Aw quite likes infacol. Now that he can move his tongue he licks it off his lips in a satisfied way.

Bit bored, DP has been asleep since 7pm (started work at 5am). I've watched 2 weeks notice and QI and now I want company!

HoneyMumandSon · 12/01/2013 22:13

We're all here up keep you company willyou and probably will be all night at this rate

HoneyMumandSon · 12/01/2013 22:15

Just told Dash that after dreaded trip to mil next weekend were starting bedtime routine and he raised his eyebrows... This does not bode well.

CODwidow · 12/01/2013 22:39

Keira seems to sleep more when she's having a growth spurt not feed which is odd. She very rarely cluster feeds either which I find strange tbh.

Well my thrush seems to be clearing but hers doesn't, we're now on our second lot of treatment. The doctor actually prescribed two forms of gel so I'm going to switch tomorrow I think and hope that works. So frustrating!

Had such a lovely day today seeing family for a birthday party then home for a chinese, now having a cup of tea with dd asleep on my chest before we hopefully get some sleep.

SpottyTeacakes · 12/01/2013 23:12

Glad you're feeling better COD. Hopefully the other gel will work for Kiera. Ds has only ever cluster fed twice I think.

Looks like we'll be doing 1 1/2 to 2 hourly tonight then....

Secondsop · 12/01/2013 23:16

We don't have the infacol pause but before we increased his formula we did get a pause after feeding where he obviously thought "well, I'll give it 10 minutes, maybe they're getting me some more", followed by a full on scream for more food.

Ladies i have BEEN OUT to a party in central London where there was alcohol and everything, and for which I put on MAKEUP. First proper trip out without little Z! (Husband and I have been out for 1 dinner together, plus a couple of brief supermarket trips, while my family babysat but this is my first trip out without him). I had a REALLY amazing time although my boobs are now feeling prickly with milk (and I'm not even exclusively breast feeding) and I am torn between feeling massively overexcited and feeling like I've got a limb missing.

MaMaPo · 12/01/2013 23:18

Clarella, I have wbeen wondering whether infacol does anything! I skip it sometimes but babies are so damned variable that who knows if anything changes.

Just got first gurgly 'laugh' - kind of happy cooing. Little tyke does it when she's only slept for a little while, cried, and finally been got up by a v tired MAmaPo. I can see the evolutionary advantage to it.

utopian99 · 12/01/2013 23:51

Hi all, major chatting, have been catching up... Lovely day at pils with proper roast. Dh told me i looked lovely which added to jeans happiness has made my day (sooo shallow i know, but it's nice to feel I'm not just a milk wagon..)

Question of the day for all you wise ladies (i have learned so much from this thread) what are a good brand of breast pads to use? Brought a mega box of boots own brand but they seem to lose their absorbancy/get saturated halfway through the day; is this normal? Someone mentioned breast shells a few days back - any recommended?

SpottyTeacakes · 12/01/2013 23:51

Ds is wide awake Sad

SpottyTeacakes · 12/01/2013 23:53

I think Avent do good breast shells? I don't leak much at all so can't help otherwise. Or you could try reusable ones. I think shells are probably a great idea if you leak lots as you can save the milk Smile

MaMaPo · 13/01/2013 00:00

Spotty - mine too, squirming madly with no signs of tiredness. :(

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 13/01/2013 00:24

Just a tip I find asda breast pads rubbish, bought 2 boxes and they aren't waterproof backed at all so you leak really quickly! I had mothercare ones before and found them ok. Going to buy new ones tomo (or might get shells, don't know).

Just woke up and found Ethan between us in bed Hmm no idea when he got there. God I need to catch up on some sleep. It feels like I'm putting him in danger.

FriendofDorothy · 13/01/2013 00:25

I bought the Boots breast pads too but I'm not keen. Will go back to using the Lasinoh ones. More expensive but I use fewer each day than the Boots ones.

FriendofDorothy · 13/01/2013 00:27

Edward has spent all evening feeding or crying. I am shattered and my husband is on a night shift so not here to help me Sad

Secondsop · 13/01/2013 00:41

Utopian I've got Lansinoh breast pads and they seem good but I barely leak so they haven't really been put to the test.

Mothercare have 3 for 2 on loads of stuff at the moment so you may be able to pick up them and the shells a bit cheaper. We popped in today and got some more muslins and some refill cassettes for the nappy bin (which has been a huge hit in this house).

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 13/01/2013 00:45

Seconds the cassetts are cheap on amazon. We've gone through 3 and hes only 5 weeks! Lol

Off to town tomorrow with a list of stuff to do as long as your arm. Then me and DH have to sit down and work out a budget, oh the joys! hate thinking about money atm

Secondsop · 13/01/2013 01:54

Stacey I think we're on our 4th cassette... We have 2 nappy bins, 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs, after we liked it so much when given one as a present that we had to get a second one.

MaMaPo · 13/01/2013 02:20

Still haven't been to sleep. Hate this.

WLmum · 13/01/2013 02:32

seconds that sounds amazing! Well done you! I'm a total scaredy cat and haven't been anywhere without dd and don't think I will for ages.

Oh dear mama - T was wide awake at 11 when I just couldn't cope any longer so put her in next to me with a boob, and I've just had 3 hours sleep! Amazing! Going to try to get her in basket after this feed. Hope you get some shut eye soon.

Stacks · 13/01/2013 02:34

Me too mama. Getting inpatient now.

Stacks · 13/01/2013 02:39

DS won't even really feed. Just 30 second power naps, 1 minute in the boob then spits if out, wriggles and cries.. and repeat. Since 5pm. I'm exhausted, DH is asking when I'll turn out the light as he's trying to sleep. Grumble.

MaMaPo · 13/01/2013 02:41

WL, I wish I could co sleep. Instead, I lie awake and cold in an awkward painful position with C latched on badly, and think 'why am I so rubbish at this? The entire rest of motherhood loves co sleeping!'

Stacks, NOW you're impatient? I'm afraid I got impatient 3 minutes after she wouldn't fall asleep after the last feed.

MaMaPo · 13/01/2013 02:44

My husband has been relegated to the sofa bed. He has a rubbish which keeps all o us awake. I have still heard a couple of bouts of snoring, though, so he's more rested than I am.

Stacks it's so exhausting. C has been in her basket fighting madly against sleep and trying to take her dummy. For hours.
