Merry Christmas! Hope all the ill are better and everyone enjoys chocolate, cheerfulness and cheese.

My girls are still asleep, why sleep in today?! Why am I awake though?

Summer DH left Facebook when his mum joined!

JamInMyWellies · 25/12/2011 09:03

Thank you to my SS brilliant. A book of Essex limericks and the book Go the fuck to sleep. Couldn't be more apt since the fellas got up at 5.30.

Merry Christmas everyone. Xxx

sybilfaulty · 25/12/2011 09:22

Merry Christmas everyone! Been up since 5.30 and drank a bit too much when I was wrapping the presents so feeling a bit delicate. We have opened stockings - hurray - but don't do big presents til later on this am. Kids about to burst!

Hope you all have a lovely day. XXXXX

VagolaJahooli · 25/12/2011 10:25

Merry Christmas from Oz. Have had a lovely relaxing Christmas day. We are at my mums now with my sister & brother. My other brother and his wife (the new one I haven't met) and 3 of my gorgeous nieces and my nephew (who I also haven't met arrive tomorrow. Predictably I ate way too much and feel a bit sick. About to go soothe my tummy by drinking a nice local sparkling shiraz (yes I did say sparkling) and watching crap but endearing Christmas telly. The boys woke early and got a load of present which I have no idea how we will get home.

JB your husband needs a stern talking too.

Oh gotta go, merry Christmas

AwayinaKayzr · 25/12/2011 13:24

Merry Christmas!!!

Thank you to my secret Santa. I got some lovely mum to be bath stuff which smells great.

Hope you're all having good days.

UglyChristmasJumperJockey · 25/12/2011 15:23

Hello all! Merry Christmas everyone :) Thanks very much to my secret santa of a lovely sculpture of an angel teaching a baby to walk - will try and be that patient myself! Meanwhile dh and I got each other the same book :) and we're about to go to the park with the girls' godparents, hopefully before it gets dark!

Big happy birthday wishes also to Eddie, Rosie and Josh, have a lovely day all you big three year olds!

sybilfaulty · 25/12/2011 17:25

Thank you so much to my secret santa for my lovely mug and delicious chocs - fantastic! Had a fabulous day but so tired now. Only 5.30pm! Need to rally for Downton.

poisondwarf · 25/12/2011 20:18

Merry Christmas to all the lovely December 08 mums & families!

Oh and happy birthday to all the littles too.

Will make a new year's resolution to get on here more in 2012.

spotofcheerfulness · 25/12/2011 21:50

Happy Christmas everyone! Hope everyone's pleasantly sozzled by now and necked too many mince pies. Having a v busy but fun time here, off to London tomorrow with the sleep thieves, can't wait to see some old friends again.
Anyone watching Matthew Bourne's Christmas on More 4? There are some very handsome gentlemen around....

Nolda · 26/12/2011 10:25

Eddie says a big thank you to Secret Santa for his Harry and the Dinosaurs book which he loves. He is also enjoying playing with the little wooden men skittle set (not quite as intended but he's having fun!).

Lots of love to everyone. Got to run.

sybilfaulty · 27/12/2011 10:03

Hope everyone had a good Boxing Day. I spent the day in the bathroom being very ill. Everyone else fine so no doubt some sort of bug picked up from somewhere. Still feel awful but at least I am now vertical.

Am going to brave a piece of toast. That should help.

Nolda · 27/12/2011 11:14

Oh dear, Sybil, what a horrible way to spend Boxing Day. Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better today.

DH has taken the children swimming so I can clear up the house a bit and then we are going to hit the shops to find him a new road bike. Needless to say I've not started the tidying and am drinking coffee and playing on the computer Grin.

AwayinaKayzr · 27/12/2011 12:16

Oh Sybs what an awful way to spend Boxing Day. I hope the toast helped.

We have just been shopping for 2 new toy boxes. I must have a big sort out of their old toys soon.

JollyBear · 27/12/2011 19:34

Thank you to my Secret Santa! Lovely bath smellies. Going to run a bath in a mo.

