Have gone for formula in a bottle after weeks of trying cows milk in various cups and having him screw his nose up at them. Then, when Cluck was round with BabyChick and his bottle of formula the other day LG finished off his leftovers in the blink of an eye. I didn't give it to him - he helped himself, much like he helps himself to BabyChick's dummy. Hmm So I caved in and have given him formula in a bottle. I am just a bit worn out but the constant demands for BFing and will be back at work in a few weeks (I hope. We all know what happened last time I got this close to work before!) I am not convinced I would be able to pass exams and work night duties if I am not getting great sleep because LG is after his milk. I'll keep him on formula until he is happily established off BFing and then start slipping a bit of cows milk into it.

LG at night is a bit trying atm. We are hopeful he will be better in his own room - only another 2 weeks for that! So anything at all that gets me even minutes more sleep is fine by me.

Plus - fuckme, the teef! 8 of them, and he knows how to use them. And not everything he bites was made for eating. On the plus side, lots of nice birthday pics on t'other place.

AlpinePony · 13/09/2011 07:52

fanny I'm very happy to hear you had a lovely day and that the children settled in well. All you need now is a ponee and your life will be complete! Wink

I'm putting this here because I think all the hoss gals are in CRESH. Had physio yesterday and because my SPD is in the back I have to sit like a trucker, walk like a trucker, you get the gist. So with her blessing I went for a quick ride yesterday, the thing I am absolutely not allowed to do is clamp my legs shut - particularly when engaging the tendons at the very top inside thigh. Now, you try riding a bloody horse at anything more than a passenger without engaging your thighs Confused! Anyway, it was absolutely gorgeous although I kept eyeing up perfectly crossable streams, banks, ditches and the like and promising her "march darling, march". I'm in hardly any pain at all today and this is only (I think) because i took her in the indoor arena for a look-see and she had a wobbly because of the lions, tigers & bears in evidence. So once the boys are away I'm going to go for a long passenger-style hack. Other problem is that she wishes me to 'engage core' which is v hard if you're in a "save me" hunting-style seat. So I'm ignoring that, would rather be safe than correct.

We think we've found a boy's name but as it's got "funny" pronounciation we're still not 100% convinced. I think pronounced "incorrectly" (as our girl's name is likely to be) would still be "fine". It's not like pronouncing Sian as Sye-anne.

fan the open plan is a killer, that?s for sure.

box I wasn?t querying the stopping bf, hope you didn?t take it that way . Just wondering why you went for formula rather than cows milk as am nosy Grin but if he won?t drink cows milk you clearly have a good reason. I just didn?t want you wasting your money if you didn?t need to !!

PollyCrystalTits · 13/09/2011 09:43

Oh what a lovely day outside. It is bright and blustery here. Shame things inside the house are not quite so nice. I woke up to dog piss on the kitchen floor (she is protesting that I won't let her sleep upstairs with me any more and has done this every night for two weeks), Boo puking on the carpet and BB has just puked down my leg. Nice! I've had to cancel my acupuncture appointment too. Meh.

I'm intrigued on the names Alps, please to post on t'other place?

Well I start college next week and am getting very excited, however I've jsut been reading through the notes for college and saw it says that I must wear 'business attire' and look professional at all times. WTF? A) what is the point in being a student if you don't get to be a scruffy skank? and B) I don't have any smart clothes as I've been at home for 4 years and any old officey clothes no longer fit. Over the weekend I ordered this dress in grey to wear with a long sleeved t and biker boots but I am thinking that is not exactly smart. Gah. I can't go shopping with sickly children and I am running out of time to order on line. Will it do do you think?

Cosmosis · 13/09/2011 09:59

Also ESHes, you know I am tight loves a bargain. Well I got a dishwasher yesterday for £26! Civilisation is about to come back to Chez Coz.

CurlyCasper · 13/09/2011 10:01

I LOVE the dress and it will be fine with your boots. Since when do needlers look business-like? I though you were all a bunch of hippies Grin

pols is there a confirmed date for ESHfest? Please to confirm over there. fanny are you going to come?

Well done on day one fanny. Long may it go so smoothly.

alps please to spill on the names.

PollyCrystalTits · 13/09/2011 10:15

Cheers Caspy! Confirmed date for ESHfest is 22/23 October. Laydees are welcome to come Friday 21st if you prefer, whatever is easier.

Cos you could have had a dishwasher for free - previous tenants left theirs here. Bit of a long way for you to come though! I also love a bargain and found that dress on ebay for half price. Grin

PollyCrystalTits · 13/09/2011 10:18

I haz ordered this dress too. it is from peacocks! It will probably look like a sack on me and will get sent back, but I love the pattern. Peacocks!

