not unreasonable stunt no, but I don't know what you do about it. N does one slightly longer sleep (3-4 hours) but then wakes every 1 to 2 hours. Nothing else will settle her so I'm just going with it at the moment. Does he take a proper feed when he wakes? N just latches on so clearly isn't actually hungry, but she refuses to take a dummy.

PurplePidjin · 25/03/2013 05:01

Have a look here, Stunt i found it quite enlightening :)

PurplePidjin · 25/03/2013 05:04

We don't really have a routine as such but i do always do things in the same order iyswim - R kicks about on the bed with a toy while i change into jammies, then i put him in night nappy and sleeping bag, then feed in bed, cuddle to deep sleep, transfer it works better in the week when hollyoaks is on and he hears the music

glendatheveryexcitedwitch · 25/03/2013 05:56

Wishes dotties cold would fuck the fuck off 3 nights disturbed with tonight being the worst - was hoping this weekend would be a chance to catch up on sleep ready for the shock my brain will have on Tuesday at uni.

I have a huge fuck off cold sore in my lip and am pissed at dh - all weekend Dottie has been a limpet feeding/sleeping on me so haven't been able to do any cooking, cleaning, tidying or anything and he has done fuck all too - so I've not eaten - if it wasn't for ds, dd1 would have starved too!! This bodes well for the next 3 years!!!

I'm fucked off, tired, stressed over money and totally pissed at dh but other than that life's a bed of roses!!

Hope everyone is well, not had chance to catch up

Pikz · 25/03/2013 06:19

LO is so random. Last 10 nights he does 7.30-2/3-6.30.

Last night. 7.30-11.30-6??!! Wtf.

Lily311 · 25/03/2013 06:29

O was up at 9.30,12.00,3.00 and 6.00. She was doing better as newborn Angry. It'shard to believe that the same child slept through the night between week 10-13.

I met yesterday with my ex boss and her family. She asked me about my midwives and I couldn't stop praising them. It turns out she works for the nhs now and today she has a meeting with my midwife group reviewing them. She was so happy to hear my positive feedback.

PetiteRaleuse · 25/03/2013 06:41

Morning. Well apart from the blip we had a good night. Wasn't puked or shat on. Am fairly sure DD1 is ill because she is producing so much drool and saliva at the moment. I don't think it is a bug. Am going to keep her off milk and limit dairy to her daily yoghurt and a bit of cheese, and try and persuade her to let me see the back of her mouth to see if there are any teeth coming through.

ChasingDaisy · 25/03/2013 07:12

Not a terrible night here, 7:15 - 11:20 - 3:30 and then in bed with me at 6:30 where he's still snoozing now.

It doesnt seem that terrible written down but I would love one long stretch per night. Sleeping in 3 hour blocks just isn't cutting it.

He does seem to be down to two night feeds from three, which I think has been helped by him taking slightly more during the day.

He is 4 months on Thursday though so am expecting regression to hit at any moment.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 25/03/2013 07:26

We are up feeding again. This time is morning though. Dd woke up at 4 am last night so I wad in her bed for a bit as well as up with J. She's got a bad cold and cough so needed a wee cuddle. Is it wrong to hope I can put j down again and let dd watch telly while I dose a bit ??

Attempting transfer anyway. Feed was pathetic so maybe he will do better when offered boon in a few hours rather than 6+!

PurplePidjin · 25/03/2013 07:34

About the same here, Daisies but afaik we're post regression, which turned out to be just the one horrific night! R did 7:30-12, 1:30-4 + 5:30-6:40. Normally the feeds are shorter, don't know what happened last night maybe it was the change of scenery?

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 25/03/2013 07:41

Ok I should have known I had no chance with that one. He started squawking so I've brought him in my bed. No pint going downstairs as nothing to sit on. We are going round to mils this morning before I come back for couch delivery but its too early to turn up there just now!

ValiumQueen · 25/03/2013 07:44

Much better night here. He slept from 9.30 to 1.30, then 2-7. Took a bit of settling after his feed, but self settled on two wakings. I still woke, but went off again quickly. I feel a lot better today.

izzy I thought that he needed his hand holding after his feed, and fed whenever he woke. If he manages to go off with just a hand hold that is encouraging IMO. It is a comfort thing. Clearly he loves you very much Smile perhaps a teddy or comforter would help? How many times did he wake?

PetiteRaleuse · 25/03/2013 07:46

I want to leave France and go and live somewhere else. An island somewhere. One of the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man, or Malta. Anyone been anywhere like that? I need somewhere that has work in offshore finance because that is what we do. I don't want to go to Bermuda or BVI because I am scared of storms. Spent most pf the night wondering where we could go. I hate insomnia.

