Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

mm can your mum have M at your house or are you taking her to your mums place? If at yours, your mum can follow your schedule. I found with mine, it was around now that they need to be at home for bedtime. Gone are the days you can take them wherever you are going. That is just my opinion though.

Passmethecrisps · 29/03/2013 09:19

mm maybe M just needs to get used to the room first before being in the cot? Personally, if I am trying new things with P I set aside a week to dedicate to the schedule. I have only done it a couple of times but I like to clear the decks first. I am planning to start day naps in P's room and bed time #1 upstairs in a fortnight. Scary!

kyz you sound like you are really poorly. I also think you should get some help. It is likely to be short lived so one day won't hurt anyone. You are bottle feeding so you can take yourself off to bed for hours without having to worry so do it! I know my DH had blood in his sick once and he was sent for an endoscopy (is that the right one? Camera down the throat?) and was told that any blood in sick should be reported to Dr. It might be worth a call to NHS24 just to check. Our GP was being very cautious but it is worth a call.

Good start stunt. Here's hoping that each night nudges into the right direction.

Well, p had a good long sleep last night and I gave her a dose of calpol this morning. She still fought the bottle and took a tiny amount. I skooshed her nose with saline and gave her a good snuck. She sat in the bathroom while I had the hottest shower ever. She still wouldn't fucking eat. She sat in her bouncer flinging her arms and legs about smiling and looking happy. Pick her up to feed her "waaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh! Aaaaaaaiiiiieeeeeeeeee!"

I am so over having to fight to make my baby eat! I honestly don't think I can do more.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 29/03/2013 09:37

mm like vq says, ask your mum to stick to the schedule. It just takes a bit of keeping on top of and making sure you pack up all the right things but works out ok. Often I would get the boys into their pjs before we go somewhere if I expect them to sleep.

Most importantly enjoy your night out with DP being grown up and spending time together. I know I am a broken record on this but it is really important.

TheDetective · 29/03/2013 10:13

Well, at 6.30am I was all set to come on here and bitch moan at mr 4 hourly fucking feeds, and up for the day at 6.30. Except he went back to sleep with a little help til 9am. Fuck yes!

He looked wide awake at 6.30, even after his feed. But a little jiggling and patting and white noise for 5 minutes got him back to sleep. Awesome. DP is gonna be so jealous.

Actually. I've noticed that he definitely sleeps longer when DP is not around. Perhaps DP should just fuck off to the sofa permanently? (He was in work early this morning). Usually he sleeps in on saturday mornings which is DP's early start. I'm sure it must be connected. Will test the theory again tomorrow!!

I still don't get how the child needed 4 hourly feeds all yesterday, and all fucking night too. He has fed pretty much 6-2-10-6 give or take half an hour either side for the last 48 hours. Meh.

Ah well. 8-9am even with feeds is damn good. And no other wakenings. Fuck yes. I shall stop bitching about the feeds. Feeds ok, other wakenings, no.

PetiteRaleuse · 29/03/2013 10:27

PetiteRaleuse · 29/03/2013 10:28

We were going to go to h&m to spend my lovely vouchers but we left them at home in the rush to get to the crisps

horseylady · 29/03/2013 10:42

Hello from France!!! It's sunny!!!!!

mm I just wanted to say try establishing the roitine, then work on own room. Small steps. We have a reasonable routine here but it does change. Once I'm happy he's ok in France in the bigger cot he will be in his own room. I've also been told allow three days to implement anything. At least. She's still just 4 months and we had a few bad nights around then.

TheDetective · 29/03/2013 10:49

Kyz, definitely call on help. Looking after a baby, plus illness is beyond shite, and quite frankly next to impossible.

Last night when O woke around 2, I had only been asleep an hour thanks to fucking DP trying and failing to get a shag out of me and I could barely move, let alone get up for him, as I was so friggin' stiff. So I woke DP to get him. He jumped out of bed like he was late for work, and started ranting at me, telling me I didn't understand, and that he had hidden it somewhere, and he couldn't find it. I asked him what he meant, and he just kept repeating over and over how something was hidden, he had hidden it, and I didn't understand.

LMAO! If it wasn't for Oscar properly screaming the house down like something awful had happened like having to wait 5 minutes for milk! I'd of let him carry on!!

Anyway. When he came back to reality, he actually fed O, and put him back in the cot. Fucking miracles! Ignores fact muslin cloth was still around his neck - what does it take for him to learn? Dropping the baby clearly...

ChunkyEasterChick · 29/03/2013 11:37

Sympathy and hugs to those with bad nights. DS has continued his good nights. No feed between midnight & 6.15, so in bed from 9 until then with a brief wake & grumpiness at 4.11.

I remember the time because the night before DD had me up at the exact same time!! Tis the witching hour...

Anyway, feel better soon kyz and hope everything has a good Easter weekend.

ChasingDaisy · 29/03/2013 11:41

Detective O has left one of his toys behind - pm me your address and I'll send it up to you.

My dad is taking me to Ikea tomorrow so am making my shopping list. Excited Grin . Sorry catbag

Kyzordz · 29/03/2013 11:52

Thankyou everyone, you're such a lovely quiche :), vq it was fresh so I haven't worried, and it hasn't happened the last 3 times. If it happens again I will ring nhs24. I have I think kept down an ice cube! Half an hour now and though I have felt ready to throw up since I had it, I haven't actually been sick. For half an hour!!

