Our first thread has almost finished so I thought we'd need a new one!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Pascha · 03/04/2013 10:29

Right. Last night was newborn stylee. Fed at 5pm, 6.30pm, 7.30pm, 8.30pm, 11.40pm, 1am, 2.30am, 4.30am 7am... I haven't had such little sleep for weeks Angry.

Please let it be a growth spurt or something...

Tugstonia · 03/04/2013 10:53

Oh Pascha that's tough... definitely sounds like a growth spurt though so hopefully ds will have a sleepy day today/tomorrow. Hope DD (and you) is ok too birdies.

Meringue haven't tried napisan, just vanish, thanks for the tip though will defo get some.

No smear test for me after all - have to be 12 weeks postnatal apparently. At least it got me out of the house and shock horror DD fell asleep in the pram on the way back and is STILL ASLEEP! Usually she wakes up as I haul the carry cot up the stairs. Must be the jabs. Time for me to do some revision for these bastard exams I have to do next week.

Pascha · 03/04/2013 11:49

Poor Xanthe, Birdies. Hope she's ok now. Dan has his 2nd set on friday and DS1 is going to his nan for the day so I don't have to negotiate both in the doctors.

Thanks Tugs I really hope its just a blip, I'm shattered. Glad you and DD got a better night last night. On the stained clothes front, I'm waiting in hope for some nice enough weather to hang the washing out. Nothing like sunshine to get rid of poostains and a line of white baby vests and muslins and grows just looks lovely.

Lostbobbles · 03/04/2013 13:38

Re poo stains tableau or stain Zappa spray from Robert dyas is fab.

I'm in the nail salon Grin

happyhow · 03/04/2013 13:57

I use vanish spray then put the vanish oxy-action powder in the machine too along with my normal washing liquid - hasn't failed yet...

Bailey did a double massive poo in the cinema! Thankfully I hadn't changed him yet after the first one but it did go up his back and required a full change. I think the baby dry nappies are a little big for him so will go back to new baby ones for a while - def had fewer leaky nappies with them.

Wuxiapian · 03/04/2013 14:15

Thanks for the replies re vomiting. Bubs was on infacol, but now on gripe water - maybe it's the force off the gripe belches...

Lol, Birdies! I was chuffed to find Boots own soft cloth wipes on offer, but was moreso chuffed that the packet had a lid! What are we like?!

Hope you enjoyed your pamper time, LostBobbles! I wish I had some nails to pamper... And some nice, soft hands... I always used to poo-poo hand creams, but have suddenly become a dry, old, crusty loaf.

mrsbugsywugsy · 03/04/2013 14:33

I second sunlight for poo stains, at the moment I put stained ones on a sunny windowsill.

tugs sorry you are having a hard time. your mil sounds like a charmer [buhmm].

dd is 14 weeks, but 9 adjusted, and she is going through a phase of eating every two hours in the day, three to four at night, which is how she was when she was a newborn. however, she has also started to resist sleep and I m having to impose naps on her, otherwise she becomes a screaming nightmare.

when we go to baby groups everyone else's babies seem to be well behaved and mine is the only one crying. please let this be a phase!

at home i put her down in her cot swaddled up, with a dummy and Ewan, and that normally sends her off to sleep. unlike every other baby in the world she seems to find human contact stimulating and sleeps better if she is in her cot on her own [buconfused]

mrsbugsywugsy · 03/04/2013 14:33

oops, no more bunny emoticons!

mrsbugsywugsy · 03/04/2013 14:35

why do they make most baby clothes in white and pastel colours anyway? I have a few bright coloured ones and they don't show the poo stains nearly as badly.

lollipoppi · 03/04/2013 15:58

Whoop! Finally managed to upload a picture of my little cheeky chops!
Everyone's babies are bloody gorgeous!!

Tugs hope you have had a better day today!
Lost I'm very jealous of your pamper!! I've had a gift voucher for my local beauty salon since January 2012! Hmm

Wuxiapian · 03/04/2013 16:04

Fab picture, lolli!

I'm trying to upload mine. My My Mumsnet ain't damn workin', though!!

CreepyCrawly · 03/04/2013 16:11

I love her top lolli.

Does anyone else's little one do a little cry in their sleep?! Nancy is in her crib next to me and just had a little wail, I looked in and she's still fast asleep.

11pm-7am last night! Clever girl.

Glad you had a better night last night tugs, fingers crossed for more of the same tonight.

AppleCrumples · 03/04/2013 16:25

Creepy just got back from mil and ivy slept most of the time and kept making little sobbing noises so cute! All mine have done this..ds1 used to do full on screaming but would be fast asleep. Used to frighten the life out of me! :)

Took everyone out in car for first time today. My friend suggested ds1 probably big enough for middle seat and no booster for short distances so we tried it today and it was ok but don't feel too comfy with it. We must look daft when wr stop and me and 4 kids get out of a fiesta!

