Ooh, used to see a lot of runny eyes when I was in nursery. You can get drops or cream. I would advise picking up some for yourself aswell as its very contagious and you and DH might end up with it too. Warm water and cotton wool to bathe eye if its sticky and stuck together after sleeping. Should clear after a few days. Nursery rule was that children weren't allowed back unless they had treatment as its so contagious. We had an episode when all babies and staff in my room ended up with it!

climbing hurray for ds sleeping

pene Sad for ds's eye

Well i went out today for a christmas lunch and a drink with ex collegues. I got ready whilst eva was having a nap. So when i came back it was the 1st she had seen of me, in full make up, with a dress on (over trousers mind) jewellery and my contact lenses in. She took 1 look and cried, turned to my mum and clung on like a limpet. She thought i was a complete stranger! Shock Blush

I had to sing a couple of my made up songs, before she realised it was me. I really need to stop being so frumpy for 2013!

PenelopeLane · 20/12/2012 18:10

Thanks for the advice! Not still breastfeeding and will try and get drops - not sure if it's my imagination but my eyes feel sorer now but suspect (hope) that's just from looking at A Grin

PenelopeLane · 20/12/2012 18:18

Sassy I empathise. This morning A found my scabby old hoodie that is my default at home thing to wear on the floor, picked it up, and brought it to me with a big smile. It was very cute, but hadn't realised I wore it quite that much

sassy34264 · 21/12/2012 10:10

Grin pene

It's terrible isn't it. I just can't be bothered, but i envy all those who are always made up and looking fab.

Been invited out on the 28th with dp's friends and wives/girlfriends and i just don't want to go. one couple had a baby in nov and can't find a babysitter, so i've offered. How bad is it that i'd rather stay home and look after the new born Hmm ~I need help!!!! Grin

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 21/12/2012 15:44

3 more shifts till I'm done for Christmas. Can't come quick enough!! Trying to remember why I agreed to these?! Hmm

Not long to go Mummy!

Sassy, I know how you feel, we had a church service and staff lunch yesterday for the last day of term and I put in a bit of effort and every child in my class commented on my appearance (in a positive way Wink)!

I guess we're just too used to having snot or puke on our shoulders and banana-y handprints at knee level!

Thank you all for the good wishes. Still feeling well, touch wood, but was at the doctor today and we were working out when the morning sickness kicked in last time and when I ended up in hospital...between week 7-9. As I'm 6+1 today that sound like good timing for Christmas and New Year!

Hope everyone is beginning to wind down at work and is feeling organised for next week!

LittlePebble · 22/12/2012 07:37

MrsH fingers crossed it doesn't rear it's ugly head this time.

Sassy saw your update on Facebook about E, made me snort my coffee through my nose! I think if my pre pregnancy self saw me now she'd have a shock. It's things like plucking my eyebrows I never get time for, I'm alright as long as you don't look closely! Grin

mummy how many shifts now? I was meant to finish yesterday but have to pop in this morning to finish everything, then off for a whole week

tally so scary about Seb. I didn't post on here about my pushchair drama the other week I was too traumatised, but if you can imagine hills in Devon/ brake not working properly on pushchair you might have a clue what happened (still having nightmares). E was fine though not a scratch on him!

strawberry saw the photo of W on Facebook looking really well you must be so relieved Grin

pen we're having a Christmas at my parents and DH's mum is joining us there. Then Cornwall to see DH's brother

We've got to try and finish Christmas shopping today...eeek!

Engelsemama · 22/12/2012 11:21

Morning all! My Christmas holidays are finally here. Christmas show at school went well but it was a loooong week and I found it hard not seeing M at all for 2 days. Still, DH and I are both off for the next 2 weeks so plenty of time for family fun.

