engels all of A's shoes are second hand! As I got them from a fair, they may even be third had. But, they are great. And, to be fair, I also live in a country where flip flops can be considered formal attire in some situations.

Poor S!

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 14/10/2012 09:09

Just got up and she's covered in rash again Sad. Piriton helping so not to go back to hospital unless it comes back again in next few hrs Confused

strawberrypenguin · 14/10/2012 09:14

Poor S duck hope she feels better and you get to the bottom of it soon. Have you changed washing powders or anything like that recently?

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 14/10/2012 09:37

Thanks sp. It's really odd, nothing has changed and she ate nothing new recently. Said possible reaction from mmr that age had a week past on Thursday there, but she thinks it would have shown up before now. The piriton is working thankfully. Just need to keep a close eye on her.

Hope everyone is well Smile

MrsHende · 15/10/2012 11:31

How's S today? Hope the rash didn't reappear.

We're off to Aviemore tomorrow for a few days holiday, today we need to get L a snowsuit!

sassy34264 · 15/10/2012 12:03

Hi everyone.

Hope you and the babies are all well? Sorry if you are not. Poor s mummyduck hope it doesnt happen again.

I have read bits and pieces of the thread (didn't realise we had internet until last week in italt doh) but not all of it.

will endeavour to keep up once again.

Not loads happening here really. Only that Eva has croup, and the twins started nursery for 2 mornings a week, last week.

Sorry to all the birthdays i've missed, hope they all had fun. Smile

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 15/10/2012 22:07

Thanks Duck. Had a great party Sunday and day out yesterday at the zoo (even though it was heaving with half term visitors). Will BBL yo catch up, right now M is at nursery and I am ready to start my school work while he's not here.

x

strawberrypenguin · 16/10/2012 11:00

Aaaaarghh DH just had a call from Oxford and W's op is being put back to January because he currently has a virus and thy wont operate within 6 weeks of one unless its an emergency. Don't really know what to do with myself right now, I was all prepared for it and now we're back to not even having a set date Sad

Engelsemama · 16/10/2012 11:08

Oh no strawb - how infuriating. The only comfort is that they are concerned enough about W to put it off rather than risk operating now so at least they're taking his health seriously, but I understand why you're so upset. You've been mentally preparing yourself for months, and now you have to go through it all again Sad

Sending you a big hug from Holland.

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 16/10/2012 11:30

Oh no strawberry Sad

OP posts:
CheshireDing · 16/10/2012 12:13

Aww Strawberry sorry to hear that. I think (much as it is probably impossible) you should try and not think about it for now. You don't want to be worrying over it for nearly 3 months and as Engels said at least they are not classing it as an emergency though.

I have had 3 hours sleep on the floor of the nursery, feeling quite perky all things considered. P was screaming from 1am-3am and then eventually fell asleep next to me on the rug whilst I was in my dressing gown. Had to get up at 6am and drive to work, lovely! :)

Climbingpenguin · 16/10/2012 12:56

strawberry that must be hard, as it means with the inevitable winter viral season, you have no idea.

chesire just remind yourself being at work is easier than dealing with a baby, even if it does suck.

DS actually slept 6/7 hours the past two nights, however I caught DD's lurgy and have had awful nights so have not yet to feel the benefit. Plus I know it means it will stop again just as quickly. Still hopefully we have turned a corner and perhaps we will get once or twice a week

DS's party went well even though most of the children cancelled as they were ill. ILs were manageable and I drugged DD so she was OK for the party itself. Still can't believe he's one, but he seems to act more like it now. I spend half of playgroup making sure he doesn't fall off what he climbs. He's still not walking but will climb anything.

strawberrypenguin · 16/10/2012 19:30

Happy birthday to E pebble and happy belated birthday to M eng
Glad the party went well climbing

Thank you for the wise and kind words ladies Smile I know they are just doing what they think best but I've swung between wanting to curl up and cry or have a screaming argument with someone since I found out. I just feel so powerless and its horrible.

strawberrypenguin · 16/10/2012 19:31

Fx you gets bit more sleep tonight cheshire you must be superwoman running on 3 hours sleep!

MrsHende · 16/10/2012 20:09

Ach strawb, that's so frustrating. Could you maybe get a cancellation before January? If your op has been cancelled then others must be too. Like Engels said, it's good that he's not an emergency case and that they are taking his health seriously.

Chesh, hope P has a better night tonight, poor thing, is it teeth?

Hooray for 7 hours climbing! How rubbish though that you didn't enjoy it, hope you feel better.

Hugs for poorly babes, poorly mums, sleep deprived mums and frustrated mums!

We're having a lovely time in Aviemore - couldn't get a snowsuit in L's size at home so had a look for one here today. £45!!!!! Some were £75! Think I'll just he wrapping her in blankets and waiting till I get home to buy the right size in the £12 Tesco snowsuit! Grin

Engelsemama · 17/10/2012 07:31

Welcome back sassy Glad you had a good time in Italy ? pictures look great. Good to hear the twins have some nursery time ? hope it gives you a bit more of a breather.