Clarella · 25/03/2013 07:52

gah it's been so cold the heating was on for longer so lo had a really stuffy nose. had to sleep upright on me from 3 till 6 after not settling after feed at 1! anyone else get this? tried saline spray too. still, he only actually fed at 1 and then 6.

some of the mamas who have co-sleep cots
up here are volunteering for a study at the isis link pidg. we do but given lo has 4 potential sleeping places depending obviously gas/stuffiness (bedside cot, hammock, our bed, on me) I don't think they could accommodate us...

Evilwater · 25/03/2013 07:58

Morning,
It's freezing again! When is it going to warm up? I want to lose weight, but. It's very difficult when it's bloody freezing.
I fed, N hungry milk just before bed, and he slept for 11 hours. Oh my ducking goddesses. He's having his morning nap, now.

PetiteRaleuse · 25/03/2013 07:59

I was just reading another thread and apparently breast milk in the nose does wonders for clearning snot, like it deals with conjunctivitis in eyes. So those of you still feeding have another option for dealing with snot. Not sure if you should point and shoot or express and give in a dropper thingy though.

horseylady · 25/03/2013 08:10

Hello ladies hope you're all ok. Not really read a huge amount as a massive volume to get through.

Sorry some of you still having sleep/feed/partner issues. Big hugs.

kirrinIsland · 25/03/2013 08:23

Point and shoot Grin

Well, N finally went down at 5 until now. And the saline seems to have kept working all night - she currently has a face only a mother could love!

The channel islands have been on my list of places to visit for a long time pr but I've not managed it yet. Right now, I'd be choosing entirely based on weather - I'm sick of the cold. And we're lucky here that we don't have the snow. Roll on summer - and please don't let it rain from now til August.

Evilwater · 25/03/2013 08:28

I've been trying to get N to have water. The water has been everywhere, but his mouth. He seems very interested in my tea Confused I've tried baby juice, and I still get the 'really mum? You want me to drink this?' Face.

Any advice? Any tips to get him into drinking water? I've also posted this on the weaning board.

Passmethecrisps · 25/03/2013 08:36

Morning.

Hope you catch the stick poker Luis.

We had a other night of:

Snuffle, snuffle, snort
SNIFF
Choke
Cough cough
Cough cough
Choke
Mummy gets up to pop in dummy to help breathing
Half hour peaceful sleep
Snuffle, snuffle, snort

And repeat.

Bless DH he snuck out of bed to tend to P whispering 'sshhh' to her not realising that it was getting up time and I was awake but steeling myself for getting up.

P is in pretty good spirits considering and she actually rarely wakes when having a cough/snorting fit. She is being very brave. Braver than I am with a cold.

StuntNun · 25/03/2013 08:38

I just don't understand why at 14 weeks J went 8 - 10 - 2 - 6 which was lovely as it was only one wakeup plus an early morning, but now at 18 weeks it's 8 - 10 - 12 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 7 which is completely hopeless.

OP posts:
ValiumQueen · 25/03/2013 08:48

stunt 18 weeks is slap in the middle of 4 month sleep regression. How are his poos? Is he still very windy?

Bookwolf32 · 25/03/2013 08:49

Totally get the unpredictable sleep - DD will have a 'good' night where she feeds at 11 after going to bed at 7 and then she only wakes again at 4 before getting up at 6.30. The next night it will be awake at 10, 1, 3 and then 5.30! Last 2 nights she has also gone from going to bed and going to sleep quietly on her own to really screaming and needing my partner to get her to sleep and put her down.

Passmethecrisps · 25/03/2013 08:50

How does he feed during the day stunt? I am just thinking about the link you posted for izzy.

ChunkyEasterChick · 25/03/2013 08:51

We changed things about last night because I'm fed-up with a well-fed big baby not sleeping for a long stretch. I put DS to bed before DD (he is feeding quicker now, but before was taking too long to make her wait) as soon as he rubbed his eyes & seemed tired. He had a long feed and fell asleep on boob. He has always done this but I'm quite unceremonious in my cot transfer so he often stirs slightly but will self-settle back to sleep. I then gave him a dream feed before I went to bed. Previously I've felt the feeds would have been too close together to do this. Last night there was 3hrs between feeds.

It worked to mean he didn't wake until 3.40, had dummy, 4.40 dummy again then feed at 5.15. Awake at about 6.30. So not awful, def longer between feeds, & only 1 'night feed'. But only 6 or so hrs between feeds. At 10wks he did 9hrs. At 19wks, far less :(

I suppose I should be grateful that he usually sleeps from 8-7ish (6.30 is rather early but DD has been getting uk earlier with the lighter mornings too) with 1 or 2 quick feeds, but by the time I've gone to bed at 11+, if he wakes at 1am, I barely sleep. At least I got 4hrs in one go last night.

The main prob is he starts crying (he didn't used to) when he wakes. I can't leave him for long if he does because of DD.

I have completely forgotten anything I read so sorry!!
