Who needs formula urgently?

I can get it all.

Let me know.

Twatscos had everything in stock at 5pm this evening.

Caped Where are you? I have a spare unopened tub of C&G first milk. I'll post it to you. If you want I can get it sent tomorrow, and next day del. If RM don't fuck it up!!!

Kyz I'm okay now! Thank you! The HV has suggested he has SMA staydown first, so I picked up a tub of that tonight! Hope someone else can make good use of it, with all this shortage. Is very worrying. Confused

I suggest a phone call to the manufacturers tomorrow for those having issues.

TheDetective · 25/02/2013 23:46

Twatscos did indeed prove to be Twatscos as predicted. I can't bloody believe it!

I bought O some mix and match clothes 2 weeks ago. First time I had been back there since that dick on a power trip just before Christmas.

Washed once, and 4 out of 5 items bobbled. Explained how carefully I wash his stuff, and that they had been washed once blah blah blah, only to be told I couldn't have a refund. Even though they were faulty, and I had my receipt.

Cutting a long story short, they eventually offered me a gift card, which I accepted but ONLY because I was getting the formula, and some things for DP, so I knew I would spend the money there and then. O screamed throughout the conversation, and I was clearly looking like a woman on the edge. They kept me waiting ages because 'no one from clothes is on here'. The refund policy was on the wall behind them yet they still wouldn't refund.

Their policy is 'If any of our products fall below the high standards you expect please return them within 28 days and we will happily refund or exchange the item. Please have your invoice with you to do this.'

I took the gift card, but I am not letting this go. They are awful at refunding anything. Why? WHY? GRRRRRRR.

Contradictionincarnate · 25/02/2013 23:53

aw det what a pain!!! grrr Angry

dd is asleep right now I am not mind racing!

TheDetective · 25/02/2013 23:58

I rang the HV today, and kudos to them, I got what I hope was good advice. They had a good long chat about O's feeding.

Anyway, the upshot is, we are trying him on SMA staydown.

He had his first feed on it at 10pm, but he doesn't vomit at night, or when he is lay down. Will see if there is any difference tomorrow morning.

I was really reluctant to change his formula, as I don't feel he has reflux, and the HV agrees he is quite the little conundrum. She said it was worth trying first before going on to the Gaviscon ignores short supply!! and give it a week. If no improvement then to go back to the GP.

Obviously he will probably grow out of it, but it is starting to upset him now, as he is constantly damp, he is spitting up every 5 minutes or less, and bibs do nothing, and I can't change him for every bit of damp, I literally couldn't take out the amount of clothes we would go through if I changed him all the time. It has gotten worse and worse. It doesn't upset him being sick, it just upsets him either being damp, or being changed. Can't win!

She also feels he isn't taking enough over a weekly period, as some days he takes 18oz or less. Am taking him to clinic on Thursday to be weighed. He seemed to remain static for a couple of weeks, but I do think he is gaining again now. I can't force him to take more, but hopefully if he is feeding better and less pukey, he will gain weight as he should do.

I just worry as he was a wee dot when he was born!

Evilwater · 26/02/2013 01:19

Up again, Sad maybe I can send you ladies some milk? There is plently here! I'm limited to 6 boxes per shop mind. Grin

Evil

TheDetective · 26/02/2013 01:25

I can't believe what I have just found on the Tommee Tippee website!

'Health guidelines recommend you make up bottles one at a time. It may be easier to store the cooled, boiled water sealed in the bottles and then add the formula at feeding time.'

No no no no noooooooo! Regular milks to be made with water above 70 degrees! Am fuming, wrong advice from a bottle manufacturer! Idiots!

Am so going to get on the case of that tomorrow. And Twatscos.

If O lets me... bahahahaha!

PurplePidjin · 26/02/2013 02:19

5 hours sleep Shock would've been longer but i stayed up to watch the end of Run Fat Boy Run with dp after putting R down :o

Det, measure round his neck and add 4". Draw a square where that measurement bisects it diagonally. Cut the triangle out of a layer of cotton and a layer of towel. Sew wrong sides together leaving 3" gap, turn and top stitch. Apply poppers to points.

ValiumQueen · 26/02/2013 03:37

Six hours. I got five as I was delayed by delicious naughtiness. Passing his driving test seems to have given DH new confidence in all sorts of ways.

J fed and settled within 15 mins which is a record. He seemed a tad snotty.

Thank you for wishes for sleep, especially pikz and your prayes x

PurplePidjin · 26/02/2013 03:40

5 hours sleep = 2 hour cluster feed

Contradictionincarnate · 26/02/2013 04:34

dd back up again ... splatting milk over me and now I can feel it dribbling down me too and I didn't manage a shower today either!
soo that was 5 hrs - not that I'm counting why does she keep getting my hopes up and what am I doing differently for her to sleep through?

Contradictionincarnate · 26/02/2013 04:45

not that 5 hours isn't sleeping through ...left her for a while as she doesn't normally cry just builds to a squeak or yelp. she seems to have a blocked nose again too! we are away Thursday hv tommorow for second jabs may try to get her to see a doc then if we can...

