I went with Gary's suggestion, as it was quite awesome and indeed factual!

And I had to open the wine to deglaze the pan to make gravy (chicken stock wouldn't have been as good - ahem) so thought it would seem churlish not to pour myself a little glass... !

QueenofClean · 10/02/2013 14:51

Mopsy dinner sounds lovely.

Jiggle hope you get lots of work done in the peace Smile

DH surprised me with a birthday lunch out and my parents & inlaws were there & he sorted a lovely birthday cake too.

Now home ready for the rugby Grin

mopsytop · 10/02/2013 15:16

Yeah come on the boys in green!

We eat biscuets in the kitchen 2 hours ago. It must of got in living room as Hope has hives on her feet. I have given her the meds but I feel like I will never get this right.
She wants what we eat and is too young to understand she cant. Its a nightmear trying to stop Aaron from taking food in livingroom I havent checked :(

I feel so sad for her :(

I have booked the mmr jab at dr with the nurse but I will take the meds and give it after the jab but im terrified she will have a bad reaction. If Hope goes in to shock the nurse will call 999 but that in its slef is not very reassuring Hmm

Everyone here is ill and I cant cope with it anymore. I just want it to be summer now! Im feed up of the runny noise, the coughing, the lack of sleep and yhe high temps. Im feed up of the crap weather so we cant go to the park or out for a walk or cut the grass. Im feed up of Aaron's 4ness.

Hope is teething and has nappy rash. Air has 7 spots on his tummy that may be chicken poxs or just a viral rash. They have not scabed over yet so hoping its just a viral thing.

I just want some sleep and to get my voice back, I sound like I smoke 40 aday its embarassing Blush
Everyone keeps asking me am I ok and I have to say yes im just getting over the flu, then they take a step back lol

feel like im swimming agenst the tide and getting no where :(

SevenReasonsToSmile · 10/02/2013 18:54

((Hug)) for air. You're a great mum doing a fab job, sorry to hear you're finding it so tough at the moment. We've been working on a gradual introduction to lactose which seems to be working, but before we tried I agree it was awful when she wanted things others were eating but couldn't have. And that was only because it gives her a bad tummy ache, I can't imagine how difficult it must be knowing she could have a severe reaction from a small trace of something. And I know what you mean about the 4ness, we never had the 'terrible 2's' but some days DS really tests my patience at the moment!

mopsy lunch sounds amazing.

faffin lovely to hear that DD is doing well, is this the end of her bowel troubles and surgery now?

Hope the cleaning went well aethel and northern

The woman I mentioned on my ante-natal thread had her baby last night, 2lb 3oz at 27 weeks. It suddenly seems a lot more real and I've realised how unprepared we are given that theres a small chance that realistically she could potentially be here at any point.

I've dug out a load of DS old clothes to eBay as DC3 is definitely female and will be our last. First box I grabbed is mostly 12-18/18-24 months. I'll be ebaying it tonight, I don't know how everyone feels about 2nd hand but if anyone is interested let me know and I'll post a link. It's mostly next and all in either very good or excellent condition.

jigglebum · 10/02/2013 19:03

seven wow 2lbs 3oz - how scarily small is that. That must have been such a shock for them, I hope the baby is ok.

OiMissus · 10/02/2013 19:19

Bleurgh!
The hen night was ok. We survived it. The party bus was good fun. Leeds - well, we only went into 2 rough places, so I didn't really see it. There are very few places that will accept 25 women on a hen do in fancy dress.
We had fun, some people got a little too drunk and so there were dramas and getting chucked out by bouncer incidents, but we survived.
We got back at 2, just before the stags, and stayed up til 6am. Ouch !
I didn't do very well at the not-drinking thing. I took bottles of M&S Buck's Fizz with me. I thought with the fresh orange and lower alcohol volume, I 'd be ok. I took it easy, had lots of gaps (dancing) with no drink at all, but it was a long night.
We picked Ali up from the GPs at 1. Yawn. He stayed up until 9:45pm, and then woke up at midnight and wanted to play until gone 3.Blush Whoops!
He's just gone to sleep now. I'm going to try and stay up a little longer.
If I find a decent pic if me in my fancy dress get up, I'll post it. I thought I looked ok... The photos are cruel though!
My brain isn't working. Sorry. Good luck with all the "things". Confused

EasilyBored · 10/02/2013 19:53

Seven Wow that is little, hope the baby is OK.

