Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
EdwardorEricCantDecide · 28/08/2012 12:07

Hi everyone, still trying to at least lurk when I can. C is settling well at nursery I went to pick him up yesterday and he said; "sorry mum I'm very busy right now" SadShock
M is into everything, she pulled a lamp down yesterday and it smashed luckily she wasnt hurt. She's now cruising the furniture quite well and ha 2 teeth.
Things with DH are still shit we were going for a month break and he was going to stay in his dads house but he suggested that days ago and still hasn't left. He said he was afraid that he would enjoy it too much Confused I replied if that's the case you should definitely go! He said he doesn't want to split but knows he'll enjoy the break!
So I was all ready to push him to get organised an pack some stuff when I came downstairs he had cleaned all downstairs and put a wash on, so then I feel like he's making an effort and I can't really tell him to go. Don't know what to do.

BB3 · 28/08/2012 12:44

Ed, I do think you need a break, you can always find reasons to not ask him to go but you then come back to where you are now at some point. it's not a break up, it's just some time apart to work out what you both want x

Bless M - I am not brave enough to let the girls loose with spoons, Edie makes enough mess with just her hands!!!

ClimbingPenguin · 28/08/2012 13:02

ed it seems you keep playing the same cycle over and over :( he agrees to some space, you get almost there and then he changes his, does a tiny little bit of housework to make you doubt yourself.

strawberrypenguin · 29/08/2012 06:54

Yay for teeth fuzzzy

Sorry things still haven't improved ed

We had a hospital check up yesterday, W's head has got a bit longer but no immediate concern so we're looking at surgery towards the end if the year, date tbc

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 29/08/2012 08:04

sp Sad for W. what will they be doing? That must be so hard for you and dh to even think about!

S is having terrible problems with trapped wind now at night. Don't know if I'm going to have to start looking at her diet to see the cause of it. She was restless and unsettled for 3 hours last night before she finally went to sleep but I could hear her tummy gurgling and then she would release it from her bottom! I'm taking her to be weighed this afternoon so will ask then. She's sitting here with me and I'm sure she has bags under her eyes!!!

Hope everyone had good night Smile

ClimbingPenguin · 29/08/2012 12:34

Strawberry I just couldn't imagine having to deal with all that in the background, let alone with the surgery day actually arrives. You come across very calm about it all.

DS hasn't had a morning nap for the past two days.

sassy34264 · 29/08/2012 14:52

hello!

yeah!! for teeth/walking/standing etc

Sad for poorly babies

brilliant on the triathlon bb3 did you enjoy it? (you dont sound like you did)

ed he's not not going cos he thinks he will enjoy it- quite the opposite. he's saying that to scare you into calling the break off. same reason why he suddenly helps out- he doesnt want to go.

'but he suggested that days ago and still hasn't left. '

this sentence is your problem- and where your solution lies.

i said last time i posted that you need to take charge. he still calls all the shots.

eva is standing!!! she has a crisis of confidence after a while though and lowers herself down.

tally eva cries when she sees me too- its not a sign they dont want you! its a sign that they've missed you and love you the best.

strawberry sorry there has been a negative sign, but glad its only slight. you sound like you are coping better than i would.

sassy34264 · 29/08/2012 15:04

fuzzy can see that strawberry says congrats on the job- but cant actually find your post about it! do you have a new job?

climbing congrats on the running. im having so much problems with my shins. its really pissing me off!!!!!! started to concentrate on biking instead. and intend to swim a lot in italy.

cheshire £1000!!!! eek. did he do it right after your 'losing' it with him?

bunt awh poor j.

fuzzy i had problems with the twins and trapped wind up until quite recently. minced meat in spag bol would have them both up screaming and trumping away. hope you find a culprite.

sorry if ive missed anyone/anything.

had twins 2 year check up today. development on target apart from jacob's speech. some things are really clear, but a lot of it i need to decipher for people. so i need to see her again in 6 months. im not worried at all though. i think he will be fine.

dd1's 12th birthday tomorrow! where does the time go?!

