Thanks Dixiebell, hope you had a nice nap Grin

sassy34264 · 09/11/2012 14:44

How was your 1st day at work new mum?

Good to hear from you Dixie I remember the struggle of being heavily pregnant and having toddlers too well enjoy your maternity leave.

cinnamon glad ds1 is OK.

J+I are enjoying nursery, I've started about 5 new hobbies, sewing machine, cross stitch, tapestry, crocheting and felting! Enjoying the novelty at the minute- it may not last!

And I am finally going out drinking with friends for a day and night sesh!

The last time I did it was Dec 18th 2009!!!

( i remember becaude im 99% sure I conceive twins that night too) Wink

cinnamongreyhound · 09/11/2012 18:01

That all sounds good sassy34264 :) I used to cross stitch but I'm just too tired in the evenings to concentrate now and make too many mistakes! I asked Luke the other day if he'd like to go to school when we picked up one of my little ones and his answer was no stay home with mummy!!!

Beaditsback · 10/11/2012 11:38

sassy and cinnamon here's a gorgeous site full of kits for making your own beautiful masterpieces

Beaditsback · 10/11/2012 11:45

here

cinnamongreyhound · 11/11/2012 19:58

Lovely but pricey beaditaback!! Are you getting busy now with Christmas bits?

Hope everyone is well, ds1 has been tired and a bit whingy but otherwise fine. Luke is a little whirlwind who copies everything he hears!! My foot is getting better, still hurts when I walk but much more bearable and I have run three times in the last week which is great, 11, 20 and today 25 mins :)

lumpypumpkinpie · 12/11/2012 19:14

evening all! what a crazy couple of weeks i've had. the show i was in was fantasic, it was do lovely to do something just for me. going out every night then for drinks after with the cast was great. exhausting tho, and i missed my babies!

tobys still doing well at school and olly has picked up on things and can now read digger, liz, i, toby and olly!!! he knows all his colours, numbers an shapes!

whats everyone getting their los for christmas? tobys sorted but i'm really sttuggling for olly.

Beaditsback · 12/11/2012 22:03

lumpy clearly too busy to name change then Wink
I am a bit stumped for Christmas too but to be honest, in this house we are total meanies and sometimes don't really buy much for Jack. The house is over flowing with great, barely used hand me downs from family and friends that he honestly doesn't need or want for anything. I think some visitors here think its bordering on ridiculous! He is a growing little chap though so needs some new finery to keep him cosy. Might buy some next stuff. We did get some bits from the shop at The Deep to keep for Christmas as their prices are so, so good. Oh..... And Jack stole a toy ostrich from the ELC last week so I reckon he's off Santa's list anyway Grin
Love the nun profile picture! Sounded fab! DH has done a lot of social stuff recently so he owes me big in the new year. Can't take any time out before then as Notonthehighstreet has started to go mental already. Two weeks earlier than last year. I need it though as I have spent every single penny I had on materials to be prepared. You wouldn't believe what a handful of silver costs! [grrrrrrrrrrrrr]

Any ideas on toys for boys that sort of do what a dolls house does but doesn't look quite as girly? Got a garage thingy but he loves opening little doors and hibernating his animals in cars etc etc.......?? Anything with compartments or such like?

Had a tricky day with him today. All started with me totally forgetting about the HV coming and just as we'd bundled Jack and Daisy in the car, excitedly awaiting a trip to Leeds Museum and the German market, she appeared at the door...... So we all bundled out and the rest of the day went downhill from there.
HV was fine though... It did make me laugh when she asked if J could string 2-3 words together though. He never stops..... Not going to be shy like I was as a child I don't think. Grin

lumpy hope you got the link.... Website doesn't do the Christmas event justice.

Oh yeah...... My hands are falling off too! Literally! Doctor told me not to use my fingertip for three weeks. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Right...... I'll stop blabbering on about me now. Sorry if you all got bored Grin

Dixiebell · 12/11/2012 22:28

What about a toy castle or a pirate ship or something similar, beadit? We are the same with Arlo though. Seems pointless buying him presents from us when he'll get loads from others. Last year I got all crafty stuff - glue, paint, play dough etc. I was thinking of getting him a torch this yr, but other than a stocking with a few bits maybe not much else? For bday we got him a little backpack to carry his own toys around in, he loves it.

Feeling v heavily preggers today. Was really looking fwd to day to myself tomorrow to recuperate and cm has cancelled as sick! Argh! sassy you are right is so much hard work entertaining toddler when you can barely stand/ bend over. Even harder with two I'd warrant tho! 38 wks tomorrow. On my nov 12 antenatal thread there have been loads of recent 'just got to hospital in time' '1 hour labour' and even a 'baby fell into the toilet while I was going to the loo' births!!! I do not want it to be so quick that DH doesn't have time to get home from work!

Beaditsback · 12/11/2012 23:03

I've been looking but am struggling to find one the right size that still ticks the boxes. Argos have a cute looking Eco house but it's £90 something pounds. That's just silly!

