Congratulations fuckwittery love the name!

I am guessing you would prefer the truth? If not, then please look away.

Having had a spring baby, a summer baby, and this winter baby, I would say the spring was the easiest, and winter the hardest.

Benefits of November baby:

You are not heavily pregnant in the heat of summer.

You can eat and drink what you want at Christmas.

It is easier to keep a baby warm than it is to keep them cool.

You do not feel so bad being glued to the sofa if it is cold and wet outside.

Cute little outfits for baby at Christmas.

You can cover your fat arse with lots of clothes.

By the time spring comes, you will be over the worst so can actually enjoy being out and about with your brood.

Challenges of a November baby:

Fucking bronchiolitis. With one at school and nursery you are unlikely to avoid it I am afraid. You may well spend the entire winter with at least one sick child at any one time.

Night feeds can be a bit chilly.

School run can be a bitch in the driving rain and snow, but you walk faster so burn off the fat arse quicker. Also it gets you off the sofa, and may be the only time your baby sleeps.

Obviously a lot will depend on said baby. Mine got bronchiolitis at 5 weeks and was in hospital. We have also had issues with feeding. Hopefully yours will be easier.

PetiteRaleuse · 29/03/2013 14:13

Everything vq said. And will add that by the time spring finally gets here and you want to go out and enjoy it your baby will be cute and curious and rolling around on a blanket in the garden having the time of its life. At least that is how I imagine spring will be if it ever gets here.

Have to say I second the constant illness bollocks though. Congratulations, at least you won't be heavily pregnant in either major heat or slippery icy or snowy pavement weather. Both those were a big positive for me.

StuntNun · 29/03/2013 14:28

Mine hasn't been that ill Fuckwittery, just a cold at Christmas and an ear infection last week but summer babies get those too. I have two at school so three school runs a day. I'm finding it hard to fit feeds and naps around the 2 o'clock school run so I'm hoping to do a deal with one of the neighbours to take it in turns to collect them. Cold night feeds are the worst so get an oil-filled radiator for the bedroom. Ours has a thermostat so we keep the room above 18 degrees at night. I found skin-to-skin time a bit of a faff to do without someone getting cold (usually me). I have had two in the winter and one in the summer and winter is definitely easier for not being a sweaty mare in the last few weeks of pregnancy.

See, winter made no difference to my level of hotness sweatiness Grin.

We've just had the one cold at 10 weeks. But unfortunately, that was possibly the trigger for the reflux that subsequently has blighted our days!

But the first 10 weeks, no illness, and no reflux. Great!

Thanks chunky and daisy. I appreciate your advice. Thanks for replying.

Sorry garden did I miss something? It is so easy to miss complete pages.

ValiumQueen · 29/03/2013 15:17
MissMummy1 · 29/03/2013 15:24

Okay: bread baking, Matilda so far sticking to routine (my mum is going to give her a bath etc and bottle of ebm as per schedule and get her to sleep there then we will pick her up, do dream feed there and hopefully the car home will knock her out for the night. We will see!) and downstairs of the house is cleaner and tidier than it has been since M arrived! I have impressed even myself. Now just to sort my abandoned office, make up the spare bed and clean the bathroom before SIL and BIL arrive and I'll be laughing Grin .

TheDetective · 29/03/2013 15:25

Yes, Garden I looked back for what you had asked and couldn't see. Thought it was just me! What was the question?!

Hello horsey and pikz in france! This time next week I'll be in Switzerland! Rolling round in melted cheese Grin.

I think I shall make lists of things we need to pack in which bags since my child is asleep again.

Kyzordz · 29/03/2013 16:11

I didn't see any questions either garden sorry for missing you!

Dm and dp have e downstairs. Feel massively guilty as he is in a cranky mood. I am going to try to sleep though as I know I'll feel better if I rest or that's what I am telling myself

BigPigLittlePig · 29/03/2013 16:29

detective dh woke me up last night by prodding me and saying "Deirdre, what do you want from the shop?" Would have been funny if it wasn't 3am. He has also been known to get up in the bed and dance in his sleep he'd kill me if he knew I shared that

Another morning nap in the cot here, MIL wanted to go upstairs to take a photo of her but I said snapped no, was the first time I've stood up to her on anything, ever. As it was, her nap was cut short when she woke herself up farting, which we all heard over the monitor.

Glad both Os had a lovely day yesterday, us south-westerners will make sure we post a pic on fb next week when we have our meet.