Oi I'm sure you looked fab! Hope your brain starts to work again soon!

Air I'm sorry you're having such a rough go of it at the minute. Hope you feel better soon, and fingers crossed it's not pox.

DS also has a viral rash, which my mum casually mentioned might be a side affect of the MMR he had about 10 days ago. He's got a back tooth coming through I think, and he fell asleep on my lap earlier while I massaged his gum really hard. He has got mega nappy rash at the minute too, which I'm sudacreming to death, but I think tomorrow will need to be a bare bum day. I'm dying of a cough (which resulted in me spewing all over the living room floor, kitchen floor, kitchen door and stair gate earlier. Not classy.) so I'll be doing some work (BLURGH!!) and then going to bed with a thermos of hot water.

So ready for warmer weather!

thekatsatonthematt · 10/02/2013 20:13

Air You're doing great, it will get better. Hang in there.

Seven Wow, that is tiny. I remember getting to 24 weeks and feeling like it was a massive milestone with DS, but you don't really think about what if do you?

Oi Sounds like you escaped relatively unscathed Wink

Easily Sounds grim. Hope your cough clears up soon, and that DS generally gets better!

We've still got a very clingy DS. We got a little bit cocky at tea time and tried to give him some pasta which he was excited about but brought straight back up, so back to toast and water for another 24 hours. I've never seen him this quiet, even as a newborn Sad

Aethelfleda · 10/02/2013 20:44

Evening all... Enjoyed the weekend, some key bits of sorting got done in hopeful prep for the move, and I actually got some hoovering done. DS spent most of today turning around and around while giggling madly thanks to some tuition from the DDs and his cousins who were visiting.
Last week of school before half term, and hopefully this week we will finally exchange!

((((hug))) air, hope things get better soon

And get well vibes to poorly/puking/tired out babies (BTW seven, 2 lb 3 is a pretty good weight for a 27-weeker, hope the LO is OK in special care and his journey there is smooth).

raaboonah · 10/02/2013 20:54

seven my DS1 was 2lb when he was born at 31 weeks (he was the size of a 26 week old baby). He is a very lovely though rather annoying at times 3 year old now who is absolutely fine despite a rather longer than expected stay ay the hospital's pleasure. Happy to pm your pal on tother thread if i can help on any way. It's totally hideous so Mich love to her.

raaboonah · 10/02/2013 20:55

Mich? Who the fuck is Mich?

*clearly I meant much

NorthernChinchilla · 10/02/2013 20:58

I'm feeling bleurgh too Oi, we had great fun at the wedding, danced my little legs off. There was only one other person there from work, and I was just cheerful drunk...though poor DP was up-chucking. It was our first 'night out' in nearly two years though, and the last thing we were at where we were drinking was DP's Dad's 70th on April 1st 2011!

So been feeling a little rough today, but we just had a day of crap parenting (lots of cuddles, crisps and biscuits, can't hurt for one day Blush) and then went round to my old boss' house as he's recovering from a heart attack. We got about 90% of the house sorting done yesterday, and gave the kitchen a good spring clean as well- just need to do some dusting really to finish off....bar the fact that we've still got to paint the hall and stairs!

Get well soon to the ill LOs, sounds like we're going through another of our (feels like weekly) cycles of illness!

Faffin · 10/02/2013 21:04

((Hugs)) for air, easily,Kat and anyone else suffering through snot, vomit or otherwise

seven yes, other than a check up with the surgeon in July this should be the last thing DD needs Grin

OiMissus · 10/02/2013 21:50

Get well vibes being strewn across the thread, with a heady mix of hugs and drugs. (Of the get well variety)
Easily - your cough sounds terrible.Hmm
I have put some photos on farce-book, they are not great, I clearly looked Mich better in real life! Wink

QueenofClean · 11/02/2013 06:21

Hope everyone feels better soon.

Oi just out of curiosity have you poas yet? If not when are you due too?

