Do any of the other babies grind their teeth? Sounds awful.

TallyBear · 27/07/2012 21:47

We've got sailing tickets for Monday - looking forward to walking around for 6 hours in the rain, sandwiched between hours of traffic jams. Joy!

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 27/07/2012 22:15

This is brilliant!!! So proud to be British tonight GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

Mamamaiasaura · 27/07/2012 22:26

tally yup J grates her top and bottom... I shudder everytime

CheshireDing · 27/07/2012 23:34

we have no teeth to grind.

lovinbeingmum · 28/07/2012 00:44

Fuzzzy absolutely!!! loving the 'rock show'! :) tho' wish R was old enough to enjoy it....his first Olympics and in his city :)

Outnumbered4to1 · 28/07/2012 01:25

Very excited to watch the ceremony when I get the chance - I heard it was excellent! Excited to show the kids what GB is all about!

I am currently cooking dinner with Leo asleep strapped to my back - at almost 5.30 pm this does not bode well! Tonight we are going to try wean most of the night feeds, from average 4 to 1 - eek!

Penelope1980 · 28/07/2012 04:26

I thought the opening ceremony was fab! Certainly the best of British - and was a good reminder to us on the other side of the world how much of our pop culture comes from the UK, rather than the USA. Am a little surprised by all the negative posts about it on other threads. I always get a buzz to see the Kiwis as well even though there weren't so many this time Grin

MrsHende · 28/07/2012 07:59

Argh! Poo on the carpet incident! I had her nappy free and sitting on a disposable changing mat this morning. I looked away for a second and she's bum shuffled forward leaving a trail behind her, none of it on the mat. Yuck!

(Shhhh...don't tell DH Wink)

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 28/07/2012 08:16

mrsh oh dear! S tends to have poo mid morning then late afternoon so I avoid these times for nappy free!! Hope you get out carpet, m&s carpet stain remover spray is brilliant Wink
lbm there must be such a buzz in London right now. Wish I'd booked flights down to see family who stay in purely. I want to pick up some little souvenirs to add to her memory box. Have you tickets to see anything?
Had a really difficult day with S yesterday. She hadn't napped well Thursday, so had bad sleep thur night and yesterday she was a mess from being up so early! Got her down for nap but was awake after 20 mins. She just cried and cried, tried to stand/crawl etc but kept falling as she had no energy so would then just scream! I put some gel on her gums just incase as her teeth are right at top now so might break through soon. We cuddled up on couch and she dozed off on me for over an hour which was a relief! Woke up in a much better mood!
4to1 how did last night go? Hope not to stressful Smile

Rain is back here Sad

MrsHende · 28/07/2012 08:23

Thanks Fuzzz, I've got a brown rug, phew Wink!

Sounds like a tough day yesterday, we've had a few of those recently, hurry up pesky teeth!

4to1, hope the night weaning went ok, we're starting tonight...

Right, off to the farmers market this morning and the Merchant City Festival this afternoon. Go away rain please!

Mamamaiasaura · 28/07/2012 08:41

Had J weighed for first time in 3 months and she's 20lb14 9.5kg so she's got a while left in current carseat.

out how did night weaning go?

Watched opening ceremony last night so am tired now. Off to a party this morning princesses and pirates.. J has pretty dress with a pirate headscarf Grin samuel not yet in pirate gear.. And will likely only wear for a few seconds before stripping it off.

strawberrypenguin · 28/07/2012 10:51

out hope the night weaning went ok

mama pirates and princesses sounds great!

Agree the opening ceremony was great (although I did admit defeat at midnight and went to bed) really great show Smile

strawberrypenguin · 28/07/2012 11:01

Oooh we have a Torch Grin

Engelsmeisje · 28/07/2012 11:39

had rain here too last night fuzzzy (and thunder and lightning!).

Feeling very lazy today after such a late night (I am such an old lady!). M started crying at 6am..far too early for me - changed him and put him back in bed and managed a few hours more sleep.

How amazing was the opening last night?! Wow!

mrsH ew!

mama I can't wait until M is old enough for pirate parties Grin

Outnumbered4to1 · 28/07/2012 14:45

Well that was great from my perspective. DH went to L for each wake up and settled him as best he could. Then at 1am I fed him, then same again until 6 when I fed him and got up for the day. I had ear plugs in but it can't have been too bad as I would have heard through them.

Don't know how many times L was up as DH isn't one for keeping track. I'm hoping he will do it again tonight as its te weekend and then I will take over and hopefully he'll be getting used to it by then.

