pit I think a few days without poo is pretty common in bf babies. And we still have green poo. Decided to stop worrying about it - she's fine in herself.
Oh and is Drive on Netflix streaming? Will have to add to my queue :)

TeaandHobnobs · 29/05/2012 07:21

Hi all!

We've had green poo recently too. I understood that in warmer weather, our bodies make more watery milk (i.e. more foremilk) to keep baby hydrated, hence the green poo?

Off to the hospital for BabyTea's eye test this morning - it's going to be strange going back to SCBU Confused

Yummymummyyobe1 · 29/05/2012 08:08

Harry was a month old at 04:26 this morning and is currently cuddling his cuddly cat. He grabs him and smiles, we think it is because he is soft and black. We have finally nailed the finger/toe nail cutting without protest and also nappy changing is becoming quieter as the weeks go on. (although I suspect this is either the mobile or the Ipod that Harry has commondered to his nursery) xx

newmummyvicky · 29/05/2012 08:19

We have still lots of bright yellow pop here, still very running, she was down to just 1-2 per day now, but with the heat 3-4 times per day. Lots of wet ones!

There are lots of different things you can take while breast feeding for contraception! So don't worry girls!

Does anyone miss being pregnant? I wouldn't said im broody yet, but I do miss my belly! I think ill leave a couple of years gap before next baby.

I'm Hoping the heat isn't too bad today for Lyra, poor thing, she really doesn't like it!

newmummyvicky · 29/05/2012 08:20

I forgot to say welcome home Nordic, glad U have you little girl home :)

newmummyvicky · 29/05/2012 08:21

Yellow poo, I mean bloody phone hehe!

marshmallowpies · 29/05/2012 09:33

We are getting a lot more poos per day since the weather got warmer - all still very yellow though.

Had our first big poosplosion inside the buggy when at the pub on Saturday- luckily we were sat in the pub garden which was empty so none of the other drinkers had to share the experience. DD was wrapped in a muslin inside the buggy so the mess got soaked up by that - no actual poo on buggy, thankfully.

We haven't had sex yet, was waiting for the bleeding to stop which does seem to have happened at last. DH says he feels a bit weird at the thought of doing the deed with DD in the room with us - might have to get her to sleep early one night Hmm and put the Moses basket in the other room...and demand DH comes up to bed!

Lovely to hear all the news & Nordic glad you have the family home at last!

spannermary · 29/05/2012 10:50

Morning all! Regular yellow poo here...but lots of it! He's feeding like a beast as well - although he's 6 weeks old today, so this could be heat + growth spurt...we shall see.

To be fair, he seems to be on a bit of a permanent growth spurt anyway. Wink

My breast pump arrived from Amazon yesterday, so today I will be investigating, and researching. Anyone know the best time of day to pump? I want to minimise the risks of a traumatic virgin pump experience! I'm quite hopeful, though, as I have a very strong supply!

Newmummyvicky I can say without reservation that I do not miss being pregnant! I suppose all our experiences vary, but I had hyperemesis up to 17 weeks, then it took until 7 months to rebuild any stamina, then I was too big to move, and then I got pre-eclampsia and PUPPPS. Being a new mum is SO much easier for me!

Good riddance to my bump! Grin

digitalgirl · 29/05/2012 13:58

Welcome back Nordic!

Ds2 is ebf and poos every other day. Can tell when ones brewing as he does loads of smelly farts in the morning!

No sex here either (despite rather detailed dreams about it) - still not stopped bleeding despite it being 7 weeks in. May pop back to gp's next week when I book ds2's jabs.

My mum is here for the day and has cooked lunch and gone to pick up ds1 from pre-school. Ds2 asleep - don't know what to do with myself!

HollyPockett · 29/05/2012 14:48

Lots of yellow poo here too, with the odd tinge of green now and then! Francesca is def feeding more, up at 2 and 4 last night then slept right through until 9 this morning! she was just in a babygrow last night with no vest and no blanket at thermometer said 26 in our room. I put a thin blanket on her after the 4am feed and think that helped settle her properly. I get so anxious about over heating I forget that she might get cold Confused

Welcome back Nordic hope you're settling back home ok

Ad no sex here either! Want to get my scar checked out first, have 6 week check up next week :)

Pitmountainpony · 30/05/2012 00:01

Spanner- first thing in morning for pumping and apparently at 2 am also but that is a bit more gruelling.Evening is least good time.
Poo explosion today and she is much happier for it.

Oh Drive is a fantastic film- on the edge of my seat brilliant....strange casting of christina hendricks......but a great watch...best film I have seen in a long time.

