mlic He is never like this, the drunken behaviour the other day is because the do was busy he thought he would drink pints as they last longer thus less visits to the bar, but pints make him sleep walk and do stupid things, today he was in a world of his own like a kid excited reading about the cars and didnt even know he was arsing around with the pushchair, I personally think that he knows how much he upset me Friday and its been on his mind so just doing things without thinking thats the only thing I can think it could be. An example of how he doesnt think is I never justify nice kitchen things and throughout my whole pg I put money away to buy myself a set of Tefal pans, its something I have always wanted, I told him over and over when we got them they are non stick and you dont put metal to metal, so my big £50 pan is now covered in scratches as he mashed potatoes in it, and he didnt tell me because...'well whats done is done' Shock I cried when I found out to him its just a pan. I just need a break from him and his stupidity and then next week we will be fine again.

sorry for huge rant im still a bit angry, can you tell? Wink right ive made a carrot cake, now im going for the spin!

mlic it does seem to be getting worse, hopefully the week at work will sort him out although how much sleep I will get isnt going to make me happy, I have only just got in and L has been screaming, he is dosed up on calpol, I know his teeth are hurting but bloody hell its blood curdling, he has had his night terrors every night for 5 nights, rang mum to say I was back safe and she could hear him, she thinks I should take him docs but to say what oh he is teething and getting night terrors please fix him?!
DH has gone to buy pizza, in determined to blow out before shred starts!

chulita that sounds like a shitty job they did, was there a warrenty with it? my mum had her roof, doors and windows sone and they come with 10 year warrenty, seems so bad cant wait for Friday to come so your DH can return and take the weight off of your shoulders a bit.

So we're back from the weekend of hell.

Wednesday - went to the doctors re J's cough and were giving a preventative asthma inhaler (even though they cant diagnose asthma as he's too young) and get told to go the hospital in the morning and get a chest x ray.

Thursday - get up to water running down the Walls in the kitchen and the living room from the roof in the leak, but then have to go off to the hospital and have said x-ray done

Friday - have to pack bag for weekend away before going to work at 7.20am, then pick j up from nursery in the evening and he's running a temp. Give him some ca pol then get on the motorway to try and get to Somerset to my dads house, 3 hours to go 80 miles, crying baby in the car

Saturday - j wakes up with temp, has ca pol, lunch time has temp, has calpol, then falls asleep on me for most of afternoon, wakes up running a temp of 38.6, has calpol, temp goes up to 39.7, call nhs direct, who send us an ambulance. Paramedics don't want to take us in as we'd get stuck in a &e so call and make us an appointment at the ooh clinic in the hospital, two hours later we're home again with some antibiotics for a possible upper respiratory tract infection, up every hour during the night

Sunday - J's whingy with an intermittent temp, giving calpol and ibuprofen alternatively, by lunch seems ok, is eating and drinking, then goes down for his nap, then he can't wake up, starts running a temp, is unresponsive. About to go back to the hospital and he comes round, bright as a button, running about and playing. Goes down to bed like normal, wakes up at 1am absolutely screaming. He's burning up again at 39.8, we give him more calpol, then take him outside to cool him down, after about an hour his temp starts coming down so we set an alarm to wake us in another hour to check his temp again, but he was ok for the rest of the night.

Monday - mild temp this morning but grisly and upset so we come home, to find that mold is growing in the corner of our kitchen ceiling where the water came through so I've spent the rest of the day scrubbing and bleaching the flat.

Stac we are planning to move but need to fix up the flat to put it on the Market. Hoping it won't lose too much value with the roof issues, they aren't our responsibility but are the management company's.

Mlic- I'm very impressed with the shredding, I should dig out my copy.

