Madame ds is offered 8 oz every three to four hours. It's when he seems to be hungry. Last week he was ill and took 3GS 4oz every two to three hours. He then went back to bigger feeds less often on his own. Hth

katkit1 · 15/01/2013 15:45

Glad I'm not jumping the gun re nursery place, important to get it right.

Dixiebell · 15/01/2013 15:50

Reassuring to hear about other people's dodgy-shaped tummies, thanks! Although slightly concerned that others being offered surgery Confused. Am I being fobbed off? I know what u mean about it feeling alien katkit, I've been avoiding touching my tummy too, it felt kind of numb. And in the early days when I lay in the bath I could see it moving weirdly, it literally looked like an alien in there. At one point I seriously wondered if there was another baby in there they'd missed! But guess it must be something to do with bowels bulging up into the gap? Confused Urgh. Also feels a bit weird if my jeans are too tight bcs I'm squeezing into my pre-preggo ones and when ds1 tries to "walk up you mummy" Hmm.

katkit1 · 15/01/2013 15:57

Dixie - when I'm in the bath I think there is another baby in there too - funny you think the same, it moves by itself - horrible. Maybe talk to your GP again re possible op. I still can't wear normal clothes, wearing pregnancy leggings, can't bear anything to touch or rub that area, I have everything hoiked up and over.

glendathegoodwitch · 15/01/2013 15:59

I've never had a decent fish supper south of Manchester - down south they leave the skin on the fish which is rank and the batter is v thin n crispy instead of thick and crispy/soft ahhhhhhhhh mouth watering!!!!

And pie chips n gravy nom nom!!!

Can you tell that I've not had any munchies for several days??

I'm soooo relieved I've found the right cm for us - 2 out of the 4 I've sen we're ok and friendly enough and another one who would have been perfect as she did school runs from dd1s school didn't seem at all child friendly and just listed a load of things she didn't do instead of what she did!!

Yay hubbies just booked me a neck and back massage!!!

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 15/01/2013 16:02

thanks horsey, will just be led by DS. With DD I didnt switch to formula until she was already into a very reliable routine, and she always, without fail, drained whatever she was offered. DS obviously just a grazer!

StuntNun · 15/01/2013 16:09

Those whose babies are into 3-6 month sleepsuits, what size tops and trousers are they in? J's bodysuits and sleepsuits are starting to get snug but the 0-3 trousers still fit fine.

I'm feeling under pressure about the next thread title. At the moment I'm leaning towards Nov 12 - TheSecondComing can kiss our collective arse Grin
Anyone second or oppose this?

I did think it would be from 8 weeks onwards, but thought they'd say book it from week commencing 21/1 when she'll be 8+3 rather than 28/1.

We don't get 6 week checks here, if you feel you need one you can book an appt but they found that when they sent appointments out, a lot of people just said they were fine so it was a bit of a wasted appointment. But the HV stresses to book one if you want one. I haven't because I feel fine.

Because of my lovely 3rd degree tear I have follow ups. I've got a bladder continence physio check up thingy in two weeks where they check my cavernous vagine and pelvic floor. Then at the end of feb I have an ultrasound appointment to look at my bum hole, how lovely, can't wait for that one. I also will get a consultant appointment in any further pregnancy to decide on whether I'd need a c-section or if vaginal birth will be fine.

We need to think about another one but the tear scares me.

On the subject of clothes sizes, I've put M in her first upto 3 months babygrow today seeing as everyone else is talking of them being too small. She seems to have plenty of room in. She's still wearing the upto one month normally although she's not that small Confused she was 10lb5 two weeks ago so she'll be 11.5 or something now

FatimaLovesBread · 15/01/2013 16:16

stunt I think MNHQ may find that inflammatory Grin
What about something developmental in the realms of 'are they walking/talking/eating Pom bears yet'

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 15/01/2013 16:24

stunt I love it but agree with Fatima.

