Hi everyone, it looks like people are planning lots of lovely things for the weekend :)

Yesterday dcs had inset day so it was my first day home alone with all 3 and working. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be tbh! Dd (8) was such a big help. She even took ds2 out in the garden in his buggy when he was bored and fractious, and got him to sleep. Both dd and ds1 spent about 3hrs playing train sets with fs2 in his chair next to them showing him all the trains. It was great for him to have some dcs to interact with!

Today ds1 has a football party and I need to pop into the farm shop on the way past. Dd and DH are going to pick up mil from the airport. urgh she's going to be a pain wanting to see DS 2 all the time . Then tomorrow in taking the dcs to see Smurfs on the kids am at the cinema, I love a cheap cinema visit!

Hello again everyone,

I keep popping on and off this thread, but am a big lurker! I keep losing my place and can't keep up! However, I've now learnt to bookmark, so problem solved.

My 9wk old DS screamed for hours last night, gave me a thumping headache which I still have this morning. May take home out on the sling and hope the fresh air clears my head and makes my little gremlin sleepy !

SpottyTeacakes · 16/02/2013 08:02

Oh poor you coffee. We've had periods like that it's awful. Hope you have a better night tonight Smile

Congratulations Mr Utopian! Coffee that's pants, get some paracetamol and ibuprofen in you(medicine of the gods!)

F slept 6hrs, awake 2hrs, and just woken 4hrs later, best birthday present ever! He is staying overnight at pil's tonight, first overnight separation, I'm very anxious.

SpottyTeacakes · 16/02/2013 08:13

Hope you have a nice evening eggs. I didn't leave dd overnight until she was over two Blush

Great news Utopian.

Chloe55 · 16/02/2013 09:40

Congrats on Your dhs new job utopian

Happy birthday eggs

Sorry about your shit sleeping pattern again spotty

Had our first romantic night out since dd last night, got pretty drunk Grin However, was planned to be my first night off from feeds/nappies etc yet after waking at 3am (having gone to bed at 2am) and seeing no sign of dd or dh I trecked downstairs and found them asleep on the sofa AngryAngry I angrily snatched her up, pulled drunk dh of the chair onto the floor in a rage and took dd up with me, so cue me doing the rest if the night feeds and nappy changes whilst trying to express swell. Really not sure it was even worth it Sad Oh and without wanting to be too crude we had our first night of 'passion' which was disastrous. Dh had been building it up all week, it felt more forced (not dh forcing, just the situation) than ttc and if I'm honest I just don't feel like I want it at all Sad Does anyone else feel like this? Dh thinks he's so hard done by.

SpottyTeacakes · 16/02/2013 09:44

Sorry you ended up having a crap evening Chloe. Dp and I still haven't had sex. I'm just too knackered he'll have to look after himself! Does he understand why you're annoyed about him falling asleep, with dd, whilst drunk, on the sofa?

OP posts:
Chloe55 · 16/02/2013 09:54

Yeah because I have been drilling it into him from day one NEVER to fall asleep with her and even if he is watching her and feels sleepy I'd rather he bring her to me.

SpottyTeacakes · 16/02/2013 09:59

Well hopefully he has learnt from his mistake and won't do it again. Have you got a hangover?!

OP posts:
Chloe55 · 16/02/2013 10:08

Yes, banging headache, drinking sucks Grin, this coming from a previously pretty big drinker!

SpottyTeacakes · 16/02/2013 10:15

You need junk food Grin I used to drink all the time but since having dd I get the worst hangovers and I'm always sick! Can still drink dp under the table though Wink

Morning All, I can't keep up with the thread at the minute so haven't read everything. Dreadful couple of days after injections on Tuesday. DS has had a temperature, screamed the house down and then had diahrroea for 2 days. This coincided with DP working late every night this week. I'm exhausted. Luckily DS has started responding and smiling/cooing/giggling when you play with him so it all feels so so worth it now at least! Although this morning he shunned me and chose the playgym instead!

