Yes, yes, it's a bit lame. I wanted to say: "Still fucking on!" but wary of causing offence....

I know 'biffing' is a bit PG Wodehouse, as well. You'll just have to humour me Grin

I just want to have a little boast about my super Dad. He got laid off about 2 years ago and since then has passed his English and Maths GCSEs, done a computing course, volunteered in a charity shop for 6 months, now volunteers in a coffee shop in a council office anddoes work with the Norfolk cycling road safety team. Despite collapsing a few times and now having his pacemaker.

Well tomorrow he's being a Marshall for the Tour Of Britain tomorrow. I'm so very jealous as he's going to be seeing Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish. Plus all the others.

I don't know if he'll ever get another proper job as he's 60 next year but it's amazing all he's done compared to XH other people who are unemployed.

RTchoke · 08/09/2012 18:19

Ladies, I am going to totally abuse the thread with my bad manners because I know I have been AWOL most of the summer and I confess that although I have sometimes lurked I am not currently up to date BUT.....

Before catching-up I just have to get this off my chest. Am in total shock. Seriously spun out but I just peed on a stick and discovered DC3 is lurking in my uterus.

Deep breaths.

I know we had decided to go for this but I cannot tell you how little effort we put in and therefore how sure I was that we were far from the actual event.

Must go tear the girls off each other (and remember to breath).

By the way, I hope I am recognisable with my new moniker.

McKayz · 08/09/2012 18:26

Congratulations RT. I've been shocked all 3 times with mine despite them all being planned.

Indith · 08/09/2012 19:13

Woohoo!

Congratulations!

JamInMyWellies · 08/09/2012 20:15

Bloody lovely news. Congratulations!!!

RTchoke · 08/09/2012 20:28

OK, I have caught-up and calmed down.

Beans - so sorry to hear about your Grandad and about your heart scares. When they were checking out your symptoms did they do a thyroid test? I ask because my friend had terrible palpitations last year and it turned out that she had really abnormal thyroid levels. It is not uncommon for your thyroid to act up after kids.

Rubes - glad you had a fab holiday. You are amazing flying so much with kids. Re sitters.co.uk - we used them quite a bit and always got good people. Now we tend to use nursery workers or our nanny but I would love a cheap local teen!

Kiwi - DD2 would never let anyone but us or the nanny put her to bed. I cannot imagine her reaction if we tried! To be fair this does not restrict us too much because she is happy with the nanny who is around lots and often puts her down. But she only trusts the nanny because she spends more than half her life with her. What I am trying to say is that your girls are not that unusual.

Kayz - your dad does sound amazing. Good on him. I bet he is feeling pretty happy too which is what its all about.

Right, still processing today's news so I am off for a glass of wine and some ice cream (just the one glass I promise - I have to seize every moment before the morning sickness hits).

SummerLightning · 08/09/2012 21:19

Wow congratulations rt!! What exciting news! Hope you don't feel too crappy this time round.

Rubes if it is not too late I can message you dh's email address as that is the address fro our sitters account - that would be cool...but maybe beans could use instead?

Kayz your dad sounds awesome!

Kiwi hope tooth is ok did you get to do your 10k?

JollyJellyBear · 08/09/2012 21:19

Hurrah! Fab news RT. Can I confess my stupidity in reading your name over and over (before I read your post) thinking 'who is this?'! Blush I've a terrible blind spot for word games and am easily confused.

Indith Did you win best Victoria sponge in show?

VagolaJahooli · 08/09/2012 23:09

I am lurking from the far reaches of the Netherlands in Maastricht but had to come out of the shadows to say woot woot Aubs, that's is wonderful news. Have you literally just peed on the stick? How was DH with the news. Sooooooo exciting.

And Kayz I think your dad is brilliant, what a contribution to the community & such a good example to his grandkids.

Right will post more tomoz, good Luck kiwi.

RTchoke · 09/09/2012 10:00

Yes Vag, I peed on the stick yesterday, then I could not decide whether I could see a line or not so peed on another two sticks before I was convinced.

