Yeah get the liquid, tip onto finger, wipe around gums! Bob's your uncle!

I do whatever works for me with the sleep and touch wood I know I've been incredibly lucky.

SpottyTeacakes · 18/04/2013 06:09

Everyone too tired to post?! Ds was up at:

10
00:30 (took ages to go back to sleep I woke up with him asleep on my chest at 02:00)
03:45
06:00 (up for the day now Hmm)

When I was trying to get him back go sleep at about one I was obviously pretty grumpy and it really annoys me that dp's answer is always 'well we'll have to start giving him formula' it makes me feel really shit and like he's got no appreciation for what I've been doing that past four and a half months Angry

Rant over Grin WillYou I hope j had a pain free night?

Haven't heard from WL or eggs for a bit?

WillYouDoTheFandango · 18/04/2013 06:53

Just got up, high five Jamie!

You're doing great Spotty, he probably just sees it as you FF DD and she's fine so it's not a big deal. Whereas we know how hard you've worked to BF, especially after he was FF in SCBU.

Equimum · 18/04/2013 07:02

Glad your LOs hips are okay weejo

spotty really feel for you.

After a rubbish day yesterday with screaming and wackiness mummy lots, DS woke every hour from 1.30 and seemed to develop a new game in between. It resembled musical statues, with lots of movement and noise until I looked over the side of the cot, at which point he'd lay dead still and quiet! Confused

Is it bad to want coffee and cake before 7am! Blush

SpottyTeacakes · 18/04/2013 07:08

Thanks WillYou

Equimum I often have cake for breakfast, if it's homemade it's healthy you know Wink and I can't function without coffee!

IsThatTrue · 18/04/2013 07:09

Yay for good hips weejo

It's great you got some sleep willyou

Sorry to hear dps arsiness spotty I'd be quite affronted if DH suggested I just put DS on formula as an answer to everything.

Well DS slept 10.30-4 and 4.30-7!!!! I feel awake for the first time in weeks! Woohoo! He was in bed at 8 but fed at 9 and 10. Although I'm not complaining after what followed!

SpottyTeacakes · 18/04/2013 07:12

IsThat you give me hope as in pretty your ds started his bad sleeping not long before ds so hopefully we haven't got long left (fx!)

Equimum · 18/04/2013 07:17

is that that's fab sleeping; hope it continues for you

WeeJo08 · 18/04/2013 08:10

Good night here - 8:30 - 7am I think. Heading to Mums & Babies this morning Smile I first went before we went on hols and it was so nice to meet other Mums! Do any of you go to any groups? Hubby away to London on business this morning, just for the day thankfully.

IsThatTrue · 18/04/2013 08:28

weejo we go to toddlers on a thurs but that's it as I work from home the rest of the week.

Tired boy can't quite last until the school run for his nap anymore, he's shouting at me because he's tired !

OP posts:
SpottyTeacakes · 18/04/2013 08:34

Ds's already been napping for 45 minutes!

MaMaPo · 18/04/2013 08:44

C's been asleep an hour already - with a little help she is getting better at prolonging her naps.

Ok night - big feed at 10 after going down at 7, then fed at 3 and up at 6.30. It should be fine but I am crap at getting back to sleep after the 3am feed, plus she's noisy and sometimes needs the dummy from 5. But all things considered her sleep isn't a problem.

Weejo - your sleep! I can't imagine C doing that - she has big feeds in the night, plus she's a strapping girl! We go to a bf support group, which actually is just a nice room full of toys and a place to sit about, chat and drink tea. I went to baby bounce at the library a few times but the singing was so awful I couldn't bear it!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 18/04/2013 08:54

I go to baby sensory on Mondays and baby bubble and rhyme (singing) on Thursdays. I want to go to swim tots but DP wants to take him with me the first time so he'll be about 16 when we get round to it!

SpottyTeacakes · 18/04/2013 09:08

We don't have any baby groups like that round here Sad

Ds has been asleep an hour and fifteen minutes Shock his morning nap is usually 40 and dd and I are being quite noisy!

Barbeasty · 18/04/2013 09:24

We'd have got a good 3 or 4 hour stint at the start of the night, if DD hadn't woken up desperate for a wee. DH dealt with it, but it woke me up. Mind you, it was her first dry night.

We go to Bounce & Rhyme at the library on a Monday morning and a playgroup in the afternoon. I've been taking A for a swimming lesson on Tuesdays, but next week is the last one. Wednesday is Bumps and Babes, and the last few weeks I've had a post natal course run by the children's centre. This afternoon I might go to a new baby group the children's centre are starting in our village. Friday I normally do the shopping, now that DD's dance classes aren't running this term.

I will go back to work for a rest!

IsThatTrue · 18/04/2013 09:27

spotty maybe he likes the noise? DS finds it incredibly hard to sleep in silence as he's so used to having the big dcs around creating havoc!

Well he stayed awake in the sling for the school run, had 5 mins in the buggy with me pushing once home but woke wanting noob, went back to sleep and now we're on the way to toddlers!

SpottyTeacakes · 18/04/2013 12:41

I'm getting a spray tan next week GrinGrinGrin hopefully it will stop me looking so dead!

IsThatTrue · 18/04/2013 12:52

Screamy mc screamerson this afternoon :( walking round the garden singing hush little baby!

ISpyPlumPie · 18/04/2013 12:58

Weejo - great news about the scan and also fantastic sleep.

Willyou - sounds like you've found the solution for teething. Glad you got some rest.

Spotty - agree that your DP is being less than helpful and think Equimum is on to something in terms of him comparing the situation to your DD. They could just be very different anyway. FWIW, I've bf both times and (barring teething/ear infections) N generally settles far more easily than DS1 ever did. I also think the way you kept feeding going through SCBU was pretty wonderful actually.

FX everyone but it seems I've got my happy little chap back. He was still a bit unsettled yesterday evening but we were starting to get some giggles again. Much better night and he's been feeding/napping as usual today. He's now on his playmat like the chilled out dude he normally is Grin.

SpottyTeacakes · 18/04/2013 13:02

Thanks ISpy Smile

Ds wants feeding again and it's only been an hour...

IsThatTrue · 18/04/2013 13:20

We have retired to bed (I'm supposed to be working so shall be busy this evening Hmm) and little man is finally asleep. As long as my nipple remains in his mouth Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 18/04/2013 13:25

Make the most and have an afternoon nap IsThat! EnvyGrin

SpottyTeacakes · 18/04/2013 15:38

He. Will. Not. Stop. Crying.

Dd has just bought him her dolly's dummy Grin

Secondsop · 18/04/2013 15:59

We don't go to any groups yet. Now that we've got the big trip to Australia out of the way and my husband is back from India/Dubai we'll look some up.

spotty Z just had a long, frustrating spell of not stopping crying. I think he'd got overtired as his routine had got messed up by the cleaner coming. I might see if she can come in the mornings instead of in the afternoons as he's really settled into a routine of short morning nap, long afternoon nap. Am currently watching the King's Speech during his long nap!

MaMaPo · 18/04/2013 16:01

C has been all over the shop today - bright as a button, then bursts into tears. I think she's generally happy with some low level teething pain. Just had her 4 month jabs so that should make things extra fun. She was v brave, didn't start crying until second jab. Do I imagine she looked at me accusingly?

Spotty, I hope things calm down in your house soon.
