Yay for first word Ipswich :)

I don't know how to put stuff on ebay Mama I just tell DH what I want to sell as I can't really be arsed sitting there doing it, impressed you sold concrete flags!!!!!! Grin

Even though I always said it wouldn't happen I fear my house is being taken over by plastic baby tat :( I am not too impressed about the lack of nice wooden toys for them at this age. I think P is getting bored with her current stuff so ordered her some new things last night but yep it's all plastic, unfortunatley it seems the lights and noises/rattle things that she really loves are all plastic. I am living in hope of the nice (quiet) wooden jigsaws of the future!! Grin Although one of the new toys done plays classical music Grin

I know this has been asked before but as they are now older I am wondering whether I am playing with P enough (which is the complete opposite from the early days when I probably harrased her too much!). She plays on her mats and crawls around etc so then I tend to leave her unless she cries/looks at me/comes over. I keep interspersing it with going and playing with her but I wonder whether I shoudl leave her alone more/less. Confused!

Who's meeting for coffee?? And where??? And I want a MN meet up too Envy Anyone vaguely south east/london?

Sorry for having been away for a while. We've had colds and lack of sleep and the last few weeks of term are always so busy. Ds2 is moving schools in Sept so have all new uniform and stationery to buy. He's had some trouble at school so spent a lot of time there last week talking to teachers and the head... Hopefully things will get better now.

I don't know about the plane thing but am interested. We're flying in four weeks and ds2 was 3yo before we flew for the first time, so I've no idea what it'll be like for a baby. Thankfully it's only a short flight to S France but still nervous.

sassy whay are you going to jail?
ips hooray for first word! It's sod's law that these things always seem to happen to someone else first! Before long you won't be able to shut him up, and you'll yearn for the babbling rather than the constant answering back Grin
over Sad for face plant. I'm sure he's forgotten all about it by now! E fell over backwards and slammed the back of his head on the floor this morning and I still feel terrible about it, he's fine though!
Ches there is not a lot of interesting wood stuff, is there? Have you one of those tracks where you put the wooden wheelie insect thing at the top and it sort of bends itself along and down the track to the bottom? Ds1 loved those. Much as wooden stuff looks great, little ones just love the noise and lights, how can you deprive them ? Wink
Can't remember who it was now but E does the slime full on face kiss/eating thing. I love it, in spite of beinf covered by dribble every time!
Eating a but more here, but he's more interested in the spoon now than the finger food though he did steal a handful of stir fry off dh's plate last night which was very amusing! I think there's another tooth at the bottom on the way. But still now cralwing or standing. He's getting a bit frustrated I think as he's desperate to follow his big brother around but can't! He met a dog for the first time this morning, friend's little black lab, and was besotted. I think my parent's dog is in for a surprise this summer!

sassy34264 · 25/06/2012 15:13

sorry too tired and down to write it out, easier to just link. skip it if you want- Smile

eva purses her lips cos she copies me and she leans in and i keep still. i'll see if i can get it on video.

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 25/06/2012 16:02

sassy that sounds awful!! Shock

MamaMaiasaura · 25/06/2012 16:17

Another injured one. Bump courtesy of table ad Jessica's head saying hello.

MamaMaiasaura · 25/06/2012 16:23

sassy Sad just read up on your link. What an awful situation to be in. I hope they see sense. Sad

lookout · 25/06/2012 17:39

sassy will read in a minute but just popped on for advice quickly.

E has been crying for an hour, non-stop, which is completely out of character for him. No temp, could be teeth, but he's really not himself. What do I do?? (Sorry for all those whose babies cry regularly, I must sound like an idiot, but he really doesn't cry a lot and all the things that normally calm him down aren't working Sad)

emmazed · 25/06/2012 18:00

That really is awful sassy I hope the court sees sense soon. X

MamaMaiasaura · 25/06/2012 19:08

lookout sorry only just popped back, how is he now?

LittlePebble · 25/06/2012 19:13

lookout Eli isn't really a crier but we had lots of crying just before he became ill. I'd try calpol and see if that makes a difference if you've fed/ changed him.

sassy so sorry you're not being listened to, it must be so frustrating getting pushed from official to official none of whom know your DD or XP. Hope you find someone to listen to you.

emmazed · 25/06/2012 19:17

lookout I would try calpol too. If it doesn't work what is the harm, a tiny bit of paracetamol? As with eli, J also isn't a crier unless he is unwell so it may be worth a try

Good luck!

lookout · 25/06/2012 19:33

sassy have just read all your threads, and feel terrible for you. What a horrible situation and a difficult man. I hate legal bureucracy in general (my brother's case was a shambles) and it seems you are being ignored or at the very least they're making a hard situation worse. Are you getting some good advice from someone/where?

Thanks for the advice about E. We gave him a bath cos that always cheers him up and hey presto, he perked up, but as soon as we got him out he was started screaming again. So we gave him calpol, he finally took the boob and fell asleep. It's awful hearing him cry like that cos it's so rare! He has had a cold for the last week or so and I thought it was getting better. I'm hoping it's teeth and not something more serious.