Pikz · 26/02/2013 05:00

Stunt we have done bcg. Red arm for a couple of days but no marks now. It's quite a jab but no ill effects after either.

We so far have done 7.30-12-4.30 and I survived gym. Now just for sleepy dust til 7.30.

PurplePidjin · 26/02/2013 05:20

All that for 1 1/2 hours. My nipples are shredded Sad

StuntNun · 26/02/2013 05:27

Thanks Pikz. When I / DH / DS1 / DS2 had the BCG there was loads of bleeding and pus and pain for weeks to months afterwards. DS2's was particularly awful so I'm really not keen for J to have his. There were

Stunt H had his just before Christmas and it was fine up until about 3 wks ago. It wept for about 6 hours or so and it's been fine since, he's just got a huge bump at the sight.

Thechick · 26/02/2013 05:51

The site??

Contradictionincarnate · 26/02/2013 05:52

aw purple I feel your pain though my dd had a longer gap... I don't think I could have coped tonight if my dd hadn't had a formula feed before bed! she is back to sleep so I should be too... think I will let her sleep in the morning as long as she wants! ... keep thinking if I get her up at 9 instead of putting her back down she will miraculously start sleeping at 8! ... I may give up on that.

Contradictionincarnate · 26/02/2013 05:57

although I think I will get woken... Sad
I just remembered dh keeps going on about a mysterious package due to arrive ... is our anniversary Friday (st David's day) so maybe he has got me something... I haven't bought him anything ... 4 yrs is flowers but I hope it isn't fresh flowers as we are away....hmmm
haven't even got a card and know he has got me one ... is that bad I know I should at least write a letter or something but I'm lazy too tired!
any quick ideas ? that take no time effort or money!? (and not sex- see I know how your minds work!!!)Wink

StuntNun · 26/02/2013 06:31

Mysterious parcels sound promising Contra! I have a parcel I received on Friday and still haven't found time to open yet. Blush It contains exciting tea funnily enough I already opened the mail order wine box.

We had another okay night here. J has gone back to a pattern of two feeds per night.

TheDetective · 26/02/2013 06:55

pidj He has dribble bibs, tommee tippee soft neck ones, and a few different types of regular bibs as well as wearing muslins like neckcheifs.

Nothing stops the vom on his clothes!! It either dribbles down to the crotch and/or legs, or it sneaks under the collar of the bib that's his favourite showpiece! or the bib is always damp or wet and irritating his neck and chin. I just feel like I can't win. Poor O!

Well, he woke at 3.30 and I picked him up and cuddled him. He went back to sleep in my arms til 6.30. Which is good. But I'm wondering if I should just feed him when he wakes rather than seeing if he will go back to sleep?

He always seems to settle better for me at night. Think I'm going to tell DP I'll do the night feeds. I want O to have consistency with his nights and DP is all over the show. I don't know if I'm just being too precious though and to just let DP get on with it?

It means DP will do the school run though. And I quite like that time alone with DS1 so don't want to stop doing it. But then I'll be damned if I'm doing night feeds and school run on DPs 4.5 days off. Hmm Why should I do it all when he is around so much.

I'm just being stupid aren't I? I should let him get on with doing a fair share of night feeds.

Dixiebell · 26/02/2013 07:05

I'm 5 pages behind, catching up slowly! But wanted to say detective, re Oscar's puking, Teddy is exactly the same. He'll puke regularly, no matter how long after a feed. And often seems fine lying down but it comes up and out as soon as he's moved or lifted upright. Soooo much washing. I have realised I've been wearing a pair of jeans for a few days with a com splatter down the back of one leg. And the carpet/sofas have suffered. And poor ds1 ended up finishing joint bathtime with bits of sick floating around him. As with O, Teddy doesn't seem overly windy. Anyway, just wanted to let u know it's not just O! Any medical people I've mentioned it to seem to say it's just what babies do. It's v different from ds1 but doesn't seem to upset Teddy so I'm not overly worried. But be interested to hear what doc says if you do get it checked out!

Ted woke at 10.30, 2, 4 and 6. Hmm. This after only waking once in last few weeks. Did have jabs yesterday so hoping that's why. We dropped dream feed a few weeks back and it seemed to help him sleep longer, ds1 was the same.

Dixiebell · 26/02/2013 07:07

That's a vom splatter. Not anything else Hmm

TheDetective · 26/02/2013 07:17

I'll let you know how we get on Dixie. Has Teddy always done it? O just randomly started it at 10 weeks!

Dixiebell · 26/02/2013 07:37

Yes, he's always been quite sicky, detective. I guess that's a difference.

Cacacaz · 26/02/2013 07:42

detective what about the bibs that are plastic backed? One of my friends little one used to projectile vomit. Her solution was to put few bibs in top of each other.

Holy moly I have just expressed 18oz of milk. Thank goodness the woman form the milk bank is coming today, my freezer Has been taken over with milk. I was hoping to go back to bed after expressing, no chance of that now M is having a right good chat to his mobile as I type.
