Heeyah.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
rollerbaby · 27/08/2011 16:56

Lady you are a very lucky woman indeed! I hope you get a repeat performance tonight!

We've got back from lunch with NCT lot. Was very nice apart from fact no one was especially in a hurry to order except me who was dying of MS! I ended up eating half a loaf of bread and then gagging publicly. Nice. All the kids were playing on the floor in the pub (start as you mean to go on...).

We are going through a spitting out everything stage - is this common? It is bloody revolting. And quite annoying when you have spent 3 days slaving over a hot stove or something.

Backinthebox · 27/08/2011 17:57

Don't you just love it when your husband calls to say he is setting off to come home about 20 mins after you were expecting him to walk through the door, and it's an hour drive. I just love sitting here with a screaming baby I can't carry and child who goes nuts if you turn Fireman Fucking Sam over because you might be able to make your day less shit if you can watch the eventing over the sound of screaming. I can't even make myself a stiff drink cup of tea because I can't carry anything still.

SilverSky · 27/08/2011 19:32

rocket I think 6-7 mths. Depends how lazy mobile your sprog is and whether happy to stay in car seat/pram.

moo MB did like cucumber, nectarine, peach. Not any more apparently. We have lots of spitting out going on and batting away. Driving me insane.

box I can only sympathise. Hope MrBox makes up for it when he does get home. Did Mary King have a fall?

It would seem that I shall be fuelled by Pimms tonight if this afternoon is anything to go by!!!!

rocketleaf · 28/08/2011 08:25

box I hope he put his foot down and got back in time for you to catch a bit of the neddies. I cant imagine how bloody frustrating it must be to be immobile still.

ta silv I HTFU and went out after all and she was a dream, popped her in her pjs before we went and she slept through the whole thing then went straight to sleep at 9 when we got in. Good to know we might have a few more months of being able to get away with that.

lady am vey envious of your super sleeping microgee. My previously fabulous sleeper has regressed to 3 am/6am/7.30. And theres lot's of rooting around, grunting and very noisy thumb sucking going on for the hour before she wakes up which is just fabulous. I am not sure if this is a growth spurt or if she's just backed up. 12th day of no poop in the Leaf household :-(

Backinthebox · 28/08/2011 09:51

Rocket I am mobile, just can't carry anything because I have to walk with 50% of my weight through the crutches for another week and a half (although don't tell anyone - I may have been cheating a bit here! Still no good for carrying food and drink though, because crutchless walking involves a bit of a hopping kind of motion, and I would hate to spill gin!)

Mr Box got in at 3am and still let me have the lie in because I had a horrible day yesterday. Bless him - forgiven!

rocketleaf · 28/08/2011 10:02

oic box still bloody frustrating though. glad has MrBox made up for his misdemeanour.

I took the early shift this morning as TB did it yesterday. I am probably going to fall asleep face down in my roast dinner this avo.

owlbooty · 28/08/2011 13:21

You lot were right; he's behaving himself today and no mental cluster-feeding. Thank fuck for that; I was starting to worry my norks would actually fall off. I still cannot believe a week-old baby can stay awake for 12 hours solid and feeding the whole time but he can and he did.

GG MicroG slept through the night?? That is awesome. Please accept some more small animals for sacrificing. I dream of a full night's sleep.

Box Not sure what your injury is but sounds miserable :( Do they make gin-compatible painkillers? If not, they bloody ought to.

Backinthebox · 28/08/2011 16:00

Owl I did , only I failed to make it back up onto the horse and snapped the knobbly bit off the inside of my ankle instead. Tis OK though - I found a nice man to screw it back on again. It's not the gin I was having trouble with finding compatible painkillers, it was the BFing. I don't need the painkillers now, but I had 5 fog-filled days in hospital where I had my own gas and air on tap instead of the more usual morphine. And I had the screws put in under a spinal block and sedative instead of the more normal general anaesthetic. (Polishes DHB crown and is willing to kick anyone who tries to steal it with my bionic leg.) Apparently I went on and on about LG throughout the entire surgery. I remember nothing of this, but it must have been disconcerting for the surgeon!