I know what you mean about teeth Duck - every time I look in M?s mouth there seems to be a new one!
I didn?t even get Christmas PJs for M Cheshire - the elf ones I thought were really cute were nowhere to be found. But DH?s aunt has given us a present for M to put under the tree (and I know they?re pyjamas!) so we may have to open that one on Christmas Eve. I have new Christmas PJs for me as well and hot chocolate and marshmallows for us to enjoy with a Christmas film on Monday (DH is a total humbug, but if he wants marshmallows he will have to put his santa hat on Xmas Grin )

My best friend lives in Auckland pen so we would def spend at least a week around there. When DH and I first met we went up to Bay of islands, but he hasn?t been to the south island before so we would like to spend at least 2 weeks down there travelling a bit (even though it?ll be winter!). I have 7 weeks holiday but DH will probably only be able to 4 weeks off, which is the only thing limiting us. We?ve been saying we want to go for ages and I figure now is as good a time as any. (and it?s my consolation prize since we?re not ttc!)

M?s draws are full of clothes that are too small for him sassy - I don?t have the strength right now to go through them, and I know the cupboard is packed full of muslins. (and btw at Christmas it?s never too early to have a drink Xmas Grin ).

I have given up trying to look even remotely glam. At the Christmas show at school I was rehearsing all day and after school with kids. At about 5 I grabbed 20 mins for myself to get changed (no point getting dressed up when I would be running around backstage for the whole show so just changed my top) and do my face/put my lenses in. My colleagues then all told me how tired I looked (probably because I wasn?t hiding behind my glasses anymore) and I couldn?t avoid being herded onto the stage at the end to get my flowers, drenched in sweat/hair scraped back/shiny face. Everyone else was in their glad rags (it?s one of the few big events in the year where all the parents pitch up) and the contrast between them and me was not pretty! Xmas Blush

Xmas Sad Tally I hope S?s okay. These things happen.

DH is round painting at his parents? today. Have just put M in bed. No vomit since Monday, but I think he?s constipated. He hasn?t had a poo since Wed evening. What can I do to help him out?

My house is a tip, I didn?t get any of my marking done last week so if I don?t do it this weekend it?s going to hang over me the whole holiday! I?m not sure where to start today!

sassy34264 · 22/12/2012 15:25

Oh my xmas is going well!

aibu

strawberrypenguin · 22/12/2012 18:31

W is doing great thanks pebble he's pretty much completely back to normal apart from an itchy head where his stitches are coming out. Think he's getting close to his first word too. Is your BIL ok on Cornwall? Haven't they had a lot of floods there?

sassy I had to smile at E's reaction I dread to think what W would think if he saw me in a dress an makeup! Sorry your DP is being an arse Sad

duck hopefully those last shifts will fly by and it will christmas before you know it Smile

Engelsemama · 23/12/2012 10:48

Sad sassy Sorry to hear that. I would be very put out to put it politely if DH organised a meal with his DB/DM/DF if SIL and DN's were invited but I was not!

M is still having some poop issues. (sorry - TMI!) Really dry, not much of it - he's usually very..ahem...regular. Def constipated and I think it's making him grumpy. Plus we had a little bit of vomit yesterday (but only a little).

I really have to go and get some marking done or it's going to hang over me for the whole of the holidays. It's miserable and raining here so definitely an inside day, but want to make the most of it and get something done (even if that something is very uninteresting!)

Engelsemama · 24/12/2012 11:04

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you're all off having fun with your loved ones. x

CheshireDing · 24/12/2012 22:50

Have a lovely Christmas Day ladies and babies :)

strawberrypenguin · 24/12/2012 22:53

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 25/12/2012 12:23

Merry Christmas ladies! Can't believe this is our second Christmas with our little munchkins Smile

Santa was very good to S, she loves the little tea set from gran and papa, it's def been the hit so far!

Merry Christmas mums and babes!xx

TallyBear · 25/12/2012 15:51

Merry Christmas everyone.

