The move wasn't too bad to be honest. W have been living with my parents for 18 months so it is lovely to be in our own place.

Equimum · 17/02/2013 12:33

Oh hales fx that ur little one is okay. Can't imagine how you're feeling right now.

hales we did try the hot water bottle and have used heartbeat sounds, as well as lots of other white noise sounds. The dr doesn't think it is reflux, as LO won't even settle in bouncer at night. Really sorry, I can't remember who suggested sleeping on front, but if you do that, do you turn their face to the side so their nose/ mouth are free of the mattress?

Jealous of all these lovely breakfasts BTW. We're just off to see my horse and get some fresh air.

WLmum · 17/02/2013 13:12

She turns her head herself and is quite capable of pushing her head up and wiggling around! We did buy a movement sensor mat which actually I am pleased with having been sceptical. You also just need to be aware that they get a bit warmer on their tummies so dress lo a little cooler. With my 2 (dd2 was easier and happy on her back) the fact that they were more comfortable was instantly obvious.

HoneyMumandSon · 17/02/2013 15:18

Possibly a stupid question but is it ok to use different types of formula? We had some ready made aptamil which he had last night and this morning bit have only been able to get sma today as that was all shop had. Is that ok?

WLmum · 17/02/2013 16:27

Haven't tried mixing myself but I don't see why it would be a problem.

halesball · 17/02/2013 17:07

I think it should be ok Honey i asked my friends which formula they used most of them swopped and changed till they found one that best suited their LO's. So it must be ok to swop.

Well H's rash is getting more wide spread but she seems ok in herself just breastfeeding more which is unusual because the last few days shes mostly refused my breast and wanted a bottle instead. However the new development is i now have come out in a rash! So i think i'll be booking to GP appointments 1st thing tomorrow.

WLmum · 17/02/2013 17:18

Oh dear hales hope you're both ok.

EggsMichelle · 17/02/2013 17:26

Hales have you had measles/vaccinated against it? She is probably using your boob for comfort, fingers crossed the GP can reassure you in the morning.

F was reluctantly returned to us by my wonderful mil (wish you all could have one like her!) he was full of smiles and has clearly recovered from his cold over night. He even sat in his chair for 1.5hrs whie I read Woman in Black to him! Is it terrible that I'm looking forward to his next weekend away in march?

bohoec · 17/02/2013 17:40

Thanks for the advice everyone. We have tried baths together, and DD is a bit better then, so we'll try doing more skin to skin.

WLmum · 17/02/2013 17:45

Not terrible at all eggs. I'm not ready to leave T yet (also ebf) but am very much looking forward to a weekend away with DH when the time is right. Right now just trying to find a window for a bit of loving! It's been a very long time!

SpottyTeacakes · 17/02/2013 17:54

Hales hope everything is ok Thanks

Eggs I'm really missing going out I think it'll get worse as the weather gets warmer! Still can't imagine we'll be having an evening away from ds for a long time, completely my fault though I'm convinced no one could settle him like I can! maybe that's because dp is lazy at trying and both our parents never hand him back when he's hungry Hmm

Just had toad in the hole for dinner, yum!

FoD you must be so happy to have your own space again!

WLmum · 17/02/2013 18:11

Ooh toad in the hole spotty great idea! That's tomorrow's dinner sorted then'

ISpyPlumPie · 17/02/2013 18:26

Hales - thinking of you and keeping fx for you.

Had a lovely afternoon. N was really good in the car both ways and my friend's DS is gorgeous. He and N were grinning at each other at one point - so nice to see. Also just good to catch up with everyone.

HoneyMumandSon · 17/02/2013 19:41

Bit of a long shot, but anyone on here know anything about employment law?

SpottyTeacakes · 17/02/2013 19:57

I once sued someone for unlawful dismissal does that count?! Grin

Talking about law my friends husband (ex still married not sole carer but nothing legal in place) has applied for a passport for their dd stating he has sole residency/responsibility/guardianship and put his address down! Is this illegal? Will he get caught out?

EggsMichelle · 17/02/2013 20:05

Spotty don't you need permission from both parents to remove a child from the country even for a holiday? Applying for a passport with that statuse would suggest he doesn't need permission from the mother, doesnt sound good! Isn't Seconds a lawyer?

IsThatTrue · 17/02/2013 20:14

I had my XH threaten to go to court over my dcs going to Dubai. Solicitors wanted me to surrender their passports or they would take me to court. So I assume you need both parents permission.

Secondsop · 17/02/2013 20:39

Hello, I am a lawyer but I don't know about employment law and I don't know the answer to the passport question but I think you're right and that it is hard for one parent to take a child abroad by themselves without a letter. Do they have the same surname?

Thanks for the tube map link mamapo. I think it'll be buses for me!

Chloe55 · 17/02/2013 20:44

Pretty sure you need both parents permission.

SpottyTeacakes · 17/02/2013 20:48

Yep same surname. He's just being a twat and it's made me Angry

I think we might be getting, dare I say it, a bit of a bedtime routine!

IsThatTrue · 17/02/2013 22:34

I just put DS down wide awake on the off chance and I think he's going to sleep! Shock he's been so grumpy today with a cold!

WLmum · 17/02/2013 23:29

She won't go to sleep :-( have been trying for over 2 hours. She feeds to sleep but after a few mins wakes up wide eyed and smiling. So tired and getting fed up, had her in the sling for 3 hours today and my back hurts. I just want to lay down (without her!)

WLmum · 17/02/2013 23:32

Does anyone's lo suck their thumb? I think dd would really benefit from it and seems to be trying - well she sucks at her hands when she's in the cot and trying to sleep but can't quite work it out. She's 9 weeks on tues.

Secondsop · 18/02/2013 00:37

WL I came on just now to ask the exact same thing, whether anyone else's baby had started thumb/hand sucking. Z is 11 weeks and he started it in the last few days. He's doing it right now. We give him a pacifier usually to get him to sleep so I wonder if they're learning about comfort sucking and trying it out themselves. Lately he's been less keen on taking a pacifier seemingly preferring his own hand, and I'm inclined to listen to him especially as he made such a fuss about infacol which I turned out was making his reflux worse.

SeymoreInOz · 18/02/2013 00:48

DS has been thumb sucking for a few weeks, but more licking it really. He can't seem to get it in and keep it in yet.