CurlyCasper · 13/09/2011 10:26

Nought wrong with Peacocks. Cheap and very cheerful. I got a pair of jeans from there recently and they are fab. Keep their shape really well no matter what I do to them. Also did well from their maternity range. AND they've just opened a store in my tiny nearest town.

Ok, I will have to be with child for that date pols, if that's ok. Will speak to you directly about arrangements etc.

Well done on the bargain cossie Envy

AlpinePony · 13/09/2011 10:32

cossie How on earth did you get a dishwasher for that price? Shock

pols I don't give a toss what the label says as long as I like it and it looks good cleanish.

Cosmosis · 13/09/2011 12:58

Just luck I think. Been watching a few for a while and mostly they seem to go for £80 - £100, don?t know why this one didn?t.

rollerbaby · 13/09/2011 13:21

Sorry for lurking.

Alps boo to the SPD. Not looking forward to the aches and pains bit. So far the odd wee when I sneeze and needing the loo every 4 minutes, but that's it. I also seem to have regained a wee bit of energy as I found myself manically tidying the other night after bedtime, which is basically my normal behaviour when not tired.

Pol - lovely dress - get you with 'above the knee'... exciting for you to be starting soon. I wouldn't panic about the business attire too much - I think it's to stop the goths turning up in tie dye.

We had a SHITE night last night. Me and Mr Moo argued about whether to feed or not before going to bed. I went with his argument not to and then got woken on the hour before we got up and fed him at 12.30am. Cue wake up at 3 and wide awakey baby who wanted to play and not stay in cot. As soon as I brought him in to us, happy as larry batting us both around the face. After about 40 minutes of this I got tough and put him back, shut the door and let him wail for 15-20 minutes before finally going asleep. Not pleasant, but this is not something I can cope with every night!!!! Haven't done any cc for a long long time so really didn;t like doing it but he seems fine this morning so please god we don't get a repeat performance. Needless to say I will be feeding before bedtime...

the nanny called in sick today after going home at lunch yesterday feeling poorly, so no doubt a matter of time before we all succumb... Today is like a bloody endurance test.

Moan over. As you were.

PollyCrystalTits · 13/09/2011 14:25

Sorry you had a bad night last night. Bad enough at the best of times but when you are up the duff with no2 it no fun. That dress may be above the knee, but I will be wearing it with thick woolly tights and boots Moo. Grin I'm quite getting into this autumn lark. I've just bought a jacket too. Must stop. We are getting a load of logs delivered together, I can't wait to get the fire going.

Right... must tear myself away and go do some more reading about qi. And yin/yang. And other stuff that is going ever so slightly over my head. Confused

Casp you are more than welcome to bring Squeaks, you can Boo's room or in the office on the futon. We have travel cot if squeaks will still use? If not, I might have to swap you and GG around so you can have BB's cot + airbed, and GG can have another bed + travel cot.

CurlyCasper · 13/09/2011 14:42

aw cheers polly dear! We can bring/borrow cot etc and will sleep anywhere at all. Given she's so tiny (about the size of a 6 month old I reckon!), I expect she'll still be in a travel cot. I am officially excited about it!

Backinthebox · 13/09/2011 15:22

Moo, that's what we do have every night. Only I don't have another room to put him back in. Ah, pity me!

Lighttaperstandback · 13/09/2011 17:45

Moo that sounds utter shite! Pls to ignore if you've had all the suggestions you want to hear about how to drop dream feed, but what I had heard was that rather than just dropping it straight off if that's going down like a lead baloon, you bring it earlier by 15 mins every other night or so, so Minimoo has time to adjust by increasing food/milk intake during the day. Once you're only an hour or so away from the pre bedtime feed, I guess you just then drop it. Bit less of a shock than cold turkey? Have you tried giving Good Night Milk at the last feed to help fill him up? It's what we use and seems to do the trick.

2 weeks to go then eh Box? Having had Squib in our bed for one night when he was poorly over the weekend, I have absolutely no clue how you get any shuteye at all... Took me a day to recover from the experience [lightweight.com].

Ocarina · 13/09/2011 19:07
CurlyCasper · 13/09/2011 19:25

Welcome! And sorry about the sore/infected bits ocars. Hope they can sort you out. Meanwhile, there is a tea tree oil jacuzzi somewhere in here that you might want to slip into. We'll pass you champagne, brie and pate. Grin

rollerbaby · 13/09/2011 19:58

welcome ocarina! Hope you are loving the first week, stitches aside. Stuff like that is annoying and unpleasant but they do heal quickly promise.

Box when is the extension finished then? I don't know how you manage every night! Presumably he falls asleep eventually? Mine was showing no signs whatsoever.

