Stick a towel on it WL. Definitely not teething yet. Could be comfort. Argh I really don't want to have to try to deal with bad sleep habits!

IsThatTrue · 30/05/2013 01:34

2nd wake up, but the first was at 10. So prob doesn't count, although I'd been asleep for half an hour already by then.

Could be thrush spotty eat lots of natural yoghurt (I eat a big tub of asda smart price yoghurt a day) it helps keep thrush at bay. This is usually enough for it to go away with me, although you may still need medication.

Really interesting about women's ability to pick up on non verbal cues pidj, I think I'd read that too. It should go to show why we can be so good at diplomacy (and hence the project management aspects of architecture, much as contractors like to think I'm there for the soft furnishings.. Hmm)

O was better today, although seems to be easier to distract and harder to get to sleep in the day. I've taken to hanging out in the internal bathroom as I can make it as dark as I need, which I think tricks him into thinking it's sleep time. My mother is here again for my day of work, which is lovely for all of us. Dh back on form and O larking about trying to make everyone laugh by laughing at them, which is good for morale.

Sorry about the sick wl, I think we all feel your pain!

We've had two wake ups already, which is unusual these days, but we're in another ww leap, which might explain it.
Not sure who asked about weaning but O is only 5 months now, so we're not there yet. We are experiencing new flavours though; tomato (cooked and raw,) pepper (ditto), pear, cucumber, carrot, mushroom, the inside of a kiwi skin and strawberry have all had a thorough sucking. He was reaching for my apple today so I let him have that, and he quite happily licked it the whole way home. Might get some proper blw sized/half body bibs and let him loose on softer food - he was covered in tomato pips by time he finished this afternoon.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 30/05/2013 04:18

Second wake up here but I just have a niggly feeling that this is it and he's up for the day. I can't cope with 4am get ups!

emilyeggs · 30/05/2013 06:24

Morning ladies, a few disturbed nights I see and one sore boob :( . Henry had another good night, got up with him at six (stupid sunlight). Hope this is the way it's going to stay but we all know how quickly it can go the other way. I may try some baby rice after his 11am feed....if he takes his milk well today fx I've got a feeling it's all too good to be true so wont be doing my happy dance just yet!

SpottyTeacakes · 30/05/2013 06:39

Blowing raspberries whilst feeding is a new one Hmm

We were up 10:30,1,3:30&6:30 up. Rubbish. And I have to have a blood test today.

utopian99 · 30/05/2013 06:48

Hope all goes well with the blood test and nipple issue spotty, Grin to blowing raspberries while feeding..

SpottyTeacakes · 30/05/2013 06:58

We've got five days until the next leap apparently Hmm I just picked ds up after a feed and there was a massive wet patch on his tummy. Nappy must have leaked. First time ever I was very confused Confused

Thanks utopian its just a routine one. Dd's off to MIL's today so an easy day for me

SpottyTeacakes · 30/05/2013 07:53

Oh and those bibs, you can get them in poundland. They're much better than others because they're smaller so your dc won't disappear under them and you won't care if they go mouldy, which mine always never do Wink

WLmum · 30/05/2013 09:37

Oh top tip on the bibs spotty will be checking out poundland. I'm not normall a fan of the disposable but you can get some big disposable bibs that have sticky bits around the edge to stick then to dc and stop them flapping around. Don't think they've got arms on them though.

DH let me have a long lie in as I'm still a bit rotten and T was up for hours in the night. Only 2 wakes up but each one lasted 2 hours! She's super snotty so I think that probably caused the sick and general unrest. Just feeding her to sleep for a nap then DH is going to go in the bedroom and shut the door for 2 hours as he's on lates and going to bed late and getting up early doesn't agree with him - he nearly fell asleep at work yesterday! He's a bit of a sleep wimp!

interwebmum · 30/05/2013 13:49

I just bought a hula hoop (the plastic ring not the crisps). I'm hoping it'll fix that last bit of podgy belly. OMG it's hard! I can't keep it up for more than two seconds. I did it in front of the mirror and I just look demented! Grin

itsmynutella Amelie used to go to sleep from shouty, but she's actually crying and screaming now, so only picking her up makes her stop Confused off for our second walk now... Grumble grumble..

