Blush No idea, we got ours from the Range. They had a few at different prices, think we got the medium priced one.

The best one I've slept on (mattress not topper) was one my mum got from ebay for her spare bed. I've actually toyed with the idea of swapping them Grin

bg it was great, I've really struggled talking to the people at the playgroups as they have already seemed to have formed their groups.

StoneBaby · 26/11/2011 14:12

OMG, DS has been hard working this morning. Tantruming every time I said no to him (so quite a few tears). I know he's pushing and testing the boundaries but it's hard Sad But we had a lovely lunch out at the pub because I fancied eating a bean jar (local speciality which is quite similar to a cassoulet)

StoneBaby · 26/11/2011 18:34

I've made £35 selling various baby stuff! I'm well pleased. All the money we make selling some of DS stuff goes straight in his savings.

Also it's free listing on ebay this weekend for those of you who are selling your baby stuff Grin

bc great news that you're 20 weeks and that everything is going fine. I hope the house situation will get better, are you going to sue/contact your surveyor?

bethylou · 26/11/2011 23:09

Running in to say thanks again for more support. No further forward, but if we see more blood we have to take DS1 straight in to Birmingham. Many of our friends have said to lie, but DH and I are struggling with that. I've been selling more on ebay tonight too SB, hence a short post. Sorry not to respond to you all - promise I am reading and thinking of you all. Just wanted to let you know that we are kind of okay after losing the plot slightly the other night. Will come back on Monday to reply to all your posts (as long as we aren't in hospital).

BabyGiraffes · 27/11/2011 00:12

beth keeping fingers crossed

Hope you all have a relaxing Sunday Smile

StoneBaby · 27/11/2011 08:16

bethy FX for you and DS1. I have to confess that I would probably lie to the doctor in order to get him check Blush especially after everything you've been through.

StoneBaby · 27/11/2011 11:46

Well yesterday was a nappy free day but DS woke up several times during the night, I guess a mix of over-tiredness, teething and a cold.
So today, I'm determine that he'll have a nap. He's been in his cot for now 15mn first sreaming and now it's a tired whinge so hopefully he'll fall asleep soon and I'll have a happy toddler when he wakes up

Happy Sunday ot you all

InmaculadaConcepcion · 27/11/2011 14:19

bethy FX for you and your DS.

Bc that's infuriating about the lateral wotsits in your house. Ouch.
But good news about getting to 20 weeks, yay!

My mattress topper was £90 (inc p&p and £10 discount) from tesco.com. Think it was Silent Night. The 3cm ones are cheaper, but I opted for a 5cm one. You can get 7cm ones too.

Well, I've been hit by part two of this annoying double whammy bug that everyone seems to be getting around here (which was what DD had/has - she still isn't quite free of it). A week after the cold starts, you think you're almost over it then you get hit by a head full of snot, sneezing fits, coughing - all sorts of cold-related delights. I feel like my head wants to explode through my nose. Thank goodness I'm not pg at the moment, at least I can dose up. I HATE trying to sleep breathing through my mouth, so a couple of shots of nasal spray got me through the night.

DD had a bit of a fever last night - she was a bit subdued in her bath, then afterwards all she wanted to do was cuddle up to DH under a blanket (even though she felt hot and had a temperature of 38.1). She kept saying "tired" or "cansada" (Spanish for tired). We thought we might be in for an interrupted night, but DD slept until 08.00. Even then, she wanted to stay in her cot for a while, albeit with DH reading her stories. Nice for me - I got to stay in bed and read my book. It's an ill wind.

She seems absolutely fine so far today, so hopefully it's not heralding the start of another ailment....

Oh IC poor your and DD.

DS is also under the weather with a very drooly, snotty nose and a bit of temperature (38C) but FX the fever will go away as he needs to go to nursery as I'm back to work tomorrow (not back to my usual self but I don't have the choice Hmm ). We had a lovely afternoon at the playground where DS enjoyed going down the slide on his belly. He has discovered that he can put himself on his tommy in the bath and splash around with his legs Grin

Get well wishes to everyone Sad. Can add myself, too. Not feeling much better than I did last Sunday night... This is one stubborn cold.

StoneBaby · 27/11/2011 19:02

Stay away from me!!! Grin No seriously, I hope you all get well soon.

Pass around Brew and Biscuit

BabyGiraffes · 27/11/2011 20:30

This thread has cheered me up a lot just now Smile

PenguinArmy · 27/11/2011 20:39

yes I enoyed/ing that thread

DD learned nee-naw nee-naw nee-naw the other day.

Have my physio appt. tomorrow and AF has possibly just turned up Hmm

InmaculadaConcepcion · 27/11/2011 20:49

Arf at that thread! So true...

