I went with Gary's suggestion, as it was quite awesome and indeed factual!

:o

Onwards?

CheungFun, LOL at "exercise free day"

(or should that be "loll"?)

Off to return unwanted online shopping and make an ebay pile, while DD is still asleep! She had 2.5 hours yesterday lunhtime then another 30 mins in the pram at 5ish

FestiveFiggy · 10/01/2013 12:58

MissRee cant believe you have WC that is scary i assume you are off work still? Chug those drugs and feel better soon.

oi I also feel like am boring the pants off of people on FB with pics about LO but as my friends and family including my mum are 500 miles away and dont see him from one month to the next i cant help myself as they want to see him grow up. As for Twitter i just dont get it so have found myself just following celebs it seems to be like a modern fan club where you can interact with them directly.

Leaving work at 4 today as need to get bus home, my car is still in garage having now failed its mot and not looking forward to the £600 bill when i pick it up :-(

MissRee · 10/01/2013 13:22

No, I'm back at work Figgy Hmm I've managed to drag myself in but the walk to/from coach is taking twice as long whilst I keep stopping to cough/catch my breath/throw up! I feel horrendous but they're really hot on sickness at the moment (any excuse to make someone redundant) so I don't want to take any more time off.

BeeMyBaby · 10/01/2013 13:58

No stomach muscles here either, but last time I had any I was 15 and about 2 stone lighter so no shock to me there. I was thoroughly upset the other day when watching embarrassing fat bodies when I found out I not only need worry about general waist circumference, bmi, but also waist/hip ratio for which I am unhealthy, and as far as I can tell I'd have to lose a lot of weight to be 'healthy' due to my apparent boy hips.

I have been very bored recently at home with the DDs so have started DD2 trying the toilet around bath times, had quite a few wee's but last night she managed a poop. I was pleased and she was pleased and there was no nappy thrashing fight to the death to be seen. Ahh, bliss.

pluCaChange · 10/01/2013 14:18

That's terrible presenteeism pressure, MissRee!

Good work on the pot, miniBee!

Muffinpig · 10/01/2013 14:31

DD is always pretending to be on the phone! Its not as if I speak on the phone very much either so not sure why she is so obsessed?!

I think I mentioned I had very bad split stomach muscles when DD was born and only got the go ahead a couple of weeks ago to do any exercise other than very controlled specific pilates/physio movements. Not done anything yet and have so little motivation. Still have 5lbs to lose to get to pre-pregnancy weight but becuase its not a huge amount its hard to really put any effort in...

AnAirOfHope · 10/01/2013 14:55

Plu i will ask dh if he can join union - if they have one. Thanks for the idea :)

Hope likes being on the phone alot too :)

This year i will;

Sort finances
Grow veg in our garden in pots with Air's help
Go on camping holiday
Get a job in november

Air wants an Avenager birthday and wants to invite all his friends. The question is do we have a fancy dress party or not? It will be at a softplay centre and i was going to say the kids could dress up if the want!
Air wants to go as Ironman lol

MissRee · 10/01/2013 14:56

Indeed Plu Hmm

I'm just praying that this forecasted snow comes through next week so the coaches/trains aren't running and I can't actually get to work!

AnAirOfHope · 10/01/2013 15:00

Get well soon MissRee xx

SevenReasonsToSmile · 10/01/2013 15:28

Oh no missree. MIL still talks about SIL having whooping cough as a little girl, and how she just to cough until she passed out, at which point she'd be pleased because then at least the coughing stops, sounds horrific :(

Playgroup went well, much better than it used to be.

Well done on the great start to the weight loss oi!

OiMissus · 10/01/2013 15:40

Air when you've sorted your finances, please come and do mine!
MissRee - yikes at the whooping cough. Jeebers, no wonder you feel awful.
The bushmen have gone. they've done a fairly good job. The trees are cut back, the bush is shorter, the view is much better. But there are some confused robins in there, nesting, with eggs, apparently. So he has left that section of bushage so they won't be disturbed. If I wait a couple of months, he can come back and tidy up.
I'd better sort out some food, and maybe see if I can leave some cotton wool around if the snow really is coming next week. Poor little birdies.
As for planking, we used to plank with our elbows on the ground, and our toes on a step, then step of the step one foot at a time, then back on, to music, for fun, and then hold it for an age at the end of the track. I've just tried holding a standard plank (!) for 1 minute and just about made it!
Sympathies for the car figgy. That's tough.

GaryBuseysTeeth · 10/01/2013 15:41

MissRee, hope you're better soon.
Properly cold here, might have to put the heating on again, so expecting snow.
DH is storing his bike for winter now, and hopefully they'll pull the bikes in at work so I only have to worry about him on foot/in a car/van.

Air, would Air be alright if other boys came dressed up as Iron Man? I'd say yes for the costumes...although with only one female Avenger in the movie, think there will be loads of girls running about in black!

Figgy, ouch, £600 is nasty.

