Our first thread has almost finished so I thought we'd need a new one!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
BuntyCollocks · 23/03/2013 23:08

She's very long legged, but skinny around the middle. Both dc are - luckily take after their daddy build wise!

She was 10lb4 on Tuesday and is 12 weeks today.

Pascha · 23/03/2013 23:15

Aww Smile she is diddy. Dan was 10lb2 at 7.5 weeks, no idea what he is at 11 weeks, about 12lb I would guess. He is also long and skinny.

Meringue33 · 23/03/2013 23:18

Thanks Bunty. I am sad about it, especially as I had "it" then "lost it", and when it was working it was great. Could not go on though, had thought of little else 24-7 for weeks. If something "clicks" during this period of transition I will phase the ff out and go back to bf, but at least this decision takes the pressure off in the meantime.

Lora1982 · 23/03/2013 23:36

Grin just polishing off a vodka and leaving my dp to do the evening shift. Im worked thoroughly hard today to just do boob so im in no doubt dexter will be wide awake for him in just a few short hours. Im evil but im trying to prove a point Grin

Some nappies are sized differently. Mum was trying to say that he needed to stay in size two which was for upto 13lb i think hes ovet r that. I have to turn tge top a bit down but i much prefer the safety of keeping everything inside in threes.

Lora1982 · 23/03/2013 23:38

I meant brands are different. A size 1 pampers is different to size one huggies, thats wht i noticed with all the newborn ones anyway. Ive got a load of reuseables when shall i pluck the courage up to use them?!?

mrsbugsywugsy · 24/03/2013 05:23

morning all. dd just slept from 11-5, a personal best smile] we took her to a wedding reception so maybe she was extra tired? she was getting lots of attention and was on great form.

meringue just wanted to second everyone else who said you are doing a great job, however you end up feeding your baby. if you are feeling like you might be getting pnd it's important to get help, perhaps talk to your gp in the first instance?

Meringue33 · 24/03/2013 06:04

Thanks Mrs, think I will, just need to vent in full to someone about how I feel. Poor DP is exhausted by it.

Lora I have reusables too! Just seems like one more thing to deal with!!

glorious · 24/03/2013 06:31

de-lurking to say creepy is the vest too tight? That caused us problems even when we went up a size in nappies.

And I agree with the others, you're doing brilliantly meringue and whatever works best for you both now is the right choice.

Bunny222 · 24/03/2013 06:45

Hppe you are ok meringue.
Well baby cinema went well, he just fed, slept or cuddled all the way through the film! Found it really relaxing, if wed been at home it would be prepare bottles/ put a wash on/ tidy up etc etc.

Interesting to hear not everyone is dropping weight breast feeding. Last week id put on two pounds... Cant believe im going the wrong way :-( hopefully once I start exvercising it will improve. Having massive chocolate cravings, worse than ive ever had! Need to sp indulging se[]

Bunny222 · 24/03/2013 06:47

Stupid phone... Need to stop indulging [:-(]
Any tips to combat choc cravings?

mrsbugsywugsy · 24/03/2013 08:16

bunny you can buy strong dark chocolate (aldi do a nice one), then you will only want to eat small amounts.

I think being tired makes me crave sugar too, sadly I don't have a solution for that.

Lora1982 · 24/03/2013 09:25

Im going to blame tiredness too Wink

so dp did the night shift but the dafty stayed awake all night! Dexter only woke up once but he sat watching netflix all night 'on guard'!

I second the tight vest theory. Also its best to make sure they are loose because of nappy rash too

birdies · 24/03/2013 09:50

bunty your DD would fit into size 3 nappies then as the lower range is 9lbs. Doesn't sound like you need to swap though if no leaks!

We've got a tesco delivery this morning and I'm trying tesco size 3s, I hope they're the same size as pampers. Only swapping as I think they're cheaper.

I fed 3 times last night so definitely growth spurt time. I checked the wonder weeks app and it says 2 days to the leap so is this right?!

Tugstonia · 24/03/2013 14:46

So having said that Tesco nappies are leak-free... we've had THREE poonamis so far today that have gone absolutely everywhere and required a bath for DD Shock

Question for those who had a c-section: are you using anything on your scar? My scar's not prominent or anything and it's not visible under the huge flap of flab anyway but I would like to try to get it to fade if possible. Does anyone have any recommendations of products? Can I use BioOil?

BuntyCollocks · 24/03/2013 15:10

tugs I had emcs with DS and didn't use anything. Can't see my scar now! Bio oil is a bag of shit.

