I loved kate's thread name but thought we needed a birthday theme for this one. We'll soon have 6 weeks of birthdays to celebrate!

Love the name change ChristmastRee. I wondered the other day if it was too early for a festive name change, but I'm feeling festive so might do it later if I get time!

We're still on 4 a day Seven and I'm reluctant to cut them down just yet as she's following the 25th centile perfectly - I don't want her to slip down the centiles any more just because some guidelines say she shouldn't be having that much milk. I'm also concerned that now she's moving about more (crawling etc) that she'll be burning off more calories anyway - people have already commented that now she's crawling she'll lose the baby chub. WHAT BABY CHUB??!?! She's TINY - only just into 6-9 month clothes!

Love the name MissChristmastRee! (I think I became OiMisstletoe last year. Grin)
We're on three bottles a day, 7ml at 10, 2 and 7. However, if we're out and about and have had a good or late lunch, the 2o'clock has often been missed a few times and never noticed - so I'm confident that we'll progress to just 2 sooner rather than later. I wouldn't push reducing bottle numbers, with us, it happened naturally.
Do any of you get the Achica sale emails? After saying a gazillion tims that we aren't getting BOi anything for christmas, I've just caved in and bought him this "Speedster". It is lush. GrinGrin

Good to hear from you air

We were on 4 BFs a day until I swapped the mid-morning one for formula, which she is refusing. So she is currently going from breakfast to lunch without anything else, so we're really on 3 a day now. Not really want to replace it with a snack yet as I'd like her to give in and take formula!

Figgyboy is on 8oz split between his breakfast bottle and cereal, 6 oz around 3pm and then 7oz at bed last week when was at home couple of times I forgot to give him his afternoon bottle and he never looked for it so when he does hit 1 I don't expect a problem dropping it.

At 10 and a half months we've finally retired the steriliser it had become habit so just kept it up but decided to stop and give it a week if no adverse reactions that'd be it.

Sky some days has only 1 bottle other days has 2-3 depending on how she feels.

My Little Lady Sky is badly constipated even after giving her lactulose. Felt really bad as she was screaming in pain trying to go. I honestly thought she was going to hurt herself Sad I have Glycerine suppositories for her now, which will not be fun to insert! ESP on my own as DH is off out!

So DP picked me up from the coach today all full of rage. Apparently my Mum, Dad and Aunt have all commented that Freya's outfit today is "awful" and I shouldn't be dressing her like that.

She is wearing: grey joggers, a lime green t-shirt with a dog on it and her little booty leather shoes the only bloody shoes I can find in a size 1

Wowmistree, what were they expecting, full evening dress?!?! DS LIVES in joggers/dungarees/funky wool trousers. Or maybe they are sucked into the whole daft girls-wear-pink malarkey?

air post away, you're fine. We all have our issues and posting here helps!!

Sorry dsm I think I mis-namechecked your nan. Glad she's home. Hardened arteries is a bit of a tricksy one as unless they can be unblocked there's not much that can be done apart from medicine tweaking really. Chat to the GP if its not clear.

V busy day at work. Yawn....

It's been that sort of day.

I've tried writing about five times what its included, but can't without outing myself. Suffice to say I've been doing what my Chief Exec should be, given the massive financial, reputational and legal risks involved.
Urgh.

Nursery called today to ask if they could give Calpol to DS as he wasn't himself, which I cheerfully authorised. He is drooling like nothing on earth, to the extent where he wet through all the bibs they put on him and then they actually had to change him as he was so wet Confused. As we have 8 teeth already, I'm expecting the molars any moment... Joining you with all of that DSM!

Hope you enjoy your Mum's 70th air, and have a nice time with the family. How're you coping with the depression- is it tablets or anything else?

The lego advent calendar sounds awesome SMS, do you get pieces to build a tree or something behind the doors? I'd love to do something like that for DS, build my own calendar for him.

I have to say your family have an interesting way of going about family relations in advance of the first Xmas with their granddaughter/niece/etc MissRee; are they trying to piss you off?! If anyone described DS as looking awful or commented negatively in any way complete pfb I know I'd be sending them used nappies in the post!
Will a tactful word work or will you need to properly speak to them? And as for baby chubb-hahahahahahhhhahaha!

That's just it Aethel, I don't want her to look like the fairy princess every day!!! She was wearing a dress yesterday... today I decided to put her in something warm and practical for crawling around the blinking floor all day!

I'm not sure how to address it to be honest Northern. They haven't said anything to me directly so I'll wait and see at the weekend, then put my point across.

We've already had the conversation that when I start giving her cows milk that I absolutely MUST buy organic milk because of all the antibiotics in the non-organic stuff. To which I saucily replied that at least she won't get ill often... Wink

Right, a proper update from me.

DSM glad your nan is now home. Hope Sky goes soon, and it doesn't keep her awake.

christmastRee how rude of them, what does it matter to them what she wears?! Presumably they'll be buying her organic milk if they're that bothered about it.