Cheung, with you on the christmas food, we still have so much to eat. I'm awkward to buy for, but like chocolate...so I always get so much chocolate!

Plu, tis I AWCH!

OiMissus · 10/01/2013 15:47

THanks seven.
Air you have reminded me. I have to find a fancy dress costume, for a hen night, in Blackpool, on the 11th Feb.
If you were to ask me what my ultimate nightmare night out would be, it would be fancy dress, hen night, Blackpool. And interestingly, they have booked a party bus to take us there and back. The party bus says that it provides champagne (I bet it's bloody Lambrini), and a pole dancing bar. that'll be nice.
Nightmare.
Did you see the programme "999 whats your emergency", about the calls to the emergency services? It was shot in Blackpool. It is hell on earth, minus the class, self-respect and morality.

AnAirOfHope · 10/01/2013 16:03

Oi im better at accountancy and economics than i am at cleaning my house Blush

Fancy dress is fab. I dont think Air would mind if their was other Ironmen but im worried about what the girls would wear and if parents wanted to spend money on outfits and if the kids could run round in the outfits at softplay.

I think the children would like it,right?

AnAirOfHope · 10/01/2013 16:11

I got married at the Wilderness lodge in Disneyworld and my MIL staied on International Drive. I asked her what she tought of Disneyworld her replay "Its like a over priced Blackpool. I will not becoming here again" lol

AnAirOfHope · 10/01/2013 16:15

Oi it could be worse it could be Rhyl but i agree i dont think i would go it sounds like a nightmare.

But for my hen party i went paintballing and got covered in mud and brusies and not a drop of alcohol the whole weekend.

MissRee · 10/01/2013 16:16

I've come over a bit dizzy a few times Seven but managed to not actually pass out yet! Lots of puking phlegm though - lovely!

I love that you had to get men in to trim your bush Oi and that they found nesting birds!

That hen night sounds like my idea of hell too! I am rather partial to a spot of fancy dress though.

I have a chocolate brownie... the illness will be forgotten for about ten minutes!

AnAirOfHope · 10/01/2013 16:22

I have just save £267 pa with one phone call to eon Grin

MissRee · 10/01/2013 16:29

Ha! Speaking of their hotness on sickness... One of the other secretaries has just been pulled up on her 10 days absent over the last 12 months! I had 6 days just before Christmas alone and I've only been back from maternity leave 6 months...

SparklyandHappyMe2013 · 10/01/2013 18:48

Figgy that's a lot of pennies.

Air: We are already with Eon doubt we'd get a saving tho! So well done

Oi that sounds like my idea of hell. I loved my hen. Day in the west end and Turkish dinner!

Sky has been rather demanding again at nursery apparently screamed solidly for 45mins as her key worker was with another child & Sky wanted all her attention.....oh well. She is asleep now as come home crying due to be tired.

Darcie was good upto the point she had to jump In the bath. However, has calmed down, had a bath and is now in bed reading a book.

Sky has an appt with GP about testing for further allergies tomorrow.

Shattered. Night all.

GaryBuseysTeeth · 10/01/2013 19:20

Air, you got married in Disneyworld?! Envy
I hated getting married/wedding stuff (would've been happy getting married in the morning then going to work in the afternoon, DH said no) so Disneyworld would've been my idea of heaven!
I think optional fancy dress is a good idea.
Well done on the money saving, DH is phoning sky this weekend to threaten to leave, although he never would he luff his tv.

Oi, does it have to be a 'sexy' fancy dress?

I'm making pancakes atm (well just resting the batter) as I've got a massive hankering for them.

Aethelfleda · 10/01/2013 19:30

Oh no misree, so glad your GP was on the ball and dished out drugs for you. Whooping cough is the pits. Maybe point out to work that it's still catching until you've been on antibiotics for 5 days? So some time off now would stop your colleagues getting it...(and give you a break)...

Good plans for the year air. i'll join you with growing stuff in pots as our proposed new garden is leetle. My plans are lose the baby weight and move house successfully /settle the children in our new place. Can't get beyond that at the moment as there's so much to do. And at plu, I'd forgotten about my cunning plan to paint the road a neutral colour...the stain has just about faded now honest

Aethelfleda · 10/01/2013 19:31

Hee hee gary, I've now got visions of oi running around Blackpool in a Scooby Doo costume while all the other hens are in fishnets and miniskirts....

LittleMissFantabulous · 10/01/2013 19:54

My plan is not to drop the mental ball, go through as many hair colours as I like (currently green) and to get to nodnoL for a few days with the kids and go see the disaurs and such:)

Oh bugger DS has always been good at drinking out of everything but have never given him milk in anything except a tommee tippee bottle so of course now he's 1 thought was time to do away with bottles but he's having none of it. I really didn't expect this have tried him with 2 of his normal water beakers with soft spouts but I guess he tries to drink his milk in same way as with bottle then chokes a little then pushes it away crying if we then put it in his normal bottle he drinks it. So ladies I need beaker or cup recommendations!!
