Hello
Blimey Katz your dd is off already?! DD keeps getting her knees up but thankfully no more than that so far. DD1 keeps showing her what to do. DD1 'read' her the Usborne Christmas Cloth book today too. It was very sweet watching them both sat up together poring over this book. Awww. Found dd2 right underneath our TV table today munching on the wires . It was a struggle to get her out. She was so pleased with herself too. I have decided I am not going to sterilise anything apart from my breast pump when I start weaning (and maybe not even that) as the amount of stuff she already puts in her mouth and rolls over to lick (table legs, fire guard (while off I hasten to add), dd1's shoes) etc completely defeats the object. Despite my best efforts to keep stuff out of the way it is nigh impossible with a toddler in the house.
Was babysitting till late last night with dd2 in tow. She was very good, but I did feel mean dragging her along. She wakes so much though it would have been impossible to leave her. Unfortunately I have agreed to sit for someone next Sat too and after last night really don't want to as it is not fair on dd2 , but I won't get another sitter for her now. Got to bed at 3am and luckily had a lie till 10 in courtesy of dh....apart from dd2's feeds. I have given dd2 some Calpol tonight as she has been very munchy and I want to see if it helps her sleep. I have a party to go to tomorrow night and I don't want to take her with me really so fingers crossed it might have an impact. (Not that I am dosing her up for a night out you understand . Tempting as that may be .
KVG - Medised is GREAT. Glad you like the Superfoods book too. I thought it was fab. Exactly how I need a recipe book to be ie lots of pictures. I enjoy reading recipe books for fun . I don't cook often enough from them though esp out here as some ingredients are hard to get.
I am livid with our camp supermarket at the moment as in their infinite wisdom they have decided to stop stocking breast pads! There are 100 different types of wine beer fags and crisps but they can't find space on the shelves for breast pads. . Some ladies on camp can't drive and there is no public transport so what are they supposed to do. The supply of formula is unreliable too. My friend has had to change her babies milk four times in 7 months as they keep changing the type they stock. Grrr .
Anyway this is total drivel and waffle so I will clear the way. Bye for now.

troublesawmummykissingsanta · 04/12/2005 21:28

Hi all! I really enjoyed myself at the Ann Summers party. It made a lovely change to be without any men! With dp and ds, its all boys stuff.

Tried weaning about 3 weeks ago, and all went horribly wrong. Ds just pushed everything we tried out and got very very upset if we put anything near his mouth. So i decided to leave it for a while. Anyway, my mum tried him with some apple and custard today and he absolutely loved it. Infact, he cried when she stopped! It was great. Also, i've never been able to get him to drink anything apart from milk and today he had some juice. Also from my mum. Do you think there's a bit of a pattern going on here? Obviously he just doesn't want mummy to do it.

It just goes to show that he really wasn't ready before. I'm feeling so happy. And now, after all that, i have to go to work tomorrow. Really don't want to go (stomps feet in protest!) I'm really going to miss ds.

His ezcema is really terrible at the moment. His skin feels like sand paper. Have to try yet ANOTHER cream.

Anyway, i'm so happy for all you guys with crawling/rolling babies. My ds is a lazy boy and does nothing. Takes after his father then

Morning all...
KVG - ROFL that link!! ps thicko fisrt time mum, but what is medised?
Troubles - thinking of you today, good luck!
Katz - crawling? Already?? OMG, I find it hard enough to cope with ds rolling, and he only learnt to do that properly on Friday!

Had ds and my sister's dd's christening do yesterday. They were v good, no crying and no pooing on the vicar, phew! They even turned the heating on in the church so it was actually above freezing temp (just); luckily vicar had brought his thermos so the water wasn't too cold!

Now I have to ring the childminder to arrange getting ds to meet her before going back to work next month

2manyglassesofmulledwine · 05/12/2005 08:57

ooh, I mean vicar had brought his thermos with warm water in, not that he baptised them in coffee

2manyglassesofmulledwine · 05/12/2005 09:37

(I baptise you in the name of the father, son and nescafe gold blend... )

snowfallatxmasmum · 05/12/2005 09:46

eastyorksmum · 05/12/2005 10:40

sfmum i love christmas too, but here no where to put the tree, Is it me or are our babies taking over the down stairs totally lol weve now got a monster of a high chair to add to the dinning room lol if i ever get drunk ill end up in A and E myself.

back later xxxxxx

AlleLuah · 05/12/2005 10:48

Morning All!

KVG - you are a bad influence! I have always drool at the GU puddings in the supermarket but always exercised restraint. But after you suggested that I needed them for the good of DS, I had to buy them! And I am already officially hooked!!!!

Also, thanks for that thread link! Gave me something to look forward! Did you notice most of the stories involved little boys?! I knew there was a reason I was terrified about them!
And if his current behavious is anything to go by, we we'll have lots of stories to contribute! He is competing heavily with Katz DD! He has been moving around comando style, loves to chew a slipper and the table, the chair, etc... and yesterday figure out how to pull himself up... Goodness help us!

katzglitterytree · 05/12/2005 14:28

well back from the childrens hospital and we're still none to wiser as to what dd2's rash is, i was expecting to see the dermatologist but we just saw a regular doctor, who took photos to show the dermatologist so just waiting!

OP posts:
Thehollyandthejonah · 05/12/2005 17:21

hi all,
Sorry i've been absent for so long, i was thinking about you all, i promise....
I've got a lot of catching up to do. I love all your christmas names. Everything is fine here.DS has now dropped the 10pm feed and are sleeping through from 6:30pm to 7:30am. We're also on 3 meals a day, which he is guzzling down. I'm really envious of all your babies sitting up. I am desparate to get him into the next car seat as i am squashing him into his current one, but i've been told that you cant move them up till they are sitting up. I'm sure he is totally unsafe at the moment, but heyho.
I'll try and catch up soon, hope you are all well.

teabelly · 05/12/2005 17:40

Evening Ladies

Well have made a very crap attempt to catch up and then decided to leave it as I'd only managed to get to last wednesday!!!

Hope all are well.

Big hello and welcome to our newbies

What's happened to the yahoo pictures...went to sneak a peek at the new piccies and all I get is an error message???

Katz - hope you got my email about the pressies - hope I'm in time! What a pain about your appointment at the hospital, hope you have better luck when the dermatologist actually gets to see the pics. Sorry if I'm repeating others, but what kind of rash and where??

Well we've had a very full week, hence not getting on the computer, yet when I think about what exactly nothing much springs to mind I just know I was run off my feet last week!

We have now finally managed to roll over, hooray! Last week it was from back onto front, then just before the weekend dd went, back to front to back, just the once mind! Yesterday the cocky little madam is rolling like a piece of tummble weed down the length of mil's living room - no mean feat as it's 22 foot long I'm soooo proud!

Trib - welcome back - hope you have your connections sorted out soon!

Welshie - alot of people say dd looks like me - it's easy to see why, big chubby cheeks, very little hair, dribbling big gummy smile! Glad getting back to work has been ok so far, tbh I'm dreading it, I guess cos it's a new company, new people etc...also am abit peeved today, just found out my recently ex-boss sold the company last week and pocketed £11million for himself and I didn't even get a face to face goodbye from them (for going on OML or with the redundancy) let alone any actual money as a pay off...lots of nasty names said here today oh well - at least I know I'll probably make it into heaven when I die

Right had better go as dd's crying now and I didn't get very far in my catching up so have no more to add atm!

See you all later, x
