Oh bugger! I knew there was something else!

kyz! PLEASE don't abandon us. This thread is supposed to be fun and supportive - it shouldn't be another chore which needs done. Most of us have days where the refresh button is worn out but other times when we barely have time to pee let alone read pages of chat.

There is nothing wrong with simply popping on to say hi or ask a quick question. Noone is keeping tabs on name checks.

PetiteRaleuse · 06/05/2013 08:35

No no kyz no-one is keeping tabs

Gooooood Moooorning!

Well the little rascal slept until 8 and we have had cake for breakfast ( not J obviously ) he seems in a good mood and is almost bouncing himself out of his chair.

Lily do they have Ikea in Hungary? I cannot imagine furniture shopping without Ikea. I look forward to hearing all about your purchases.

Kyz do not go x

Stunt good news on 7 hours.

Hugs for all who had bad nights. I think last night I was more annoyed with myself than anything as I had not made enough formula. I never dreamed he would polish off 9 oz in the middle of the night. He only had 4 bottles in the day, but overall drank more than usual.

Papaya again today, and I plan to cook the huge parsnips I bought yesterday. Once I can find the kitchen under the mass of washing up from DHs cake making. Lovely cake, but I wish he would clear up after himself.

J is transfixed by Peppa Pig, with occasional smiles Grin

VQ we are thinking of moving to the Belgian side of the border with Lux and yesterday as we were driving across the border, past the ikea, me and DH commented that one of the positives would be being close to ikea.

A few years ago ikea applied for permission to build a store in Luxembourg, and the gov't said no, didn't want to contribute to the homogenisation of culture, harm independent furniture stores. So ikea said, ok, we'll go to Belgium, and bought literally the next plot lf land over the border. So everyone in Lux goes to the ikea in Belgium, within about 30 miles of the vast majority of the population of the country, and as you eat your horseballs you can look out of the café window, straight into Luxembourg.

I love ikea during term time weekdays between the hours pf 9 and 3. Won't set foot in the place the rest of the time.

BigPigLittlePig · 06/05/2013 09:35

Chasing sorry you had a shit night. Ditto anybody else - names escape me.

Kyz you're run off your feet at the moment, so I suppose we might forgive you if you can't keep up Wink - in all seriousness though, don't apologise, just remember that we're here if you need us.

Evil that's v cool.

YW bleddy cats. Ours likes to stalk and chase other cats and birds, insects etc but if they turn iin his direction he sprints back to the back door and howls.

So. Last Night.
Decided to co-sleep as illness/reflux/teething/whatever the fuck it is, meant she was v unsettled.
7.30 bed
9 up screaming, calpol given, fed
9.30 bed with me. Not that I slept. Just nodding off when...
11 up for an hour long feed
1.30 dh came to check on us as I was once again nodding off
2.30 nightmare about F drowning hideous hideous hideous, v graphic
4.45 up for a feed
5.15 onwards, wriggling and squirming and farting.

I feel like I'm getting a virus too, scratchy throat and runny nose although could be hayfever - wondering whether F has had similar, hence the nose rubbing the past few days and sudden deterioration in sleep.

Bleurgh. At least it's sunny today.

fruitpastilles · 06/05/2013 10:05

Just tried S with papaya for breakfast, she was very unsure of it, the first thing she's turned her nose up at. I now see what you all mean aswell, I was undecided aswell. It has a funny smell I think and that put me off a bit. So after spoon feeding her it didn't go down to well I just chunked some up and put it on her tray, turns out she prefers playing with it than eating it.

BrewThanks To all those with shit nights, although judging by the quietness on Fred last night it doesn't seem to be many Smile

YellowWellies · 06/05/2013 10:26

VQ parsnip is a v good food for refluxy babes unless they are prone to wind - given Jacob seems to be as much of a martyr to his colon as Jonas it might be worth avoiding for a wee while. I speak from very shrieky farty experience a couple of weeks ago. Dietician said if wind is an issue go for carrot, butternut squash or pear xxx

I'm so grateful to my wee boy. Woke up this morning with the most god awful blocked duct so that half my left boob was a sore, hard, hot, painful mess - after a hot shower, boob massage, hot compress, breast pump nothing was working and I was panicking about mastitis - so I put captain suction on it and in 20 mins he's cleared it. Thing is it was the top of the boob that was sore so we didn't half have to contort ourselves to get his bottom jaw on that side Grin Grin not exactly a normal nursing position.

Kyz Wink x

PR love that spreadsheet gag Grin Grin Grin Grin

YellowWellies · 06/05/2013 10:29

Oh and blocked duct caused by yoga floor exercises that yoga teacher (who is also a BF counsellor) warned me to avoid as might cause blocked ducts - I'm such a fecktard for not following good advice. I knew at the time when I felt my hefty weight crushing said boob onto the floor that it wasn't the smartest thing I've ever done. Hmm

ChasingDaisy · 06/05/2013 11:09

Ah YW O had his first taste of parsnip yesterday and we had a very bad night due to wind. D'oh.

