Today my mother has been around to help. First she headbutted DD1, then she trod on her toe and made it bleed, then she kicked DD2 in the head. Thankfully J has survived unscathed. She assures me all these were accidental injuries. [buconfused]

MissMummy1 · 29/03/2013 17:52

BIL and SIL are due in 10 mins. Should we open the betting stakes for when they will actually arrive?? Given we have a table booked for 7.30 and are meeting friends at 9, I am going to hazard a guess they will turn up somewhere around 11.30. Hmm

MissMummy1 · 29/03/2013 17:53

My mum bought M a buggy book and some bibs for easter. She bought me a chocabloc egg. I feel slightly hard done by as this is all we have!

Kyzordz · 29/03/2013 18:25

pass I take it back, that is much worse than e :( you have my sympathies.

Eric has an egg (I'm not sure why, I had no intention of getting him one, my mum got it for him. A superman outfit (aged 12-18 months, so he'll not be superman for a bit) and a monsters inc t-shirt, and a Lamaze toy. I so wish I had some kind of embarrassing Easter outfit for him!

vq did you survive your mothers visit unscathed? Least j did, the poor girls!

I cannot remember what is on the page before this one, I will have to check

ValiumQueen · 29/03/2013 18:29

kyz she did not manage to hurt me thankfully [bugrin]

Lily311 · 29/03/2013 19:13

Evening,

O is already in bed, I must wake her later as she didn't drink her milk, she was exhausted. She seemed to have found her feet, very amusing. Also my face, she licks it while giggling. Weird child.

I left the washing machine ovenight and set it up on the longest washing program this morning. It drained and spinned. Set up another wash and it worked again. I have no idea what was wrong and why it didn't do anything yesterday. Just hoping it will work, I am only staying here for another month.

O won't have any Easter egg. Neither will I. I spent every Easter in the past 8 years with OH's family, this year is the first one in London. I will make a fuss next year for O. Or not Grin.

ChasingDaisy · 29/03/2013 19:14

Ugh my legs feel like lead but weak at the same time. Thought I was about to faint a minute ago. Dont want to consult Dr.Google but hoping its just meds side effects.

TheDetective · 29/03/2013 19:16

Well, I am pleased to report that so far, pick up, put down is working really well. O is having his 3rd nap, in the cot. All naps today have been in the cot. We've had one waking before he was ready to get up. And he has been cool, calm and collected all day. Grin

He has done 9am get up, 10.15 feed, 10.30 nap in cot, waking at 1.10pm. Feed at 2pm, nap 3-4pm in cot. Feed at 6, then nap in cot from 6.30 til now. Bed time will be 8.30-9.

Each time we have done pick up put down, so he has self settled.

DP was doing different things previously, but he has now agreed to do what I am, so we have consistency.

Fingers crossed this continues I think we all know, it won't!!.

I should have maybe waited the clocks stopped fucking round!

He's got 2 clock changes in one week thanks to us going to Switzerland. I'm just going to keep him to BST when there, even though my dads wife will be utterly horrified at a child going to bed between 9-10pm. Tough shit!

PurplePidjin · 29/03/2013 19:46

Today it has mostly been hitting me just how stressful life is right now.

Passmethecrisps · 29/03/2013 19:59

Thanks ladies. I have been a bit passed myself with the small person today. detective I almost face palmed when I read your post questioning reflux. That could easily be it.

Basically, I just have no fucking idea. VQ you are right - she is a bouncing bundle of energy which wouldn't be the case if she was suffering too much from lack of calories. She is sleeping well and woul have slept longer this morning had I let her.

Having spent the day as a performing seal for my parents she is now massively overtired and can't sleep. We are off down to PIL tomorrow for the night. I don't think it would be going too far to say I am dreading it. It's my own fault - I have made a baby who knows what she wants and likes things in a routine. The grandparents don't see her very often and don't want to waste precious cuddle time with naps!

Anyway. It will be lovely I am completely sure. It is the first time P has been there and PIL are veeeeery excited. I so hope that P is in good form.

Enough complaining. I have a beer in hand and pizza next to the oven. It will go in the oven as soon as the crunch performing one chills out and goes the fuck to sleep!

