R has a jellykat dragon and a lamaze peacock clipped to the sides which keep him calm. I'm also careful not to over dress him, it's warmer in the back of my car than the front. He's usually just in clothes, no blankets although i put a light (aran weight acrylic crocheted) one over him after he got cold at the beach today. I think because he's normally wrapped, he wears fewer clothes than most babies. Push chair babies i see seem to be either swamped under pram suits and blankets or burning their cold legs in shorts
R was fine today (sunny and breezy) in lined corduroy trousers, long sleeved vest and light knitted jumper (sirdar baby bamboo, thanks Aunty Roz!) well, up until the sun went in at 5pm in the cliff top cafe! Are the ragey babies dressed for a pushchair and therefore too hot?
Not trying to be patronising btw, my friend was doing this to her 4mo - and using her dc's hand as a guide to temperature. Things got better for her since i told her R's hands are normally freezing due to being slobbered on so i go by the back of his neck! Child now wears noticeably fewer layers and is often seen in a sling despite Mum's initial horror. I appear to have converted half the village