ValiumQueen · 06/05/2013 11:37

No parsnip then Sad I had forgotten about it being linked to wind. Thank you for the reminders.

I have butternut squash in the veg tray, and carrot and pear in the freezer, both of which he has had before.

YW so glad J sorted your boobie.

Any other little boys grab their willie the second the nappy is off? The first time he did it he yelped. Now he giggles.

Passmethecrisps · 06/05/2013 12:38

P likes to give her fanjo a good ole scratch. Makes me laugh every time

Passmethecrisps · 06/05/2013 12:42

Kiwi fruit? Yes or no?

TheDetective · 06/05/2013 13:15

Widgey grabber here too VQ. In fact, he plays with it rather too much. Hmm He loves it being wiped with wipes. Actually, he loves being wiped with both a very cold flannel, and a warm one all over him. Hmm

He was up around 4 last night. I feel like a fucking tight cow. I should have been more explicit in my instructions to DP who I kicked out of bed to attend to O as I felt so fucking ill and had barely slept due to my own coughing. He rocked him back to sleep. If I'd of known it was 4, I'd of said feed him. Anything after 3am he can feed if he wants it. I don't mind one waking! It is 2 feeds I object to! Anyway, he said 10 minutes of rocking and patting, and he went back off. Til 6.50. So that is good.

He is definitely slightly more chilled. We test out how relaxed he is by putting him on the playmat. When he is in reflux hell the playmat makes him explode with anger. Confused So today he was happy on it. Well, I say on it, around it as he rolled and assumed the crawling ready to pounce position.

PR and pass Grin. That is all!

Chasing I'm not sure. I know O has been grabbing at his ears the past month, perhaps longer. I keep pointing it out to DP, but he just shrugs. I'm not sure why he is doing it. Seems to do it more when tired?

BP My mantra, sleep is for wimps, seems fitting for you today. Some days I don't know how we survive on so little.

TheDetective · 06/05/2013 13:16

I have to sing O's feeds in to him btw. He still gives me the 'are you shitting me' look when offered the new formula. I have never been so sick of twinkle twinkle in my entire life.

PetiteRaleuse · 06/05/2013 13:18

Youtube is your friend Detective

Lots of children's songs some you can singalong too as they put the lyrics up.

TheDetective · 06/05/2013 13:21

Oh he just wants twinkle twinkle at the moment fussy bugger. Also, it is about all I can manage with this stupid cold. Which hasn't fucked off yet.

I think I have an ear infection too. Angry Crap coming out of ears, and they hurt :(

TheDetective · 06/05/2013 13:23

I found out last week at a baby group I know far far too many nursery rhymes. I know this because a lot of the ones I suggested (we each pick a song to sing) were unknown by the woman who runs the group. And she is a qualified playworker. You know you sing too much to your baby when those qualified in child work don't know half the nursery rhymes you do!

PurplePidjin · 06/05/2013 13:37

Willy grabber here too, although not half as much fun as feet Hmm

Greedy piggy boy just polished off a cube of parsnip, a cube of sweet potato, 2 tsp rice, 1 heaped tsp pureed cauliflower and 1/8 of a banana. He then joined to sleep. Where has it all gone?! He's a teensy little 12lb squish! He had porridge for breakfast too. Hopefully when I get him full enough he'll sleep at night - he actually rejected the boob in favour of solids by making a funny singing noise while feeding/fussing. I've only just figured out that was what he was telling me, though...

StuntNun · 06/05/2013 14:00

I don't know if anyone remembers waaaay back six months ago I was traumatised because my baby was due any day and we still hadn't found his cot bedding? Well DH found it yesterday! Unbe-fucking-lievable. Along with some clothes that J has long since grown out of. What's the point of living with a hoarder when you haven't got all the 'things that may come in handy one day' when you actually need them. FFS makes me wonder what other great stuff is up there in the loft. Grrrr.

OP posts:
ValiumQueen · 06/05/2013 16:23

I remember that Stunt. That happens here too.

PP feel free to tell me to feck off, but be careful that your little man does not have too many solids. He still needs to have lots and lots of lovely milk, and the best way to ensure that is to offer boob or bottle first.

TheDetective · 06/05/2013 18:17

I remember stunt! Fecking men!

This has to be the quietest afternoon on record here!

Been enjoying the sunshine everyone?!

O has dropped a bottle today. He tried to do it yesterday and the day before actually. But today I've let him go with the flow. I don't let him cry for a bottle any more, other than when he wakes in the morning obviously! Can't do much about that one Grin. Today I gave him a feed at 11 as he hadn't wanted one yet. Then I saw the signs about 3pm, where as normally he would have them 6-7, 10-11,1-2,5ish, then bed time. The 5ish one has been dropped and the others spaced out.

He is still having the same amount of solids, I've not increased it. It might have something to do with the fact he doesn't like the formula, and takes it begrudgingly!

I really hope he doesn't want the dropped feed at 2am arghhhh!!