I feel a bit odd about it. I haven't told anyone yet. Within minutes of finding I was expecting both girls I had told various friends. This time I know most people will be surprised and for some reason I can't face their questions. I am happy but also really overwhelmed and a bit scared.

sybilfaulty · 09/09/2012 11:55

Congratulations, RT. I was also overwhelmed and scared with DS, so I know how you feel. ONce you get used to the idea you will be thrilled. Promise. I think so many people expect one to have 2 kids that you feel a bit shy to say you are having 3. I didn't tell lots of people til quite late. Work pissed me off about something so I told them at 24 weeks. Bastards. God bless floaty tops.

KiwiPanda · 09/09/2012 12:22

RT that's lovely news! Though can appreciate the shock at happening so fast too! I didn't tell work about DD2 until 22 weeks too. Keep it to yourselves as long as you feel like, I say.

Back from my race. Bit gutted I didn't break 45 minutes but did a PB and I did have to stop briefly at one point as my stomach hurt and felt grim so not bad overall.

And now I properly have DH back too! No more 'limpics! Hooray! He's been working every single night for last 10 days so have been SO BORED on sofa by myself..!

I go back to work in 4 weeks and 1 day. Blimey. Day after my half marathon too.

Oh and tomorrow I have a meeting at work. I appealed against decision to not allow me to work at home and they summoned me to meeting. Should be fun .. I don't think

Rubena · 09/09/2012 14:47

RT!! So thrilled for you as I know you gave it a lot of thought. Looking forward to following along x
Of course SL - I was waiting to hear back from you just incase. Beans not using them anymore I think - beans? I think it's just email address so send me that and I'll let you know if I need anything else.

urbanewarrior · 09/09/2012 17:00

Hello everyone. Sorry it's been so long and will have to read and do catch up. Should be easier now I'm nearly back at work. Eek. Just wanted to say congrats to RT - can appreciate the sentiment. We didn't tell for a while - I have to say partly because I just couldn't be assed with the discussion. As you know I love love love having three. Even though we have no money and the house is a tip, and the washing yadda yadda. Enjoy the sunshine and the glass of wine. Have to confess am slightly envious. Even though 4 is obviously mental and completely out of question.

Kiwi pleased you have your DH back. Although I for one will really miss the Olympics & Paralympics. Would like to think that there would be forever be a bit of East London where there is that much joy.

LadyThompson · 09/09/2012 20:55

Aaaaaaaaargh. I am so behind. I really miss everyone! I have a friend coming to visit tomorrow lunch then MIL is coming but did want to say HOOOOOORRAAAAHHH TO Arti and big love to everyone else. xxxxxxxxx

Beans36 · 09/09/2012 22:03

HURRRRRRAAAAAAHHHHH! I am jealous and also in awe. So torn about a third, like you were RT, but good on you!!! Happy happy days!! I veer from day to day. But have come off pill, which must say something!

And have just found a friend of mine who has been TTC for 7 years has had successful IVF. And is having twins. Joy!! Life is sweet.

SL - go for it with sitters. Rubes, you're right, I don't use sitters any more.

I must way to bed. Exhausted.

VagolaJahooli · 10/09/2012 09:11

Oh Beans that is lovely news. Gefeliciteerd to them. When are they due?

Grrr I've still got this lurgy. Had a lovely weekend away in Maastricht with my friends, there were 6 of us we have 15 children between us all and one of the ladies has one on the way. So we were all well up for a relaxing time, and it was. We just wandered around the beautiful town, (Maastricht is really lovely) and drank lots of wine. Our various menfolk had conspired together to have a bottle of lovely bubbly & choccies waiting for us when we arrived in our rooms. Was really lovely. Unfortunately, the hotel, though stupidly expensive was not very good at all and gave us rooms with shared double beds even though we had rang & emailed several times confirming that we needed separate beds. In one case the beds could be separated and we were told we could do it ourselves. We pointed out that we were there for a weekend away not to move furniture and that was why we had double checked the rooms has separate beds. Anyhoo it was still a lovely weekend. Just wish I didn't have this cold. DH left yesterday for Ghana before I got back. The boys had a great afternoon with the babysitter.

VagolaJahooli · 10/09/2012 09:13

Did someone ask about power plates or did I dream that?

spotofcheerfulness · 10/09/2012 14:20

Will be back tomorrow for proper catch up.

Just had 2 large glasses of wine. Yawn! Was lovely!

VagolaJahooli · 10/09/2012 21:20

KiwiPanda · 11/09/2012 09:11
