Tried to post on the original thread and my post got rejected as its full! Have copied and pasted below....

Congrats on the job offer ttl...hope the other one comes up trumps for you too.

Dd isn't quite crawling yet, but would very much like to. She is the queen of the Klingons at the moment, and has a meltdown the second I put her down, look in the opposite direction, or if someone else so much as looks at her. Not all the time thankfully, but definitely for part of every day.

On the bf thing, it's so personal.....I've just dropped doing the afternoon feed myself be cause dd is so distractible that she bobs on and off, which I don't like around other people, and now she finally has teeth the constant latch on/off was really hurting. I just bf once a day, our morning snuggle when she's nice and calm. I would be sad to give that one up just yet.

CuriosityColaKilledTheCat · 15/10/2012 10:03

Ah, this is the same problem we were having. I shortened the morning one by taking him for a walk in the buggy (only tends to nap for 30 mins). Then was trying to encourage a longer afternoon nap, but he would only have another 30 mins and want his bed at half 5. Very annoying.

Will check out those buggies. I think I have seen and admired the first one. I like parent facing seats too. Though ds is happier facing out. Smile

fraktion · 15/10/2012 11:00

I am hoping we won't need a double. Although I do have a silver cross carriage pram I can put a toddler seat on!

I love our city mini single though, so a double might not be bad and we already have the carrycot.

CuriosityColaKilledTheCat · 15/10/2012 15:34

I'm loving the look and style of both of these. I might need something sturdier to cope with Edinburgh pavements though. Does the city mini have any suspension Frak? My oyster is a dream at the shopping centre and for getting on buses. It was really bumpy for a newborn in the carrycot and tipped easily.

CuriosityColaKilledTheCat · 15/10/2012 19:40

Both the jsing grads and the June bus are creating Facebook groups. To join or not to join. What are the chances of me knowing someone?! Grin

fraktion · 15/10/2012 19:54

That wigs me out a bit. April 2011 have a group but only after thy were all born and we'd been chatting for nearly a year.

I wouldn't do it with random strangers, but then if you don't and everyone else does it's a bit isolating.

vallinnapod · 15/10/2012 20:33

I'd do FB with you guys (no sort of hint there!) but as Frak said, only as we have chatted for so long - and continue to do so. There is something to be said for complete anonymity and the ability to post totally honestly.

So turns out DS has had a roto virus - noro like, the side effect of which can be lactose intolerance. This was something the doc mentioned before I fessed up to the cornetto incident...The amusing outcome of this meeting was her opinion that diaoralyte was vile and we should give him crushed up ice lolly! DS then proceeded to eat pretty much a whole (uncrushed) Calippo. We are off dairy for the week. For a baby that eats cheese, cheese, cheese, cereal, cheese, yoghurt and cheese this is a big deal Confused. I am just glad he is at nursery or he may be living off toast!

CuriosityColaKilledTheCat · 15/10/2012 22:33

Hee hee, dh went to let ds try a calippo in the summer. He managed to lock onto it and drink all the juice from it and take a massive bite...with no teeth. I thought it was hilarious. Dh was not impressed as the melted part is the best bit supposedly.

Sorry your son has been so poorly. It's horrible seeing them poorly. Hope he manages the cheese ration without complaining to you too much this week.

My ds hates cheese in any shape or form. He apparently hates sleep again tonight too. If I hadn't given birth to him and had him handed straight to me I would question us being related. Grin

CuriosityColaKilledTheCat · 16/10/2012 00:14

Ds went to bed at 7pm. Woke up at half nine and still isn't sleeping. Doesn't want to sleep in cot or co-sleep. Dh and I would take either option. He just wants to stare into space while being rocked and screams if he is taken near his cot Sad.

vallinnapod · 16/10/2012 09:30

Oh CC...DS no longer tolerates co-sleeping, except these past few nights when he has been so poorly he has slept on my chest. I have to Blush as it has been rather nice BlushBlush.

Maybe teeth? I cannot believe the prolonged agony DS's molars are causing me him. He must have been teething them for 3 months now. They are very obviously bulging under his gums but still no sign of breaking through.

CuriosityColaKilledTheCat · 16/10/2012 10:22

I think it must be his teeth. It's like the 4 month sleep regression all over again, but I don't think there is one due around now?

How is your little one today Val? Don't be Blush. I love a sleepy baby cuddle. Smile

nickeldaisical · 16/10/2012 13:35

we're not eating dairy, either.
well, we've cut out cow's...

CuriosityColaKilledTheCat · 16/10/2012 14:38

Were you having problems with it Nickel?

After all the fuss in the media: I used to have the tv on the house while ds was playing. He was never bothered by it so I liked sneakily watching the odd programme in the back ground. In the last week he has just decided it's amazing and goes in a little daze if its on. Might have to invest in a radio as I don't like silence. Sad

Currently have a pork shoulder slow cooking in the oven. Hoping it turns out like American restaurant style pulled pork. Yum!

Ds has spent most of the day walking around in his (bottomless) pop up tent. I do worry about him sometimes.

The weather here is rubbish...can you tell I'm bored?! Grin

P.s. esk are you jsing?

Eskarina · 16/10/2012 16:04

Hm, well I suppose we are. DH certainly wants to recreate the frequency that was ttc last time get going. I'm still undecided, though as we haven't used contraception this month and I seem to have ovvd early it may be too late to go back on that decision. The only thing stopping me is work - I'm 6 weeks into a new job (though would keep mat pay as is with same council) and it seems mean to only do a year and bugger off again.
Dh's point is that it'll be better in the long term because we're only having two so it gets it over and done with quicker!

