He's had one since 12 months is what that should have said! only W decided to press post for me Grin

CheshireDing · 01/04/2013 18:37

Hmm, as I expected she got very excited when she saw it but is now kicking off. Yes she is a mega wriggler and ends up all over the bed so I cant see how a duvet is going to work.

Going to send DH in shortly, it was his idea!

Engelsemama · 01/04/2013 18:40

M is still in sleeping bag. We have some duvets ready for him (from BIL and SIL).

It's Wine o'clock here (well, it IS a bank holiday AND I don't have to go to work tomorrow) [slacker emoticon]

A whole 2 child free days to myself [bugrin]

CheshireDing · 01/04/2013 19:20

Engels maybe you should start ttc now Grin it's taken us since last March (I know the Dr's said only 3 months officially due to only just getting AF but as far as I am concerned it's taken a year. Plus we still have the wait for first scan to make sure there is actually something in there, fx.

If you conceived in Alice Springs thought that would be an okay name Grin

Pene according to the iphone it would be end of November (although iphone gave a different date to the one that Dr said last time by 1 week). I seem to have acquired a tummy today too which is very disturbing already!

How was S's sleep last night Annie?

Well thakn you for all the replies.Glad everyone else is still using bags. P is back in her grobag, she sleeps on her front with her bum in the air but she wriggles all over the cot bed. I told DH he needed to read up on how to actually introducer her to it first rather than thinking it was a good idea to do the night before we go back to work. Plus he only thought of it because his friend does it, this, incidentially, is the friend who we had to take our own toys to the other day because they had ONE toy in the lounge! How the hell do you enterain a toddler all day with ONE toy!!??? Baffled.

Engelsemama · 01/04/2013 19:31

Believe me cheshire I would LOVE to start ttc 6 months ago right now (though must admit that feeling does wane a bit when I have one of those days with M where I spend the whole day saying "No!"). Took us 18mo to get pg with M (and 1 mc) but tbh the first 12months we weren't trying properly/paying attention to the calendar. This time I'll be at the ready with ovulation sticks from the word go.

I only hope that things get better with DH as depression does not really create a high libido. He's losing hair on the back of his head (as well as one of his eyebrows) which is all linked to his depression. Hopefully he will get himself back to our GP (he promised he would) as ADs alone are not helping. He really needs some more support.

Wine all round I'm not an alcoholic I promise

Engelsemama · 01/04/2013 19:32

One toy?!! Would they like some of our plastic crap that has taken over our living space toys?

ClimbingPenguin · 01/04/2013 19:42

DD got a blanket once she could un-zip her sleeping bag (which was soon). The pillow came much much later (after a trip to nanny's house I believe). It is good for them to be without a pillow I believe. DS got one as when we transitioned him to the cot he didn't quite realise he was supposed to lay down. So we took the pillow that he normally slept on from the bed. He still doesn't do the whole night in the cot, but he has been waking just once around 3am, still having no night feeds and I can leave him to go to sleep by himself 50% of the time. Progress!

One toy! Most days my living room looks like a very badly organised toy shop! and that's with only a few hours play at home because we're at work/nursery it's even worse on home days!

PenelopeLane · 02/04/2013 08:01

One toy??? We have one hundred toys in the living room!

Engels Grin at Whakapapa.

PenelopeLane · 02/04/2013 08:30

I have to share something that happened to me yesterday at the playground. A boy of about 4 came over to me, pulled down his superman suit that he was wearing, turned away from me, and chanted 'look at my butt crack' a few times.

I couldn't decide whether to laugh, cry, or quiver in fear that my son might do something like that one day!

Ooops sorry. Didn't mean to share my wee story twice!

Engelsemama · 02/04/2013 10:28

You made me spit my coffe out Pen Grin

Am out in the garden enjoying (finally) some sunshine and having a good tidy up.

M is at nursery and was too busy playing to wave goodbye to me this morning Smile

Hope everyone is having a good day.

sassy34264 · 02/04/2013 23:12

No pillows here but they all have homemade duvets. Mum cut a big one up and made covers for them.

