I put him down awake now, and if he starts proper crying, go in and cuddle him then put him down again. Up until recently I had to feed him to sleep as he was so unhappy.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 25/03/2013 21:20

vq thanks for the tips on GF and baby whisperer. Looks like I need to be spending a fortune on books!! Argh!!

J is asleep now. Hasn't fed since pathetic 5mins at 7. Hoping he doesn't sleep too long before feeding!

lily I hadn't realised that re registering, seems crazy and a lot of distress to put woman like you under :(

Evilwater · 25/03/2013 21:34

Ok,
Chasing- well done for going to the dr.s, your so much braver than me.

Poo- he usually has one a day. Mainly green, HV is not worried. We've gone from colic to teething, so he has mainly had green poos.

Big- sorry about about the car.

I've been introducing water with N for 3-4 weeks, and he still not impressed with it.

To those having bad nights Brew

Today N has been demanding this morning and very shouty, so at baby class he was shy. He also did not want any baby rice today. Angry n is going to his grandparents tomorrow yay!!! So I can do house work that has been waiting 2 weeks.

Watching the napping comments with much interest - had a small cry at a friend's baby meetup this afternoon as everyone else's baby was happily napping in prams/baskets/cots, and baby C is always in my arms. When we're at home I can get her to nap in her crib but with bucketloads of effort - it's not unusual for me to spend an hour rocking, shushing, replacing dummy, hand on chest etc only to get a 35 minute sleep. Bloody draining. She gets up and I'm ready to give in.

I swaddle her, which helps, but it does mean that I can't give her a comfort toy to hold/she can't suck on fingers etc. She's still in v early days of gripping things well, but I wonder if I will have to rethink the swaddle. Anyone know if a baby can manage nighttime swaddled but daytime unswaddled? That would be ideal.

She responds well to Ewan too, but invariably wakes when it switches off after 20 minutes. Anyone got a hack to make it stay on until you switch it off? Surely there's a wire you can cut or something like that!

MsJupiterJones · 25/03/2013 21:50

Izzy - library?

Passmethecrisps · 25/03/2013 22:04

ma p is swaddled at night but has a sleeping bag for day. Generally works fine if you ignore ocassional blips

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 25/03/2013 22:09

Well we've been feeding for 40 mins now :) only thing is he is going to need nappy changed before bed which means he's gonna wake up :(

LuisGarcia · 25/03/2013 22:10

aaaarrrrggghhhh

Evilwater · 25/03/2013 22:11

itsnotyouitsmeals · 25/03/2013 22:14

Three in the bed (DDs and DH), all asleep. Jobs to do.... Or shall I have a glass of wine? Hmmmmm.

itsnotyouitsmeals · 25/03/2013 22:15

Is it a full mooooooon tonight? Oh no. Could be a wakey one then. Lots of babies to be born no doubt.

Evilwater · 25/03/2013 22:18

kirrinIsland · 25/03/2013 22:22

hi all :)

I've only skim read, finding it harder and harder to keep up, especially as I mostly only get on here in the evenings.

N has had about 3 naps in the bouncy chair, and 1 in her pram whilst at home (she frequently naps in it if we are out and about). Otherwise all naps are on me or not at all. She can easily nap for 10 or 20 minutes all day. I need to work on this but I don't know how with a toddler around as well - I just can't spend an hour rocking a pram or shush patting, and I'm pretty sure that is what it would take.

N is still very snotty and miserable so I am expecting another night like last night. DP complained several times today about how tired he is and it took a lot of restraint not to kill him snap at him. He once pointed out that he gets up with DD1 at 06.30 and how tiring that was - I got up with her at that time for the first 20 months of her life, and for the first 13 of those I was also up 3 - 4 times in the night as well. But things are a bit fence at the mo, so me nit picking at stuff isn't going to be helpful.

About to attempt a transfer.......

kirrinIsland · 25/03/2013 22:27

*fence = tense!

Kyzordz · 25/03/2013 22:27

Evening all. Dream feeding now. E sleeps better on the sofa in the day but it is meaning I can't leave him and will suffer once he can move as he'll just roll off! I should sort this. Not today though as he has an upset tummy and soup like poo. His thicker milk means a usual solid poo so clearly something is amiss. Hoping business as usual tomorrow :)

Glad no illness today pr

Glad j is doing well vq

Hope you get birth certificate sorted lily

Trying and failing to remember what else I meant to say!

itsnotyouitsMeals · 25/03/2013 22:28

Good luck kirrin. LO only naps for long on days when I am out walking with DD1. That is most weekdays but at weekends and on days like today I can only get her to nap for 20-40 mins tops downstairs as, like you, I don't know how to get her to sleep upstairs without a lot of time. I don't have that due to toddler DD1.

Kyzordz · 25/03/2013 22:29

I'm the same kirrin it's harder to keep up recently as i've not been able to get on much during the day! Hope transfer works and LO feels better soon!

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 25/03/2013 22:37

Ok nappy changed but a quick cuddle and back to sleep. Poor boy is in a pink sleeping bag as he had an explosive poo this morning in his last clean blue one! He is asleep and I'm hoping for a good stretch after the 40 min feeds!

pennie we are waiting. We actually go on holiday at 27 weeks so I'd rather wait til we come home before starting weaning but not sure if that's a good idea!

Right I need to go to sleep! Keep messing around on MN and Facebook!

See you in a few hours!

kirrinIsland · 25/03/2013 23:04

Well, I'm back already! First sleep of the night is less than half and hour - this does not look promising!

I'm waiting til 26 weeks pennie Perhaps even a week or two longer, as I start my new job at 27 weeks and will need to switch her over to formula then. Don't want to introduce food and formula all at once.

Right. Try again. Sleepy dust to you all. Hope I don't see you til morning fat chance

FatimaLovesBread · 25/03/2013 23:06

Is it sweaty Wednesday yet? I'm on the fucking sofa again. Every night for the last two weeks I haven't been able to get to sleep properly till at least 1am. If I do go to sleep, I'm woken 30 mins later by his fricking snoring. Arghhh! How can he not wake himself up?
I've left M upstairs in her Moses basket because I don't want to disturb her but if he fucking wakes her too Angry
I'm a whole floor of the house away and I can still hear it loudly.

LuisGarcia · 25/03/2013 23:18

Sweaty Wednesday sounds like a lot of effort, but why isn't he on the sofa?

FatimaLovesBread · 25/03/2013 23:24

Ha ha major typo there. Maybe we should start having sweaty sweary Wednesday where we all crank our heating up while we type profanities.

I We have decided today that we're going to move M in to her cot soon, possibly at the weekend. However, because I'm not completely comfortable with her being on her own yet and also I'm still bfing and too lazy to get out of bed. We're going to move the spare single matress on to the floor in Ms room and ill sleep there. Also win-win as I'll get some sleep without the snoring.

Does this sound ridiculous? We'll see how it goes and when she gets into a longer routine with her night feeds I might will move back.

On another note, has anyone got a pram refuser? M is too bloody nosey so doesn't like being in the carrycot if she's not asleep but the seat bit is from 6 months on. We've had to start using the carseat a lot more, she's happier as she can play and see more. But I know they're not supposed to be in them too long Confused

We're going to a baby group tomorrow, then meeting my ex-step niece and then an ikea trip.
