Someone slap me with a wet fish or something. Am worrying that my DS was starved all night he's fast asleep now the little pickle, good job he's cute. He would have signalled somehow if he was hungry/wanted more than a dummy right??!!!

TheDetective · 23/02/2013 11:38

Yes chunky he would!!

We go 12 hours without food, don't we? That is what babies learn to do also!

TheDetective · 23/02/2013 11:40

There is nothing that would stop a well, hungry baby screeching for food!

ValiumQueen · 23/02/2013 11:44

sophia not caught up properly, but just checking the 3 paracetamol was a mistake? Please be very careful with PCM. No more than 8 in 24 hours. I am sure you know that Smile also be aware of PCM in other meds. Will stop telling egg sucking techniques now.

ValiumQueen · 23/02/2013 11:57

sophia very interested to hear about homeopathy for periods. Ask to be sterilised now? It is such a relief to not have to worry.

J eventually slept again from 6.30 to 10 and woke up smiling. I was woken at 9 by breakfast in bed. Pancakes. Yum yum. DH is washing the car and we will go out as it is so lovely today.

Sorry for shitty nights and shitty men folk.

garden would their adjusted ages mean the sleep regression is yet to come?

kirrinIsland · 23/02/2013 12:07

Sophia my doctor told me to give it 3 months pretty much regardless of what was happening as it seem to be anything goes for the first 3 months and then things settle down. Sounds shit though, and it's annoying they won't do what you want - especially as it sounds like you've made an informed decision.

N went 7hours between feeds last night. This is a minor miracle as she has been doing a 3 hours stretch and then waking every hour or so. I feel like a new person!

MissMummy1 · 23/02/2013 12:13

Sitting in my office trying to prepare resources for a new client I'm meeting this afternoon. The nightshift worker (who conveniently forgets I too am awake all night with the resident sleep dodger) is snoozing and afore mentioned sleep dodger is having a meltdown. Sympathy cuddles with one hand, wrestling with the laminator and fighting the printer with the other; who said women can't multitask? This is my life now, isn't it? Confused

StuntNun · 23/02/2013 12:18

Thanks for the nice thoughts guys. I'm doing okay, just very tired. That said J is a lovely baby and much easier than the other two, I think it's just the accumulated poor sleep that's doing me in now. J went back to sleep this morning and I could have had a nap but with the TV on and a certain six year old thundering up and down the stairs that wasn't going to happen. DH had to go in to work just now so I think I'll take the kids out to Subway for lunch and call into Asda for some treats for tonight's dinner. I'm just waiting for the boiler man to service the boiler. It's probably going to hurt as last time it was serviced (Dec 11) he said he wasn't sure exactly how it was still working. Shock

Oh dear just seen the Nov 2013 antenatal thread and felt a little nostalgic pang in my chest ... NO! Grin

Sophiathecheesefairy · 23/02/2013 12:22

vq thanks for being concerned, is not often mummy's get someone being concerned for them, we spend our lives being concerned for other people. I am very conscious of how much drugs I take so don't worry and I don't usually take them unless I am really poorly, today I have a slight temp. I NEVER get a temp, it's so rare. Am feeling slightly better though after 2 paracetemol and some nurofen later and a big bowl of veg soup. I prob won't take anything else now till bed.

The homeopathy tale......when I was trying to conceive O we really struggled and I thinkit was maily because my cycle went from being 34 days exactly forever to all over the place after I had DS1, length ranged from 29 to 44 days.

So I went to see a homeopath, she spent ages with me learning all about me as not everyone would respond to the same remedy for the same thing. It was very therapeutic. Anyway I had Pulsitilla and straight away I went back to 34 day cycles and felt much better in myself. Got pregnant in three cycles.

I used homeopathy to deal with fear of, and, in labour too. Because of what happened with a very rough forceps birth with DS1 I was quite frightened of labour so in the last months I had a Bach flowers type remedy for fear and then in transition used Aconite which really helped.

I really rate it and I truely believe that using natural remedies can work really well alongside convention medicine.

Am off to play in the kitchen and make to tonight's jalfrezi.

ChunkyChicken · 23/02/2013 12:24

Thanks detective!! And you too I think VQ Grin

I know it is pure madness to doubt, & in the night he seemed perfectly content with the dummy. If he hadn't for even a second, a boob would have been offered next. I just hate getting covered in unwanted milk!! He's feeding every 2 & a 1/4 hrs now, so making up for it! Stupid Mummy.

And yes, missM it is Grin

ChunkyChicken · 23/02/2013 12:29

Sophia I see what the Dr means but that's more about medicating against possible future issues & saving the NHS money (for the op) than treating you as far as I can see. Not good.

ShellyBobbs · 23/02/2013 12:41

I don't think Tommy can regress any further with his sleep, he's been back in bed with us this week as he is so blocked up, the boob is just too much temptation for him Grin

mm it is, but it's so worth it when you get one of those wet gummy smiles.

applepieinthesky · 23/02/2013 12:44

tits I just saw that as well. It made me go all funny. Was talking to DP last night about having another baby and he said it was too early to think about it. I was sitting there thinking 'no not really' Grin I don't want one straight away but wouldn't rule out trying towards the end of the year or beginning of next. Don't dare tell him yet though.

