I went with Gary's suggestion, as it was quite awesome and indeed factual!

Aren't they soooper sweet when they are unconscious asleep? Wink
Xiao - Envy of the night out. -and I second what the others say about planning number 2. Just go for it and see what fate has in store.
Bee - I measured 4cm too big with my first measurement. Every measurement after I measured between 2 and 3 cm too big. And was sent for more scans each time (until the end). They thought big baby, not a lot of water. However towards the end, I had a lot of swelling at the bottom of the bump which was water. And when my waters broke, I'm sure that I was carrying my weight in water (even though the bump didn't get much smaller!), it just kept on gushing for 2 hours before I could pad myself up with a bath towel to get in the car. But, BOi was and is perfect in every way, so I hope that your friend and her baby are fine too.
BOi had his first settling in session with the cm today (mum took him). He stayed close to mum, but seemed to quite like it. Apparently a 2 yr old girl pronounced BOi to be her boyfriend as he walked through the door. I'm not sure how I feel about romances at this tender age...
(Still not checked how many squillions I have won.)

CheungFun · 25/01/2013 02:21

Agh can't sleep as DS woke me up with a little cry and now I'm wide awake and he's fast asleep!

He was really good at the cm today and just cried when I dropped him off, but happy all day and tired but happy when I picked him up.

Another settling in session at nursery at 9am so fingers crossed it's better than last time.

Started back at work yesterday and it was lovely to see everyone again, I'll be doing different accounts, but it will be nice to do something different and I'll be learning the other accounts on my team so that I can step in and help out when needed.

Xiao I agree with the others, do what works for you and things will muddle along without you at work one way or another. Plus your colleague may even end up not wanting to come back to work at all after maternity leave!

Oi good to know BOi is a hit with the ladies already haha :) It's his hair, he looks suave and sophisticated!

OiMissus · 25/01/2013 08:14

Right. I'll go and check on my bank account to see how the squillions stack up and I'kll be right back...

OiMissus · 25/01/2013 08:38

Darn. There's nothing been paid in by the national lottery, which means that it wasn't over a tenner. So 3.60 or 6.40 it is then. Darn it!
Good luck with settling in session number 2 Cheung. I'm going off Boi's nursery rapidly. That's what happens when you fall out of love, or find something better, isn't it? Suddenly, everything you have now begins to grate. I just didn't want to leave him there this morning. Which is silly. They all really like him (must be his suavity and sophistication!?), I mean, who wouldn't?
I sent him off today in trousers that are too short (I gave dad the clothes to get him dressed as I packed up the car), I only noticed when I got to nursery that his socks were far more visible than sophistication allows. But that's OK, he has some lovely jeans and a new Tommy Hilfiger long sleeved polo shirt to change into for the CM. BOi is always better dressed than his parents.
Busy weekend ahead. This pm, we have the CM, then the supermarche, then we're picking up a carpet cleaner from HSS, and then picking up DH from work. Tomorrow, we're dropping DH off at his house to start cleaning, me and the BOi are then going shopping for a wedding present and cards, and some trousers and a hat (I think I want to wear a hat at the wedding in Feb - found one on ebay for £5, but the lady wouldn't post it. Silly mare.) Then we're helping with the cleaning and curtain sorting, and meeting a couple of estate agents. Then going to a wedding reception in the evening - so we have friends coming over to look after BOi.
Sunday will be more cleaning, I guess.
What you all up to?

OiMissus · 25/01/2013 08:40

"are", there should've been an "are" there. I write as I speak. Lazy northern 'arris that I am.

SevenReasonsToSmile · 25/01/2013 09:08

We're going out for dinner for a friends birthday tomorrow night. Will be strange as another friend who's going is also pregnant and has the same due date as me.

OiMissus · 25/01/2013 20:36

Slight revision to the plans: cm - yes (great), food shopping - yes, home for BOi's dinner, and by the time the fromage frais was gone, we were snowed in.
So no HSS, DH struggled to get home, ...and I doubt we'll get out tomorrow. No cleaning, shopping, or wedding reception. Tis really coming down!

NorthernChinchilla · 25/01/2013 22:49

Oh no Oi, bummer about the snow.
Mind you, I can't believe that two of us booked a carpet cleaner the same weekend... and whilst I never got approached by Richard Ashcroft I certainly used to spend my weekends having fun in clubs Grin Aaaaaarrrrrrrrghhhh! Getting old!

We are carpet cleaning, painting, and the usual washing/shopping/soup making/sci-fi watching...and I think we may have a child to pay attention to in all of that.....!

CheungFun · 26/01/2013 08:29

I'm having a lie in, but wide awake!! The plan is to get my hair cut later (yeay, first time since beginning of June!), pop into town for a few bits, massive food shop (just been paid) and then collapse on the settee!

Yesterday's settling in session went much better, tears as I left, but no tears when I picked him up although he still wasn't 100% I'm not so worried about next week when I'm at work for 3 days!

The pavements were like an ice rink yesterday and after I'd dropped off DS I managed to fall over whilst trying to catch a bus and fell on my hip and elbow...still sore :( and the bus just drove off. The next bus stopped and opened it's doors and I actually managed to fall again - this time on my hands and knees which didn't hurt quite so much! The worst thing was that I tried to make a joke of it to the driver and he was really grumpy and just glared at me
and didn't say a single word at all

LittleMissFantabulous · 26/01/2013 14:02

Bus drivers can be utter arises Cheung :(

Twanged something in my back. 'tis painful >_<

Killing time at the library today. Octoboy currently demolishing a sandwich, then it will be time to demolish the children's section:o

Yaaaawwwwnnnn...

