Hey All Grin

Frak, F will now take about 3x 4oz bottles between 7am-5pm, with 3 solid meals (hit & miss BLW style!).

It's taken a few months to get him to that much. Before half term we'd be lucky if he took 100ml during the day. (sorry about inconsistency of units.)

He basically has barely put on weight since August, but is still just under the 50th line.

I couldn't work out how much he 'should' be having, either. Especially now he's on formula while I'm at work. I figure it doesn't matter anyway, we couldn't MAKE him take more. And despite the weight thing, he's healthy & growing longer.

He's happy, and still gets some BM.

I just wish he'd sleep better!

chocablock · 08/11/2011 23:39

Hello, I am new to MN, can I come in to your thread? DD nearly 7 months old, she was born on April 9th. Would love to chat to/poss meet up with other Mums - any other North Londoners out there?

fraktious · 09/11/2011 04:07

Hi chocablock and welcome! I'm nowhere near you unfortunately but happy to chat Wink

dairy M, still being refluxy, only takes 3oz, 4 if we're lucky, bottles and typically has 15oz over 10 hours. And still wants boob all night but probably more for comfort than anything else. That's in addition to 3 BLW style meals (although we do cheat and spoon feed yoghurt etc).

GlaikitFizzog · 09/11/2011 09:42

Ok so we have tooth number 3 today!!!! How is that possible. 3 teeth in a week!

I'm getting excited because a hobbycraft is opening nearby. I know ill be disappointed though!

Hi chocablock no where near north London either! but this lot are good virtual company!!

JoEW · 09/11/2011 10:35

Hey all.

Welcome, Chocablock. I'm down in Richmond, but I don't venture North very often. I can easily get to Waterloo/London Bridge if that works? Are there any other Londoners in our thread? Might be fun to arrange a little meet up one afternoon...

Mrs W, yay for the laughs. It's SO very cute.

Congrats Dairy and Chilli on the new arrivals!

Ilike, glad you had a good day in memory of Cole.

Am with you on thinking the dreamfeed might disturb sleep. I introduced it with C, probably too late in any case, it worked for 3 nights and then we hit the horror of three weeks of the worst nights ever. Dropped the dream feed and he's back to just waking up once for a feed and then going straight back down. Not sure he really needs the one night feed but it's easy and it means that we all still get a reasonable nights sleep.

I don't even know what Hobbycraft is.... god, I am going to be rubbish at this. I bloody hate fancy dress so poor C is destined for a future of truly duff costumes.

Fizz, glad you're feeling better. Wow at three teeth in a week. Still no sign of any here.

Not a chance of C crawling either. If I put him on his front he just flips himself onto his back again. Lazy boy. He loves standing up, it's all he wants to do and if I try to get him to sit he just locks his body straight. Why do I have a child who won't sit?! The standing is great but obviously he can't do it without me holding him, so it's pretty useless too. Thank the lord for the jumperoo.

In other news, we had an appointment with the dietician yesterday and C is now on the 25th centile for his corrected age. He's gone up two since we got him home, very exciting.

I am refusing to think about Christmas yet.

Cyclebump · 09/11/2011 10:51

Jo, you are sooo missing out on Hobbycraft joy!

Glad you had a nice family day ILTMIMI.

Hurray for new babies Smile

We survived a nine-hour power cut yesterday Sad Luckily H and I were out in the afternoon so we brought home fish and chips to a grumpy DP who had come home to do paperwork and his computer wasn't working. H seemed to find the candles and gloom very exciting and slept well even without a bath but it was very annoying. I hate power cuts, sigh.

MrsWajs · 09/11/2011 12:48

Afternoon all :) And welcome choca :)

Well we had a fantastic night last night, R went down at 8.30pm and I freaked out when I woke up at 8.55am and realised I hadn't heard her at all the whole night!! Went through and she was awake but settled and lying on her front!! Obviously she can roll over in the sleeping bag now! I wonder if she prefers sleeping on her front now she's tried it out as that's the longest sleep she's ever had. Pity this mornings nap was only 45 minutes though, oh well can't have it all!!

Frak I'll try amazon.fr/de but not holding out much hope. Also I'm huffing with amazon anyway for more than doubling the price of the leappads they have in stock, although it didn't stop me ordering R's jumperoo as they had it for the lowest price..ahem. Thank god that's not an "in demand" toy as well, I'd be having a nervous breakdown!

Fizz The MN scarf is going on my christmas wish list, it's right up my street - thanks for the link!
In other christmas news, my mum is getting me the robin charm for my links bracelet! How nice :)

Yay for all the new little arrivals, my 1st niece is due in about 6 weeks time and I can't wait to snuggle a teeny tiny little baby again!

There's a new hobbycraft opened up beside me too! But so far I've never been. SIL is going to get stuff to make her wedding invitations so I might tag along with her.