There were some suggestions up thread which may also be in the realms of inflammatory too. But something like Nov 2012 - our unreasonable expectations continue - might that work?

capedcrusader25 · 15/01/2013 16:40

Detective O really suffers through the growth spurts. She's FF and is wild. She growls, scratches, hits the bottle, screams at it and chokes on it, eats every 2 hours even though she massively increases her intake (think on average 90ml to 150-210ml). Then when she's done she hibernates for about 2 days! She was so tiny length wise it does seem she's been on one massive growth spurt since the beginning Confused
I'm so angry about this person slagging the Nov mums off! I don't post here often, but read every day and use the FB group. It is such a supportive group, it makes me so mad to think someone is being so feckin rude Angry

capedcrusader25 · 15/01/2013 16:44

Also does she think everyone on here is a first time mum?! Some do have experience of babies. And how patronising to those of us who are on our first go. It seems we're not allowed to have a sense of humour can you tell I'm annoyed??! Grrrr.

StuntNun · 15/01/2013 16:49

She didn't actually say anything bad about us Caped, she said "...you might need to manage your expectations for a full nights kip quite a way backwards gang." We all just got on our collective high horse about it because we're a quiche was I the only one who thought quiche was an autocorrect for clique!

Toby had his jabs today. He was brave, I was not. He now weighs 13lbs 11oz at 9 weeks, little chunk!

Catbag · 15/01/2013 16:54

Stunt Absolutely seconded, ha ha. Was procrastinating instead of doing my intestacy assignment bored today and searched for that thread. Read the 15 pages or so to get to her comment. Some of it was pretty funny, but some of it was quite bitchy and the comment about our collective did kind of fall into that category. They seem to consider themselves to be Mumsnet Elders, lol, but just came across as bored and jaded tbh Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 15/01/2013 16:56

I think the best way to deal with the comment is to make next title sarcastic but not confrontational. Mentioning walking, talking, school uniforms will get the message across that we saw the comment but coukdn't give that much of a crap.

How about 'almost time to toilet train'

I did suggest time to wean upthread but I think we'd have people come on and lecture us. Which would be amusing once but might get very dull very quickly.

Catbag · 15/01/2013 16:56

madame Love it! That's the one!

PetiteRaleuse · 15/01/2013 16:57

I don't know where quiche came from. It was before my MN time.

Catbag · 15/01/2013 16:58

Stunt Is it not an autocorrect for clique?!

Rofl, thanks stunt. I do try and pay attention to every post Grin

BigPigLittlePig · 15/01/2013 17:07

Should I be concerned that, bar 2 30 minute naps, LO has been awake since 8am??? How can I make her sleep?! Am terrified I'm going to have a very overtired, very grumpy baby, very soon...

PetiteRaleuse · 15/01/2013 17:15

She might be planning a good long sleep for tonight bigpig

Sophiathesnowfairy · 15/01/2013 17:23

Yes bigpig she is looking forward to being all tucked up and sleeping by 7pm, not to awaken until 7am thank you.

TheDetective · 15/01/2013 17:24

I'll say it again, swaddle and swing, swaddle and swing! We've just had a 2 hour sleep from it. DP managed 30 mins of sleeping baby on him this morning.

It might not work for your baby, but it damn well works here, so i'll recommend it again!

I've decided to try 9-9 tonight. He has just fed at 4.45, and DP got up with him at 9 today. Seems as good as any time to try it! I am starting to want a couple of hours in the evening to oursevles myself. I will put him in the basket in our room after feeding him in our bed as usual. Then I will stay til he is settled, and put the baby monitor on.

I have realised that while 11-11 is great, it is actually after 1 before I am getting to sleep. I will try a dream feed at 11. I hope to be asleep before 1.

If it goes tits up, i'll cry we'll just go back to 11-11.

I am now off for a shower. And to shave my legs for the first time in 7 weeks Grin. Baby group is at 10 tomorrow. There is no chance we will make it if I don't wash my hair tonight. I should be able to get away with it tomorrow, but that is all. :( Still, it is better than this time last year when I was a daily hair washer - it took me 27 years to stop having to wash my hair every sodding day thanks to the grease. At one point it was so bad that if I was going out in the evening I would have to wash it again before going out! Ridiculous. Thank fuck the hormones have settled down! Just waiting for the spot hormones to piss off now. Grin