CakeandRoses · 30/08/2011 00:15

hotg jeezo, what a weekend Sad how is he now?

all ok here thanks mlic. just a combo of bloody knackered as both are still teething and waking up lots at night,'sleeping' in our bed and have also been busy doing stuff with dh, which has been nice. just watched a brilliant film 'hanna', you'd love it Grin

chul not much longer to go til you get your lovely dh back. you did make me grin with L's 'yes but no' and also looking on the bright side of having children who cry 'a bit' Grin

sorry, no advice about L and her pooing but i really sympathise with how annoyed you feel. it's hard to understand why they do these crazy things.

memph it sounds as tho a break from dh will def be a good idea! i would have felt murderous about the saucepan, let alone the rest of it. my dh broke a wine glass and a china measuring spoon this weekend but i couldn't even get ratty as they were genuine accidents/not his fault.

hope L is ok and you do get some sleep.

tsc F is a biting nightmare due to aforementioned teething. he bites at least one person every time he's teething - sadly it's often A. i think this is the last batch tho as i looked earlier and his last two molars are both almost broken thru.

annoyingly it seems A suffers as much as F does so now we've got another couple of years of it. i've said it before and i'll say it again - i fucking hate teeth.

oh and can i just have a little pfb moment please? F's just learnt to spell his name. it felt amazing when he first got all the letters right yesterday! he's so pleased with himself too Smile

OP posts:
memphis83 · 30/08/2011 08:58

cakes thats lovely about F spelling his name, cant wait for moments like that, we had to spell our first and surname before we left playschool for big school when I was little im dreading that for L, my name was bad enough having a 9 letter first name but his surname is 11, Im sure DH is dyslexic and he did it by school so it can be done but its things like that that make me with L had my name.
Quick question, do you think the amber necklaces work? Im willing to tryanything to make L better, on the brightside he slept til 5 then back down til 8.
hg what a hellish weekend, hope J improves quickly, not exactly a relaxing weekend for you.
For anyone who is interested its Asda baby event starting today, ive been waiting for it we are down to the least amount of wipes since I had L!

Chulita · 30/08/2011 09:08

hg that's an awful weekend :( hope it picks up for you from here!

memphis have a lovely DH-free week Grin cake swears by amber necklaces irrc, poor L and his teeth.

cake L bit S's finger yesterday and left HUGE indents, and she's not teething Angry

I'm off in 10 mins to our house so won't be on til Thursday. Hope everyone has a calm and peaceful couple of days and don't miss me too much :)

chulita hoping it doesnt rain and its not too cold this week, good luck without cbeebies!
mlic your right for they price its worth a try, ive ordered one will be here tomorrow, im just a bit worried, uk guidlines say dont let them sleep in them but then they dont work if they arent kept on Confused I thought dh would be against him wearing a necklace but even he is willing to try anything!

CakeandRoses · 30/08/2011 09:54

Bye chul! Hope your week goes well.

I'm not totally sure about the amber tbh, A is better than F was at this age but that's not saying much as he was awful with them and she's still suffering and waking lots but will actually go back to sleep.

Also, you're supposed to only put them on when they're actually teething whereas I leave them on all the time so that might make them less effective.

As mlic said for 12 quid it's worth a try, they're pretty anyway - F and A get loads of compliments on theirs!

I've also really gone off using calpol etc after reading some scary articles about the awful chemicals used in childrens medicine. I'm trying to only use them when essential whilst I figure out an alternative.

DesperateHousewife21 · 30/08/2011 10:07

Have a good week chulita!

DH is off this week which is nice, we went out yesterday and had lunch then went for a walk around town. The weather isnt great so its hard to think of things to do. I think I actually do more when Im on my own!

memphis83 · 30/08/2011 10:26

cakes the information my eco warrior friend gave me said they have to wear them all the time, she said its just british guidlines that say not to due to strangling risks, but annoyingly I threw away the info!
I hate using calpol and nurofen but he is trying to pull his jaw off when he screams, funnily enough last night when he woke screaming I gave him teething powders for the first time in ages as I wasnt convinced they did anything, and its the most settled he has been in ages.
Regarding calpol, I could open medicine bottles from really young and mum used to dispare as I would drink whole bottles of Calpol if I got my hands on it, no matter where she hid it I got it, and another one was Tixylix wasnt in child safe bottle I used to drink that too!! wonder how much they messed me up Grin

memphis83 · 30/08/2011 14:03

mlic looks lie ive been saved from shred for another day it hasnt arrived! so im going to have a cuppa and a slab of cake..not a slice a SLAB Grin

Went Asda and spent £50 Shock only food I bough was a cauliflower and broccoli! Stocked back up on wips, and his follow on milk is on offer, got him the next size uv suit in the sale in case we get a winter holiday!

memphis83 · 30/08/2011 14:04

wipes not wips

Spirael · 30/08/2011 15:07

Afternoon all. I could get used to three day weekends, but we're out of bank holidays now until Christmas - boo!