Are we all in love a little( in an endeared to him rather than lusty way) with Ryan Gosling- he really is the real deal- just such a good actor.

8 week shots this friday for my dd.

Nordic- welcome home that must be a big relief.
We spent the whole day out yesterday in the sun( found shade).....pretty exhausting but Bo slept for 3 hours at the first party which was most helpful so I got to chat and socialise for a change.

Some one gave me a co sleeping cot- wow it is amazing- I sleep so well and do not have to get out of bed to feed her or worry about making sure she is safe upon the bed.I also got given a sheep with a heart beat and it really calms her down during the witching hours each night

Bunsouttheoven · 30/05/2012 03:02

Welcome home nordic bet it feels such a relief. How is your dh's dm? Is all the legal stuff complete now for you?

No sex here either, tummy still too sore from cs, not to mention no time without having baby (or dc) on me.

Yellow poo here but less of them, dd once went 10 days without pooing! All fine but by god it was a relief for us all when it came.

I went shopping yesterday in pursuit of an outfit for a wedding. I always seem to need to go to a wedding just after I've had a baby. Finding something that hides blobby stomach, pasty legs & that I can easily bf in seems tricky. Especially when shopping with a newborn & 3 year old ds in tow. Did get a dress, think it's ok, dp said 'yeah it's ok'. High praise indeed, still he never was one for compliments. Doesn't hide my lily White legs mind, pale & interesting that's me (ha ha).

We had our 6 wk check, all fine with ds. Gp said his sacral dimple was v shallow & ok even though it has a tiny hair tuft in it. He just asked me about contraception. I got a prescription for cerazette. Not sure when I'll start taking it though. I didn't get my period for about 18 months after dcs 1& 2 were born due to bfing.

I always found morning pumping most successful & from the other breast while I fed ds.

What's everyone doing for jubilee wk end. We have a family BBQ to attend. Bit worried, still haven't seen dp's not so darling s since her being nasty about not being allowed to visit IMMEDIATELY after ds was born. (long sentence!) if she or any of dp's family are mean I may strop out, or cry or both. Sleep deprivation is taking it's toll! Yesterday I tried to lock my back door with the lock button on my car keysGrinGrin

JambalayaCodfishPie · 30/05/2012 06:54

Everyone's having sex, including me!Grin Hurrah!

kat1885 · 30/05/2012 07:35

Ds2 slept for 8 hrs last night (10.30 last bottle woke up 6.30) shame ds1 decided 5.30 was getting up time.

Ds2 then had nearly 7oz for his breakfast, making up for not having a middle of the night feed lol.

I'm going to hv clinic today to get him weighed. Wouldn't surprise me if he went up a centile or 2 he loves his milk now.

Flisspaps · 30/05/2012 08:49

I've just been asked if I have DS on solids yet...

justhayley · 30/05/2012 09:07
Sad Had the worst night to date and am at breaking point this morning. Had no more than 15 minutes solid sleep. DS woke constantly making this horrendous grunting straining sound. He did manage to poo at 4am and has done 2 since but the noise hasn't stopped. I thought it was constipation but if he's going it can't be. Have no idea how to make it stop or what it is. Iv got a splitting headache from having no sleep & have been in tears this morning. could really do with someone looking after him for the day - or even a few hours so I can sleep & not have a total breakdown. No idea how I'm going to get through the day Sad
kat1885 · 30/05/2012 10:19

Hayley do you have any friends or family you can ask? Sleep depravation is the worst thing and your night was horrendous. Aaron is a noisy pooer if it's any consilation, it has been especially bad the past few days as it is so hot their stools are not getting as much water as normal.

Fliss - who on earth asked you that and why?!

Bananna1 · 30/05/2012 11:20

JustHayley, sounds like me on Monday, after just the worst night Sunday night. I cried as DH left for work, I was just sooooo tired and just needed some undisturbed sleep. Try and take it easy on yourself today if you don't have any help nearby. Do as little as possible, and rest whenever you can.

If it gives you any hope, my LO then did a really good night the next night, so I was able to catch up on some sleep and felt almost human yesterday. Of course last night he wasn't as good - 2 good nights in a row just too much to hope for at the moment :(

Can't believe how lucky you are Kat1885, I want a full nights sleep...

Matti still on the 9th centile. He is putting on weight, but whereas my girls shot up the centile lines he's sticking to his, and because it's a low percentile I worry. He only feeds from one side each time, for a maximum of 10 minutes, but more like 7 or 8 minutes. I worry it's not enough, but can't force him to take any more, and he really starts to fight being at the breast. But because he's still following the line the HV weren't worried. Just wish he'd feed for longer or do both sides. Any one else have a quick feeder?