CuriosityColaKilledTheCat · 16/10/2012 16:14

When will you be due to piar? My dh is feeling a bit cheated as it happened so quickly Grin

FeijoaVodkaSpiritsnGhosts · 16/10/2012 16:37

It's very very hard to read with a pair of bouncy children on my knee. So apologies for skipping all the double buggy talk.

Lovely to see you back Frak Grin. Fingers crossed for a BFP for you (because we need another Labour Off GrinGrin). How did Le Grand move go? are you all settled in now?

I did make it to she sling meet CC and they are a lovely bunch of ladies and babies. I did raise a laugh when I said I had tried to get a friend to come along, but I don't know her real name. BlushGrin Can't blame you for having a pj day. teething is pants and the weather was rotten until mid afternoon.

My Due in June group has a fb group. We didnt start it til after the babies were born and we'd all been talking for ages. It was a bit weird at first, but now we are all good friends and it's so nice seeing pics of all the cutie little babies (only they aren't little babies anymore Shock!). I struggle to remember their MN names now too.

nickeldaisical · 16/10/2012 16:54

CC - dunno, but we were trying to work out if it made her eczema worse.

CuriosityColaKilledTheCat · 16/10/2012 18:33

Nickel where is your Halloween name?

How is your daughter? Is her skin still bothering her a lot?

Fvp - glad you had a good time. Was there a good turn out?

Ds finally slept for an hour in his cot last night before deciding he did want to sleep like a star between dh and I. We are shattered, he doesn't seem bothered by the lack of sleep.

That reminds me. Have you all seen the thread in sleep? Someone has invented the term Baby Led Sleeping. Cheered me up no end Grin

Eskarina · 16/10/2012 18:57

Not for ages, I'm only on about day 12 but js on Friday and have had loads of pant snot ever since so now am convinced that I've ov'd...
Still, I don't know that I'm ready for another yet

OP posts:
CuriosityColaKilledTheCat · 17/10/2012 09:23

I won't go throwing baby dust at you just yet then....I could hardly even bring myself to type that. Grin

I have to say, dh and I discussed (night before pg test) if bfn this month, then we would leave a large gap before trying again. Probably when ds was 3 or 4.

Ds slept from 7pm until 5am this morning. Pulled him in with me and he then slept until 7am!!!! Amazing GrinGrinGrinGrin

nickeldaisical · 17/10/2012 12:03

Baby Led Sleeping Grin
we do that!

CC haven't even thought of a hallowe'en name.
RL is stressing enough because madam takes all my time!
I have been trying to plan my window for about a month!

Eskarina · 17/10/2012 16:22

Do you mind me asking why that is cc? I like the idea of a 2-ish year gap and would be keen for dc2 were it not for the new job. Am coming round to the idea. If it's not now we'll be aiming for march 2014 onwards for a 2.5 year gap. We're only having 2 and I think keeping them close together will mean I can focus on being mummy whilst they're small but then get back to work more as they get older - at least with being a teacher I'll always be around in the holidays.

Nickel how's dd's sleep nowadays? Hope you get some calm and some headspace to do what you need to do sometime soon.

OP posts:
nickeldaisical · 17/10/2012 16:43

i think the sleep's getting better- not saying so in case i jinx it!

we went to bed last night at 10ish and she was proper awake (normally she's starting to cry tired/rub etc from 9 ish).
she did get straight onto the boob when I got her into bed, though, so that's good.
but then she was awake from 5 ish when DH got up to 7ish (i had to put the telly on for me!)

vallinnapod · 17/10/2012 22:06

glad the sleep is improving a bit nickel

Our night terrors are back Sad had one last night and just had another. Poor little thing.

Esk I know you we're asking CC but if I knew I could get pregnant relatively easily I would wait at least another year. For me it is because DS seems only a baby himself I don't want to have to share myself with anyone else other than him Blush I feel when he is a little older he will just need me a bit less. That said he is making me Sad at the moment as Daddy is the only one he wants Sad

Also seriously considering going down to 3 days at work. Really loving my new job but just heartbreaking not being with DS. Am going to try and make it to Christmas and then see but would have to give 8 weeks notice at nursery after the decision too. You really can't have it all.

Dynababy · 18/10/2012 07:35

Hi all... I haven't been on here in like...... Forever... Not sure if I posted much after DS's birth story!!! Life got very hectic as DS allergic to ALOT of food including milk which he was getting via my breast milk as I was eating dairy.. Took a long time to figure out why he wasn't sleeping (pain) and was vomiting and not gaining properly... Now dairy and wheat free (and lots of other random food free) and he is happy healthy 14 month old.. Just took a lot of time and energy to get there! Plus back at work from when he was 6 months as like an idiot I agreed that before he was here! Glad to see everyone so well and sorry for crashing in! Hoping some of you remember me from JS'ing and grads threads! Ps just got a surprise BFP!!!!

CuriosityColaKilledTheCat · 18/10/2012 08:28

Of course I remember you! I think my name still might have been baby2b when you were last here?

Congratulations on your bfp. What is your due date? Mine is 16th June '13.

Sorry to hear you and your little one have had such a hard time with allergies. It's difficult enough in the first few months without more worry.

Esk I wanted a reasonable gap so ds was at nursery (3 years old). I have heard it makes the change easier for them. However, I have two friends who tried to 'time' their second child. One took a year and half to get her bfp. My other friend is still waiting after 2 years and 3 miscarriages. It made me think that the time might not be right, but if I wait I don't know how long it will be when I do try. Hindsight: not very long WinkGrin

Actually quite worried about telling second friend. Not sure how to bring it up. I know she will be ok with me eventually, but I don't think she will appreciate hearing about an easy bfp.