CheshireDing · 25/06/2012 19:37

Lookout I guess if he has been crying for so long it must be something like teeth so if calpol will calm and relax him that's probably a good idea. What about some Nelsons Teething Powder for the future? I keep a couple of sachets in P's change bag too as I imagine they could come in useful.

Still all gums here, not a sniff of a peggy in sight.

Off to read Sassys link now.

Overreactionoftheweek · 25/06/2012 19:47

Oh sassy that sounds bloody awful :( poor you and your daughter. You need four lovely weeks in Italy!

lookout, hope E is ok. I'm in Berkshire if that's anywhere near you?

H has one skinned nostril from his dive off the sofa earlier, but is absolutely fine...in fact, he's been lovely today, even during my optician's appt that dragged on forever.

Very jealous of all the slobbery kisses, H actually turns his head away when we kiss him! Or he tries to eat our faces Hmm

ches my house is overrun with multi coloured plastic complete with lights and annoying songs! Don't think we have one wooden toy! I love the wooden trains for when he's older tho...bit pricey mind.

lookout · 25/06/2012 19:56

over I'm in South Bucks Grin. We can have our very own mini MN meet up . Are you near Windsor?

I think the face eating is an attempt at kissing. At least that's what I tell myself! And we got a lovely wooden train set from ELC at half the price of the Brio ones. One side is for trains and the other for cars and it has loads of stuff to build villages around the tracks/roads. Ds1 was never that interested sadly but there's hope for ds2 now!

Hope H's nostril gets better soon!

sassy34264 · 25/06/2012 20:01

thanks everyone. i didnt expect you all to read it, esp those that had to read both threads as they werent here before. you're all great Thanks

ive just spent about an hour and a half cleaning bathroom and arrempting to tidy ours (not too bad now) and babies (still a fecking tip) rooms and my bloody back has gone.

sat on sofa groaning with each throb. said i could kill for some coke. dp just offered to get me some. and he bullshitted me that the babies room looks much better. Grin

he IS getting in my good books lately Wink

hoing to pour a vodka to wash the paracetmols down with- sod it.

lookout in my experience my children only cry badly for one reason and thats trapped wind. teething is not something we experience in this house! they all just have a rubbish digestion system, like me.

hope he is better now. x

sassy34264 · 25/06/2012 20:06

over sorry about h's fall. its always worse when there is a scar to it. eva has had a black eye already.

hope he heals soon. x

Overreactionoftheweek · 25/06/2012 20:09

Oooh I am near Windsor...this is very exciting! I'm up for a mini meet up! And thanks for the tip about the ELC train set, shall investigate.

Hope the vodka (and painkillers!) help sassy my dh has been sent out to get Chinese - the post pregnancy diet is going really well here Wink

sassy34264 · 25/06/2012 20:50

we have loads of wooden toys. and plastic tat too! was going to say that elc do lots of wooden stuff. i bought dd1 her wooden dolls house from there years ago. it wasnt too expensive and then you just had to buy each room in a pack. and the dolls too. wish id kept it.

over same here. i need my ass to meet a foot over my post pregnancy diet.

actually i do have some good news. i decided to shelf the idea of going back to my old tri club as it just wasnt happening. its just too far now we have moved towns.

ive looked previously and there wasnt a tri club in my new town, but i know there is one on the outskirts of a different town, that ajoins my town iyswim?

decided to look for it on internet and my town now has a tri team that started may 2012. bit of look there! rang the secretary and im going for my first session this thursday. told dp i dont care how many hours away he is with a work job, he has to come home thurs night. soo excited.

been to the gym twice over the weekend in preparation and ran 2 miles the 1st time and 3 miles the 2nd time.
think they might be shocked at how well a fat girl can run. hehehe.

sassy34264 · 25/06/2012 20:57

god, just ignore all my spelling, grammer typos- im worse than usual!

its bad enough i dont bother with aprostrophes and capitals because im always on my phone. i do know the difference between look and luck, their there and they're etc but i type faster than my dumb brain can keep up!

sassy34264 · 25/06/2012 20:58

grammar! argh

CheshireDing · 25/06/2012 23:00

Sassy I hope you mean Coca Cola, Scheh and I ain't meeting no coke head Grin, have read the thread and you're ex sounds like a wanker, sorry must be very stressful at the moment.

Outnumbered4to1 · 25/06/2012 23:05

sassy sorry to read about your ex and all trouble re contact with dd. Italy will be a welcome break for you all. Pleased and a tiny bit jealous about the tri club. I started with a personal trainer last week and she's helping with my various weaknesses, hoping to do swim / bike / run for cardio and then... Who knows...

Started pupd for sleep training today after things have been getting steadily worse. Took 30 mins for first nap and 15 for second. Fx for tonight!

(Jnice)

Scheherezade · 25/06/2012 23:17

bloody hell outnumbered I feel chuffed if I take a gentle stroll round the village a couple times a week.......

sassy34264 · 25/06/2012 23:48

cheshire i was going to put cola to stop any speculation but i assumed you were all so lovely you wouldnt have any knowledge of coke.

there's always one rough un!

Grin

[outnumbered] brilliant to the personal trainer and the sleep training. fxed to for you.

ps. cheshire you ok meeting a vodka queen? Wink