Lostbobbles · 24/03/2013 15:43

MrsBug- try putting a little snuffle baby rub onto the soles of DD feet at night to see if it helps cough.

Happy : apparently asda nappies are supposed to be good lots of mums i know rave about them but DD1 was allergic to them so can't tell you first hand.

I have just stuck to pampers again this time as got on well with them with DD1 and I practically live in Costco so pick them up a little cheaper there. ( I used to find huggies left a residue on DD1's bottom) Just moved up to size 3's but they are on big side. I change at least once a night as she still constantly poo's and has very sensitive bottom Hmm I just do it before feeding so I don't wake her after.

Sleep front is still crap, back to 3-4 hours last night, I woke her for dream feed at 11.30 which was a first but then she woke at 2Hmm managed to hold her off until 3.30ish. Then about 5 she decided to projectile vomit everywhere, So complete baby and crib change.

Then got woken at 6.30 by DD1 who is poorly with a cold and nasty cough asking to go to drama! Then went into meltdown when told her she couldn't goConfused

Lazy Sunday got rudely interrupted by DH aunt announcing she was coming round in an hour so frantic shower and house tidy. Angry

DD1 fine in herself this arvo so we are going to go out for a bite to eat just waiting for DH to finish at the gym.

I am also with you ladies on the sugar addiction it's definitely the tiredness (so I tell myselfWink) The last 7 pounds I have to lose are not going anywhere fast. I have been losing about 3 pounds every week and then put it all on every weekend, when indulgence seems to go off the scale. (oink)Blush Mainly i really need to tone up though, as I tend to lose weight off my face. ( don't want more wrinkles) Just have zero motivation and also gym creche is from 3 months (as if i need an excuse) Going on holiday in two weeks so will have to buy tankini's to hide the jelly belly and baby handles (ain't much lovin going on to call them that!) Shock

Lostbobbles · 24/03/2013 15:47

Oh Tugs missed you on my essay Wink , I used bio oil on c/s scar with DD1 not sure it helped but scar is barely noticeable now

BuntyCollocks · 24/03/2013 19:57

Oh my god. The 3 month growth spurt/11 week developmental leap is hitting hard here. Dd exceptionally fussy on the boob, scratching/pulling/whining at it. Naps have gone to pot, as has the slightly earlier bedtime.

Fuuuuuuck.

BuntyCollocks · 24/03/2013 19:58

On the plus side she giggled for the first time on Friday!

Lostbobbles · 24/03/2013 20:41

Ahh can't wait for the giggles, so cute. DD2 kind of half laughs at mo.

Not good news on the next leap though Bunty Hmm just realised I will be on hols for it ShockConfused

Lora1982 · 24/03/2013 20:41

Aww bunty i bet that giggle made up for loads. I find smiles and chats make me forget a lot of rubbish he throws my way.... Puke on nipple for example. Hes 11 weeks tomorrow so i will anticipate the nastiness.

So whats everyones must have/best buys so far? We foun the play mat gym thing a complete success and it was only £20

newbie6 · 24/03/2013 20:52

Hi everyone,

For those of you on formula feed, have any of you used the hungry milk for their last feed? Someone told me it helps them sleep longer in the night but I'm not sure as although my LO only lasts about 3 hrs between feeds at night I don't want to put him on it if it doesn't really make any difference, had read some mixed reviews so thought I would check in with you guys?

X

happyhow · 24/03/2013 21:09

The best thing we've got (which we were given) is a portable play arch from mamas and papas. We currently have it clipped on his Moses basket but it can be put on his car seat or pram too. His baby gym has been a godsend as well.

I've just joined weight watchers online. Got a groupon voucher which gave me free sign up and 3 months membership for £17.49 so thought it was worth a go. I'm already 7lbs down on my pre-pregnancy weight without doing anything but determined to lose a dress size at least. Just feel I'm eating far too much crap these days.

Bought a new car today! Finally will have enough room to fit more than just the wheels for the pram in the boot! Unfortunately we won't get it til June but it's pretty... Smile

happyhow · 25/03/2013 05:24

6.15-4.45 between feeds! Wff!! Got no benefit from it though... He didn't wake for his 10pm feed so I went to bed and I kept waking up after 2am waiting for him to wake and he didn't. He's just done a perfect feed in record quick time and is asleep again! Mental. Going to keep an eye on him today to make sure he's not coming down with something.

SpringFlowers · 25/03/2013 07:37

Can I ask how the breastfed babies are sleeping at night? We usually feed once in the night now but have had one longer night. If your babies sleep for longer do you just wake up in a milky mess with massive boobs?