TheDetective · 29/03/2013 16:36

Just measured O, and he is 69cm. Looking at DS1 he was 70cm at the same age.

Oh bollocks, it puts him on the 99.6th line.

Having tall children is a pain in the butt, believe me. Especially if they are slim.

TheDetective · 29/03/2013 16:39

LOL @ BP! Sleep talking is so amusing!

We've had both naps in the cot today, and instead of the usual shorter naps we get, we've had long ones. 2.5 hours this morning and over an hour this afternoon. He will probably have another aroung 5.30. I will make sure it is no later than 6.30 as I want to have his bed time around 8.30 if I can. This suits us better.

BigPigLittlePig · 29/03/2013 17:00

When the ILs came round earlier, they came with Easter gifts for the kids. Now when I was little, I had an egg from my parents and 1 from my grandparents. So far, dsd has an egg and colouring book from GP; picnic set, egg and photo frame from aunty; 2 easter eggs from friends. It just seems so excessive. I know my parents have also got dsd an easter craft set, and my gran may well have got her an egg as well. I know people have the best intentions, but kids these days are spoilt rotten.

TheDetective · 29/03/2013 17:14

Yes BP. I used to get DS 4 eggs. One from me, one from the easter bunny, one from his dad, and then a smaller kinder type egg, or lindt bunny or similar.

He didn't get any from anyone else. Now I've just got him 2 eggs, as we have been given 11 eggs so far. Ridiculous! And I know my mum has more for him.

I don't buy them for other peoples kids, just because it seems daft. Confused

I am getting O tomorrow a fluffy chick teddy. He has been given eggs though. Fucksake!

MIL has got him some sort of costume. I think it might be a duck from what she said! In fact, she sent me this text before 'got Oscar a suit for easter if you don't like it, tough shit'! Good job we share a similar sense of humor Grin.

We are going to be over run with eggs.

I might melt it and make cakes. Lots of fucking cakes.

Speaking of which, MIL has been making easter cakes. She is awesome at cakes .

Be glad you don't live near me. I am fairly certain it's a liverpool/scouse thing, but here, kids get easter clothes. And by easter clothes, we are talking expensive, full new outfits, shoes, the lot. I once went around work, asking people if they got 'easter clothes'. We deduced those who were from the scouse areas did, those who were not, did not!!

I think they do it for all the bank hols tbh!

Passmethecrisps · 29/03/2013 17:20

I completely agree BP

at horsey and pikz

See P can be distracted but this is not distraction this is DO NOT WANT! Today so far she has had 9oz. She has two bottles left of the day. I have given calpol for her throat and bonjela for teeth. She still takes an oz then screams. If I put the muslin round her neck she screams. I can usually make her take another oz by feeding standing up but not today.

We had my parents visiting and she has spent the day laughing, bouncing, smiling and generally being full of energy. She just doesn't seem to want to eat. This has gone on for a fortnight now pretty much. I thought we were getting somewhere. She is getting weighed on Tuesday so we will wait and see how that goes.

ValiumQueen · 29/03/2013 17:24

I put all eggs away to scoff myself later and ration them out. I request a token gift, like craft stuff in lieu of eggs, but the egg always slips in.

detective J is the same length, and remember they were due at the same time.

I am sick of easter related crafts already. Have made cards, easter baskets, cookies.

PetiteRaleuse · 29/03/2013 17:29

DD1 is getting one very small egg. LO can wait til next year

ValiumQueen · 29/03/2013 17:30

pass big hug. I can imagine that is very upsetting, but remember she is laughing, bouncing and full of energy. Try to focus on this, and keep offering food, but if she will not eat there is nothing you can do. Hopefully she will show a gain in weight, but I guess you are preparing yourself for a wee one. Having the virus will affect her appetite, but she is sleeping well is she not?

TheDetective · 29/03/2013 17:31

O is very cheery today again. We have been playing board games with DS1 and he has been happily passed around and sat on knees, and then on his changing mat to kick about, for well over an hour.

I like this.

TheDetective · 29/03/2013 17:34

Pass is this a flare up of her reflux due to illness? Perhaps she needs meds changing/adjusting?

ValiumQueen · 29/03/2013 17:38

pr not stingy, sensible!

ValiumQueen · 29/03/2013 17:39

detective I have heard of easter clothes too. I cannot recall how or where. Possibly on here.

ChasingDaisy · 29/03/2013 17:39

O has been bought an easter egg. I don't understand why.
