FoD that's rubbish. I'd make a complaint about that!

Babies are so weird. 20 mins after her jabs, and after a good feed, C is all smiles. I doubt it will last - she looks strung out.

HoneyMumandSon · 14/02/2013 13:01

Oh hales how worrying for you. Hope your dn is better soon and that Heidi is ok.

fod that's rubbish. He shouldn't be reading texts while he has a patient in anyway but then responding like that is awful

SpottyTeacakes · 14/02/2013 13:42

Ds has slept 20 minutes all day I want a nap but he's really fighting it!

Chloe55 · 14/02/2013 13:58

hales oh no, I really hope your dn keeps the measles to herself!

fod I can't believe your go took a call like that in what should really be one of the most important postnatal appointments. Do you feel OK? Did you want to talk about your emotions with him? If so i'd def make another appointment.

Have read up about block feeding am gonna give it a go just to rule out the possibility of oversupply. Everyone keeps telling me not to worry about the green poo but that's hard when you know 'normal' bf poo is yellow and that it was before my illness.

SpottyTeacakes · 14/02/2013 14:08

I would give it a go too Chloe Smile

Ds is a rascal he would not fall asleep in his bouncy chair but as soon as I put him on my chest he zonked out Grin

Chloe55 · 14/02/2013 14:36

dd does that spotty, then I try to put her down and PING! eyes open again Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 14/02/2013 14:42

Well he did half an hour Hmm I could really do with a nap it's the only day I get a chance!

v unhappy postjab baby - cries as soon as she's off the breast and has barely slept all day. just gave her a dose of calpol, i hope it helps her rest.

halesball · 14/02/2013 15:35

They don't admit them to hospital anymore unless their dehydrated or showing signs of being really ill. My DN is currently playing so no need for the hospital.

Sorry your little one isn't feeling to great Mama.

FOD how rude of your GP.

Chloe, i block feed continually now it seems to work for me and Heidi.

Spotty get your DH to let you have a hour later (i know alot easier said than done but FX he will).

SpottyTeacakes · 14/02/2013 15:49

He's going to football training Hales HmmGrin at least ds is happy and smiley

I just got told by a hv not to let my 10lb 11oz, 10week old baby go more than 4 hrs without a feed (ie overnight) Hmm I nodded and smiled, and will be ignoring this advice. He doesn't go more than 2 hrs during the day I am not going to be waking him to feed him at night!!

I really shouldn't bother getting him weighed. I think I shall stop. He's obviously growing he's between the 25th and the 9th centile and I think I've decided that I should not need to know what he weighs that much to put up with the hvs twaddle!

hales I hope your dn gets better soon and I really hope she's kept it to herself.

SpottyTeacakes · 14/02/2013 16:08

Sorry you have a crap HV IsThat, I'm really lucky with mine. Going to get DS weighed on Monday, it will have been four weeks and he'll be 12 weeks. Also his legs have got chubby!

OP posts:
MaMaPo · 14/02/2013 18:25

Is that, if my HV said not to go beyond 4 hours per feed at night I'd laugh at her. As if! But I agree she sounds full of it and you should enjoy your sleep if it comes your way.

Frankly draining day here today - little girl just cried, fed and slept all day. The one time I got out of bed to pee and find sustenance her sobs were awful. Just no idea if she'll sleep tonight - her naps today were short, only on me, and punctuated by crying. I think we're in for a tough night. The calp

MaMaPo · 14/02/2013 18:25

Calp

MaMaPo · 14/02/2013 18:26

FFS! The Calpol seems to have done nothing - maybe will give her another does in an hour or so

Sorry for the rubbish typing/multiple posts - tired and on my phone, so I'm all thumbs.

Secondsop · 14/02/2013 19:33

mamapo hope she feels better soon. A second dose might if nothing else help her sleep.

Z has been cranky today. Although he's not even near the suggested weight for an increased amount of formula am wondering whether to offer him more as we seem to have very little non-hungry time the last few days. I put him on the breast between feeds but he's needed more and more breast.

IsThatTrue · 14/02/2013 19:44

mama poor dd hopefully she sleeps tonight and feels better in the morning! I know. You'd think, this being my third baby and all, that they would trust my instinct. Although I obv haven't been doing that or I wouldn't have gone. I've definitely decided not to go back.

seconds I ff 2 dcs and never realised there was a guide by weight. I just used to up each feed by an ounce if they were consistently finishing the bottles or if they were getting hungry earlier for the next feed. 2 adults of the same weight can have completely different appetites, surely the same is true for babies afaic.

Chloe55 · 14/02/2013 20:26

Does anyone else's dc hysterically cry when you put them to bed? We do a lovely bath, massage, feed, by which point she's very sleepy-put her in bed and she screams the house down Confused it generally takes a good 20mins of running up and down the stairs putting her dummy in. The bonus is its keeping me fit Grin

Chloe55 · 14/02/2013 20:27

mama dd was very unsettled after her jabs yesterday but by 3am this morning I'd got my smiley little girl back. Hopefully, the same goes for you.

IsThatTrue · 14/02/2013 20:44

chloe I have no idea I don't bother trying to put DS down awake. it's not that I enjoy snuggles too much honest

SpottyTeacakes · 14/02/2013 20:49

I'm with IsThat

EggsMichelle · 14/02/2013 20:56

Hope all the unsettled babies are feeling better soon, good old calpol! F appears to have his first cold, very grizzly this evening, coughing and I can hear him tossing and turning in bed over the monitor. At least he is sleeping, he has slept most of the day too.

Seconds the first time I gave DS formula, he was 6wks and polished off 7oz Shock I make a little bit more than he usually drinks, he rarely finishes the bottle so I know he isn't just drinking it because its there, he stops when he's full.

EggsMichelle · 14/02/2013 20:57

And I never put DS down awake either, I cuddle him for atleast 10mins.

MaMaPo · 14/02/2013 20:59

Same here. I think c is too little to be able to put herself to sleep yet. We cuddle her until she drops off, then move her.

Thanks for the sympathy - C had a second dose and is calmer, but still full of wriggles, and not yet asleep. It's the first time I've felt quite anxious about her, even though she's completely fine and I know she will perk up soon. Fx that 3am (or even earlier) will be the magical time.

Chloe55 · 14/02/2013 21:00

I try to put her down asleep but she senses it and wakes up!