Well the laughing was short-lived. It was obviously a one off experience as no matter how hard we've tried she hasn't done it again since! And still no teeth despite the stinking nappies. Last night DSS had the runs and after he'd left when I changed R I noticed there was a watery poo stain in her nappy as well as usual poo so I think maybe she'd had diarrhoea too, so maybe teeth isn't the answer after all. Should I withold solids if I think she has a bug or just carry on as normal? She seems fine in her self and hasn't been sick at all.
ILTMI Being a nurse means I have smelled many weird and wonderful poo's and know what they mean but none have ever come close to the stench from R's bum the last few days!!

GlaikitFizzog · 09/11/2011 13:59

MrsW tell your SIL to have a look in hobbycraft for ideas then buy off the internet. Much cheaper than hobbycraft if you use lityle indepenant retailers with an online prsence.. Its what we did. We just had simple gate fold cards with a ribbon tying them closed I did all my own place cards, menus, orders of service and thank you cards. I think we saved about £500 doing it ourselves.

MN scarf is fab! And when you get one check for all the ways you can tie it!

B has been a velcro baby today, when he's not been sleeping. Think he is feeling very sorry for himself with his teeth and stuff! I'm not complaining, I quite like snuggles!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 09/11/2011 16:11

This isn't fair. Everyone lives near a Hobbycraft except me

Have you ever encountered a fecal vomit MrsW? I only learnt of these a few years ago (a nurse told me about them), my face was like this Shock when she told me. I have been fascinated by them ever since Blush

chocablock · 09/11/2011 16:24

Thanks for the welcome messages. Fecal vomit is something I (thankfully) haven't experienced (yet) ILTMIMI!! Jo would be great to arrange a meet up in London sometime. I was going to ask if I am the only one whose dc (7 months today) hasn't sat up unaided yet? GP says not to worry they all do it in their own time but it seems as if all babies are doing it apart from her!!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 09/11/2011 16:48

Hello Choca, sorry I forgot to say hello to you before. Are you a nurse to?

I think there a few babies on here who aren't sitting unaided yet, like your GP said, they do it in their own time Smile

MrsWajs · 09/11/2011 17:40

woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohoooooooooooooooooooooo

leap pad successfully purchased!! Grin Grin Grin I am super stepmummy!!

MrsWajs · 09/11/2011 17:41

On further investigation, I might have actually bought 3 Confused shit!!

MrsWajs · 09/11/2011 17:50

Sorry ILTMI I missed your last comment in all my excitement!! Ummm, I haven't experienced one I don't think but I have come across patients who've had faecal breath and that was boke enough for me!! Sometimes when people have passed away you can get all sorts leaking out orally and that is NOT nice at all!

Cyclebump · 09/11/2011 18:55

Faecal vomit?! Ewwwwwwwwwww!

fraktious · 09/11/2011 19:02

Oh help. Our nanny's going home because her mum is sick. I feel so sorry for her but that's leaves us up shit creek Sad and she's wonderful and I don't want her to go even though I totally understand.

ecuse · 09/11/2011 19:17

FECAL VOMIT ??!! Please tell me that isn't what it sounds like ????
Shock Shock Shock
Hi choca I'm in north London as are a couple of others on the list. Where abouts are you?

MrsWajs · 09/11/2011 19:55

Yep ecuse it is exactly as it sounds, caused by extreme constipation!! Not nice at all.

MrsWajs · 09/11/2011 19:56

Or also extreme

MrsWajs · 09/11/2011 19:56

Ok obviously can't underline and do bold altogether!! Blush

GlaikitFizzog · 09/11/2011 20:27

If you've bought 3 mrsw I've seen at least 2 threads in here in the last two days searching fir them. I'm duress you find takers.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 09/11/2011 20:46

Frak what a nightmare :( Fingers crossed you can find a replacement.

Bleugh at faecal vomit. Just bleugh!

GlaikitFizzog · 09/11/2011 21:14

OMG your poo can come out of your mouth!!

In other news, washing machine has just packed up :(

GsyGacheFiend · 09/11/2011 22:17

I was having a good day, have been to collect some lovely joint photos of DS & DD and had fun at Aqua Zumba. But then afterwards in the car park I managed to reverse my car into another parked car. Blush.

Naturally there were loads of other people standing around chatting at the time, including the lady from Zumba who the car belonged too. Blush Blush. It also didn't help that before I bumped it, I had commented to my friend who I was giving a lift to that it would be a nice easy exit as there were no cars parked behind Blush Blush Blush.

It was also entirely my fault. Luckily there didn't seem to be any damage caused to her car and she has my number but i'm dreading seeing her in the pool again next week. Blush Blush Blush Blush

Welcome choca

There's no hobbycraft near me either ILTMI you're not alone. I could probably count the number of UK stores present in Guernsey on my fingers Envy

Congratulations on the leappad MrsWajs. I was thinking about getting one for DS but he hasn't asked for it yet so I will save the search for the new year and get it for his birthday in April. If you do have extra ones, put them on Ebay, you'd definately make some extra money for Christmas Wink.

chocablock · 09/11/2011 22:36

ILTMIMI no I'm not a nurse. I'm a teacher. Or I was until I had dd. Now am sahm.
ecuse I'm in Finchley, where are you?
