Another late night post. I tried to offer reassurance to Scones yesterday on my phone but it all disappeared unfortunately. I echo what PA said and it really does get easier. I think it would be fair to say there are spells that are hard but by the time you reach the next one you should be less tired and your hormaones should be less all over the place - i.e. you are better able to deal with it. My motto is to just keep putting one foot in front of the other. I also take a few moments each night before I fall into bed (and, yes, ridiculously, we're still up 2-5 times a night on average) to look at each DS in their bed/cot and remember how gorgeous they are. When they begin to interact with each other, it is very special. I was able to send DS1 to the childminder for 3 days a week in the first couple of months and I still found it a hard time. Therefore, you are doing brilliantly in my book.
Lovely to hear from Rainbow and choc.
I am also on holiday SB, but no one seems to have told DS2 that - screaming toddler moment in Sainsburys and threw a big plastic lego tub lid at my forehead in anger within the first two hours of my holiday beginning!! Hope yours is going more smoothly!
Finally introduced DS2 to DH's granny today, after several failed attempts. I'm very relieved as she is getting quite frail (at the age of 89) and I was beginning to wonder if we'd get the two together at all. Both DS were lovely until the last 15 minutes and have transferred well to bed.
DS2 is really impressing us on the potty. He had 6 wees in the potty yesterday and the day before (against two in the pull up and a poo yesterday) and today we've only had one wet pull up and all other wees and two poos in the potty. I'm still not intending to put him in pants yet as I'm feeling remarkably lazy (and have other stuff to do for now, but he's clearly ready!!)
PA hope the DCs continue to get better. It took mine 4 and 5 months respectively to take a bottle. Due to the screaming from reflux that breast feeding caused, we got to a point where I gave DH the bottle then and left the room until they drunk it. I'd tried myself on several occasions, but they knew that I'd go back to BF. I didn't want to stop for either, but they were in too much pain for us to continue. Feeding upright on a bottle 'solved' our problems (well, at least eased their pain and enabled them to feed).
Off to bed after our long day. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and go easy on yourselves.
