Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 14/03/2013 18:23

DD and DS are both out for the night. This is an hour earlier than normal. The day usually starts between 5 and 6am. Am bracing self for a 4am start to the day. Guess bedtime for me will be at about 7pm them!

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 14/03/2013 18:24

Is anyone else a bit scared of VQ?

ValiumQueen · 14/03/2013 18:24

I am allergic to cats. I have never eaten one. I have never eaten pussy either, before you ask.

VQ is on the way up again Smile

detective is on FB and not terribly happy it seems Sad

ValiumQueen · 14/03/2013 18:25

Grin I am a real softie now. My DH mellowed me, and got me fat. Three times.

BigPigLittlePig · 14/03/2013 18:26

vq I know that is not the first time you've described yourself back in the day, but it still brings a smile to my face. I now imagine you, as described, but with the quiches wet fish hanging by your side, ready to whip those prisoners into shape Grin

I am thankful, after reading the many many tales of feeding related woe, for a baby who has outgrown her reflux unless I pig out on chocolate or swig lots of coffee and happily guzzles as much mummy milk as she can get. I would be tearing my hair out if I had half as much worry as some of you do.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 14/03/2013 18:40

Well said BPLP about feeding woes. I have so much sympathy for VQ, detective, and anyone else suffering with such ishoos.

Wonder how GT is getting on in India?

DH has just reminded me its steak and BJ day, apparently. I told him if he was keen to celebrate it, he could have the poor man's version - kebab and a wank. Grin

Jims · 14/03/2013 18:40

fruit as i understand it, they can onky ask for the additional money back (over smp) if it's in your terms and conditions/policy/handbook that they will do so if you don't return to work. Mine used to not say the first time i went off, they'd changed it by the time i went off this time. Not that it matters as i'll be going back to pay the mortgage.

In fact on that note, my husband is taking the last 3 months of maternity/paternity leave under the new rules. He disn't do that the first time. I think h thinks he'll be able to do some work in the garden...

gardenpixie32 · 14/03/2013 18:40

madam 6:30pm is the girls bedtime too. I can't seem to keep them awake until 7pm. They wake between 7am-7:30am so tomorrow may not be too early for you. Fingers crossed.

Bryzoan · 14/03/2013 18:45

Mm - we have a cmax. It is brilliant. Loads of space without being too much of a bus. I bought it because I thought it would fit baby and dive kit together - fat chance of using dive kit for the forseeable though!

Fruit - depends on the company. Mine doesn't make you pay it back, but we have quite good maternity policies.

Vq - I love hearing your prison stories. Opening the vents made me chuckle a little. Well done on all you have achieved feeding wise - I'm pleased to hear you now have what sounds like a workable plan. I think hv's should have to spend time with our quiche as part of their training!

Good news at camp bryzoan - g's hips were today pronounced 'normal' :-)

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 14/03/2013 18:46

thanks garden, that is reassuring. Both went to bed very nicely, DD exhausted after a 5am start and no nap, DS tired after only around 2 hours sleep today. So fingers crossed.

fruit mine has a policy that if you do not return for 6 months, you have to pay back the difference between the enhancement and SMP. But they are good at making people aware of this before you go on ML. Can you ask your HR dept, or do you not want to tip them off that you are considering this?

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 14/03/2013 18:47

vq I actually love reading your comments! That made me Grin loads!

MissMummy1 · 14/03/2013 18:53

I think i like the cmax most too.

Captain Calamari is often on the receiving end of M's patter. And nomming.

ValiumQueen · 14/03/2013 19:04

I remember taking one boy to hospital and he was having a heart attack so very frightened. I held his hand all the time as that is what he needed. He was telling me messages for his loved ones, sure he was dying. I was reassuring etc. When he could, he thanked me for being so very kind. I told him if he told anybody, I would fucking kill him myself Grin

Pikz · 14/03/2013 19:12

VQ if I ever get in a fight will you be my mate?

TheDetective · 14/03/2013 19:12

Sorry, been trying to catch up on many many pages! Took me over an hour, and that is skim reading!!!!

I'm so sorry, the quiche seems to be having such a tough time in so many ways. We are going though it.

YW thinking of you. Thanks

Shelly O is much much better thank you! It's just me. Not convinced it will last like the other things we've tried. Plus I don't think he's lactose intolerant, but for now, this is working. I have ordered CMP free milk after pissing around trying to get it today. I've paid for next day delivery, so need to decide tonight do I keep him on the lactose free or not.

What I really want is allergy testing. Then I'd fucking know what was wrong! But they don't seem to test babies. I'm on the verge of taking him privately for a consultation to discuss what is happening with him, and stopping my stubborness to get him NHS care.

He's currently happily playing, and has been for an hour after a 7oz feed!!! WHOOP! Grin Still having lots of vomits though.

