dannid I hope the mastitis gets better.

Penguin that info on wonder weeks is good to know, and may account for some behaviour that I thought was sickness but seems to have passed after lots of cuddles and comfort. A has certainly found his hands as well, I can hear him sucking them at night which is very funny. I've also noticed that he watches me much more when I am moving around far away from him.

em DH and I keep meaning to try that although as am BF it may be too much effort, although A is often only getting up once now so may be OK. Perhaps this weekend ... (although I haven't mentioned it to DH yet, hehe)

MamaMaiasaura · 11/12/2011 22:46

Yet wonder week stuff makes sense as j is loving her hands, is cooing (when not crying) and watching mobile go around and smiling. Just feeding her now and then fingers crossed bedtime.

For those bfing have u had period or bleeding? I thought I'd stopped post birth stuff but noticed spotting today. J is 7 weeks and exclusively bf

Scheherezade · 11/12/2011 22:51

Ouch dannid! Rather than bit c pills can you just stock up on oranges and pure juice? Will probably work better anyway.

Cyrus slept for..... 6 1/2 hours in one block last night! If only I didn't keep waking every couple of hours :( I honestly can't imagine life without this slumber bear, it is the most incredible invention and the creator deserves the Nobel peace prize- he was determined to scream and stay awake tonight, but he just can't fight it.

PenguinArmy · 11/12/2011 22:51

awen I had mine at 6 weeks this time and I really truly feed to demand. Bitter, moi? Although I'm hoping it was just a one off. I read in the politics of breastfeeding that it's the cumulative amount of time BF in a day that largely determines when periods start and I have quick feeders so that makes sense.

Glad the info has helped.

dannid hope you feel better soon, mastitis is horrible.

In case people hadn't noticed I made the facebook group secret which means it can't be searched for etc. If people haven't found the group yet we can deal with it as situations arise. I believe everyone is a admin member.

Penelope1980 · 12/12/2011 01:11

Awen I haven't got mine yet and A is almost 10 weeks now - had some spotting so thought it was on its way, but no

CheshireDing · 12/12/2011 02:45

Name doc edited, think the group needs closing again now to "outsiders" but not sure how to do that (without probably deleting the whole thing!)

LittlePebble · 12/12/2011 03:12

Argh no sleep! Eli went to sleep at eleven and then was awake at one for a feed, then two thirty crying and now again at three but he's only feeding long enough to drop off not a full feed and he seems to have bad tummy. I'm so tired and feel like crap so just want to sleep. DP has gone into spare room to sleep wish I could do that. Sad

Dannid hope mastitus clears up.

Thanks everyone for wonder years info will read that now... Wishing you all a better night x

CheshireDing · 12/12/2011 09:20

Pebble I have that probably too with P sometimes. She wakes me in the middle of the night, feds for 5 minutes and then falls asleep (and I can never wake her to feed), then I know she will be awake in another hour because she is not full!

I hope you got some sleep in the early hours of this morning though instead :)

Getting a lot more squeaks out of P recently and she is definitely more aware her hands belong to her now Grin

GroovyRach · 12/12/2011 09:58

Woke up this morning and S is full of the cold!! Argh!!!!

Back shortly

bilblio · 12/12/2011 10:12

dannid hope the mastitus is clearing up. When I had it with DD I caught it really early and the antibiotics kicked in within a few hours. Well done on carrying on with the party though.

Awen no AF here. I think I made it to 7 months last time. Once weaning kicked in properly and DD dropped some feeds AF returned. DD and Seth were/are both quick feeders, most feeds are about 10 minutes, every 3-4 hours.

We're having a rough few days here. We all have lingering colds, and Seth and I have sore throats & hacking coughs. I'm sucking cough sweets but he can't obviously. I feel so sorry for him, he looks in so much pain when he coughs. He must be if it's like mine, but there's nothing I can do. I've been trying to feed him more to soothe it, but he's not interested. :( and my boobs are killing me!

Saturday night he coughed so much that he threw up an entire feed all over me. The only thing I didn't have to change was my knickers, he even got my socks! Somehow though nothing hit him. Then he wee'd on me later, and I'd had a clean top from leaky boobs too. A great Saturday night.

Tomorrow we have our 6 week check... except it's 8 weeks, and Seth will be having his first lot of jabs. Anyone know if they'll do them as he's ill?

GroovyRach · 12/12/2011 10:20

bil I'm sure they do still do jags even if under the weather. Poor baby Sad

bilblio · 12/12/2011 10:21

Oh forgot to say. DD came running in to me yesterday to tell me Seth had said his first word "ape." :o

No awareness of his hands yet but lots of babbling and a bit of laughing.

PenguinArmy · 12/12/2011 11:38

Problem with short feeders is that 10 mins seems like a massive feed Grin and then I realise I can't complain because that's most people's normal.

DS seems to 'wake' later than 5 now, past few days has been 6:30 which is nice.

Jabs, I think as long as they don't have a fever they say to have them. Otherwise you can't tell if fever was caused by jabs or not. It was in a leaflet handed out at the beginning but I think mine has been thrown out already.

Ouch dannid, hope your mastitis clears up soon.

No sign of AF here at 8 weeks awen but I keep feeling as if it's on its way. Hope not though.

Oh pebble, hope you managed to get some sleep in the end. I hate nights like that but once the daylight comes it seems better.

DD has spots all over her face/neck/chest which is apparently baby acne. It doesn't seem to bother her but it looks really sore to me. Hope it clears up soon!

bilblio · 12/12/2011 18:24

mrsp Seth had bad baby acne on his face neck and chest too. DD had it but only a little. It does look horrible but it went when he was about 5 weeks old. Resist the urge to pick and keep it clean. If any spots get infected you can get some cream.

We are the house of lurg. DD was sent home at lunch she went grey and floppy and was up crying to come home. About an hour later she threw up everywhere but then seemed fine until 4 when she fell asleep on the sofa. She never sleeps during the day so she must be ill. Just spoken to my mum and my niece who we saw this weekend is the same. I just hope she's okay for the nativity on Thursday, and Friday they've been rehearsing for weeks, she, and her teacher will be gutted if she can't do it.

GroovyRach · 12/12/2011 22:34

evening ladies! got a spare 10 mins while the laptop is on. find that with using my iphone these days, im never on the computer anymore! it sits gathering dust!
so today i went out into town and got the last few bits and pieces for christmas. still waiting on a few things being delivered but im thinking they should be here by end of the week. might sit and write out cards then i can try get them posted tomorrow then thats another things i can strike off the list! its getting closer and closer Xmas Smile

mrsp S had baby acne for the first few weeks. she got lots of little spots on her legs at first that scared me a bit till the mw told me it was nothing to worry about, then she got them all over her face, along with what seemed like a whole layer of skin that came off! my poor baby. hopefully it will clear up in no time!

S woke up this morning loaded with the cold. she was really struggling while she was trying to take her bottle. nose was all blocked up! seemed better through the day but typically when i was putting her to bed, it stuffed again. ive got her basket propped up and put some snuffle baby rub on her babygrow so hopfully will help. im gonna have a quick tidy up then try get an early night. got a feeling it will be a long one!