Sorry your night was a bit rubbish Chloe, hopefully DP has learned his lesson about sleeping when in charge of DD.

Congrats to Mr Utopian. Flowers

Hope you have a lovely night Eggs.

Good luck with the MiL visit Isit how long is she staying?

I'm booked on a 2 day hen do in 3 weeks, I'm not convinced I'll manage it. It was supposed to be mid-April but the bride's twatty sister announced she'd prefer to move it forward 5 weeks and that was that. We'll see how I feel closer to the time.

IsThatTrue · 16/02/2013 10:51

Oh god willyou she's not staying here, I think I might kill myself have a breakdown if that ever happened. No she's been in Dubai with FIL for the last month and she's back today. But she will now be trying to make up the time she's missed with ds2. The main advantage of him being ebf if u ask me, people have to hand him back when he's hungry.

Congratulations mr utopian

eggs happy birthday, have a lovely night out, LO will be fine. :)

chloe I hope your DH is suitably ashamed! Falling asleep with baby when he's drunk is not ok! I completely understand your reaction. As for sex my poor DH hasn't had any for about 5 months. I'm getting to the stage where I want to now finally (DS is 10 weeks) but we haven't sorted any contraception yet. Blush

Well I've been up since our 5.40 feed. Couldn't get back to sleep so gave up and did some work instead. Have since bathed and fed everyone. (Ds2 twice as it appears he's allergic to the 3 drops of tea tree oil I put in the full bath he shared with me Hmm and he came out in a rash, so I had to bath him again in plain water!) although he's slept-fed-slept the whole time since which is nice.

Secondsop · 16/02/2013 11:22

Congratulations utopian's DH!

For those who commented on London transport, the Scope website has a London accessibility tube map (which Victoria is not on). We asked a friend what whey do and they said they always got the bus as the tube is really not workable unless you happen to be going between 2 accessible stations.

SpottyTeacakes · 16/02/2013 11:26

Yeah Victoria doesn't even have an escalator so would be a right pain. Although I have seen people bumping babies up steps on the tube

OP posts:
Secondsop · 16/02/2013 15:21

I'm lucky, I guess, that I know the bus network and can get around easily; I'd imagine some people especially those visiting London wouldn't be comfortable navigating the bus network and prefer the tube despite the inconvenience. I do like the Croydon tramlink as well - it's completely accessible from where I am and really easy with a pushchair so I can have an entirely step free journey into Central London but then the trouble starts.

coffeeandcream · 16/02/2013 16:51

I'm planning on taking DS to London in the next few weeks and we'll be going in the sling. There's no way I could manage my pram on the tube. Plus, I've always felt that mums with pushchairs are made to feel most unwelcome on the tube :(

SpottyTeacakes · 16/02/2013 17:15

Who else has a baby who gets bored really easily? I think ds will be much happier once he can sit up Hmm

I just phoned dp whilst he was in tesco and asked him to get some garlic bread, then we discussed a nice pudding. He's just got home and forgot the garlic bread Hmm useless!

We have moves house today. Moving with a 9 week old is just hard work!

PurplePidjin · 16/02/2013 19:06

Spotty, R absolutely loves his bumbo! Sat in it for half an hour on the dining table earlier while i did some sewing (which he's now wearing) :o

FoD you're mad Shock

SpottyTeacakes · 16/02/2013 19:10

Wow FoD Wine for you tonight!

Pidj I don't think ds is ready for the bumbo yet he's only 7 weeks corrected so still a wee bit wobbly sometimes!

HoneyMumandSon · 16/02/2013 19:55

D loved his bumbo too.

Had his first ever formula feed today as I ran out of expressed milk and the thrush makes bf too painful for him. He's just screamed at my boob when he's tried. Are formula poos different to bf poos?

SpottyTeacakes · 16/02/2013 19:55

I need a clickable link as I'm on my phone, but I have a feeling I'm not going to like this... Hmm Grin