Hope the weekend is going well and those with snow are not too stuck. (it's raining here and the snowman has finally melted)

LittleMissFantabulous · 26/01/2013 22:35

Been a quiet one. Did emergency babysitting lat night. Glad to be in my own bed tonight, even if I'll be awake most of the night >_<

Night!

Evening, we actively started TTC#3 this morning Wink been out for evening and had a few cheeky wines Grin now home and watching tonight's take me out then sleep! Grin

Night all.

NorthernChinchilla · 27/01/2013 09:58

We cleaned the carpet for Britain yesterday- as 100+ years of accumulated muck had fallen on to ivory carpet, you can imagine the fun. It's just about OK now, although I was down on my hands and knees scrubbing with some evil spot cleaner (and my throat is sore!) as well as using the hired jobby.

There's just one patch under the radiator that will need re-doing, and then today we're doing hall and stairs so that DP can paint tomorrow.

To be fair to all of us, I think we're managing well with the utter chaos of upstairs being out of action!

Today I shall also cook- did up some chicken stock in the week, so will do my chick and veg soup; a carrot, lemon and lentil soup I found in the paper; and am going to do us this fab-looking receipe from yesterday's paper, it's like a plain lasagne but you use bread not pasta Grin!

Yay on the action Queenie!

How are you feeling know Cheung, that sounds horrible. I'm with LMF, as a bus user myself you do get some real troglodytes driving them.

QueenofClean · 27/01/2013 10:11

Northern - Well done on the cleaning front.

Woke up this morning with major sinus pressure and razor blades down my throat :( not a hangover only had 3 glasses of wine which went down well with a Biryiani. So no more BD tonight :(

Hope everyone else has a good Sunday.

OiMissus · 27/01/2013 18:44

The snow is going!
It had cleared enough for me to declare a trip to the Trafford centre!
Hurrah!

LittleMissFantabulous · 27/01/2013 18:45

Snow an ice has all gone:o

OP posts:
CheungFun · 28/01/2013 09:06

Thank goodness - no more snow and ice here, I'm hoping I can stay on my feet now :o Just have a big bruise on my leg and elbow now, DH is not impressed that I keep asking if my bruise has changed colour!

We have two bus companies locally, the big one that I have to use to get to work is the one with the grumpy drivers, the little company is wonderful, I have nothing but praise for their drivers! Still I really must get driving!

DS appears to have dropped his morning nap :(

DS is also still teething, I don't know if I'm imagining it, but his gums feel hot! Bonjela gel today methinks!

I'm having a big tidy and clean today, then taking DS to the library after his nap. Tomorrow is work and DS's first full day at nursery....eek!

BJR · 28/01/2013 11:42

Hi all, took a break from mn for a while so lots for me to catch up on.

Things are up and down here but mostly pottering along. DS is doing great at home but still struggling at nursery. Work is not wonderful so am considering giving it up and being a sahm.

On the more positive side of it, things with DP are great. He has gradually been making changes and now does his share of stuff at home instead of thinking that his day finishes when he gets in from work. it's done wonders for our relationship and for his with DS.

Have a day off work today and DS is at nursery. under strict instructions from DP to relax Smile

hope everyone is well. off to catch up on thread!

Faffin · 28/01/2013 12:09

Welcome back bjr. That's great news about you and DP, really pleased to hear that. Shame about work and nursery though. Make sure you do relax today. It's rare to get an opportunity to do so, make the most of it!

cheung I hope the bruises heal soon and that work/nursery go well tomorrow

LittleMissFantabulous · 28/01/2013 13:09

I've buggered my back. Can't bend without squealing like a piglet:( Painkillers aren't doing much, a d my wheat bag was piddled on by a cat >_<

Might need another coffee!

Aethelfleda · 28/01/2013 17:01

Hita BJR, good to see you and great news about DP!

I....will...not..get....stressed...about.....house....

GaryBuseysTeeth · 28/01/2013 17:14

Hope a good weekend was had by all?

LMF, hope the drugs do work.
DS shoved his finger somewhere odd in my neck today (Vulcan nerve pinch!) & has done something to it because I can't turn right without mucho pain.

for TTC Queenie, I take it you & DH sorted out all the issues you were having? You still set for SAHM-ing?
Hope your throat feels better soon.

BJR, so glad things are good between you & DP!

Aethel, good luck not getting stressed, hope it's all sorted asap.

Cheung, hope you've had a good day!

Oi, hope you had a successful day shopping at the Trafford Centre?

A question for you all..how do you cut their toe/finger nails without pinning them down?
I used to do DS's in the car whilst he slept, but now he won't sleep anywhere but cot!

BeeMyBaby · 28/01/2013 17:36

Thanks for the info re measuring big, she's been told she needs yet more scans on the fluid.

gary with dd1 I used to put on a cartoon she really enjoyed to cut her nails, dd2 doesn't like tv so I usually just have to sing or make a funny noise and do as many nails as I can, then try again a bit later.

Dd2 was teething all weekend, waking up hourly on Friday and sat night (at least we cosleep) and refusing to nap. So far she's got 14 teeth so we are waiting on the bottom canines then hopefully we won't get the final molars till she's 2 as the never ending teething feels ridiculous at the moment.

LittleMissFantabulous · 28/01/2013 17:59

I have drugs! I fear I may have to take a boob hiatus though as I'm not sure tramadol and diazepam are good for babies >_<

Happy Monday folks!