LG is upstairs atm screaming blue murder. OH is trying to sleep, thanks to 3am return from night out. I cannot carry LG down the stairs - he is tired and really needs a walk in the pram or something, but I am buggered if I am spending yet another day sitting on my own with a wailing baby while OH gets on with whatever he wants to do. He has sleep deprivation because he went out with his mates? My heart bleeds. The thing is, I can't even take the kids out and let OH have a lie in tomorrow, because I can't carry LG down the stairs and the frustration of this does not seem to have registered on OH's radar yet. Hmm

SilverSky · 28/08/2011 19:11

Is feeding your baybee fish fingers and mash potato followed by Ambrosia Creamed Rice at 9.5mths acceptable? I'm thinking probably not but needs must!!! We're at MILs and no food supplies were brought with us.

boxy I tell thee menfolk are on another planet. Their brains function so differently to us wimminz. I left MB with HI for three GLORIOUS hours. Typically I walked back through the door, HI is doing lunch for him, sees me and literally hands the reins back over to me. No pun intended.

rocketleaf · 28/08/2011 20:14

TB is normally pretty good but yesterday he didn't put the wrap on Sprouts nappy properly so it leaked all over her freshly changed bed. When I rather exasperatedly taxed him about it his excuse was "I'm tired" Wtf kind of excuse is that? If that were a good excuse she'd be wearing her nappy on her head half the time!! I say he needs more practice, how hard is it to check that all the nappy is inside the wrap ffs Hmm

booty glad things are settling down a bit. It's all a bit random in the first few weeks, I think it's best not to try and figure out what the hell is going on as it'll only change the next day. Kind of freaks you out tho!

Thought today was going to be a mare as Sprout was very out of sorts this morning. But she slept all the way through a protracted Sunday lunch and then woke up in a good mood and proceeded to charm the pants off everyone. All I could think of during the 3 hours she was asleep was "wish that was me"

okiecokie · 28/08/2011 20:31

I am just about out of the other side of a D&V bug and frankly I find all your bbq, shopping and nights out chat repulsive.

Silv you gave mash with the fish fingers? I always give chips Wink

CluckyKate · 28/08/2011 20:52

I'm with you Okes - I also serve with spaghetti hoops and it's usually jelly for afters.
Sorry to hear about the D&V too but good news you're on t'other side.

No nights out for me Sad. Was supposed to be at the party that MrBox was gigging at last night and tenting it with FamilyBox but BC was not on form so didn't seem right to make him sleep outside on an arctic August night. Shame as I heard it was brilliant. Shopping also banned until I lose at least 2 stone, preferably 3.

Am ver jealous of the 3 hours off Silv. Was supposed to be playing ponies meself this morning only MrCluck (who did go to said party) slept in until 11:30 and was off to play cricket an hour later. Hoping he'll make up for it tomorrow and go for a nice long hack & blow some cobwebs away across a few stubble fields.

okiecokie · 28/08/2011 21:42

A good dose of D&V has actually helped shift a few irksome pounds clucks. I am even off the wine which is unheard of so I must be ill.

SilverSky · 28/08/2011 21:52

Yuk to D&V okiedoke. Glad you are on the mend. Did MrO maintain childcare whilst you were locked in the loo??

cluck I iz playing ponies tomorrow too. Two days in a row - whatever next? Oh that's right probably another week of not riding.

rock men should know that their tiredness will never compare to that of the mother. Men are so competitive about everything!! Grin

CluckyKate · 28/08/2011 22:34

Why do men even bother competing over tiredness - they know they'll lose.

Have found your dream saddle here Alps

Two days on the trot eh Silv - Hmm and what will HI be expecting in return.

SilverSky · 29/08/2011 08:14

No comment on the saddle.

cluck HI will receive in return a far happier chilled out wifey who has enjoyed some baby free time. What more could he want? Grin Wink

AlpinePony · 29/08/2011 09:08

LadyG Well done on the sleeping baybee - long may she continue!

kate I'm afraid I'm going to have to pass on that saddle, I don't see any Swarovski. :(

silv Have you tried him with chips yet? They love them!