HV came to see him today, agreed complaint to GP in order, shouldn't have had to go through what I did on tues. I need to put pen finger to paper keyboard. I will do it saturday when DS1 is around in the day to entertain his brother so I can concentrate! She agreed that A&E was the best option when the GP wouldn't do anything. She agreed with me that to do anything else would have been neglecting his needs. Wonder if she was too scared to disagree?!?!

VQ I agree on the lack of understanding. I mean I've had to do my own research quiz YW! and demand things to be done, if it wasn't for me forcing the issue, we'd still have a baby vomiting and not feeding. It's exhausting. It's soul destroying watching your baby deteriorating in front of your eyes. He has looked awful at times. As I say, I don't know about lactose overload, all I know is when I read it I thought of you and J. I hope well, I hope it isn't, but you know what I mean! it gives you an answer, but more importantly, a solution.

Sorry to the northern birds, today I have come down with a stinking cold. If you do too - I'm VERY SORRY! Very! Urghhhh.

Lily311 · 14/03/2013 19:13

Evening Ladies,

Busy day over here. Meaning velcro baby wanted attention all the time. She is so difficult, I don't blame her but come on, cheer up girl.

Pass It is relatively easy to keep her awake after 4 as long as she is not in the buggy or in her bed or on boobie. I try to make sure that I am at home by 4 so no chance of falling asleep. She is out now, hoping for a good night.

VQ love love the prison stories.

Pass and Izzy sorry for broken fanjos.

Madam O is mostly out between 6.30 and 7 and wakes between 5.30 and 6.30. Sometimes the earlier she goes down the later she wakes up. Kebab and wank made me Grin.

O stopped screaming. Gaviscon works. Her poo is much better now too, she had very runny, water-ish type but now it's more like soft one. She is still very clingy and grumpy but thanks fuck the screaming stopped. She also stopped snacking, she used to eat every 2 hours 3oz. We are on 3-3.5 hours now and she drinks 5-6oz. Much better, glad I fought for Gaviscon.

Anyone in south/central London can recommend a babysitter? I am having a leaving party on 20th April and need one. Checked out Likeminders/Sitters, the booking fee seems enourmous (£26 for a non member one off booking fee plus £7 an hour for the sitter, I rather pay the sitter more than booking fee to an agency). I would ask friends but everyone is attending at the party. It would be 5 hours from 7p.m onwards. Thanks.

glendathefedupwitch · 14/03/2013 19:13

vq I had a pierced nipple (until dd1 was born) and a pierced tongue (until last June when I had mega mouth ulcers) and came from Manchester so was considered hard as nails living in Exeter didn't put them right that I'm a right laalaa

TheDetective · 14/03/2013 19:15

That is bloody awesome Bry what a relief!

Today, I am thankful for.... wait for it.... my MIL!!!

She bought me a teddy which says supermum and a box of chocs from O! I am very lucky. My baby has fabulous grandparents well, both grandmas anyway.

I am also thankful that my baby does not yet have serious sleep issues unless he gets overtired! and even the night times I am grateful for, because many many more of you have it far worse. I'd have run away by now! Like sleep a little too much!

ValiumQueen · 14/03/2013 19:18

pikz I am trained to inflict pain but leave no marks.

detective I did not realise you took him to A&E. it is easy to completely miss posts even when you are an avid reader like me.

fruitpastilles · 14/03/2013 19:19

I'd rather not let them know I'm not going back madam I've no idea why I don't want to tell them though, it doesn't make any difference if I do or not. I'm not due back until October (pay will completely stop by June I think) so I would probably hand my notice in in August.

Pikz · 14/03/2013 19:40

To make you smile...

DP 'it's a fucking pothole not a man raping a goat, why is this on the news'

TheDetective · 14/03/2013 19:46

Tell me about it VQ! I miss so much stuff even though I read several times a day most days!

Yes, I took him to where I work. It is a small hospital, the main hospital is in another town (amalgamated services) but where I work it is maternity, gynae, a few other wards like rehab, but then the childrens A&E and all childrens services are there. I took him there rather than my very local A&E as obviously I work closely with the paeds, so I was hoping they might take pity on us!

I shouldn't have needed to do that.

rootypig · 14/03/2013 19:50

Lily was going to say that I would happily babysit for you but we are away that weekend! aaaargh. would have loved to have helped. don't know a sitter, sorry Sad. if there are any other dates you need someone for let me know, I can leave S with DH and come over x

Catbag · 14/03/2013 19:51

You absolutely should not have had to do that detective, but thank fuck you did. I would be raging now, in your position. I am pretty sure you are though, so I'll stand down ;)

TheDetective · 14/03/2013 19:56

Lily why don't you try local nurseries and ask if any of their staff do babysitting in the evening for extra cash? Quite a few do.