Strangest present of Christmas, a lacy, silky camisole and knicker set from DH's Aunt! Felt inappropriate unwrapping sexy smalls in front of inlaws and associated relatives.

Hope you feel better Sybs.

waitinggirl · 28/12/2011 08:40

3nights in a row of insomnia, last night massive row with DH, both children up in the night, and today is my birthday, the 10th without my mum. Feeling pretty sorry for myself. Sorry, only place I can vent. Ugh

DeidreBarlow · 28/12/2011 11:04

Oh WG I'm so sorry you are so down, and on your birthday too. I don't really have anything to say other than I'm thinking of you, it must be so hard...was the row due to the lack of sleep? It never helps. I really hope you can enjoy some of your birthday x

I hope everyone else has enjoyed the festivities? The DC's are now going crazy from too much sugar/late nights/presents etc etc. Off to take them out to the park for some long overdue fresh air & exercise. That is if i can get the car to start, the battery is buggered.

TTFN x

Indith · 28/12/2011 15:06

Hope everyone has had a good Christmas in spite of any bugs and vomit.

WG sorry you are feeling down. Hope things improve later and you still have a good birthday.

We are relative free until January. Woohoo! Has been good but manic and dcs definitely need to get back to normal now. Dd's sleep has been spectacularly bad and ds is throwing tantrums every 5 minutes. New toys everywhere, need to work out how best to store them all! We were going ot get some storage for their bedroom as their christmas present but decided to leave it, regretting that now! Need to get house back in order then get cracking on stuff in the loft so everything is ready for February Is it too late to change my mind about having another one?

Do we have to wait until January to send them back to school? Do you think anyone would be around if I dropped ds off there tomorrow?

Beans36 · 28/12/2011 18:37

Hey all! Long time no post - I had even been removed from the Threads I'm On thing. AAAAGH!

Sounds like you all had good, sleepless Xmases??? Sybs - are you any better my lovely?

Trace - that FC joke is one of my favourites ever. Will report to DH.

Rubes - how is DD doing? Her poor little pegs!

We had a lovely one with inlaws - much better than expected, actually. DDs both had the flu, sadly, and DH little patience with their lacking of desire to be outside. His parents have 7 acres, which is wonderful, but when you're feeling shit like those two clearly were, there is nowhere you'd rather not be than outside. Poor little mites.

I went down to see Dad yesterday, who is on corking form. 2 weeks off chemo has done him no end of good. He has oxygen at home now and is clearly doing well. They have the Big Appointment tomorrow to see if his lungs are recovering and if he can have chemo again soon. Fingers crossed please!

DDs are so happy with all their prezzies, as am I. I do love a bit of Xmas. Although I got a look at some of our pics that my SIL took and man, I look RANK! How can this be when I have been so proud of the weight I've lost. Dear God. Poor DH!!! Hee hee!

Anyway, much love to all. Lady - did DP get out for Xmas ok and is he alright?

Much love to you all.

xxxx

Lovely beans, I am so glad your dad is on good form but sorry that the girls were unwell for Christmas. Bad luck you. Are they OK now? I think you look gorgeous in your newly slender state. When are we going out? Do you have exciting NY plans? Not my favourite time of year anyway, alas, but compounded by the outlaws in town. Coming tomorrow. Hm. Many visits to the pool beckon. I will smell like a swimming pool but I don't care.

Am feeling much more chipper now I have stopped being ill. Thanks for all the kind thoughts. Bonus is my wine tummy has receded. Cloud, lining, silver, etc.

Happy Wed everyone.

sybilfaulty · 28/12/2011 18:53

Indith, i have debated dropping mine at the local sainsbury's to ride in bob the builder for an hour to give me some peace, so hard work have they been. School will return soon enough. In the meantime, wine (or choc for you in your condition) will get us through. And cbeebies. Mine are ENTRANCED by the panto. I watched it yesterday and it was OK but not exactly hilarious. Chris has aged. Andy and SId still cute. And Artem is in it so a bonus for us all.

