Only my mum and i ask enough of her already. I need to get the house in order to impose order on my life iyswim, it's a part of my anxiety/depression that stays even when the other symptoms have vanished. Quite handy Wink I'll calm down in a day or two.

R just likes fast movement!

Well, we made it through the day. And more wees in the potty (6) than on the floor (2 on lounge carpet, one on rug) and only 4 pairs of pants used. Anthony has survived the day too, although he had to be left crying a couple of times.

Pidj- get some rest.

HoneyMumandSon · 04/01/2013 19:07

Well done barbeasty. My friend made the mistake of offering chocolate buttons as rewards for my godson weeing in the potty. However he cottoned on and started refusing his dinner then saying he needed a wee so he got chocolate!

SpottyTeacakes · 04/01/2013 19:09

Peony absolutely fine to use the pram indoors maybe not in her snowsuit though so just layer her with blankets if you think you'd like her to stay asleep once home? Ds likes the sling even if we're just sitting. I might have to walk around a tiny bit to get him settled to start with but otherwise he loves it Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 04/01/2013 19:10

Dd seems nowhere near ready for potty training Sad

Secondsop · 04/01/2013 19:12

honey a friend gave a chocolate as a treat for her daughter each time she used the potty. But when the little girl stayed with my sister overnight, she told my sister that she got THREE chocolates each time!

yuletopian99 · 04/01/2013 19:40

Well we made it into town and Oz is now a 'real' (registered) baby! Sent off for piddling child benefit too. Am armed with more certificates for his passport; assume you can't put them on an adult passport as when we were little? Is there any other official stuff i should do?

pidj hope you get a chance to relax; know what you mean about imposing order on house/life for feeling better prepared mentally though..

theblushingpeony · 04/01/2013 20:02

honey I feel your pain! We've started giving DD infacol but not sure yet if it's working...

pidj I'm the same with cleaning, I think having a clean house helps me to stay sane as I feel more in control. My mum cleaned the house for christmas but sadly she's gone home now (she lives in a different country).

thanks spotty - I'll definitely need to try a sling with DD! Is Moby wrap the most popular one?

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 04/01/2013 20:06

yule I wouldn't bother with a passport unless you're planning a holiday in the next 6 mo as they cost £50 and only last 5 yrs.

peony it got better around 6 months when he finally got prescription formula milk. Gaviscon was rubbish and did nothing but once he had formula that didn't make his stomach hurt and mostly stayed in (only posseting not bringing up whole milk feeds) he was a lot better. He didn't sleep through the night until he was 18 months but from 6 months the constant screaming stopped. And my sanity returned.

SpottyTeacakes · 04/01/2013 20:06

Pidj is the sling expert Grin a few of us have got the close caboo which I like.

Ds is cluster feeding tonight Sad it's only the second or third time he's done it to this extent- on and off for over four hours do far, it doesn't even feel/sound like he's drinking Confused

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 04/01/2013 20:13

I think my sling is a 'wrap' it's a homemade (well WAHM) one a friend gave me, literally a couple of metres of fabric. I researched online how to put it on, it seems to work for us.

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 04/01/2013 20:44

I can relax while R sleeps

He's slept for 1/2 an hour since 5:30 this morning

I use an ergo carrier with a newborn insert, I used it for DS until last month (he's 27 months), a great carrier as my DS was huge, no back problems.

brooke89 · 04/01/2013 22:40

With you on the cleaning, I can't stand having a messy house and haven't got the time to clean anymore so going to have to get used to it!

It's my birthday tomorrow and I think DP has forgotten Hmm

MaMaPo · 04/01/2013 22:48

Oh no Brooke - time for a well placed hint?

Will be applying for at least 2 passports as soon as we get little C's birth cert. husband and I travel a lot and want to continue! Nearly booked a weekend in Belgium but held off in case we don't have her passport in time.

I have a moby-type sling and an ergo baby with infant insert. The ergo is great for tall strong husband - I used it today too and it was fine. She sleeps like a log in them both.

Secondsop · 04/01/2013 23:09

We've got a ring sling and one of the long stretchy wraps that a friend made for me. We haven't tried the stretchy one yet. My husband likes putting Z in the ring sling and then doing stuff like cooking.

Those with cleaning issues: if money allows, I cannot recommend getting a cleaner enough. Ours is invaluable - we can pick up after ourselves on a day to day basis but without her we'd never get the house properly cleaned, ever.

HoneyMumandSon · 05/01/2013 00:18

We've just had quite a liquidy poo. No more than usual just more liquid. Should I be worried?

SpottyTeacakes · 05/01/2013 00:18

After eight hours of mostly feeding I'm giving in and getting dp to give a bottle of formula. I'm falling asleep whilst feeding him I'm too tired Sad

SpottyTeacakes · 05/01/2013 00:19

We get that sometimes Honey

yuletopian99 · 05/01/2013 00:23

seconds we finished our cleaner's contract the month before ds was due, as i foolishly thought I'd have time to do it as I'd be at home! (hollow laugh)

Thankfully my mum is planning on coming once a week for a day and a half with the express intention of lightening the household load for the first 8 weeks so hoping this will help.

Sling wise we have the mamas and papas flex which is super comfy and a doddle to put on as it's two big loops and a waistband and you can flip a loop over his head when feeding in public and have total privacy. Love it and would recommend to anyone. We've also been given an ergo-type handmedown one (not sure of brand as haven't properly investigated yet..)

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 05/01/2013 00:47

Just fed laying down for the first time. Way too tired. Night people

SpottyTeacakes · 05/01/2013 01:20

Well he doesn't like formula and I haven't slept yet. Dp is pissing me off

SeymoreInOz · 05/01/2013 02:52

Sorry to all those having a bad night. We had a terrible one too, DS was very wriggly and unhappy, definitely tummy ache, you could hear the gurgles. I wonder if it was something I ate.

stacey I feed lying down all the time with DS and we fall asleep like that when he's finished. I didn't do it with the other 2 but it seems to work with DS. He'll sleep for 3 hours like that or about an hour in his cradle!

I really miss having a cleaner, we had a great one in the UK but it's a lot more expensive here. I've tried a few and they did such a bad job I gave up looking!

pidj we have lots of days like that, I don't know where DS gets the stamina. I hope you've managed some rest.

HoneyMumandSon · 05/01/2013 03:25

ugggghhhhhhh. so tired.
