Quick question for ff. how much milk do you think your little one are drinking now? S has really cut back this past week. Not sure if it's age now (5 wks till her 1st birthday holy shit Shock). For example, today she had 6oz this morning, 3oz mid afternoon then about 4oz before bed. This is about average now on a daily basis so I'm trying to include more cheese etc to make it up a bit. I'm hoping to have her weighed nxt wk so can speak with HV then. I weighed her on scales this morning just out of curiosity and in 6 wks, she's only put on about 4oz. She is super active though so I'm not surprised by that, just curious!

LittlePebble · 25/08/2012 07:31

Hi Fuzzzy, it varies with E. usually 3x7 or 8oz bottles but some days he'll only drink half of them and others he'll guzzle the lot. He's also a lot bigger than S (DP weighed him this morning at 28lbs! That's 2 stone no wonder my back hurts!

BB3 triathlon??!! On top of three LO's and work? I feel Blush at how little I do in comparison and moan that I'm busy Wink.

Lbm hope you're feeling better this morning? It's so hard sometimes the guilt you can feel being a mummy isn't it x

Tally glad things are better. E does the same with me, a pause, then the recognition. Although if DP and I pick him up together I don't get a look in its all about DP Grin

Bunt ouch!!!! Hope your boobs are ok (never thought I'd write that before I had E!)

M only has 6oz made as porridge for breakfast and 6oz bottle before bed. During the rest of the day he drinks water or weak squash. He often has cheese for lunch with his bread.

M's weght gain is slowing down too, which I think is normal.

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 25/08/2012 09:05

That's great, thanks ladies Smile
I want to cut her afternoon bottle out but everytime I try, typically she wants it or if I make one, she doesn't drink it! Hoping to move to just a cup of milk with snack soon.

We were at my mums last night for dinner with the family so S never went to bed till 10.30 bad mummy and is still sleeping Hmm. I have been awake since 7am Angry

ClimbingPenguin · 25/08/2012 09:43

ouch bunt DS has lip tie, I think that's why he took so long to change his latch when his top teeth came through, but he got there.

as for weight gain, they are called curves for a reason, yes their weight gain (even if following same centile) slows.

I think DS is dropping a feed, he has 6 in 24 hours now. Although he is growth spurting now it seems.

loving :( hope you are feeling better, remember when DS has tonsillitis he didn't bf either so not just a bottle thing.

BuntCadger · 25/08/2012 11:34

fuzzy not idea how much milk J has but nurse 5x a day, first thing, nap time x 2, bedtime and dream feed.

Awful screaming last night. Ended up with Calpol. She sounded like a lion cub and went on for over an hour, same this morning. She's done poo now so hoping it was just tummy.

climbing are they doing anything about lip tie? I red it can affect their teeth, both in terms of decay and also gappiness

ClimbingPenguin · 25/08/2012 12:59

lip tie seems that it can cause problems but if you speak to dentists they say it is really common, depends where it is (there are different degrees depending where it is tied, just like TT) and what problems they are causing. I think it is more difficult to get cut in the UK (in the US there are some dentists that use lasers and no need for a GA). Of course with a tongue tie, they would also need a GA now. From my point of view it causes mild niggles, mostly just get a bit sore every so often, so no reason to do anything. If that changes then something to consider then. At least with their teeth they have a baby set to damage first and time to see.

Scheherezade · 25/08/2012 21:20

Hello all! Sorry have been absent.

Less than one month and C will be 1! He's really almost walking, can't believe S beat us to it Wink but then he did beat her in being born haha. - Can you believe it was almost 1 year ago?!

Like LP sometimes he drinks all, sometimes not. On a morning I make 9oz, what he doesn't drink as morning bottle gets added to porridge. Then 7oz in afternoon, 8oz at night.