Flisspaps · 30/05/2012 11:21

Kat - an acquaintance who popped in this morning. Their DS was weaned early because he was big (smaller than DS), but I've no intention of weaning DS before 6mo, he's thriving on milk so there'd be no need for him to have solids sooner! Besides I don't do purée and he's a bit young for BLW Grin

I just nodded and smiled, no point arguing as her DS is 20-odd now, and she's nice Smile

Flisspaps · 30/05/2012 11:22

Bannana remember, a low centile is still perfectly normal and healthy - a higher number is not a target! Don't worry Smile

spannermary · 30/05/2012 11:36

JustHayley - I feel for you so much. Sleep deprivation is a horrible thing. Can anyone around you help? I hope the little one settles soon. We're all here for you.

Jambalaya - yay!!! I'm still not ready but still soooo ready IYSWIM...Seeing the GP for 6 week check so may go back on the pill today, and then wait for that to kick in. I can't abide condoms...so stinky and unromantic.

The HV came to see us this morning, and little Bill, who was a dinky 7lb 3oz at birth is now a stonking 11lb 2oz at 6 weeks! He's shot up the charts from the 25th centile to the 55th. It's mainly on his belly.... Wink I'm never happy, though, so then asked if it was a worry that he was moving up so rapidly, and eating too much! I knew as I asked that I was being a worry wart, but there you are.

Still, it looks like the feeding he's been doing, and the time on the breast has really paid off. Going to try and express this morning ( I know - there's only 25 minutes of it left!) HV said 'It might already be a bit late' which was not that encouraging, but we shall see.

Also, Bill had a feed at 11-11.15 last night, and then slept through till 5.45am! Amazing! So I'm feeling fairly good today - which is a good way to try and express my first batch, I reckon.

Yummymummyyobe1 · 30/05/2012 11:48

JambalayaCodfishPie no sex here either. Baby Harry is all the contraception DP and I need. I have the feeling he doesn't want to share!!

*Flisspaps I would have said why of course he ate a full five course meal with wine [Wink]

justhayley sounds like some of the nights we have had this end with Harry. Does your LO have colic? As Harry grunted and cried a lot last week and after Infocol and Dr Brown's anti colic bottles this has all but stopped.

Same here Bananna1 Harry is following the 50th centile line and refuses to budge. Saying that last week he gained 6oz so in total in just under a month he has gained 1lbs 6oz (he is eating us out of house and home already.) Smile

spannermary sounds like Bill is doing really well he keeps the same bed time as Harry apart from the slept right through he wakes around 03:00 for a feed and nappy change. We have Harry's 6 week check on the 13th June.

It would seem that boys are hungry little men in general. Going to ask HV is there is anything that we can give Harry as he eats every 1hr or so.

xx

spannermary · 30/05/2012 12:10

Wow - Yummy - is Harry being weighed every week? We haven't had him weighed since 2 weeks. We've known he's been growing and eating well just by observing, and haven't had any additional appointments at the clinic etc - and there aren't any as standard. Although the HV did say we could 'pop in to get him weighed' at any point.

It seems that there are plenty of regional variations regarding health care monitoring!

We don't have a fixed routine/bedtime etc with Bill, but he does tend to do similar things at similar time: right now he's napping, which tends to happen after a morning play/chat. In the afternoon we may go out, and he can ofen nap at some point then, before perking up early evening. We usually try to chill him out between 9/10pm and he may go to bed at that time, or stay downstairs in his cocoon with us, till we go up just before 11. Then we'll change him, and if he's awake, feed him too. We try not to have him fall asleep on us before his night time sleep, as if he does then when he wakes up he can be disorientated. Sometimes it works!

That's as much of a routine as we can deal with, but hey - it works for us. So far. Not completely laissez-faire, but not rigid and structured either. :) (And I'm sure in 2 months it'll be totally different!)

Yummymummyyobe1 · 30/05/2012 13:16

We go to baby clinic every Friday this end. It is the norm here from what I understand. We are going to try and get Harry into a routine from this week as it is suspposed to be good for his early development. He gets up with Mummy and Daddy at 07:00 after his first feed at 05:30 in bed. Then he talks to mummy unti 08:30 before napping for a couple of hours. Feed and bum around 11:00 and playtime with mummy. Time in his big cot/bouncy chair. Then another feed etc. xx

Anybody want to join me in AC (After Child) diet club. I have 7lbs to loose before I am at my BC (before Child) weight. xx
