It's her blood vessels bursting basically and bleeding into the skin layers. Hers are purple spots under her skin, they're not very big spots and they don't hurt. My brother had HSP which is a lot worse and very painful. They think hers was brought on by the trauma of her jabs, she screamed until she was purple but was so rigid she actually shook. The bleeding took ages to stop because of the adrenalin pumping it all out!
Just hope it doesn't become anything else now.

GTbaby · 27/02/2013 14:38

Ahhhh fuck. One large suitcase full of LO nappies n clothes. Still have to pack formula and his medicine stash. My clothes food and toiletries to go.

In sure ill forget something important that's really hard to get. And it's not like a normal holiday were I can just buy it there. We r out in rural India. Out In the sticks. Electricity is random. Milk is fresh from the cow! Oh man what have I let myself in for.

Fuck crap shit.

YellowWellies · 27/02/2013 14:40

GT good luck. Sounds v tricky Shock . How will you keep stuff sterile?

BigPigLittlePig · 27/02/2013 14:52

yw I love greys anatomy mcdreamy specifically - too lazy to move to put dvd into player though.

Good luck gt

ValiumQueen · 27/02/2013 14:56

I am watching Greys Anatomy at the moment, with a cup of coffee, having just finished scrubbing all my toilets and sinks. J asleep in his cot. Bliss.

StuntNun · 27/02/2013 14:58

I use the Oilatum cream for cradle cap Dicks, it works really well.

Sorry to ruin your hypothesis Sweetpea but DS1 epidural but no eczema, DS2 no epidural but has eczema.

You'll get two good nursing bras for £50 Chunky.

Tits use all that baby equipment. I move J between swing, door bouncer, play mat, high chair, sling and change mat on floor. He'll usually cope for a short while in each. I got an hours worth of housework done on Monday morning that way. It's worth persevering with the sling as once they're bigger you can put them in a hip hold or a back carry and it'll be easier to get stuff done.

Fuckity fuckity fuckbags. DP is a cocklicking arsehead.

He's off work. So why am I stuck at home with a pigsty and a velcro baby, with crippling period pains?

He's off out picking up a pram for his sister. He's been gone since well before 12. So fucking maaaaaad. The only thing he had to do today was to go to the tip with DS1's old bed, and the bags of rubbish and box from the new bed. Assumed it would take 2 trips and probably an hour. Instead of taking the stuff from inside so we could at least stop weaving in and out of rubbish, he's took the bed from outside, and then hasn't done a second run. Instead he's gone off with his fucking sister.

I've had me and the baby in the bath just because the pain got so sore, and it was the only thing I could think of to help the pain and keep O occupied. He took an hour to feed, and is now asleep. Feeling very sorry for myself.

DP can shit off. Twat.

If he was at work I'd have to manage, but he fucking isn't and yet I'm having to put up with no fucking help.

horseylady · 27/02/2013 15:20

Seeing as an epidural works through the spinal fluid and I'm not even sure it crosses the placenta I'm not sure there's a scientific link?! I had an epidural but he was removed about 20 minutes later so I'm fairly confident his dry skin is just him opposed to anything else.

Had a lovely swimming lesson then a lively lunch. Ds was well behaved out eating!! Makes up for the chatting at 4.30

I don't think formula helps much with sleep. It just takes longer to digest. I think the main difference is I'm able to differentiate his cries easier. So at night I know if he's just whiney or if he's actually hungry.

sweetpea1112 · 27/02/2013 15:23

Stunt the exception that proves the rule? Or does that not count for highly scientific studies such as mine?Grin

So, second lot of jabs done, Oscar was very brave, Mummy not so much. He charmed everyone in the waiting room before and after his jabs by chattering and smiling away. Proud.

HV advised Vaseline for his dry scalp so have bought that and some Dentinox shampoo on pharmacist advice.

His head was measured due to flatness and all seems fine. So not a bad day so far, just waiting for post - jabs meltdown to begin.

ChunkyChicken · 27/02/2013 15:32

I had minor eczema as a child - used to come up in winter in small patches. No epidural. I still get little circular patches of v dry skin in winter. My family has eczema/asthma/hayfever genes in spades...

Indeed stunt. Got 3 from John Lewis for £40, but I think I'd be better off getting measured in rigby & peller.

I think the trouble with 'formula = sleep" type things is you can't actually do a properly controlled experiment. You can't exactly re-do the same night, with the same baby to see if ff or bf is best iyswim. I think some babies will sleep & others won't...

detective I guess the TT helps explain the long feeds early on, as you said, but I'm surprised nobody on here thought of it!! Shock

ChunkyChicken · 27/02/2013 15:35

I think I had might have had purpura after having DD. I looked like I'd gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson - swollen, purple splotches all over my face & bloodshot eyes. It went quite quickly though. The main problem - the relatively long second stage (over an hour) & not breathing through the pushing/contractions. My pelvic floor suffered too. This time, I breathed!!!

YellowWellies · 27/02/2013 15:37

I made it off the sofa for an hour. Got lunch, a drink, put a wash on and started tea - then meh I have a carry monkey again with exploding vinegar pants. How long til he has a full set of knashers - I don't want to know do I? Grin

Horsey I'm sure there is no link between FF and better sleep but am sure the manufacturers wouldn't like us to think that?! Wink

ValiumQueen · 27/02/2013 16:04

DD2 is teething now at nearly 3 years old. Her last molars.

Contradictionincarnate · 27/02/2013 16:06

right d is happily playing on mat I should be ironing and packing but sooo tired I don't have the energy! having chippy chips tonight which should restore me! Smile
she only seems very happy if tune is playing on the sun thingys over the gym. and squawks til I put it on the tune is giving me a headache Sad

YellowWellies · 27/02/2013 16:06

Wah I suspected as much. Right more McDreamy it is.... DH can do tea.

TheDetective · 27/02/2013 16:07

DP has just really gone down in my estimation.

He can have the cunt prize today.

Fucker.

Contradictionincarnate · 27/02/2013 16:07

sweet my d had second lot of jabs today doesn't seem to have affected her apart from the fact she had a 30 min nap earlier!

Contradictionincarnate · 27/02/2013 16:08

still not back det is his sister single mum?

TheDetective · 27/02/2013 16:09

HAHAHAHA he's so stupid... Please tell me other men are this stupid? I told him he can take O with him in the car to the tip, as the car will mean he settles to sleep.

So after an almighty strop on the matter, he has just plonked the baby in the car seat and was fastening the straps.

Said baby is just in a vest and babygrow. The fizz is flying because I dared to suggest he might need a cardi or a coat on him.

Dick.

TheDetective · 27/02/2013 16:11

Oh he's back contra! And don't I know it!

His sister, god, I don't know. She is in and out of a relationship with her sons dad more times than I've changed knickers this year. As far as I know, they are currently together. The last time I spoke to her, they weren't. Hmm

BigPigLittlePig · 27/02/2013 16:24

Just woken up Blush
House a shitpit, not unpacked shopping from this morning, no dishes done, no tea done - feeding F then have to go pick up dh. Gah.
Also hardly drunk anything today so feel dryer than the Sahara.

capedcrusader25 · 27/02/2013 16:26

chunky that definitely sounds like purpura. Hoping O's will fade quickly too!
O has always taken an hour to have her bottle. She just will not have a bottle in one go or with a quick break. It's not even like she las loads to begin with!? Pain in the bum. Sorry your dp is being a bit if knobber det

GTbaby · 27/02/2013 16:41
