Okay, I think I've caught up...
Thanks for the good wishes. Interested to read the routines of all your little ones. Ours is completely different, depending on whether it is a work day or a home day. Geting two out of the house by 7:15 (DH and DS1) and then DS2 and I by *:15 will be interesting again next week. Today they slept until 8:15, but DS2 was up for three hours in the night, having randomly been sick. He's not been his usual self today (has not requested any food and has only had two pieces of dried toast) but you wouldn't have known he'd been poorly overnight.
PA and Scones you'll be amazed how much quicker you can do things after a couple of weeks with two. With DS1 I used to think making baby group by 11a.m was an achievement in the early days. With DS2, I had DS1 at the childminder for 9am and was then in Sainsburys ten minutes later with DS2 at week 2!
DS2 has a new skill which is stuffing large pieces of veg up his nose so that you can't see them. So far we've had a piece of broccoli and a pea. Luckily, he can blow his nose so when I've covered the oher nostril, he has actually been able to blow them back down. He clearly doesn't enjoy the experience so you'd think he would have learnt after the first time, but no... However, he does eat: cucumber, tomatoes, raw carrot, pepper, cooked broccoli, cauli, parsnip, sweet potato, peas, sweetcorn (especially as corn on the cob), carrot, stir fry veg, etc.. and any fruit offered. He doesn't like avocado, tuna or eggs (in any form bizarrely) and has decided that bread is best thrown on the floor, raher than eaten at the mo.
Has anyone started thinking about Christmas? Our local ELC is closing so they're selling everything at least 20% off. I have managed to buy some sporty things for DS1 at very reduced prices. I'd recommend Orchard Toys (you can google them) for good early jigsaws etc.. that are attractive and last. Their games are good for DS1 now too. DS2 is loving jigsaws at the mo which is fab as it means he will actually sit still for up to 5 mins on his own
. They only have 2 pieces but he does enjoy a round of applause when he's done them!!
Anyway, enough of us..
BG glad the check up went well. (I'm loving this stage with DS2 as I was just trying to get through the days with DS1 at this point as I had morning sickness/tiredness)
SB It's lovely when the other half has some Daddy/son time and really enjoys it isn't it?
Laundry while we are away - I tend to get a cotage with a machine and do it as I go along. We go unironed once we're wearing clothes for a second time. I still seem to pack too much though!
BBB Glad you've managed to make a decision that hopefully will suit you and your girls re work. Must have been a very tricky decision and I hope it works out well for you. I do keep wondering if I should be at home more enjoying this time like everyone keeps telling me. I've enjoyed this holiday more than I thought I would.
Mous Hope your DH is still alive
(despite the razor incident) and I also am aghast at the cost of school shoes. £38 for a pair of Startrite size 5.5 here. He nearly lost one the other day and I was panicking!!
Good luck to the LOs starting school. I have another year before that, but I have several friends in your position and I can only imagine how wierd it must be sending them out into the wide world. Foundation in England is mostly play-based these days unless you get a really old-fashioned school. I love going to play with my 'littlies'!
Anyway, at risk of this being the longest post ever (but you have had about a month off from my rambles..). Night all.
