's really light. I don't do light. I do Texas chainsaw. Who knows what's going on?!
It's IronMan in Bolton today. We went out for dinner yesterday and were surrounded by all these glorious hunks wearing their iron man wristbands and wolfing down plates of pasta. Swoon-tastic! Grin
I say "hunks", they aren't. They are super fit, muscular marathon runners. ...yep, hunks. Phwoaar!