OiMissus · 11/02/2013 07:56

No, don't know when I'm due, on a 28 day cycle, probably would be due next week. But my cycle is not very cyclic!
I'll wait a couple of weeks. Not sure if I'm feeling pg though...

mopsytop · 11/02/2013 07:59

ugh Terrible night. I've some sort of tummy bug and minim was up crying half the night. No idea why as she doesn't seem to be ill. Ended up having to take her into the bed with us. Ages and ages since we did that. Not a v restful night. So tired now on top of feeling really awful. Today is going to be hard...

thekatsatonthematt · 11/02/2013 11:54

Mopsy hope it's not too bad a day.

I now have the sickness. Seb is a bit better, chatting to him self but still wants cuddles and def does not like watching Mummy vomit....

jigglebum · 11/02/2013 11:58

Feeling shite here too. Cold is dragging on and giving me headaches. Up twice with Freya last night so that is 2 weeks of getting up every night with one or other of them. Freya clearly isnt right but can't work out what is wrong. She is 10 days post mmr jab so could be that.

Figgygal · 11/02/2013 12:05

Greetings Ladies

Sorry have dropped off the thread last few days still been feeling unwell 4 hourly cold and flu tablets to combat my barry white voice. The weekend was a total bust between my throat and Danny?s bum and then MIL unwell yesterday when she was supposed to have him so we could go see Life of Pi and so lost the tickets we had booked and instead ventured out in the rain to the bright lights of the local tesco megastore to buy even more toy crates. The 6 time a day teething poos seem to have stopped thank god as the smell was just unworldly and liberal application of every type of nappy cream we had in the house seems to have held off nappy rash. The CM has her own 3 kids this week at home due to half term and so she has 5 kids today (9,5,4 and 2 under 2) i don?t know how they do it they off to softplay and tomorrow DS is going to the cinema with them (she is one brave woman!!).

New trick DS demonstrated last night was to take my hand, walk me to his highchair and hold his arms up to be put in it, this was at 6pm so i figured from that it was dinner time the kid is just AMAZING although he then screamed at me as obviously dinner wasnt ready.

Aethelfleda · 11/02/2013 12:37
CheungFun · 11/02/2013 12:54

Hi everyone,

We've had lots of teething related grumpiness, interrupted sleep and clinginess for the last two weeks, but no bloody teeth to show for it! Luckily DS seems to be back to his normal happy self and he has been walking much more confidently in the last few days which is very sweet as he's very pleased with himself and it shows :)

I think DS is starting to settle in better at nursery, it is a long day for him as I work from 9-5.30, but I'm hoping once he gets completely settled in he will enjoy it more and as he gets older make friends.

Work was all going well until last week, when the managers decided that I'm going to cover one of the girls when she goes on maternity leave (she actually took over my account when I went on maternity leave). It's a compliment in some ways as the client has asked for me back, and the managers don't want anyone else to touch the account as there have been some issues, but, it's a full time job! I'm not being negative, but it's not an account I can manage whilst working 3 days a week....also, if they want me doing a full time account...where are my full time wages? ;)

Anyway, sorry to hear so many of you are ill, sending get well wishes!

OiMissus · 11/02/2013 14:00

All the booze on Saturday, plus the mcdonalds hangover cure on Sunday meant that even though I pole-danced down the M62 and back on the party bus i have put on 3lbs Shock.
I have two of my team over here this week from the US and Germany, I'm giving them some training on the website. This means that I won't see my BOi today (beyond dropping him at my mum's this morning), as I'll take them to dinner from work. And unless I can convince them that Yo Sushi is the way forward, I may be over-doing the WW points, for yet another day.

NorthernChinchilla · 11/02/2013 19:22

Y'know, I wonder what the point of a monitor is when the parent who's turn it is for night duty snores sleeps through it Hmm
Tonight DP is in with DS so I can get a proper night, as I've done three on the trot!

So sorry to hear of all the illness again.. glad your DS is a bit better Kat, as he sounded really under the weather, and how grim you've got it now too!

Would you post just one pic, time limited on here Oi, as I'm not on Farcebook and would looooooove to see the outfit!

Amazingly, I had a not-dreadful day at work, but when you're commenting on the rare un manic days it's a sign! I am booking off Friday afternoon, and DP has the day off- he's going to come into town where I work with DS and we'll all have a late, family Valentine meal out- can't wait Smile
