Det only if you can get icing sweetener and caster sweetener?

I avoid sweeteners though as they make you crave sweet things and are addictive. We make pancakes out of egg, flour and oatmilk which must be pretty syn free? until I smother them in maple syrup

Pikz · 07/05/2013 21:49

PR thank you for the cunting swearing fucking lesson! Grin
As a skydiving widow I can't lend all the angry skydivers parachutes.

I didn't sell the baby. He's in bed.

Passmethecrisps · 07/05/2013 21:52

Phew pikz. Shame there isn't a baby rental though.

TheDetective · 07/05/2013 21:55

No idea YW!

It isn't syn free waaaaah! Milk is high in syns. I can have 375mls skimmed milk per day, or cheese. Not both. :( Same for bread and cereal! If you want both one is syned. GRRR!

BigPigLittlePig · 07/05/2013 21:58

Pass I too wonder that. I would like more than 1, but cannot imagine anything comparing to F. Ever. She is awesome.

Aqua-aerobics was a total fucking balls up. F did a poo during bedtime so was wide awake, dh took her and said "go, we'll be fine" then rang 7 minutes later to say they were in fact, not fine. Hysterical screams in the background. Plus hayfever has turned into a full on fucking bastarding cold so feel like total shite. So I came home. F is brewing the same cold, coughing and sneezing like a good un. She's currently crashed out on my lap with calpol on board.

Fucksticks.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 07/05/2013 22:00

Thanks for the holiday well wishes. I've actually just booked another holiday tonight. This time for Sept!

Shall take lots of pics, will miss thread tho :(

J is feeding. Taxi booked for 3:10am!!!

I'm aiming for a few hours sleep :) x

BigPigLittlePig · 07/05/2013 22:06

3.10 Shock Still it will be nice when we're all up feeding at that hour to think that at least one of us is up through choice because they're off on a lurvely holiday. Drink many cocktails and enjoy izzy

YellowWellies · 07/05/2013 22:07

I bet oat milk isn't high in syns Det that's what we use now I'm dairy free.

Passmethecrisps · 07/05/2013 22:10

Dudes. Any ideas if a dairy free weaning book exists?

Evilwater · 07/05/2013 22:13

Hello a mixed day at evils'
n is off his antibiotics, and I'm feeling better. Yay! Grin he's had strawberries for lunch, liked the taste but not the skin.

Now for the bad, phoned work, and the boss if on hoilday for a week and they have changed the work times. So it will be much harder to but him in nursery. Just fucking great..... And P is still insisting that we don't need childcare. What a knob. Appently his mum will do it all, I've spoken to her and she says that nursey is good. So... What the fuck?? Confused

Nite all.
Evil

TheDetective · 07/05/2013 22:14

We've been searching tonight pass I'll link what I find when I find something!

YW 100ml is between 2-3 syns depending on manufacturer! 100mls... waaaaah!

Elizadoesdolittle · 07/05/2013 22:17

Hi all, have been skim reading but not had chance to post much lately.

I've completley forgotton all I was going to say so will just wave to all and give hugs, Flowers and sympathy for all those that need them.

E seems to have turned a corner with weaning and is really getting it now. But I guess she has come a long way since we started way back when we were in hospital. She seems really happy with the puree but can't wait to introduce finger foods to add the BLW element in. Will start doing that at the end of this week. Haven't done papaya, will add to the tesco delivery since it's been such a hit with the quiche babies. She hasn't yet had any meat or protein so will introduce that too. She's 6 months on Thursday. Where the hell has the time gone?

It's DH's birthday tomorrow so out for dinner. Looking forward to that. Going to our favourite local chinese restaurant. And treating myself to a haircut too. Anyone would think it was my birthday!

YellowWellies · 07/05/2013 22:21

I've got a dairy free weaning leaflet (somewhere) from the dietician - I don't really need it as I'm pretty up to speed with dairy free eating Envy - so if I can find it Pass I can pass it on at the Stirling meet when we set a date. Det I could get DH to make a copy at work if you like?

Kyzordz · 07/05/2013 22:29

E is 6 months today. He had his photos done and was weighed, he is 19lbs 4oz. Am apparently doing something right. Fucking don't know what. Tried mash today. Figured potato was basic. He kicked up a fuss, then gagged, then puked. Very cross with butternut and parsnip sticks too. Gave up. He'll be fine on milk forever I'm sure. Courgette and pepper went badly, think I cooked them too long and I forgot and left the skin on the pepper. It wouldn't purée so I threw it. I'll try again tomorrow to make more for all the good it'll do. Had a teary afternoon kicking myself for ever thinking I could do this. Then kicking myself for being so ott and dramatic, then feeling guilty for being so rubbish and then feeling worse than guilty for bitching and worrying so much when some people have some serious problems. I have a baby who hates veg. Hardly the end of the world!

Sorry about your dad izzy that's awful :( I hope you have a nice holiday :)

So much to reply to but can't remember most of it.

