I have a right sleep dodger today too pass, he has slept so far about 40 mins. He is napping now but I fear it won't last long! He is usually a good sleeper like P but not today! Usual tricks not working here too, have had to lie with him on the sofa. I am clinging to the idea tonight will be ok please please let it be ok!

sweetpea1112 · 16/03/2013 15:59

Nobody ever tells you that four month olds are so difficult so they?

It all got worse for us after 12 weeks, not better as people would have you believe.

fruitpastilles · 16/03/2013 16:09

We just get 1 dirty nappy a day, S is on the thicker anti reflux milk as well like kyz's E. Lots of wet ones though.

I'm getting quite worried about S, she doesn't seem to be doing anything developmental, she is 17 weeks now and she hasn't rolled over and doesn't look likely to any time soon, she doesn't seem interested in her rattles or Lamaze toys, she doesn't pick anything up of her own accord but will grasp things if they are put into her hand but only for a few seconds.
I just worry that she is behind.

fruit F has zero interest in toys - unless there is a human face entertaining her she's really not interested. The only toy she likes is the bit on her playmat with a mirror Hmm

sweetpea you know we're all here to support you, not judge, so whatever you ultimately decide we're here for you.

Dh has been cleaning the patio today. He was in a foul mood with me, apparantly because I have done "nothing" today. That "nothing" includes cooking lunch and tea, washing dishes, hoovering, feeding F about 6 times, playing games/jigsaws with dsd, hanging out laundry, going to the library. I pointed this out to him. I don't think he'll complain again.

PetiteRaleuse · 16/03/2013 16:41

fruitpastilles LO is 21 weeks and doesn't do much. She will grasp stuff if given to her but the only thing she grabs systematically is my hair Hmm which she aims for perfectly. I'm not sure she's even rolled yet except once, at the doctors the little show off. DD1 was the same - late for every single milestone but definitely very bright and once she finally walked you wouldn't see the difference with children who had been walking for months. If your LO is making eye contact and smiling then I wouldn't worry at all. Really.

StuntNun · 16/03/2013 16:48

Thanks VQ but I think he's okay. I have only fed him on one side per feed apart from the odd occasion where he had been very hungry, plus I start block feeding whenever his nappies go green so hopefully this will stave off lactose overload this time round. I wish I had had access to decent support with my last two instead of struggling along not knowing how to improve matters.

BPLP I don't think games have proper rules until kids reach about 7. My DS2 is 6 and still regularly cheats at Snakes and Ladders but is unbeatable at Monopoly.

I'm glad to hear J isn't the only one constantly feeding and pooing Shelly. I'll just wait him out then. He has started messing about from 4 a.m. recently but DH can usually settle him eventually.

Don't worry Fruit, there is a hugely variable timeline for these things. Also everything usually happens overnight so one day they can't do something, the next they can. J rolled back to front one day then front to back the next day then hasn't bothered to do either again since. He can grab things but not hold on to them.

I have been quite literally dusting off the wine in the wine rack and found a 2004 Rioja. Will it still be drinkable?

Are you singing contra?

PetiteRaleuse · 16/03/2013 17:05

Fruit just checked the journal I'm keeping for DD1 and the first time she rolled she was 5 months and 10 days :)

fruitpastilles · 16/03/2013 17:17

Feeling better now Smile thank you!
I think it's just when I see all the lovely posts about LO's doing things I start wondering if she's behind, but yes they do do things a different ages I need to remember that!

(Do do just made me laugh, anyone would think I was 7 not 27)

Brockle · 16/03/2013 17:20

my ds2 was very disappointed that Yousef doesn't do what Baby Jake does. it was one of life's great disappointments!

Y does m g and b sounds and has become.e very vocal. I think first words are classed as sounds they use repeatedly for set objects. not necessarily words we would know but sounds. that doesn't happen for a few months yet. we realised that ds2 called ds1 gooby at about eight months. he is called Mahmood but DH and I call him Moody!

I don't think he will roll for another month and he is four months. he goes mad on his playgym and had s vtech penguin and a vtech ball which he loves. toys are just starting to become interesting really.

TheDetective · 16/03/2013 17:37

Aye Sweetpea fucking 4th trimester? Well this must be the 5th trimester then surely?!

O is still very much like a newborn with his sleeping and now he is feeding patterns. I guess it's normal.