He's just wonderful right now, really, really wonderful. Turned 11mo yesterday. Walking round furniture and the walls (he crawls up to the wall, pulls himself up and leans against it to walk round), and the baby walker. Chatting away constantly he points, says "duh" (=dog) "lahl" (=light), claps, waves. He has quite bad separation anxiety, but I just need to learn to be more patient. He's absolutely rapid with his crawling, can make it up the stairs in nanoseconds.

Scheherezade · 25/08/2012 21:21

he usually drinks all the 9oz morning bottle

CheshireDing · 26/08/2012 03:13

Hello, have just read and caught up but cannot remember everything that has happened, sorry :)

DH has been off work on hols and we have been out eating too much cake and coffee doing important stuff Grin. Been a bit stressful as he is a messy bugger and I lost the plot with him last week, had a MAJOR tantrum, then he drove the car in to a tree and it needs over £1,000 worth of work (when my SMP has finished now!). P has made her lip bleed twice by banging it :( Generally I look like a bag of spanners, am knackered and wondering whether I can bleach my teeth as still bf (keep meaning to Google it).

Impressed by the walking babies and teeth :) No teeth AT ALL here still Grin

Cannot believe E weighs 28lbs!!!!! P last week weighed 17\18lb (can't remember which).

Am impressed by the triathlon BB3, how have you managed to get time to practice? I have been swimming on my own once in 2 weeks as am soooo tired by the evenings :(

Have been getting P's nursery stuff together as she has her 2 sessions when we come back from hols, then half a day - will be very odd not having a baby, she starts full days on 17th Sept so am feeling reasured when I have read everyone's posts who are at work and started nursery. DH has to drop off and collect to maybe it will be him who cries Grin

How are the wedding plans going Pebble?

Congratulations, At least there will be some regular decent money coming to you with the job Fuzzzy.

Can't believe that temperature Engels, sounds lovely.

How your boob is okay now Mama.

Climbing should they have diagnosed that earlier or does it not really matter if they don't do anything with it now anyway?

Sorry for everyone I have forgot, back to bed now.

Penelope1980 · 26/08/2012 08:33

oh no re the car cheshire!

MrsHende · 26/08/2012 18:50

Hello!

Chesh, car nightmare! A positive note about nursery - from last Sunday night till Friday evening I only changed two dirty nappies! Every cloud Grin!

We're just home from the OOH doctors. L was sick last night after I put her down, then after lunch today she was sick 5 or 6 times, until it was only bile coming up. We phoned nhs24 and they sent us to the hospital. She's managed to keep down most of the dioralyte the doctor gave us so hopefully she's on the mend.

Hope you and your babes are all well and happy x

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 26/08/2012 19:36

Poor L Sad. Fingers crossed she is on the mend. Always so scary when they are that sick
cheshire Shock at car! I seen your other post in AIBU about DH Grin. Hope things are better now. Sometimes I'm happy I don't share house with messy men.... Although mine and S mess more than makes up for it!

S been up and walking lots today. Still only managing 4/5 steps but is enjoying going back and forwards. We spent afternoon at my parents which was nice.

Hope everyone's had lovely weekend Smile

CheshireDing · 26/08/2012 20:32

Aww poor L, I hope she starts to feel better soon.

I really cannot imagine how scary it must be to have to take a baby to hospital. I know there is no choice and you just get on with it but I have been thinking how brave Ips and Strawberry and Engels and Penguin are when they have been at hospital/referred (hope nobody has been to hospital). They are so tiny, sob, still no baby No2, whinge, moan, Reflexology is obviously not strong enough over bf :( Grin

Fuzzzy Grin at AIBU, he does make me laugh some. It was because I was shouting at him for being a messy bugger that he reversed in to the tree "apparently". Although he did also walk in to the patio door when we lived in Aus and smashed it and that cost about $800 and I was at work so can't be blamed for that, he is clumsy, he reckons not!! Shock He replaced a toilet roll the other day

is she walking with your hand or completely unaided?

Pene what was the name of that book about being a Wife and the Author? Is it a factual type book? That's not the right word, I mean like not a story just like research type thing

I am hoping that as Pene said previously my time with P will be more specific/effective/well spent etc. Think I bore her a bit at the moment and she is bored of her toys :( Mummy is uncool.