Glad dd slept for you tugs a bit of rest always helps x

CreepyCrawly · 03/04/2013 16:44

Glad to hear that apple, was thinking maybe she was possessed haha

eagleray · 03/04/2013 16:47

Just a little bit of vom after feeds I said in last post - just fed her sat in car and she's done massive puke over me! Got to drive home now (30 miles) with clothes soaked in vom. Wish I could wear that spare babygro I put in the changing bag! Yuk - tempted to drive home without top on as it feels so bloody disgusting!

Funnily enough, madam is unscathed as she managed to project it away from her body...

lotsofthingstolearn · 03/04/2013 16:54

Hi everyone can I join in? My Ds is 12 weeks old today - where has that time gone? You all sound lovely btw so thought I'd take the plunge- be gentle....

I'm hoping you can help, I've watched from afar and I'm getting anxious that other people's Jan babies are sleeping. Not sure if I have a snacker or am being impatient with my 12 week old Ds. He just can not get to sleep longer in he night. We are loosely following baby whisperer EASY routine and fairly happy with it. He is ff

He goes to bed pretty much every night between 7-8 and is dream fed between 10-11 but still up at 3ish so most we get is 4hours max. He has gone 3 hours between feeds since the day he was born taking 90ml a feed. He weighs 15lb. Now he just won't take anymore than 90ml - 120ml (if we are lucky) and I think that it's stopping him from going those extra hours in the night as I just can't get enough into him during the day.

Last week I put him on Fastflow teats and he is still the same. With him being a big baby do I try and stretch him longer between feeds so he takes more or sit back and enjoy the fact that I have a healthy smiler and should not be so darn impatient !

Meringue33 · 03/04/2013 16:57

I am sure there is a growth spurt going on here too Pascha... Who was it said to look out for what they can do next, after a day of cluster feeding? Well LO damn near rolled over from back to front yesterday. Not quite, but he flipped his legs all the way over and was really trying hard. He was loving it too. He is so alert and curious now and spends hours taking stuff in and a really good amount of time playing.

Birdies · 03/04/2013 17:08

Cute pic loli

Welcome lotsof! Have you tried watering down his night feeds a bit, or giving him slightly less? Then he might feed more during the day. He may be too young for that though as I did this with DD1 but not until she was older.

glorious · 03/04/2013 17:25

what a lovely smile lolli

tugs I'm so glad things have improved. Much sympathy to Pascha, it's horrible when they go backwards and must be so hard when you have another one.

creepy my DD makes all kinds of noises in her sleep. This week she is grunting really loudly almost non-stop from her first night feed onwards, to the extent that I can't sleep Sad. So for the last 8-9 nights I haven't really slept after 2/4 (and she goes down at 11). She is normally so good!

Greetings lotsof. I have no idea on the nights I'm afraid but I know it's not just you, babies do seem to vary a lot for inexplicable reasons.

lotsofthingstolearn · 03/04/2013 17:41

Oh we have the grunting to the point that it's made the little poppets umbilical hernia 3 times the size of what it was so we now have a referral to the consultant! He's done it since he was born so it's just him- but he had a sleep over with my sister and she was horrified despite having 2 of her own who have never been as noisy!!Luckily I am slightly deaf in one ear and DH has earplugs!

glorious · 03/04/2013 17:46

wow that's impressive grunting lots! My DH has retreated to the spare room. Not sure I dare try the earplugs myself but perhaps... Hope the hernia isn't causing too much stress. I don't know anything about them.

lotsofthingstolearn · 03/04/2013 17:51

Glorious- He is so noisy- but apparently some babies just do it after googling far more times than I should have done. I hope that you manage to get some sleep soon

He's not in pain with it at all it's just you can really feel the hole now- it's about 3cm across and protrudes the same amount and is really bluey purple when he's straining . Supposedly they get better on their own but the GP wanted to just make sure with it getting bigger....we'll see what happens

How do I bold btw??

glorious · 03/04/2013 17:56

You too with the sleep, thanks.

The hernia doesn't sound too bad then but hope it does get better soon and that the referral is helpful.

You put an asterisk either side of anything you want in bold.

CreepyCrawly · 03/04/2013 17:57

Lots, put an asterix/star on either side of what you want to bold.

Yep Nancy is a grunter too, but only at night. She also only done it the last couple of weeks. It was keeping me awake to begin with because I thought she was uncomfortable, but now I know she's fast asleep I mostly manage to sleep through it. DH doesn't hear anything. Ever.

glorious · 03/04/2013 18:13

Same here creepy, only recently (she's nearly 9 weeks) and only at night. Hope I learn to sleep though it then, nice to know there's a chance!