InmaculadaConcepcion · 27/11/2011 21:13

Actually, DD has started doing a very cute thing which is gently stroking my back when I've dried off after a shower. It happened spontaneously one day when I crouched down to pick something up and now she keeps asking for "more gentle!" ("assume the position Mama, I want to give you a fairy back massage..!")
I'm quite pleased with this Smile

BG thanks dor sharing that thread, scarily I can easily identify myself in those comments!

BabyGiraffes · 27/11/2011 21:27

SB just posted on it myself... Grin
IC that's so cute of your dd Smile. dd2 woke at 6.30 this morning and when I took her into our bed she showered dh with kisses and hugs and he had no choice but to wake up Grin. May train her to massage my neck.... Wink
PA look after yourself, ok?

SconesForTea · 28/11/2011 14:49

It's my first day of the rest of my life today (or the next year anyway!) - on my own with two DCs. Fine so far, DD has napped twice (DD1 that is!) hurrah! I'm going to attempt to take them into town to run some errands, the 'attempt' part is because we live at the top of a steep hill and the walk home is usually a 30-min march, it may take me a lot longer with the much heavier double buggy. One I'm there there's only one way back though Smile

I'm rather concerned about DD2's breathing today. SHe has been snuffly since birth and when she was 14 days old we took her to drs who said don't worry unless she's not feeding. Well she is, plenty of wet and dirty nappies (too many Hmm - I am considering using disposables for a while ) - but the poor love really does seem to be having difficulty breathing. But is there any point in taking her back to drs when he has already said, there is nothing he can do for her? Also, her breathing calms down a lot when she's asleep, it is much more laboured when she's awake.

Sorry for me me me post, I am reading all your posts but so sporadically on my phone and I never have time to post a reply when I've just read them so it all goes out of my head Confused

But one thing I do remember is bethy's DS1, bethy I'd be very tempted to lie too. Maybe it's the better of two evils.

PenguinArmy · 28/11/2011 15:44

scones DS was in disposables the first four weeks. I don't see why another trip to the docs will hurt (see another doctor maybe), how long until the 6 week check? Sorry I don't have anything useful to say.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 28/11/2011 18:31

Well, a delightful day with DD (cold notwithstanding) has been marred by her refusing to touch any of her supper. So bed with no food Sad.

I hate having to do that, but I know if I keep finding her alternatives, I will be teaching her that she can get whatever food she prefers by refusing what I offer her AND I will be stopping her from being remotely adventurous. So storing up more problems from the future.

DD doesn't seem to mind, so I suppose I should just shrug my shoulders and let it go. The last couple of times she barely touched her supper, she also didn't wake up too early, so FX she won't be disturbed by empty tummy rumbles too early tomorrow...

flyingcloud · 28/11/2011 20:27

Hope you all feel better soon. Am now over my cold, had friends to stay over the weekend so felt like I was cooking/changing bed linen/cleaning for most of the time. Manically busy with work and have to do two more trips away, so I am going to have a little self-indulgent grumble, I am 29 weeks after all.

OK, that's better. Actually having friends (friends of DH's who I don't really know that well) was fun, DD loved their 3yo son and keeps asking where he is. He wasn't quite so keen on DD and refused to allow her to shower him with kisses, which she was put out by, but she kept persevering nonetheless.

Bethy have everything crossed for you.

BC sorry to hear about your house problem, sounds like a nightmare but hope there is a solution out there. Glad that your pregnancy is going well.

Scones hope today went well? I seemed so hopeless with DD for so bloody long. It took me months, literally months, to get us both out of the house on Saturday mornings to go to the market. I have no idea how I am going to do it with two. Anyway, hope you made it out?!

SB - good luck with your interview.

Get well soon everyone else.

StoneBaby · 28/11/2011 20:48

Well I just survived today. Still not back to my normal self and that easy day at work has exhausted me!

Very me post but it's bedtime for me.

More tomorrow

InmaculadaConcepcion · 28/11/2011 21:26

One day in the future fc that three year-old will look back on an opportunity missed with your DD Wink

I hope you have a good bit of kip SB and regain your strength for tomorrow.

Well, we had quite a turnaround with the food situation. DD kept saying "comida" (Spanish for dinner) to DH after her bath so he brought her back downstairs and we re-offered her her untouched meal. After quite a bit of faffery (including twice refusing to sit in her chair - now at the table sans tray), she finally tucked in and ate the lot.
I think the clincher was when she realised her options were to either eat what was in front of her or go to bed (which sounds like we were being heavy with her, but we weren't. It was all kept calm and it was DD's bedtime when she opted for a late supper. We were being kind but firm.)

DH had been saying to me "I wish you wouldn't experiment with new foods for DD in the evening meal, I hate her going to bed with no supper..." but I pointed out that a) I hadn't been experimenting, I'd made something very similar to other things she had happily eaten in the past and b) I wasn't going to be held to ransom at mealtimes and eat pasta and pesto every single night just in case DD decided she didn't want to eat something.

Anyway, all's well that ends well.

I hope DD doesn't adopt this as a bedtime procrastination tactic, though...!