I made a practice run of DDs birthday cake today as I've never had to try lactose-free baking. It turned out delicious, and was great to be able to give her her first slice of cake, it didnt last long!

DS had an appointment for his MD on Wednesday, we were given a form so we can apply to a charity who grant wishes to children with serious medical conditions. DS wants to see inside Big Ben and go on the London Eye, our second choice is Disneyland. muffin I noticed on their website one of the wishes they've granted was to a boy with cerebral palsy, feel free to PM me if you want their details.

The other news is that we've finally exchanged contracts on the flat sale, and it's due to complete on Wednesday! We're waiting until after my scan on Thursday to celebrate.

I'll keep everything crossed that your DS gets his wishes granted too - take him on the cable car too if you get the chance! DSS absolutely loved it!

northern many sympathies and enjoy that Wine, it's so frustrating when you have to do someone's job for them...

air are there any NCT nearly new sales near you? It's a great place to stock up on toys for Christmas:some of the stuff there is new/still boxed, you have to be a bit careful but for the price of one plastic toy in Toys R Us (or equivalent) you can come home with a bagful of things. Stuff like shape sorters and pull-alongs and electronica are especially common....

And congrats on the sale completion. What happened with your parent's purchase?
missree with the advertising and shop displays these days, I imagine it's quite hard to have a daughter who does not want to be a pink fairy princess, so fight it as long as you can! Joggers and practical clothes for mobility and first steps are essential now. Stand your ground.
Loved the comment about antibiotics! He he he!
dsm what's causing Sky's constipation? Poor little thing. Sad if she's dropped some bottles, are you confident she's getting enough fluid into her? BOi's not big on drinking. He's quite good a drinking through a straw and squirting the water out again across the table -as I found out when we went out for lunch on Wednesday. Blush
The boys have been up for 40 mins. I suppose I should go and join them. Have a lovely weekend y'all!

Seven Brilliant news about the completion of the house and your upcoming scan.

Sky drinks alot of water in a day. Am going to make sure she drinks enough. She slept all night and I woke up to a lovely pooey nappy so her lactulose must if worked Grin

My nan is back in hospital something about her breathing so although on Cardio ward waiting for a respiratory consultant to look at her. So whilst I wait for Darcie later on I'm going to nip up there.

oi they saw a brilliant mortgage advisor on the advice of my sister. He said they shouldn't have been turned down due to mums age as there's obviously now no requirement to retire at 65, so they managed to get one. They moved a couple of weeks ago.

dsm sorry your nan is back in hospital, hope the get to the bottom of it.

Would you believe the evening actually got worse Confused?!

After Skyping my Mum (which I did twice as her boiler was leaking massively and she had to have an emergency British Gas call out) I'd had two messages from DP's parents.

DP's family is.... well, DP is the youngest of four, sis, bro, sis, DP. It's all a bit screwy- DP is on speaking terms with the younger sis, who he really gets on with, and his brother. None of the other siblings are on speaking terms with any of the rest, and no-one in the family is currently on speaking terms with the eldest sister as she recently went apeshit and horribly insulted each and every other family member, including wishing some dead.
None have had good relationships to say the least: eldest sis doesn't like her husband, and has two awful kids; bro has had the world's worst divorce, doesn't see his kids any more and has moved back home.
Other sis has been with her partner for 23 years, since they were in their late teens. DP admires them as the happy ones, and holds them up as a good example of why marriage is unnecessary.

I spent an hour on the phone to DP's parents about the sister's break up Shock Kicked out her partner, it's all over and they're off to the solicitors. DP doesn't know, and I will probably have to break it to him. He'll be devastated.

And he's going to be hanging today, he was out at a beer festival last night...

By the way, good on you ref F MissRee; I always promised my child, whichever gender, would live in dungarees. That's brilliant about the milk though, what are they like?

Gosh Northern that does sound like a tricky family, I hope today goes ok when you have to talk to DP. Nursery are getting a little bit better, thanks for asking. Nappy rash/sleep is still an issue but they are actively trying to sort it rather than ignoring it. Am looking at a couple of child minders though to see how I feel about it.

MissRee we have DSS every weekend at the moment. In reality DP only sees DS 5 minutes a day if he manages to get home before hes gone to bed, so the time he spends with the two boys isn't much different, but I know how important does 5 minutes are to him. I think it will get better though, it helps that the boys have a lovely relationship. Congrats on the promotion btw Smile

Sorry to hear your nan is back in hospital DSM hope shes on the mend soon.

Glad the lactose free cake turned out well Seven i'm going to have to try something similar for DS's birthday, did you use a particular recipe or just adapt one you had?

On the milk front we are still on 4 bottles so about 26oz a day, I've tried dropping one in the day but he then wakes at night for it. Although with DS's milk the recommendation for up to a year is 24oz anyway, have hospital appointment for him at the beginning of December so will wait to see what the consultant advises.