Indith · 28/12/2011 20:10

Beans that's great about your dad. Fingers crossed for the appointment.

Syb I have paid no attention to the magic beebies but the cries of "Christmas special mummy! Yay! Christmas special!" suggest the dcs are enjoying it. They both loved the Gruffalo's Child though. MIL has a posh TV you can use Iplayer through so when dd couldn't sleep there she sat and watch The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo's Child back to back :)

Artichohohohokes · 28/12/2011 20:35

Happy Birthday WG. Sorry you aren't sleeping and that you had a row with your DH. I hope your day got better.

Sybs, glad you are better, enjoy the swimming!

Beans, it's lovely that your Dad had a nicechristmas with time to recover. Sorry your girls had Christmas flu.

Indith, I'm not sure whether I've congratulated you on number three, so, Congratulations!

We had a lovely Christmas although four days at the put laws felt a little too long by this afternoon... However, I must not complain as we had a lovely christmasmorning at home and the girls genuinely liked their pressiesand played with each one. Then we transferred to outlaws and actually they were very nice and not even BiL or FiL annoyed me. The girls enjoyed being surrounded by grandparents and cousins and although I had a few "I miss my Mum, where is my family in this huge DH clan?" moments, mainly it was good. DH got me some gorg Bertie boots and a silky nightie. It's his 40th in two days, gulp!

waitinggirl · 28/12/2011 22:40

Many thx, feeling better. 'twas all about this Building work we/i want to take on this year. We are both terrified of it (have never done anything like that before), but my reaction is to jump in and try to enjoy it, whereas dh is so cautious it makes him hyperventilate to even talk about it. And then accuses me of being aggressive when I'm just being enthusiastic. We have a big disconnect about things sometimes. But all better now. Love to all

ZuleikaJambiere · 28/12/2011 23:10

Happy birthday WG, I hope your day has perked up? I loved TBOSOS, it was great. And happy 40th to MrArti

Big, huge thanks to my secret Santa - yum, yum Hotel Chocolat choccies Thanks

My fingers are very firmly crossed for your Dad's appointment tomorrow - its tough that the chemo drugs are doing so much good and so much bad at the same time. I'm pleased to hear that he's on such good form though. Are your girls better now?

Vaj your trip sounds like great fun, but agree that your DH's family sound a bit odd in their planning. I am guessing they're not used to thinking of children?

Deids I love your Mum's spirit! I hope she had the best hairdo for Christmas

Congrats to your DP for the job Kayz, but a shame you have to wait to get married now. But good things come to those who wait. Will the new job mean that he gets to spend more time at home?

How odd that DD broke her teeth with no other sign of injury Rubes

Hurrah for the tenant LadyT, when do they move in? I hope O's sickness passed before Christmas

We did the crib service too Sybs, DD insisted on going in her Minnie Mouse costume and joining the sheep - my favourite part of the Christmas story Grin. Pleased you're feeling better today

Lacy undies from Auntie Hmm, v bizarre Jolly!

We also had a lovely Christmas, but DD just can't keep up the pace following birthday, and then Christmas and is randomly falling asleep and then not at bedtime. Mustn't grumble though, the earliest she's woken for a week is 830am Smile. DH treated me to ££s of spa vouchers, enough to keep me in massages and toe nail trims til baby arrives - I feel very lucky. Tomorrow is packing and then on Friday we're going to the Dales with friends for 4 days - can't wait to get a change of scene and spend lots of time gossiping and drinking
Brew, with a glass of Wine on NYE. Happy new year to you all, wishing you all the best for 2012. And of course, happy birthdays to the last of our 3 year olds - the 2 Max's

Indith · 30/12/2011 13:19

Urgh. Dd has developed an absolutely rotten cold and dh has a blocked nose. LAst night I lay in bed pretty much all night long wide awake while dd coughed and coughed (she really isn't well, the coughing was continuous all bloody night) and dh snored Angry. I know they can't halp it and I feel very sorry for the girl but I want to sleeeeeeeep!