Passmethecrisps · 29/03/2013 20:03

pidj. Don't know what to say to you apart from platitudes. I wish words on a screen could make things better.

BigPigLittlePig · 29/03/2013 20:05

pidj Brew - vent if you need to x
pass I hear you, with grandparents and none-napping.

Fire is lit, snuggled up with F on the sofa, lovely lovely.

ChasingDaisy · 29/03/2013 20:08

Pidj hugs.

I also hear you on the grandparent scenario. We are taking O to Ikea and then to my dads house for the first time ever, complete with dog who bites Angry , and I am dreading it. I understand that they want to see him, but they don't have to suffer the overtired meltdowns in the evening.

StuntNun · 29/03/2013 20:16

You have a lot on your plate right now Pidj. Can you just take one day at a time and try not to worry about the future? It will get easier for you.

I am so fat!
I've got 6 pairs of black trousers and none of them fit!! I'm going to a funeral on Thursday, and I've not lost any thing that fits. Grrr.... So went into town, One word.
Nightmare.
n cried pretty much all the time, including when I fed him. I snapped at the watress that put alot of effort in fitting us in. Sad what a stressful time. Here's hoping for tomorrow to be better. I also forgot to put cream on my tattoo.

So where's yours and what are they? (Tattoos)
Evil

YellowWellies · 29/03/2013 20:22

Today was one of those 'woo I feel on top of things / am in sync with what he wants' days. So naturally tomorrow he'll totally change his pattern and I'll be Confused. Still it was v nice to feel half competent and a bit like I know him Smile. He's been so chatty, smiley and giggly its lovely.

We also accidentally had our first attempt at napping in his cot - MM and Tilly came over and we were gabbing too much for him to drop off. Normally he naps every 1.5 - 2 hours but by 3 hours awake he was losing his cool - so I popped him in the cot. OK he didn't sleep but he chilled out and gabbled to himself for 10 mins. Given our bedroom (south facing) was super bright I'm just chuffed he didn't go mumpy. In the new house he'll be napping in a cot in his north facing attic room.

Pass post viral reflux? Symptoms often worsen so as Det says maybes up her meds?

Lily311 · 29/03/2013 20:24

[evil] no tattoes here, i'm boring.

Passmethecrisps · 29/03/2013 20:29

I love those days YW. I have days I almost feel like we are communicating by telepathy. I feel like champion mummy of the world. It's lovely.

I will add a wee dash extra rinitidine tomorrow. What harm can it do?

Passmethecrisps · 29/03/2013 20:30

I also have no tattoos. Never really fancied one. I love the look of some though.

Passmethecrisps · 29/03/2013 20:32

Reflux would explain the red sore-looking throat wouldn't it? Why did I not think of that? Poor wee soul.

daisychain76 · 29/03/2013 20:32

Pidjj be kind to yourself and. have chocolate and an early night if you can.

Evil l?m not brave enough to have a tattoo. Dh wants a hideous design involving a zombie Johnny Cash (why, just why) Glad he can?t afford it!

Been shoppping all day, getting everyone smart clothes for 2 weddings. Apart from me. Went to Red Hot Buffet for lunch (recommend it to Manchester types). Not got the dcs anything for Easter yet. Usually the Easter bunny does a treasure hunt for them. Better get organised.

Thanks for the advice. re NHS 24 VQ. Going to use them if drs won?t see me tomorrow (opens for 2 hours).

YellowWellies · 29/03/2013 20:35

I've got a tattoo of a Yorkshire rose on my bum and a trigram from the I ching on my arm. When I stop BF am seriously considering a massive tree or geometric design up my back and down one arm to cover my old ones. Tattoos are so addictive - I luffs them Smile

Evilwater · 29/03/2013 20:36

I never thought I could have a tattoo, but compared to giving birth it was a like having a paper cut.

BigPigLittlePig · 29/03/2013 20:38

The most hated job when I worked in orthopaedics for 4 months, was sewing skin together after spinal operations, where patients had tattoes at the bottom of their spine. Awkward much.

I don't have any coward but dh has a couple.