Sounds like you had a nightmarish weekend, HotGiggity. :( Is J any better now?

I'm very Shock at your DH, Memphis. There should be an epic amount of grovelling going on for him to try and redeem himself.

That's amazing that F can spell is name, Cake! Grin How old is he now?

We were dosing M up with Calpol several days in a row last week, you have me worried now that we shouldn't have done that. Confused She had a cold, including a bad chesty cough, and I was worried her throat was hurting her. Why are the medicines so bad?

Things have calmed down here, I'm happy to report. :) I actually had a lovely weekend with DH and M, just spending the time together. M was so happy all weekend, she kept laughing away and loved being read to and playing with her toys together. We also made some mozzarella from scratch and we all helped make and eat a lime meringue pie.

It makes me a bit sad to come back to work, really!!! But hopefully we can spend a lot more weekends like that.

M seems to be having another growth spurt, we currently can't get the food into her quick enough again! Her breakfast on Monday consisted of an entire weetabix, a whole waffle and some fruit. Shock That's more than I ate. Confused

Next weekend is SIL's wedding and M is being a flower girl. MIL has made M's dress and it's absolutely beautiful. We've got some sparkly red party shoes for her and a pretty headband (that'll last a whole 2 seconds before being pulled off and thrown on the floor Grin).

Has anyone elses LO had a haircut yet? We took M on Saturday, just to get it trimmed back a little to make it level and a bit less whispy. She didn't really need it, but it makes it look a little more boyish neat now ahead of the weekend.

Lastly, has anyone else been chosen as a tester for Walkers Sunbites? There seems to have been loads of people selected.

memphis83 · 30/08/2011 15:16

spirael I took L for his hair a while ago as he had no hair on the side I had the top trimmed so it looked less like a toupee, I dont enter these tester things although now you said that I wish I had they are lovely, the sweet chilli sunbites are delish, although we cant talk about crisps as mlic is on a health kick!

mlic hopefully its the peak of the cold and now you will feel better! and indeed he is still in my bad books, I told his sister that he is lucky he isnt on a friends sofa looking for a place to rent and she looked at me Shock My mum thinks im being over the top, this is the woman who was married to my dad, a man who if he drank stout he shit the bed and if too much lager pissed in the wardrobe, as a family of pub owners it happened weekly! she put up with it for 30 years for him to leave her!
Go for your takeaway, im making a curry feast, I think its healthy as I bought weight watchers naan Grin

Bloody hell I'm knackered, been to london for work today which was nice but I'm starting to feel the effetcs of juggling my work in to so little time.

I was wondering about whips too memph :) I really wouldn't worry now about name-spelling or even dyslexia. I think schools are so much better at handling all sorts of needs and ability levels now. And also remember they don't start school til (look away mlic) 4+ so that's over a year older than F is now so should think it would be easily doable in time - no need to start hot-housing L now ;-)

mlic hope you shake off the cold soon. You're making me fancy a takeway too now!

spirael he's 3 in oct so I don't think it's especially amazing that he can do it, it's just amazing because he's my first child who has done it! It's hard to imagine that our thread babies will be able to do stuff like that in less than 2 years isn't it?

I have postponed mentioning about calpol etc as I half regret reading it myself. Will link to it when home. And then you can hate me.

< Avoids all mention of hair cuts >

stac dont be sorry, come back when you have the time, so much exciting stuff going on for you at the moment!
cakes oh im not worried about dyslexia, my nephew has it and you wouldnt tell as his school was amazing, but dh never got help and its painful to read his texts and hear him read to L! But its going to be just down to me to teach L reading and writing and thats what I find so daunting! oh and I think I will give reading up on calpol a miss as i cant scare myself when it soothes him.
Ive made onion bahjis..the dog has eaten them ...its a sad sad day in the memphis household!