CheshireDing · 29/08/2012 23:04

Thanks bunt maybe there will be a holiday baby number 2, I would probably not have bothered taking the pill after P was born if I had known bf stops AF and No2 Grin
Excellent running climbing
Aww love that ed I hope P is as happy at nursery as C saounds! As others have sound your DH does seem to be repeating the same pattern again and just dragging the situation out, bit bloody rude too to say he would like the break! Sad
strawberry I know you probably have no alternative in reality but I think you and DH must be so brave. Sometimes just the way P looks at me makes me want to cry I cannot imagine what I would be like if she needed an op, although I am sure a some point she wil probably break a bone or something she is quite bull in a chinashopish! Grin
Car being fixed now sassy but will cos us £400 excess Sad so am getting a new sun visor included in the price (on the quiet) a the same time silver linings and all that Smile
No teeth here AT ALL and sat waiting fr our flight which is delayed by 3.5 hours, we could have been half way the in that time AND the vouchers said "refreshment" but the man said I can't buy wine, outrageous!,!, felt sorry for P as she was awake well past bedtime I hope she sleeps ok on the flight feel really sorry for her. Think I am very tired and emotional at the moment Grin

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 29/08/2012 23:14

cheshire tired and emotional... Are you sure no2 isn't on the way...?!
Have an amazing time on holiday. So Envy your going on the big emirates plane!!!

Penelope1980 · 30/08/2012 05:12

Was wondering - who is still bfeeding? I am doing twice a day still - morning and before bed. I want to go until he's one, but after that not sure.

Hope everyone is well! I am good - A starts nursery properly on Mon, and the settling in has gone well. I saw him before he saw me when I went to get him today and he was happily playing which made me feel 100% about leaving him there.

ed sorry to hear about the problems with DH.

Cheshire have a nice flight!

strawberry I echo what Cheshire said, must be so hard seeing your LOs having and op. Bad enough when they're sick.

A is going through a phase when if DH gets up for a night feed he'll settle afterward, but won't if it's me! Anyone else have something similar? It means it's easier for me not to get up though Grin

I think it's a year this week since I went on Mat leave. Time flies! I'd do it all again I think. What a fab year! (Maybe I should go and look at those threads we wrote while waiting for our babies for a reminder of the less than pleasant bits ... )

strawberrypenguin · 30/08/2012 10:43

Thanks ladies you are all very kind, I don't feel brave just like its something we need to do, i don't let myself dwell on too much its just part of him. Will be in bits when he's in for his op tho.

fuzzzy poor S trapped wind is horrible

chesh hope flight was ok in the end and ouch at £400 excess.

sassy glad twins checkup was ok. Happy birthday to DD1 Smile

strawberrypenguin · 30/08/2012 10:45

pen W starts nursery on Monday to 'im trying not to think about it too much!

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 30/08/2012 11:47

Does anyone know how long it takes for milk to dry up? I was down to 2 very short feeds in the daytime then stopped about 2 weeks ago. But sometimes my boobs feel a bit lumpy and sore where the lumps are :-S if I massage the lump it a bit the pain/lump goes but tends to turn up somewhere else later.

ClimbingPenguin · 30/08/2012 13:29

ed I have heard all kinds of time frames but a bit of lumpiness at 2 weeks sounds normal to me.

LittlePebble · 30/08/2012 13:33

Strawberry ((hugs)) keep us posted on the date of the op x

Ed I think it took a few weeks but I can't remember how long exactly, I didnt have lumps though maybe keep an eye on them and get them checked out by HV if they don't go away?

I hope things are better with DH? I agree I think he's not leaving because he's scared to (because you might be the one to realise how much you enjoy it) not the other way around. You need to be firm if you want him to leave for a while (do you want him to leave?)

cheshire enjoy your holiday! I wish I was TTC I'm still trying to persuade DP to go for no.2.......

OP posts:
ClimbingPenguin · 30/08/2012 13:39

I would like to say that all those wanting TTC I would recommend a bit more time Grin

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 30/08/2012 15:06

LP things aren't too bad with DH as such it's just his drinking which he's clearly still in denial about. I also seem to swing from loving him to bits one day to literally not being able to stand the sight of him the next Confused so I actually don't know in myself if I want him to go or not, which is what makes me think we do need a break just to see if I actually miss him or not.

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 31/08/2012 08:09

Wise ladies...