Have just found this though:
tempted

cinnamongreyhound · 13/11/2012 08:12

It's really hard for us as we have two boys already and Luke plays with their toys and so don't really want two of them. He loves ds1's kung zhu hamsters at the moment so we might get him a new one of those and he also plays with his VTech dinosaurs that change into a car and they now have a big one that you can put the others on so we will be getting him one of these. We have a wooden castle that was dss's that hasn't been out for ages so I might build that now you've mentioned it :)

lumpypumpkinpie · 13/11/2012 19:00

ooh, i'm liking the vtech dino things. we've got him a garage cos he loves cars. toby had the little people one and he's spent hours with that, so we've got him the "fast lane parking garage with 8 cars" from toys r us. (can't do links on mg kindle!)
beady, i'm thinking of a fort/castle for them both next christmas.

patito · 16/11/2012 20:54

Hello

have been away far too long and have no idea whats happening with anybody anymore. I hope your all ok.

Started to try and catch up but een off for so long that I don´t know where to go back to.

beadit what about a farm house instead of a dolls house, we have one and a castle and they both get used as garage/animal cage/house etc. The farm was given second hand so don´t know where it came from.

We´re not buying xmas gifts neither, they have so much stuff already and what they want/need we´ve asked family for.

Maia is killing us at the moment, she wakes up everyday around 6am, but I refuse to get up till 7am and she´s not a happy bunny. She doesn´t nap and goes to sleep around 8:30-9 pm. Surely thats not enough hours?? Im not getting enough sleep so i dont know how she´s managing. Hope this passes soon.

Starting my coming home coutdown! Fly back on the 9th, haven´t been home since March sooooooo looking forward to it.

cinnamongreyhound · 17/11/2012 10:33

Wow that doesn't sound like enough to me patito but I guess if she's fine all day then it must be. I guess kids are like adults and some need less than others. Luke sleeps 8.30-7 and naps 1-3pm but there are others on the thread who are dropping naps. Is your ds at school now?

Beaditsback · 19/11/2012 19:44

Hello Patito Grin are you going to the caves again at Christmas? Sounded brill last year.
Still hunting for a house/castle. I am a bit fussy as toys that size become part of the furniture here as we only have two rooms downstairs. His wooden garage lives on top of his huge vintage wooden toy chest so a house needs to be fairly small. Worth hunting for I think as he likes playing with them at friends' houses

News here is that I am four days late but have had two bfn Sad hoping it's just too early and that they were cheapo Boots own tests so watch this space. Daren't get my hopes up after so long though.

Beaditsback · 19/11/2012 19:51

Oh I forgot to ask........
cinnamon and Newmum and anyone else with tall little ones... Have you got snowsuits and where from??

cinnamongreyhound · 19/11/2012 21:11

Oooh just a bit excited for you beaditsback, I hope it's just too early :). My mum should be ordering a necklace for me soon! Next have snowsuits but they haven't had any in shops so I haven't been able to try one so my mum has got him a coat for Christmas and I'm going to get him some waterproof trousers with braces from h&m which I cant link to because their mobile website is shite!

Beaditsback · 19/11/2012 21:19

I've seen the red Next ones online. Love them but must check the sizing. Also quite reluctant to pay for a new one just for winter use..... Tempted by trousers but none of J's coats are waterproof.... Bad Mummy!

Going to test in the morning as the last tests I did at night...... Also, I did have a very feint second line on each but it really was feint.
Really hope I am [sceptical]

Beaditsback · 19/11/2012 21:21

That would be Hmm ha!

Newmum how is your new job going? Do you get to go on their Christmas do?
Now Dh and I are both self employed we'll have to have our own.

cinnamongreyhound · 19/11/2012 21:25

The next ones I liked have dinosaurs on but if I order them and pay delivery I always feel a bit cheated by it when they can't be bothered to stock their shops well

Debs75 · 19/11/2012 22:47

Just popping in to say I'm still here just really busy with college and Doula training so have almost no spare time to sit and chat. I make it to the boards somedays but not often.
Well Lucy is doing really well, chattering so much now and it is really clear, at last. She wants to potty train as she hates nappies after a painful impaction but she never actually goes on the potty to wee. Getting a nappy on her can take ages.
Right tons more work to do before bed so will try and get on after I have done my exam and sorted 2 presentations out

Beaditsback · 20/11/2012 14:56

Bfp this morning Grin finaaaaaaaaally!
Feel incredibly bloated.... Hoping it's just an early preg sign and not a huge no. Of multiples Smile

cinnamongreyhound · 20/11/2012 16:49

yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

newmum001 · 20/11/2012 17:47

Omg beady congratulations. How exciting!

Noy got a snow suit yet but i saw some in sainsburys and aldi. Cheaper than next but probably not as nice.

Lumpy so glad u enjoyed ur show.

Not much time to post. Had some major dramas recently. I told dp to leave a couple of weeks ago. He went for 4 days but came back and we're going to see how it goes. I'd been so unhappy for so long i just couldn't do it anymore. But like i said we agreed to see what happens so ill just have to ride it out for a while.

I got a kitten!!! His name is Rupert and him and grace are inseperable it's so cute.

I'll pop back soon for a proper update.

cinnamongreyhound · 20/11/2012 18:01

Oh no! So sorry to hear that newmum001, I hope that you both come to the same decision about what's best for you. I've seen your kitten pictures, Grace is so cute with him!!