FriendofDorothy · 30/05/2013 14:40

The Little Mister stinks today. He is delivering vile, rancid farts. He hasn't pooed for 36 hours and I am dreading his first weaning poo!

IsThatTrue · 30/05/2013 16:17

FoD we average 36-48 hrs for poos since weaning began, from 6+ a day Hmm it's not pretty when it happens tbh!

SpottyTeacakes · 30/05/2013 17:02

Ds has a sore willy just underneath in the crease, what's best? I'm not used to willies Grin

Barbeasty · 30/05/2013 17:02

We've gone the other way so far, from 1 a day to about 4 or 5.

Nursery settling seems to have gone well. No tears at all today, and I left him there for 3 hours this morning.

Still only took an ounce from a bottle though, so they gave him some rusk soaked in the milk which he ate some of. And he took a bit of water from a sippy cup too.

Took him to a baby group this afternoon and he tried a bit of pepper, cheese and cracker stuff. Then he tipped it all out to chew on the bowl!

SpottyTeacakes · 30/05/2013 17:05

Barbeasty ds never takes more than 2oz from a bottle I wonder if they're just used to little and often? I'm glad he enjoyed it I suspect it was harder on you!

ISpyPlumPie · 30/05/2013 17:06

We seemed to have moved over to a once every two days system for poos since weaning as well, with lots of smelly wind in between. When the dirty nappies do arrive, they are epic.

Finally got round to getting N weighed today - he's now 20lb 14oz. Thought my arms were getting a bit sore carrying him.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 30/05/2013 17:33

I had J weighed too, he's 14lb 14oz. The student HV was very anti pre-6 months weaning and was positively horrified that I gave him porridge. Apparently if I absolutely must I should stick to baby rice alone and definitely NO LUMPS I didn't mention the rice cake he had whilst waiting for me to unpack the shopping or the melon he sucked Wink

SpottyTeacakes · 30/05/2013 17:38

Wow ISpy what a weight!

How odd WillYou especially considering baby rice is just bulk Hmm did you smile and nod?! I think the sooner they're on lumpy food the better!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 30/05/2013 17:40

I smiled and nodded Spotty then told her I think he's ready so I'm going to keep giving him porridge. Baby rice surely has no nutritional value? At least oats have a bit of something about them!

SpottyTeacakes · 30/05/2013 18:55

So once again ds had about 2oz at six but completely refused a bottle just now. Starting to worry if I will ever get him to sleep without boob Confused

FriendofDorothy · 30/05/2013 19:11

Oh dear Lord. The first post-weaning poo has landed. It was unbelievable!

SkiBunnnnny · 30/05/2013 19:22

Oh dear, now I'm worried about weaning poos!

We signed the lease on our new house last night. So excited to get some more room and the garden is huge so we will definitely be getting a paddling pool for DS this summer. They also said to us "if its too much work to move the trampoline, would you mind if we left it here?" DH's eyes lit up! He's just a child at heart!

We have practically no furniture atm though, so it's going to be a bit bare for a while!

IsThatTrue · 30/05/2013 19:27

48 hrs and counting without poo Hmm

Yay on new house ski

I am very bored of DS waking 15-45 mins after I put him down to finish the feed that he fell asleep halfway through, when I couldn't wake him for all the tea in china! At least I was only preparing dinner not actually cooking it Hmm

ddas · 30/05/2013 19:41

ski congrats on the house- it'll be great for your lo to have space to explore outside.

spotty hope you nipple pain has cleared up.

wlmum hope you feel better soon. Hard to recover when you're up all night!

Willyoudo glad dd isn't on her own at her wee 13lb hearing of all these 20lb babies on the thread!

Can't remember who asked but we're very vaguely following the gina ford routine- have just taken what I like and adapted it to us. Our hours seem to change most days due to what we're doing or how tired/hungry she is. So guess we follow the structure of it as in how many naps/feeds with similar timings but our way. Dd is still also in our room, we co sleep a lot and don't do any cc but think with all these things people look in horror if you mention gina ford but we are all intelligent mums who are capable of reading a book and taking what we want from it without following it to the letter or all the principles!! Sorry that was a bit of a rant!

Dd has been getting on all fours past week and desperately trying to crawl but not getting very far making her a very angry baby!!