Having fun and games with Eva at the minute as she has been able to climb out of her cot since last week!

She's not even 18months yet!

She is totally resistant to my firm voice as well. Little tike. Grin

Engelsemama · 03/04/2013 08:35

Brrrrr...It is still so cold here! Shivering inside. Heading out to the garden centre now and then to potter in the cold sunshine.

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 03/04/2013 08:42

It was -3 here overnight but hoping to reach 8/9 degrees today Grin?

We are off to meet friends for lunch and some holiday shopping today Smile

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 03/04/2013 22:04

Finally just getting round to filling out the forms to have a copy of all my maternity records sent to me. Only taken me 18 months to do... Confused

PenelopeLane · 04/04/2013 06:48

I am packing for my trip to Australia! YAY! I am also ignoring weather forecast that says rain. I never pictured rain during this trip. They never have rain in Home and Away and Neighbours Grin

Anyone got any tips for toddlers and planes? I suspect the trip will be a long 4 hours ...

we don't use a pillow yet either. And wow sassy you must have such a little climber! A is a while away from climbing. He does however loooove running at present. His thing is running in a circle, yelling "Atai run". It's very cute, although not ideal if he tries it on the plane

LittlePebble · 04/04/2013 07:23

Aw Cheshire so pleased for you! Was only wondering how your ttc was going at the weekend and then I logged on this morning and saw its worked Grin

pen lots of toys and try and sit next to a friendly old lady who will play with him the while journey. Very Envy of your holiday have a wonderful time.

Have finally recovered from a mega bout of norovirus (felt like I was in labour it was horrendous) and back to normal. Luckily E missed it don't know how

Duck how do you request your maternity notes?

sassy34264 · 04/04/2013 15:44

pen I would say the opposite. No toys.

IME they go through them in record time and then you have nothing left. I don't give mine toys on trips. I let them sit there, look out the window, have a juice, banana, cracker etc. Take crayons and paper, books, sing nursery rhymes.

Plus, you only end up spending the entire time retrieving them off the floor Grin

Have a fab time. A girl i went to school with emigrated a year ago and i get extremely jealous when she posts on fb. Much to dp's annoyance cos i'm always updating him about her, in a look how great her life is way. it's not working though

pebble sorry you have been so bad.

Apart from colds, we seem to be out of the illness tunnel

Eva has a cracked and slightly infected thumb though from sucking it. Any ideas? She is my 1 st thumb sucker and i'm not sure what to do. Both me and dp thought dummy. But i don't want to really go down that route, as it is a pain in the ass getting them weaned off them. Trying lanisol at the moment, but it's sucked off quite quickly. Hmm

strawberrypenguin · 04/04/2013 18:23

W is a dummy boy sassy so I don't have any experience of thumb suckers but I remember my mum trying everything on my sister and nothing worked. You might find that she refuses a dummy anyway if she likes her thumb. I would keep it as moisturised as possible and could you maybe put a plaster on for a bit or would she bite it off?

CheshireDing · 04/04/2013 19:47

Don't know what to suggest for thumb sucking Sassy except could you put the Lanisol on that something which she doesn't like the taste of over the top? Would she still go for a dummy at this age?

We have been trying just the pillow as P is really not getting the duvet thing (even though she gets under ours!).

Where are you going Pene? Enjoy :) The iPad/similar work quite well as a plane distraction technique and generally walking up and down the plan FOR HOURS.

Glad you are feeling better Pebble

Mummy why do you want to read them? Not sure I fancy that idea much.

CheshireDing · 04/04/2013 19:50

Oh yes and it was ONE TOY that didn't even respond back to you (it was a ball pool) and they kept tidying P's toys away while they were both playing with them Hmm.

P has started carrying the activity table this evening, whilst make He-Man noises.

Pene I think 4 year old boys like to take their clothes off for something reason. Good luck with that in 3 years Grin

sassy34264 · 05/04/2013 00:44

Cheshire and pen its not restricted to 4 year olds. Jacob likes to get 'nekid' at 2. Grin

Running round yesterday after taking his clothes off, with the metal extention from the hoover. Looked like something out of lord of the rings.