Light we had already dropped the feed successfully when he was eating well at each meal so was on 7,2.30 and 7 bottle. But now he is refusing to eat properly we've gone backwards a bit and need to subsitute more milk for the food he's not eating. Hopefully this is a phase!

Today has been properly shite mainly due to tiredness and non eating child frustration plus sick nanny and not working as I should be. To be honest ,I'd have done fuck all anyway.

Off to see the consultant tomorrow to chat about my number 1 experience and get her take on everything. Feels a bit soon to be talking about labour no. 2 but I wasn't going to turn down an appointment...

rollerbaby · 13/09/2011 20:00

Er, and story please when you have a mo?!

rocketleaf · 13/09/2011 20:59

Welcome occers sorry to hear about the infected undercarriage but glad everything else is going well. Peedie is so utterly gorgeous!

moo sounds like a mare! I hope it was just a blip and you can tank him up with more milk tonight so it doesn't happen again. We had a really crappy night last night too although its a bit more to be expected at Sprouts age she lulled me into a a false sense of security by sleeping like a dream the first night at my folks house.

And today hasn't been much better. Horrible trip to do the swimming club at my local baths after rushing back from my folks this morning (and my dad pissing me off by being more interested in his new phone than his granddaughter) Sprout went blue after 10 minutes and then screamed blue murder when i was trying to dry and dress her and didnt want to be put down on the changing table. I ended up having to feed her half naked (both of us) standing up in the changing room as they didn't see fit to put a seat in the family changing room. She didn't want to be put down at all so that was fun trying to dress her and myself. Then she had her 16 week jabs this avo so I ended up begging TB to knock off early and come with us or I think I would have had a complete melt down. She seems to have ridden these ones out though and was happy enough once we got home. Just hope she sleeps better tonight but then I am not planning on leaving the house tomorrow!

Lovely dresses pol so excited for you!

rocketleaf · 13/09/2011 21:00

Meant to say as part of that moo the tiredness always makes everything seem 10 times worse. I know I would have handled todays shenanigans better if we had had a good night last night. Hope you get some kip ce soir. I am heading for a bath and bed very shortly

FannyPriceless · 13/09/2011 21:49

Yay occer and welcome.Smile

Boo hoo moo to bad night time. We had the night from hell (7th circle, no less) on bloody Sunday night before my freckin first day at work!Shock PLease someone wave wand and tell all ESH babaies to sleep.

pollytits Can you believe it? It looks like I bloody well can come to ESH house party!!Grin Currently negotiating avec or sans sprog. MrP informs me he is away in that London the following weekend for a conference, so realised he cannot refuse this request.Grin I wondered whether Madam might appreciate Bonnie as company? Or is she not going to be there? (Sorry for failure to keep up.)

Work is OK. Second day not as exciting as the first. Also embarassed to arrive at 9 and leave on the dot of 5. This 'slack' behaviour still requires leaving the house at 7:30 am and only just getting home in time to bathe kids and put to bed.Confused

pols We are on same wavelength. I spent the weekend on a work clothes splurge that I couldn't afford. Super bargain excellent dresses are:
shift dress
wrap jersey dress (so comfy)
And a bit more on this Jigsaw one.
Still having hideous problems with shoes though. My feet have gone soft and I have blisters, despite wearing flat, wide-fit, comfy old lady styles. But apparently after 2 years ML my feet will now only tolerate trainers.Hmm

Off to bed now.

PollyCrystalTits · 13/09/2011 22:22

Welcome Occers, sorry to hear of the sore bits, I hope the doc gave you some anti-bs. How is life with your beautiful girl? I hope you are managing to get some rest and have lots of people running around after you!

Fans good work on the clothes spurge! I have received my cord dress and stripey t today, tomorrow I should get the dress from peacocks, and today I ordered a pair of jeans and a Boden pea jacket from ebay. Ooops.. my finger slipped. Oh yes and I have just sent TG links to a dress I;d like from fatface, plus a mac and another dress from Boden. (ooh get me!) Seeing as he never bothered to buy me a birthday present (even the fecking book case!) he might as well buy me some clothes. Bet I will only get one of the items though. How did we get from a trip to Venice (paid for by him) to a party (paid for by my credit cards), and an antique ring to a bookcase that never materialised. Meh.

Ooh I just remembered I ordered this one too! Naughty me, but what a bargain. Must. Stop. Spending. Money. I. Don't. Have. I suppose I could always send it all back.

PollyCrystalTits · 13/09/2011 22:26

Forgot to say Fans I am getting rid of the girls and TG for the ESH weekend. Other peoples children are fine, but I want a weekend off!