DS seems to be a bit better today. Only one dirty nappy so far today compared to three the same time yesterday. Fingers crossed the worst is over.

Going to pick up a pushchair I won on eBay soon. I wanted a cheaper lightweight one for our holiday. I have seen the way they chuck them onto the planes so don't want to take the one we already have in case it gets damaged.

GTbaby · 23/02/2013 12:50

Thanks guys. My baby is not damaged. I think I was freaking out while watching dexter ... lol

Any yes I had same thoughts of how much ill regret thinking this when dc2 ends up being a Velcro baby!

Had booking in appointment today. They didn't give me my green book! Said I get it at 20weeks! I'm sure we all got it at the booking appointment ???

ShellyBobbs · 23/02/2013 12:59

OMG GT I thought you were pregnant by others comments but actually missed your post. Congratulations! How far are you? You'll love having 2 so close, they'll be thick as thieves and gang up against ypu and hubby Shock

BigPigLittlePig · 23/02/2013 14:01

Whoever invented ps3 should be shot. Or forced to look after lots of screaming babies whilst the mummies of the world do something equally useful like take a piss

Contradictionincarnate · 23/02/2013 14:12

I'm reporting to you babyless from on the town ...feels good but very weird! awaiting dh to get me a nice sav blanc whilst I save a place by the screen ready for the rugby...

Brockle · 23/02/2013 14:28

we are a house of sniffles. little Y is,asleep on me, DS2 is asleep on sofa. DS1 is in the bath cleaning.g his knees after football (a win, yay!) and DH making tuna melts whilst I watch tv in. pj's . not bad when you have the sniffles Smile

Y finally worked out how to tip his music cube over to play the music. so cute to see him actually playing with something rather than just watching and touching Smile

TheDetective · 23/02/2013 15:12

Oooh! My first item of looser clothing was found today! I have a pair of pj bottoms and shirt in 2 different sizes, I wore the bigger size when pregnant and kept the smaller size for after. I wear both sizes now. I'm probably in between both sizes as the bigger size is very big, smaller size a little snug. Buttons busting at the seams!

I put one of the shirts on this morning and immediately thought it felt a little tight but not as tight as usual. Then I scrambled to the label hoping to god it wasn't the bigger size that had just got a little snug! But it wasn't! Yay! Buttons not busting on it now!! Whoooooop!

My tummy is less jiggly and more usual fat like too lately.

Strange question. My boobs and tummy feel incredibly sensitive, and I don't want to be touched at all at the front. It is as if they feel like tissue paper, all fragile and thin? It is hard to describe, but when touched, it isn't a pleasant feeling. Anyone else had similar??!

StuntNun · 23/02/2013 15:39

J just had a go in the door bouncer and his feet wouldn't touch the floor! Ffs he's not quite four months but he's not small. It's a normal doorway as well, it's not like we have high ceilings or anything. Oh well he had a nice time bouncing on some cushions I suppose. Maybe if I got the dog to lie in the doorway...

DH is back from work. He reckons he's going to get his arse handed to him on a plate on Monday. Long story short he had to stop one of the lines in the factory increase product testing prior to release. So while it's not his fault, he's the one creating all the extra work for folk and will be getting the blame from his co-workers. I just hope his boss took notice for annual review time.

I'm trying to get J tanked up in the hope he'll sleep better tonight. Dammit when he was going 10-4 I could have a guilt-free glass of wine in the evening. No chance of that tonight if he's going to want feeding every two or three hours.

Oh and the boys gave me another verse:
Row row row your boat, gently down the stream. Push your teacher overboard, just to hear her scream.

M is 3 months old today!! It's flown. Happy 3 months to Oscar too

I'm ridiculously excited because it's the first weekend of the Motorsport I follow The first round is in Ox though so ill be TiVo'in it rather than watching live.

M has spent most of the day sleeping Confused DH took her downstairs this morning while I had a lie in, she was full of gurgles and happy shouts then she's been asleep on and off since 10:30. We're going our for tea at 6, bet she decides to be awake and cranky then Grin

Just been sorting out her 3-6/6-9 clothes, she's loads! She's only just gone in to 0-3 though so hopefully they'll last a while

MissMummy1 · 23/02/2013 16:23

I have a new client Grin !! Just an hour a week with a lovely wee 5yr old.

I am going to kill not so darling p before he leaves for work. I was gone an hour. The one sodding thing I asked him to do was give her her meds. He is very against her having them so conveniently 'forgot'. He did not forget. Nor did he forget 2 days ago when he didnt give her them. I am furious Angry

horseylady · 23/02/2013 16:28

Madness all of you thinking about another. Madness!!

I think time last year I was starting to think I might, just might be expecting!!! I took a test 5 days later!!

17 weeks today,4 months Wednesday. It's crazy. Just crazy.

I'm nearly half way through my mat leave!! And trying to persuade my mum to leave her job!!

applepieinthesky · 23/02/2013 16:52

I used to think people that had babies really close together were nuts. Until very recently in fact. Now I'm getting envious of GT. Not the pregnancy or labour part though. What's got into me?

What meds is she on MM?

Sainsburys have got a sale on. I just got a bed in a bag set for DS's cot reduced from £40 to £12. Really cute jungle design.