It's buggering freezing here today - I've cracked open Bear's winter wardrobe which is a touch on the big side as I wasn't expecting to have to use it for another month! Confused

AlpinePony · 30/08/2011 08:41

May have made a schoolgirl error. Shock Fed him 2 nectarines last night as his dinner was given to the dogs - accompanied by much hilarity - on his part, not mine. Unfortunately we've both woken this morning with green snot so neither of us are going to school. 2 nectarines eh?

OP posts:
Cosmosis · 30/08/2011 09:00

ha ha, mil was only telling me on sunday about the amazing ability of nectarines to guarantee a poo out of a baybee Grin

don't see what's wrong with fish fingers and mash although ambrosia rice is the devils work and should be binned.

rockets, TGO forgot the wrap at all on sunday! we got to where we were going and artie's trousers were all damp! luckily we always have a stash of emergency disposables in the change bag, and he had to hairdryer arties jeans to dry them.

I haves lurgy.

SilverSky · 30/08/2011 09:22

I too have green snot. Not green bot snot tho. MB still snuffly. I am dreading what he bugs and Shiz that return from nursery with him. Partic any vom ones. Have such a phobia, tho I am getting better, even caught some vom with my pjs yesterday whereas previously I would have legged it faster than that Bolt bloke.

Today's mistake : thinking that the nursery settling in session was this morning when it's this afternoon. Duh.

Lighttaperstandback · 30/08/2011 11:04

Oh dear. Appears to be lots of snottiness going on 'round these parts...autumn already then? May I offer those feeling grotty this large thermous of hot toddy mixed on a one third ratio of whiskey/lemon & honey/hot water?

Squib & I seem to have had a bit of the snotsville too, though his seems to have turned into more of a cough thing - wakes up in the morning sounding like he's been puffing on the woodbines all night. Shecshay (feeble attempt at Sean Connery accent). He was coughing away at 3am, meaning I was awake and ready to leap in and console/apply Karvol, but he went back to sleep and seemed perfectly chirpy this morning.

His father was convinced last night that he must have bronchitis/pneumonia. Is it just my son's father who seems to suffer from hypochondria by proxy when it comes to our child?

Nice one on the nursery balls up Silv! Sounds like something I'd do.

Cosmosis · 30/08/2011 11:10

Yeah, Artie?s been snotty for a good 2 weeks now, and there is loads of it at work as well.

light due to Artie having 3 bruises currently, we convinced ourselves he had leukaemia at the weekend. The bruising wouldn?t be anything to do with him experimenting with standing up without holding on to anything at all obviously.

Ha ha re nursery timings silv!

AlpinePony · 30/08/2011 11:15

lights Nope, JB is a complete over-reactor. Although obviously upon saying that it does bring to mind the time I told him he was over-reacting but A&E raced us straight up to paediatrics. Blush I still maintain a good sleep & some calpol would've done the job...

silv Nursery will be liberating for you. Now when you work a half day you can go ride the hoss without needing to sweet-talk relatives in to doing you a "favour". Re: puke, I'm sure you'll be fine. I bet you never really romanticised poo either, but how many pooey nappies have you done in the last 9 months? We grit our teeth and get on with it. It's just manning you up enough to deal with HI in his old age! Wink

OP posts:
laurielou · 30/08/2011 13:02

Nightmare on all the snot issues everyone. Pliz to be keeping germs to yourselves.

So, I don't want to tempt fate but we have now had a whole week of BugBoy sleeping from 11pm (ish) to anywhere between 6 / 7 am! Yippee!! However he is currently screaming the house down instead of having a lunchtime nap. I know he's knackered................ stubborn little monkey.

Cosmosis · 30/08/2011 13:43

nice one lozza, long may it continue. (the night sleeps that is, not the lunchtime screaming!)