MrsH enjoy your break. We are not planning on any wintersport trips this year and the odds of snow are quite small, but if it does snow I will be putting M in the all-in-one rain suit a colleague gave me and layering him up underneath! but blankets sound good to me

Managed to get some sleep last night Cheshire?

Hope you?re feeling better climbing. Has DS been reading your MN name? Grin

strawb find some random person to scream at if it makes you feel better or do it at the tv, it?s what I do everytime Ainsley Harriot is on tv

Sunday was really nice. Everyone seemed to arrive at once and so was a bit of a whirl of coffee and tea and cake, but then calmed down. We invited all of DH?s family, though not all of them came, but was really nice with people dropping in throughout the day. Time to rev up for birthday party number 2 with our friends --and their kids?this weekend.

The zoo on Monday was lovely ? quite nippy weather so Max was wrapped up warm in his new coat, and able to toddle about in his shoes. He refused to fall asleep the whole day as he didn?t want to miss anything, and then as soon as we got in the car he was out. We were going to go for a pancake house for dinner but I Max was so tired that we decided to do it another day because I?m such an old lady.

So, on my 2nd baby free day with M at nursery. Managed to get all of my marking done yesterday. Still have some bits and pieces of planning and reading today which I may do today, but more importantly it?s my ME day today. Having ,lunch with a friend after I get my hair cut. Then going to do bits and pieces in town and come home and enjoy an empty house for a few hours.

Feels really weird being at home without M though. I keep catching myself thinking, ?Max is still sleeping, he must be really tired!? before remembering that he?s not here!

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 17/10/2012 12:13

Been gone so long I've fallen off the thread again Blush
Wee update on me. As everyone predicted I ended up giving H another chance. (I know I'm predictable/frustrating) but at least this time we have actually gone through with booking counselling and have our first session a week today.
I am now starting to think maybe I've been really negative on him he has sopped smoking (cannabis) and hasn't touched it since January/christmas last year can't remember and he probably doesn't drink much more than average it just seems worse to me because I don't touch alcohol iyswim?
He is good with the kids most days, I'm also hoping it works for financial reasons. Our circumstances are quite a bit worse than I thought (after speaking to lenders going through statements etc. so got a bit of a hole we need to climb out of. Sad

ipswichwitch · 17/10/2012 20:55

ed, regardless of what you decide and what changes of heart you may have I sincerely hope that however things turn out you will be happy, and make the decisions that are right for you. Counselling sounds like a good step IMO.

Happy belated birthdays, I've been a bit crap in keeping up . N is poorly again- ear infection and conjunctivitis :( so no sleep for anyone in the witch household. And in other news, I am pregnant! Was a big surprise, and actually found out on the wedding day (some wedding present huh!), so I had to spend the whole day avoiding BIL who was determined to buy me a ridiculously alcoholic drink! I've not been feeling great- couple of vomiting episodes (never had that last time), extremely tired and v gassy (sorry if tmi!)

Sorry about Ws op sp. It's so frustrating I know, to get yourself prepared then have it cancelled like that. I hope they come back with a new date soon and fingers x'ed it happens this time

CheshireDing · 17/10/2012 21:44

Wow Ips so pleased for you ! :) x I hope you keep us updated with all the info Grin

Counselling sounds good Ed and a step in the progressive/right direction. At the end of the day it is whatever will make you happy, just do remember to think of yourself in all of this too. If you are unhappy other people will end up that way too by default.

Engels I have Friday off to do stuff and P will be at nursery. I did worry that I was supposed to feel bad and it but she enjoys nursery and I can get shit done so surely it's okay, it's it?

< still questioning myself because I read AIBU >

Glad the party went okay Climbing. You are right being at work is easy peasy Grin (would prefer to be loaded and scratch around at home though!)

Strawberry 3 hours sleep just means Snickers and today I found out where the Starbucks is near work, soon my work clothes will no longer be too big for me :(

MrsH don't get carried away with yourself, it's definitely still the singular "tooth" and that's only a sliver, there ain't more than one in that mouth! Anyway she had risotto tonight so I am hoping she is loaded down with rice Grin

strawberrypenguin · 17/10/2012 23:07

Congratulations ips Grin hope N feels better soon too

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 17/10/2012 23:10

Ips Shock congratulations Grin
Sorry to hear about all the poorly babies, and happy birthday to any I've missed over the last few days.
My 2 have had a cough for what feels like months, I keep thinking its getting better, they'll have a few days of no coughing/snot etc then it's back again Confused
We've decided just to do a little tea and cake party for M with just grandparents/godparents at home the Sunday after her birthday.

So strange but despite the fact that m can only say a couple of words ATM she can actually say "I love you" although she only ever says it to C which is really cute I think she learned it from him as he's constantly saying it to her/me/H or just random strangers Hmm
She also started shouting DINNER really loudly at me this afternoon I think she may have been hungry Grin

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 17/10/2012 23:48

Congratulations ips SmileSmileSmile
