WeeJo08 · 19/04/2013 12:53

Oh spotty Hmm You poor thing. I would prescribe several Maltesers bars to which, incidentally, thanks to you mentioning them, I am now addicted Grin

Secondsop · 19/04/2013 12:54

spotty that really is the most rotten luck getting a blocked duct after just 3 hours :( Hope it isn't too painful.

Secondsop · 19/04/2013 12:55

I still haven't had a Malteser bar!

utopian99 · 19/04/2013 13:16

Seymour I'm an architect, plus a bit of property development on the side. Trying to make it all work well enough that I can remain self employed and therefore set flexible hours around giving enough time to ds without needing childcare. Mostly it works but sometimes I just feel like I'm being a heartless cow dumping him in his play gym so I can speak to engineers etc. (Obviously I NEVER leave him crying or upset in favour of work, I just feel like a slacker for not working full time and a failure as a mother for not mothering full time sometimes. )

Spotty so sorry about the boob again!
Sympathy and Brownies for all of us with sleep issues. Ds is still 2-hourly at the moment too apart from in bed with us..

Hales as others have said, there's no benefit in comparison even though we all do it. A year from now all sorts of things will be different and I'm sure we'll feel better too! and have a new raft of worries

SpottyTeacakes · 19/04/2013 14:09

Front to back roll!

I think I'm going to start massaging my boobs in the bath and then with the towel after as a preventative measure once I get rid of this

WeeJo08 · 19/04/2013 14:14

Spotty In the bath with several Maltesers bars I hope?? Wink

SpottyTeacakes · 19/04/2013 14:20

Oh I wish! I do love them might have to get dp to pick me some up Smile

WeeJo08 · 19/04/2013 14:57

Have any of you guys used Teetha granules? The packet says "empty contents if sachet into your child's mouth"...that sounds suspiciously easy, which usually means I won't manage it!!

SpottyTeacakes · 19/04/2013 15:00

Used them loads with dd WeeJo they are that easy Smile

WeeJo08 · 19/04/2013 15:11

And would you recommend them, Spotty?

SpottyTeacakes · 19/04/2013 15:19

Yep we found them really good

SkiBunnnnny · 19/04/2013 16:13

Hello ladies, I'm back after being sans Internet for a few days. The router is upstairs in the main house in which nobody lives (is the landlords holiday house) so when it needs reset I have to go in the garage and turn off the power to the main house for 10 secs. However, the landlords have decided we have to give back our key to the garage which means next time it goes out I won't be able to reset it, the Internet is my only connection to the outside world! Also, we have to remove all the skis, snowboards, golf bags and buggies from the garage and find somewhere to keep them in our tiny 1bedroom basement suite... :(

Sleep is a lot better here, I feel like he doesn't really need to feed in the night anymore but I still usually give one, sometimes two, because he is wide awake and it's the quickest way to get him to fall back asleep. A bit frustrated by daytime naps as they only last about half an hour but then he starts being grumpy and fussy 45 mins later sometimes. I just wish he would sleep for longer but less frequently.

There are no fun baby groups to go to near me but I am going to meet up with the people I did my birthing class with on Saturday. Unfortunately it means driving to town (an hour away) with LO on my own in DH's big scary truck and I'm kind of a nervous driver atm just because I hardly ever do. However, it gives me a good excuse to pick up a few things before our trip to Ottawa on Monday. I still don't fit in to most of my clothes :(

I called the airline yesterday about getting a bassinet on the flight. They were so effing rude Angry. But anyway, there are not bassinets on domestic flights so we'll have to hold him the whole way. At least I have DH with me so we can share.

Oops sorry for the essay Blush

IsThatTrue · 19/04/2013 16:20

weejo teethas are great, they shut DS up immediately!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 19/04/2013 16:29

DS loves them, he recognises the packet and opens his mouth for them so it's dead easy!

SpottyTeacakes · 19/04/2013 16:58

I've text dp and said that only a malteser bar could make me feel better and even that would be temporary, let's see what he comes home with HmmGrin

IsThatTrue · 19/04/2013 17:23

I've just realised DS went 4 hrs without a feed. I got him to sleep at 1.45 and he slept for 2hrs 15 minutes Shock (unheard of recently) then I was trying to eeek him out until I finished work at 4.10 but the men turned up to fix until next time the broken down boiler so I tried to eek him out until I got the kids from clubs. Out in the buggy he rarely shouts unless he's starving so that was fine, then when we got back I had 15mins to organise the big dcs for their dad to pick them up so reeked him out then, and then had 10 mins if work to do. So he only got to start feeding at 5.15, 4hrs after his last feed, usually he only goes 2!!

Sorry that ended up being really long!

ski that sucks about your landlord, have you spoken to them about the Internet and other possible solutions? Why are they kicking you out of the garage anyway?

OP posts:
WillYouDoTheFandango · 19/04/2013 17:47

J's refusing to wake up may be all the drugs I've had to give him and I've got a bridesmaid fitting in 30mins, 15 mins away and he needs a bottle. Awesome!

SkiBunnnnny · 19/04/2013 18:17

Don't worry isthat I'm sure he would have let you know if he was hungry! I'm not sure exactly why they've kicked us out except that we were never supposed to use it at all but they let us in the winter (unless someone was staying upstairs) so that DH wouldn't have to dig his truck out of the snow every morning. I'm not sure how to ask about the Internet without explaining my previous solution which I don't think they would appreciate...

SpottyTeacakes · 19/04/2013 20:22

I'm in soooo much pain

SkiBunnnnny · 19/04/2013 20:58

Oh dear, your poor boob spotty! Did you get your malteaser bar? I don't think they exist in Canada Envy

SkiBunnnnny · 19/04/2013 21:01

DH just called to say there has been a cougar spotted in the village Shock now I am too scared to take LO for a walk this afternoon

SpottyTeacakes · 19/04/2013 21:21

Grin Ski

No I didn't as dp was stuck in traffic after an accident so I told him just to come home.

I've just had a bath and did my best at massaging not sure it made a difference though.

SpottyTeacakes · 19/04/2013 21:46

I think I got it Grin doesn't even feel bruised now. Fx for a bit of sleep tonight....!

SkiBunnnnny · 19/04/2013 22:30

Yay Spotty! I'm sending some sleepy dust your way.

Secondsop · 19/04/2013 23:26

Well done Spotty!

We are quite pleased with ourselves for getting Z in the cot early the first time we tried with a monitor, and then having a couple of hours to ourselves downstairs. We didn't buy an actual monitor - I thought i'd try an app called best baby monitor which works between 2 apple devices as an audio and video monitor. It seemed pretty good.