Actually. He was fucking easier as a newborn. Hmm

I'm in a crappy old mood. DP and DS1 are really really winding me up. DS1 for not helping when he should be doing and doing the opposite of every single thing I say to him. And DP for being a lazy dirty cunt. Grrrrr. He 'cleaned' the kitchen last night. He must have used a fucking sweet potato, some carrots, and gravy, oh and perhaps some ketchup to clean with then. The house has a full layer of dog hair on everything and to top things off, instead of putting any surplus rubbish in the shed til it gets taken to the tip, he must have decided in his fucking wisdom to put it all in a bin bag, and leave it outside by the bins. Well. I opened the back gate to be greeted by disgusting filth, rubbish, and god knows what littered everywhere. I assume it was our dog. He fucking knows we have a dog. A dog who likes to eat whatever she can get her claws in to. Can you get any more stupid?

On a positive note, I took them swimming, and we went to a warmer pool. O loved it! Those 2 degrees made a big difference. Either that or he loved having his big brother with him! O was grinning away at his brother and giggling. Was lovely! Facilities not very good at the pool but fuck it. If it makes O happy, I'll cope with no family changing rooms, and crappy showers!

Also. Got Jumperoo! O loves it. Not for jumping. Just for watching the lights and listening to the music!

I'm going to put a sign at my front door saying 'Toys R Fucking Us'. Now we have in the living room... A basket of toys, swinging chair, bouncer chair, 2 play mats, bumbo, vtech walker, and a jumperoo.

Going to start moving the actual furniture out. Hmm

Sophiathesnowfairy · 16/03/2013 17:40

Offer of The Day

Those of you bfing. I have two nursing/maternity vests with clips on the straps. Obviously. One black, one white. Size medium, Blooming Marvellous/Mothercare.
They are nice and long in the waist so good for layering. I would have kept them but because I am not bfing my boobs aren't big enough and so they come down too low.

Anyway free to a loving home.

TheDetective · 16/03/2013 17:44

Oh. Forgot to add. O thought 6am was an acceptable playtime. We've never had that before.

Suspect: 4 month sleep regression!

He is 16 weeks now...

Just glad he went back for a hour 8-9 on me.

TheDetective · 16/03/2013 17:46

I hate it when I reeeeeeeeally need the toilet a poo Grin when O is asleep on me. Hmm

BigPigLittlePig · 16/03/2013 17:48

sophia what size does medium equate to? I may be able to provide said loving home [grateful emoticon]

detective I think our dps are of the same mold. Dh even said earlier, "considering I like to keep my things clean as he used wet wipes to clean his wellies why can't I keep the house clean?" Hmm

TheDetective · 16/03/2013 17:53

You've reminded me sophia! I think I have a white one the same (size 16) from Asda should anyone want it for the summer -hafuckingha-- ahead?!

BigPigLittlePig · 16/03/2013 17:55

Asda do nursing clothes? How have I missed that completely!

TheDetective · 16/03/2013 17:58

Lmao BP! I think MIL wonders how I put up with live with him sometimes! She is witness to a lot of his 'efforts'. We just give each other that look as if you say 'lazy fucker'. Helps having the MIL on side.

I wouldn't care if he didn't clean, if he just tidied up after himself, and did the big non cleaning jobs. But he fucking doesn't! And I can't won't do everything!

I'm going to get him laser eye surgery for his birthday. Well, he claims he can't see the dirt/rubbish/shit lying around. Hmm

TheDetective · 16/03/2013 17:59

Lol they were in the maternity section! They didn't do anything else suitable for nursing as far as I could see!!

BigPigLittlePig · 16/03/2013 18:02

detective they need eyeball transplants - dh literally doesn't see dirt. Or muddy footprints. Or balls of cat fluff. Or full bins. It's making me Angry thinking about it.

fruitpastilles · 16/03/2013 18:07

Haha detective I'm in the same boat right now, need the toilet a shit and S is asleep on me. Going to need to put her down very soon haha!

BigPigLittlePig · 16/03/2013 18:12

As my dad would say, are you touching cloth?? Grin

Sophiathesnowfairy · 16/03/2013 18:17

bplp I think about a generous 14.

BigPigLittlePig · 16/03/2013 18:21

I suspect my boobs would also fail to fill them then Sad

We have a christening tomorrow, god knows what I'm going to wear. I have nothing attractive/smart that I can feed F in.