Happy 7 months day to h daisychain

What else? Fuck sake!!!

pass hope you feel better soon, you too bplp and f, bless her

det some sw recipes are amazing but some are foul. Really grim!! Mum has like every book I think! I love the chicken wrapped in bacon thingy and chicken spinach and potato curry

PurplePidjin · 07/05/2013 22:29

Hurrah, dream feed has involved R both remaining asleep and feeding! Please may i have some sleepy dust and i promise to be less up my own arse mememe tomorrow?

ChasingDaisy · 07/05/2013 22:30

pass and pig I have exactly the same thoughts. I would love another baby but there is no way they could be as amazing as O. He's the best thing in the world. Ever. I feel incredibly connected to him, we have an awesome bond.

Mind, another baby might actually fucking sleep. 2.5 hours. Worst ever. We never get less than 4 for the first stint. Fuck.

Pig I have everything crossed that you get some decent sleep tonight.

Izzy have a brilliant time! Smile

Passmethecrisps · 07/05/2013 22:34
Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 07/05/2013 22:34

My alarm is set for 3hrs and 40mins. It'd be lovely if J could manage to sleep til then as well!!

Night!

ChasingDaisy · 07/05/2013 22:34

Kyz you are doing nothing wrong sweetheart Thanks I would imagine that potato is a bit claggy, hence the gagging.

O gagged on broccoli today and then sicked it back up, before demanding more. It's all a learning experience for them at the moment. There is absolutely no pressure. You have been doing a fucking wonderful job, shown by E growing to a wonderful weight Smile

TheDetective · 07/05/2013 22:45

Kyz have you tried adding his milk to the purees? I have added milk, and milk and baby rice to a few, and then given them without once used to it. Turns out only one that he really needed the milk for was sweet potato so far, but it is an option. You may have mentioned this, but my brain is, erm, lacking in capacity at the moment!

YW I'll take whatever you can offer me! O has a paed appt on 30th May, and Dietician on 31st, so we still have 3 weeks of tentative weaning to get through!

He loved courgette tonight. He really hasn't turned his nose up at anything yet. The milk hater loves food. DS1 the milk lover hated food. Sense a theme?!!!

DS1 doesn't hate food now. Quite the opposite Grin. Although he doesn't eat enough variety of veg for my liking. He is good with fruit though, so I try to pick battles gently!

PetiteRaleuse · 07/05/2013 22:46

Enjoy izzy

kyz DD1 used to gag on potato. I think it is quite sticky and starchy so quite hard as a first food. LO is eating much better now we have started to introduce meat. I gave her some of my thick chicken and veg soup tonight and she loved it. It's easier to peel peppers once roasted. Red and yellow ones are sweeter than green and DON'T WORRY.

TheDetective · 07/05/2013 22:47

With the pepper, I just scrapped a little of the pulp off once roasted, and let him suck bits off my finger. Courgette was cut in to thick slices, then each one cut in half, so he could suck on the pulp.

It's all a learning curve!

Perhaps we should all try and take pics of what we are doing with foods for our babies and stick em on fb! I haven't taken any weaning pics yet as food covered babies sends me in to the heebie geebies, and I am trying to control myself in not wiping every 2 seconds!!

TheDetective · 07/05/2013 22:49

I think E might just want to be a BLW kyz! DS1 had the slowest start to weaning ever. Think he was on 1 meal a day til 7 months. He really wasn't interested, and I didn't mind what he did, I just assumed he would take it when ready. He was definitely over 1 once food became the main part of his diet.

PurplePidjin · 07/05/2013 23:01

Pass can you check the date on that please, I'm up afuckinggain Angry

Kyzordz · 07/05/2013 23:03

I have added milk det but possibly not enough. The mash was like very creamy looking our mash and probably was too sticky. Think it was a bit too close to a bottle too and he probably got frustrated with me. I think fb pics is a good idea. E is a milk lover, so guess weaning will be a toughie!

I really need to get over the choking thing don't I?

And tomorrow I will learn how to make baby rice. Was thinking of trying carrot again tomorrow :/ or parsnip. I have both in purée form, and carrot in stick form. Parsnip is roasted, or boiled. I did both Blush.

Do you cook the broccoli chasing? So far I have had more success with strips of fruit than with purée. I wanted to do puréed but maybe if he is given strips/his own food he can feel like its less forced. He always tries everything if he's given it on his tray, but usually clamps right shut and moans when I try to get purée in.

Forgot, result! Some black threads in his poo, banana swallowed?!?
On one hand I want to give him fruits as he likes them but on the other hand I am desperate for him to like veg. Maybe that's the problem. I'm too hellbent on getting veg into him?!

pr green was all I had, but it was a yellow one he liked sucking on. I'll go for yellow and try again! I daren't introduce meat as he won't eat veg and i'm supposed to do everything for 3 days when it's new aren't I, but if he snubs any kind of savoury purée how will I get meat in there?! Unless I do a kind of soup as you have. Would he be ok with a bunch of stuff he's tasted bunged in the slow cooker, say parsnip, carrot and then chicken? If its thin enough he might try it, he seems to hate new textures though! Also haven't given him yoghurt yet, in case he decides he'll eat yet another sweet thing, but not savoury!

Thankyou all, so much. You've no idea how helpful you all are. I think I'd actually be a mess right now if it weren't for you all