My mum has taken LO shopping for the morning and dp will be up by 1pm so we should be ok. Mum tried to feed him for me but I had to give him his second half as he is very funny sometimes and was a bit tired so wasnt having any of it. Had to give him back so I could be sick, which made me realise I really can't take care of us both if I can't even get through a feed without puking. It's just he is all whiny again, pretty sure it's teeth and I don't want anyone else to have to listen to it all day. Having said that I haven't the strength to chuck him around as he likes so he'll whine more at me if I have him I expect!

I'm with you on the fighting pass though sounds like P puts up a bigger fight than e. it's not nice. With e though lots of it is just distraction and I have tactics that mean I can get through most bottles with minimal stress.

Shame o needed seeing to det that sounds hilarious!

Like others have said mm I think keeping the routine as well as you can Is the important thing. If your mum can have her at yours great but if not just try to make sure your routine for her is followed at your mums and obviously if anything like a teddy or sleeping bag or whatever is used, make sure they go with M so it's literally as near as to what she's used to as you can get.

Hi horsey

TheDetective · 29/03/2013 11:56

Blush Oh dear! We really did litter your place up chasing!! Blush

Told you I bought too much stuff!

Which toy was it? Depending which one it is he won't miss it! I can't say I've noticed one missing so suspect it might go unmissed Grin and perhaps another Oscar can get use from it Wink!

Cat I think I'd just forget Ikea! The delivery cost might work out cheaper if you are really desperate?! Grin

TheDetective · 29/03/2013 11:57

I've found singing to O works to get at least another ounce down him, if not a bit more. Especially when out. Distracted little sod. Chasing was witness to this yesterday Wink.

Do rather feel like a twat though. Blush

Kyzordz · 29/03/2013 12:07

I've resorted to singing lol, and nomming his fingers. Also if at home I start the feed with no tv, and turn it on if he stops and is being daft. He will then drink some more and watch tv and that's usually his lot. Changing position helps too. They can be so weird! I wouldn't mind if he genuinely didn't want more but I have left him at 3 pissing ounces before at his request and he is hungry within an hour, and I am not feeding him hourly unless he is poorly

TheDetective · 29/03/2013 12:34

Hmmm. Oscar has slept 8-9, back asleep at 10.30, and is still fucking asleep?

Perhaps he is making up for earlier in the week? Hmm

StuntNun · 29/03/2013 12:44

The routine is more of a guideline MM so I can make sure J is getting enough feeds and naps in the daytime. So when he woke at 6.15 this morning I didn't make him wait till 7 for his feed IYSWIM. When out I would still try to get him to sleep around bedtime, he might rouse when he's put back in his car seat but will drop off again. I have travel sleeping bags so he can be all ready in his pjs and sleeping bag to go into the cot when he gets home.

TheDetective · 29/03/2013 12:57

Still asleep.... Confused

ChasingDaisy · 29/03/2013 13:08

Detective it is the blue ring with plastic teething toys on.

I tried the singing during a feed today and while he seemed distinctly unimpressed with my singing, it did help him focus.

Kyz I hope this is just a 24 hour bug Thanks

PetiteRaleuse · 29/03/2013 13:43

Been going through the up to 3 month clothes to give to my friend today [busad]

Bye bye life as mum of a newborn [busmile] [champagne]

Damn, the keys! He loves nomming on the nobbly one!

Do you have paypal? I'll send you the postage :)

Try the actual music on phone maybe? He seemed happy with either!!

I don't think O is impressed with my singing, he just likes the attention!

Guess what I just did?!

I put the Lion King on for me O. You saw how mesmorised he was with the song when I youtubed it yesterday? Well, it just got up to that bit in the film, and while he was rolling round his play mat thoroughly ignoring the TV, he just stopped dead, and started staring at the TV and grinning! So he has a memory clearly Grin.

ChasingDaisy · 29/03/2013 13:53

Ha, that's awesome!

I don't have PayPal, but don't worry, it won't cost much to send. It will be Tuesday that I send it now as I won't be able to get to the PO tomorrow.

ChasingDaisy · 29/03/2013 13:56

Hi fuckwittery!

Congrats on your baby. This was my first baby so my experience may be slightly different to you as you already have children, but I found that Christmas with a newborn was lovely Smile Also, by the time he gets more active it should be summer time and I'll be able to play outside with him. I would rather have been stuck indoors with a newborn rather than s more active baby.

TheDetective · 29/03/2013 13:57

Hello [Fuck]! Grin

Well, the good bits about a winter baby - for me - are:

Dark evenings and dark mornings has meant the early days he wasn't woken by the sun in the morning like now grrr!. So bed time was always in the dark, and mornings he woke later. Awesome :)

Also, wraps are your friend judging by others on here! www.tuppenceandcrumble.co.uk and www.morrck.co.uk. I haven't got one, but I have a very warm baby. He has lived in a vest, babygrow, cardigan to go out, plus blanket, hat and then fold the scratch mitts over on the babygrow. Sometimes he has had a coat, instead of a cardi, or a thinner fleece type snow suit.

Guess it depends on the baby. I'd of got a wrap if he had needed more layers! Oh, and the wrap is your friend for the school run. I don't have to do too many, so again it doesn't bother me. But if I was doing that many a day, again, I'd of got one!

Other plus points. Erm. Being able to hide the postnatal flab for longer! Not being huge in the height of 'summer' hollow laugh. Not needing to shave legs with huge bump! Or for several months after Grin. Unless you are me and have to display your fanjo far too regularly for your liking.

That said, I'd prefer a spring one again. But, it hasn't been terrible. Ignores all the illnesses on the quiche.

Grin
TheDetective · 29/03/2013 13:58

Hmmm. Well, in return, I'll send you something in the post. :) since I have your address, you can't stop me Grin.

No rush, don't worry, he won't miss them for a bit!!