Odd one for us: car broke down on way to in-laws! We were only 15 mins down the road but finally towed back home 3 hours later (AA man reckons it might be 4 figures to fix - ouch!). No christmas lunch, no presents (not ours anyway). At least the cats were pleased to see us. Neighbours took pity on us and gave us some of their turkey and some (uncooked) veg and a couple of crackers. DH moping about so left to me to organised a christmas lunch (of sorts) and entertain Seb. They are both asleep now. Bit fed up. Dh could at least make an effort.

Sorry for the grump; looks like a grinch stole our christmas Sad. Hope everyone else having a better day.

sassy34264 · 25/12/2012 20:25

oh tally Sad so sorry you had such a bad day. can you have an xmas day on another day? iyswim?

merry christmas everyone. x

Engelsemama · 26/12/2012 09:47

Merry Christmas everyone!

Xmas Sad Tally Hope you have a very merry Boxing Day to make up for it!

M only got 2 proper presents yesterday (a sound bus and a drum - I must be crazy) and he won't put them down! (everything else in his stocking was boring - like socks or toiletries). I expect he'll get spoiled rotten this weekend when we have our fake Christmas with my family.

England here I come! (well, almost, have to get packed and then get through Boxing Day afternoon with the ILs first, but will be hitting the White Cliffs tomorrow morning).

TallyBear · 26/12/2012 19:17

Hi everyone, not so fed up today. Xmas Smile
We were due to go to my folks on Sat/Sun for another Christmas, as my brother will be there then too. No garage open at the moment to fix the car before then but my dad might come to pick us up and then my aunt will drop us off on her way home on Monday. It will mean leaving the cats for two nights but we've done it before. So we might get a Christmas after all... And I want Ed to see the Hobbit on evening, if one of the oldies will babysit!
On a low note, between the two of us we've gone through almost a whole tin of Heroes that we bought to take yesterday. Xmas HmmThe only ones left are the ones dh won't eat!
Merry Christmas all!

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 26/12/2012 21:41

tally what a nightmare!!! Fingers crossed for a better few days!!
engels have a lovely 2nd Xmas!!

I'm just about to do my first nightshift Sad. Wish I hadn't agreed to it but the mention of double time was to hard to turn down! Managed a few hrs sleep this afternoon so I'm sure with the help of some caffeine I'll get through it. Got to put S to bed and she should be getting up just as I'm getting home at 8.30qm tomorrow! My mum will take her out for a few hours so I can sleep for a bit.

We had a lovely Christmas. Very quiet but just how I like it Smile. Her fav present has been a tea pot and 2 cups and saucers Hmm Grin and she's just got the hang of pouring the tea into the cups and giving them to us. It's very cute.

Right, I've sat in the car long enough. Hope everyone is well Smile xx

Hope everyone had a great xmas! Mine was fab - three days of hilarious glutonous chaos with my family, even though it was so hot the roast lunch almost put everyone to sleep. A certainly has the idea of presents now, the first one he watched with interest as I opened it, now he leaps right into it Grin

engels let me know if you pass through Wellington at all Smile

MrsHende · 27/12/2012 12:26

How did you get on Mummy?

Tally, what a nightmare. So glad you are getting a second chance at Christmas on Saturday! Hope you enjoyed the Heroes!!

Did any of you have any bleeding when you were pregnant? I've had some today, just waiting to go to the early pregnancy unit to get checked out. I was so pleased that I hadn't had any morning sickness yet, now I'm so regretting being pleased about it Hmm.

strawberrypenguin · 27/12/2012 17:34

Hope everything is ok mrsH

Tally did your Christmas get any better? Hope it did Smile

We had a lovely Christmas I'm so pleased we said we'd do our own this year fitting the relatives in on either side of the big day. We don't get much time just the three of us so it was lovely Grin

DH has taken W up to MK to visit his mum and dad I'm back at work so have the house to myself (and cat) tonight. Seem very quiet and I'm still closing the sodding stair gate behind me!