I saw a bit of the ceremony with ds1 who was born in England - we loved it. I was in tears a bit, made me homesick!

lovinbeingmum · 28/07/2012 21:42

fuzzzy it is kinda exciting being in London right now and I'm close to one of the venues so keep seeing all the movement from my window. But that is as close as I've got to watching the games live. When the tickets came on sale, we were all halfway through pregnancy and I didn't think I'd be able to go to the games with a baby. Wish I had just bought the tickets tho' honestly I quite like watching the games from the comfort of my couch

ips hope the eating is getting better...

now a question from someone who is very lost. Pls don't think I'm totally obsessed with R's food but...I thought he was just a fussy eater. However now he is dropping off in weight as well. It's just not pleasant when everyone I meet has their first comment as 'oh, he's lost so much weight' Sad...so really need some help with what is the quantity these babies eat. I know every baby is different but as an average.....it used to be so much easier to quantify with milk ....

R's day - taking today as an example

7am - 4 ounces of milk
8:30am - half a pancake; cereal and fruit pushed away. 20ml or so of milk from a beaker
12:00 - 60ml of chicken cooked with yoghurt and tomatoes; half a piece of mama's banana bread; 4 ounces of water
3:00pm - 30ml of milk, few blueberries
5:00pm - mix of a pear, juice of an orange and 2 tsps of cereal
7:30pm - 4 ounces of milk

Inputs anyone........

ipswichwitch · 28/07/2012 22:03

lovin that's probably a similar quantity of food to what N eats on a normal day. He has eaten more on a few days but not today as he's teething. I've no idea on quantity of milk as we bf, but he does feed fairly frequently. All we're doing is offering at all meals, trying to eat with him too, and plenty of snacks. The dietician we saw when he was in hospital this week said we're doing everything right, she just recommended using butter on toast and adding some cream to his cereal just to get a bit more fat in him. I know it's awful when all people comment on is how small they are/how much weight they've lost. It gets us down too especially when he's having a fussy day and won't eat much. Just try and ignore, you're doing fine and we'll get there. Fwiw, Dbro was a rubbish eater as a baby but from age 7 ate everything in sight. Now I'm the picky one!!
Hope that helps.

We're attempting night weaning here too. Well, between 12 and 5 anyway. That was his routine before he got gastro, and im getting to the point where I can't cope with 1-2hourly wakings anymore. Hope we have good results like you out, DP very sceptical already and we've not even started.

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 28/07/2012 22:27

lbm I forget, when was R born? I say as I know there is about 2 months of a difference in age of babies on thread, with BB3 girls being oldest and I think mrsh L being youngest (although may be wrong here!) so I guess quantity can be different. I'll list what S has ate today:

8am - 7oz milk
9am - weetabix with about 2oz cows milk, about 2 heaped tbsp of raspberry yogurt.
11.30am - handful of raisins
(I started to make banana bread now so she could have some for lunch)
1.30ish - slice of banana bread and some black current dried fruit pieces
3.30 - 6oz milk
5.30pm - ladle of lentil soup and 1/2 slice of bread to dip in, fruit pot for after
7pm - 7oz milk

I'm finding she likes to graze on food through the day rather than 3 meals IYSWIM? Are you using full fat cows milk in cooking/cereal etc? I guess the weight gain will halt as they start moving and using more energy

Scheherezade · 28/07/2012 23:12

C is a week older than fuzzzy 's S and ways about the same-

6.30-7am 7oz milk
9am 1/4 mug porridge oats with 2oz formula and 3oz full fat cows milk
11am Rice cakes
12.30 Sandwich (sardines and tomatoes or Philadelphia and sweetcorn). Fruit
2-3pm 7oz bottle
5pm dinner
7-8pm 7oz bottle

He sleeps 7-7 every night, was born 24/09.

Scheherezade · 28/07/2012 23:13

Forgot to add, he has a whole banana with breakfast and fruit after dinner, maybe natural yoghurt if I have it in.

Scheherezade · 28/07/2012 23:15

Lunch can also be jacket potato or pasta. I try to have 2 main meals a day, but only 1 serving of.wheat.

Scheherezade · 28/07/2012 23:22

Oops sorry on phone so multiple posts. He also has a little of what I have, a couple sips water with each meal. He's 75th centile for weight and 91st height so HV thinks his diet is 'perfect'.

If he doesn't have all his afternoon bottle I usually make it into a white.sauce to go with salmon and broccoli.

If it were me I'd be encouraging less water and more milk, but that may not be correct.

strawberrypenguin · 28/07/2012 23:53

lovin in terms of food that sounds similar to what W has more or less. Think (and my maths may be off so do feel free to check) that it sounds like you may be a little down in terms of milk. FF babies should at this stage have around 500ml a day (I think if they have less they recommend a vitamin supliment but you'd have to check that) W has around between 3 and 4 six oz bottles and some watered down juice at lunch as his daily liquid intake.

strawberrypenguin · 28/07/2012 23:54

ips hope you had a nice evening out , what did you think of Batman?