S has really really cut down what's she's eating and drinking since tue. That was the day her tooth cut but as far as I can tell, it's not causing any pain so doubt it's related. She's went from eating everything to just a few mouthfuls then declares she's finished and there's no persuading her otherwise!
This morning i made a 6oz bottles, she drank 1oz. I've made her porridge, ate a few spoons so I added some fruit purée, managed just another few spoons. I've gave her a finger of my toast and peanut butter but she is just playing about with it. This is the way most meal times have went for a few days now. You think it's ok? She is still drinking her normal amount of water from cup. I've just never known her to eat so little HmmConfused

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 31/08/2012 09:10

It will most likely be her teeth, and will pass x

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 31/08/2012 09:12

Thanks ed. Really wasn't sure! Blush

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 31/08/2012 10:01

Teething has given M a lot of pain but not really affected her eating but with C he didn't cry or moan a lot but did go off his food for days at a time.
Keep a wee eye out for other symptoms anyway just invade she's maybe picked up a wee bug or something x

Engelsemama · 31/08/2012 10:04

Morning all,

How?s S doing now fuzzy ? Great tooth news Grin

Can?t remember who said it but I really shouldn?t be mentioned in the list of brave mums with ips , strawb et al. Apart from a sniffle and a helmet we?ve had nothing to be brave about here. So much respect for you ladies.

Up the stairs scheh Shock M has just started to experiment with our stairs ?when he gives me the slip?so am having to make sure I keep the internal doors closed.

BB3 well done on triathlon and climbing on running. I MUST get back pounding the pavements or I?m going to look like a lump of lard in my sister?s wedding photos in October

Cheshire Sad at car. Just caught up on your AIBU thread about DH. Yesterday I came home to ? no washing up or washing done, empty loo rolls, no hovering or cleaning of any kind remotely attempted. GRrrrrrr ? feeling rather frustrated with DH right now at the same time as trying to make allowances for him (he DOES make a mean curry) but now I?m back at work I really don?t feel like I can do this on my own (not really doing it on my own, but feels that way sometimes).

Keeping my fingers crossed for you ttc-wise. Enjoy your holiday.

Are you full time mrsH ? secondary or primary (I can?t remember!)

tally M?s skills with eating and drinking have really improved since starting nursery and interacting more with other kids. I think he had a bit of a crisis of confidence with self feeding a few months ago and refused to feed himself (Just sit with eyes closed and mouth open instead) but he?s over that now and back to stuffing his face.

ed sorry to hear everything?s so rubbish. I do agree that you need a break and some space from each other so that you can both work out how you really feel. Perhaps your DH is afraid that if he goes, even for a short while, then you will decide that your life is easier without him.

Happy birthday to DD1 sassy

M was awake 3 times last night ? 11, 3 and 6 ? screaming. Stopped as soon as I got him out of bed. Not thirsty, nose not blocked. I think he may also have had trapped wind fuzzy. Don?t have to look too far for the culprit ? we had cilli con carne last night (M?s without the chillI) but amd thinking that the beans and maybe the mince may have disagreed with him.

He?s just fallen asleep in his highchair with a biscuit in his hand so have popped him in bed.

Helmet appt on Monday went well ? he measured Ms head and was pretty pleased with it. He disagrees with the measurements the physio took the week before, so not sure what went wrong there. Still, counting down the weeks til we?re rid of it. Only a month and a half left. Am going to get some nice photos taken so that M can show off his lovely hair ? my birthday present to him (and to myself!)

Have friends coming over from the States tomorrow so time to clean up this pigsty!

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 31/08/2012 10:30

engel I agree I also think that's why he's so reluctant to leave. I gave him the shits this morning (arguing about money) when I told him I'd already done the math and would be better off financially without I didn't mention this was provided he gave me decent maitainence
M Iis the same she races to the stairs every time my back is turned have to keep remembering to close living room door.

MrsHende · 31/08/2012 21:27

Hello ladies,

On my iPod but will try to remember what I can (but don't expect me to compete with Engels last post!).

I'm still breastfeeding pene, but planning to stop in the next couple of weeks. Finding it too exhausting while working, even though I'm down to just two feeds a day.

Engels, I'm a full time primary teacher. I've got P1 this year (six months older than Reception in England). So far they're sweet but exhausting!

Fuzzzy, how's S now?

We've had a hard week here. We went to the OOHs doctor on Sunday and she was sick again on Monday, not sick Tues or Wed but sick again on Thurs at nursery and through the night last night and tonight after dinner. I really can't work out what's wrong with the poor wee soul. She doesn't have a temperature or diahorrea. She's not very unwell, in fact is often giggling after she's been sick, but is sleeping a lot more than usual. Doctor on Monday I think.

Hope you've all got nice plans for the weekend? As long as L has a decent night we're off to Sing and Sign with Fuzzzy and S - it's in Milngavie at 11am if you're free Ed?