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 26/08/2012 20:45

chesh she is walking very well holding just my one hand but is managing the 4/5 steps completely on her own. I'll try video her tomorrow and post on the fb page.
I had a feeling of guilt this week at not doing enough with her. My friend runs an arts and crafts class for babies on a Monday so we are starting back that this week and on Saturday we are trying out baby sing and sign with mrsh. Think it's her friend who runs that. I also took her swimming last week for the first time in months do hoping to start that again. I'm just thinking we will get out more when she is proper walking around. Trips to the park will be more fun rather than just going from buggy to swing etc.
Sorry to hear the ttc isn't going as planned. Do you hope to just continue bf or are you giving it to a certain time then stopping in the hopes of helping with the ttc? So many of my friends are recently pregnant, it's making me really broody for a newborn again Grin. I feel like this first year with S has went soooo fast!! Would love to go back to those first few days/weeks again Sad

Penelope1980 · 26/08/2012 21:22

cheshire it's called half a wife by Gabby Hinslof (sp?) and she was a journalist before getting pg so based the book on loads of interviews.

Mrs your poor baby! That must be tough

We started swimming lessons yesterday and I really liked it - A was a bit overwhelmed, but smiled toward the end which I took as a good sign. He loves the water though hence the lessons, and they are quite well run and more than I could do myself which makes me feel like am not totally wasting money (and can convince a skeptical DH to continue them!)

strawberrypenguin · 26/08/2012 22:18

fuzzzy congrats on the job :)

mrsH hope L is better soon, poor baby x

chesh fx for your no2 soon.

strawberrypenguin · 26/08/2012 22:19

Oh forgot to say we had tooth no 2 appear today! That's both bottom front now :)

TallyBear · 27/08/2012 20:26

Quiet today...

Seb is 10 months old. Can't believe it.

We went to Hove for the weekend to see my grandpa and step-gran and he waved for the first time at grandpa! Everyone got really excited.
His appetite seems to have rocketed as well. Not sure if it was the sea air or the slightly belated influence of seeing other little 'uns eat.

BuntCadger · 27/08/2012 20:35

cheshire I have PCOS and needed some fertility help for ds2, but because I was still bfing when ttc Jessica there was a limit to what I could take. Because of my PCOS I have irregular periods and my periods haven't yet come back since having Jessica. With the ttc we just had sex every other day and managed to fall pregnant twice. 1st was very early miscarriage and quickly followed by Jessica. I just wanted to offer some hope Smile.

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 27/08/2012 22:43

My poor girls burning up big time Sad. Been very unsettled since she went to bed. Peaked in to check and she was toasting! My mums away on a mad dash now to catch the chemist before it closes for ibuprofen. Typically I only have calpol here which isn't helping Sad

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 27/08/2012 23:43

My mum just made the chemist 5 mins before closing!! Ibuprofen has been givin, temp now back down to 37.6 and we are snuggled up in bed. Not letting her out my sight now Smile

ClimbingPenguin · 28/08/2012 08:25

How are all the poorlies?

I ran 3 miles yesterday :)

typically after blogging that Lewis was great to feed I feel his slight latch issues are now getting to me. Been looking up lip tie further and want to investigate PTT as it have some impact on his teeth. Off to a BF cafe in the week sometime as I think there is a few latch techniques that can help and it's always nicer to be shown these things I think.

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 28/08/2012 09:00

I can feel a tooth!! 3 days shy of 11 months and S has her first tooth! Explains the temp lady night Grin

Well done on the run and good luck with the latch issues!

BB3 · 28/08/2012 11:10

Hey ladies

Sorry to hear the babies are poorly!

Fuzz, well done on the job and keep up the applications and yay for teeth.
I don't do that much organised stuff with the kids !

Did everyone have a nice weekend? I went away with some friends and core blimey the kids were like a holiday compared to two days and nights with a group of girls!! :)
